The hooks in the fireplace can hold pots to cook with as well. It’s a cute space. I love the traditional feel. And once you clean it up and paint it and add a washroom it will be quite lovely.
E já me esqueci que esse banquinhos são muito típicos da nossa Beira e tens outros muito mais bonitos daí de Monsanto os tropeços 😊 ambos eram utilizados para as pessoas se sentarem em frente à lareira, aí dizem " em frente ao Lume" em quanto cozinhavam nas panelas de 3 pernas e muitas vezes comiam nas noites frias de inverno, essas correntes dentro da chaminé têm várias alturas porque era onde se colocava um "caldeiro" com água para aquecer. Felizmente ainda tive o privilégio de viver, ver e utilizar estes e muitos outros utensílios e ferramentas com os meus Avós que são daí de Monsanto 🤩

Hi Suzi, the cheapest will be for loo, handbasin and shower will be in small storage room. The access and outlet closest to outside wall. The kitchen sink,needed with cupboard above and kettle and toaster below. The other "room" perfect for a dressing room. Once painted, with spotlights it will come into its own. Your vintage inherited furniture needs to see some sun light, lightly sanded, cleaned , and painted "french" country style colours will be charming.. Flowery, fresh, checks and toiles, and inviting on a budget.. Its a HUGE job to take off render...the place is small and will look smaller. Light and airy, and cut the door in half with attached hook for air. A nice fern to hang in fireplace. I would spray that old chain a matt old gold, and those cute foot stools are so useful to rest on. Lucky you. Google , french country cottage for ideas! You can still be minimilistic and not fussy, or cluttery.💐💛🐝☕Ps, a daybed in dream room a must for a friend, as she can pop in thru your lounge door, and into your bathroom.Maybe use the grey couch and nice new cheap cotton throw. Ive been using 80's sheets for table cloth and table cloths for throws over ottoman.ps, if you paint ceiling white, it will look brighter and bigger.
Suzi, why I am so exited for your restoration is that I bought my Ist over 100 year old cottage, with orange tree surround and awesome dam of spring water...when i was 18 yrs old. Then later another thatch roofed house and coach house and stable. Then a cottage and then down to two garden flats! To kill the idea of previous owners, everything went white! Unless wooden floors, the builder put a layer of concrete with a terracotta powder in the mix, smooth and lovely. This in Stable end of coach house. Stable top door open for safety from snakes, for warm fresh air. Hoping for a lotto win for my last purchase!! I was scammed by a trust worthy? Investment advisor... Now in garden flat rental! Trying to grow shrubs and flowers that snails hate!!☺️ Enjoy each moment in your charming home.💐💛🐝we do too!

How about putting a small bathroom next to kitchen and the small room in back could be the bedroom. Then that would leave the rest for small living room and dining room.
