And I saw a lot of that stuff that my grandma had growing up so it’s not vintage so much to me but yeah. And I used to sell Avon so a lot of that stuff looked really familiar
Oh I wish you had more time. ❤ That could have been the twin of the giant dumpster that was hauled in to clear my grandma's big house. All of us grandkids tried to save as much as we could and we ran out of time granted by the estate executors. So much Avon, jewelry, photos, vintage collectibles, clothing, recipes, general household stuff. Just gone. I get that we can't save everything, but ohhh, I felt your sadness through to my core... I have felt exactly that myself. 😭 Thank you for inviting us along. I hope the treasures made your birthday fantastic!
What makes me happy is knowing that you were able to save as much as you could. Be proud of your accomplishment no matter if it was only 1/10th of what was there. You got some real treasures! Thanks!!
Happy Birthday Kelly! Hope you’re having a wonderful day! Great haul on this video! It’s so sad someone’s belongings were just dumped in the trash, but so glad you saved what you did.
You are so genuine and sweet, I love watching your channel. Also, I just realized that your artistic way of displaying your finds in your home takes a lot of talent!
28:50 I LOVE those earrings! I would love to buy them from you. That popcorn cart would make an adorable side table w/ storage in a movie theater room. Just add a piece of wood an inch or two bigger than the base
It’s 2023, catching up on a few past episodes that I missed! You are so positive & naturally serene & pleasant, ( oh I’m sure you have a “monent”like we all do lol) but your soul just seems to exude contentment & positivity ; it’s relaxing to watch! And Fun!! It’s good mood therapy for me !! Thanks!
Scott Chambers - I'm 54 and some young guy told me I was "taking up space young people could use " and that "old people should be put down." He looked younger than my daughter who turns 22 tomorrow. I told him he probably wouldn't agree with that when he gets to 54. But it made me feel older than dirt.... lol!
You are such a sweetheart. You have such a genuine sweet loving heart. It's very upsetting that all of that stuff ended up going to the landfill. But what you are doing is completely amazing
If you call those vintage, I wish you were close to me so I could give you all my crap from the 50’s till now. None of my family wants my stuff. You seem like you appreciate things.
Our Grandma hid her diamond rings in the baking powder cans with the baking powder. No one knew. Grandpa asked if they got her rings? They asked where they were.... All were already taken to the landfill/dump. They used their car trunk for a bank.
@@Irish-Triplet what?? so nobody got her diamond rings? they were in the powder cans? and grandpa dumped the kitchen stuff? oh geez. so sad. so did grandpa tell u the jewels were in the baking powder cans?
My grandmother used to sell Avon when I was growing up. She used to give me Sweet Honesty cologne as gifts and it was my favorite cologne when I was around 13 years old. That was a long time ago. LOL
Trust me - I have been in the vintage/antique business for 30 years and know my stuff. Avon is worthless. I do sell a lot of vintage fragrances, but Avon (no matter how cute the bottles are) do not sell and, in fact, don't even give away.
So sad to see that ones life does end up as scrap. Thank God for people like you that treasure these items, you keep a person alive by keeping and using their items. God bless.
Happy Birthday!! Please do a part 2!! Love these finds. Also, sounds crazy but use whitening toothpaste and a toothbrush to remove tarnish from that brush/mirror and jewelry. Works great!
The only downfall is cleaning silver and silverplated removes a layer of silver each time it's cleaned, so it's not always the best option to clean it as it will tarnish even after cleaning.
I somehow ran across your videos and have been watching them. You seem to be a sweet person and care about some of the memories of life that you come across. I have actually shed a tear here and there when I see that ones life just ends up in a dumpster. I get it, a loved one passes or what have you, and their place is just cleaned out and tossed. It is making me rethink my life.

Happy birthday. Tomorrow is my son’s birthday too. “They threw all that good stuff in the landfill” “I’m not crying, you’re crying”. You looked really sad
You are so cute! I would love to go trashing with you. Makes me miss doing it. But I was living on the streets then and mainly looking for recyclables. I found some really cool stuff including 4 vintage ,(from the early '50's) authentic fur jackets and stoles. Unfortunately, I had them in a shopping cart, well hidden, and I had to park them in an alley. The City took all my stuff. I had nowhere to put them! I went to take a shower and poof, all gone. So imagine the stuff you saw the garbage truck take was your stuff, memorabilia, treasures, heirlooms. Talk about pain! But still, love your enthusiasm and get a kick out of your naivete. I'll be watching your videos.
That happens when someone dies suddenly or if the person knew they were dying but didn't start giving their loved ones their treasures or have old clothes sent to thrift stores

This is my kind of haul so much treasure!! it’s one of my favorite videos and it just happened to be your birthday ,happy birthday!😃👯♀️🌯I want to see everything I look forward to part two :-)
I love reselling perfume! Some of this discontinued stuff goes for crazy money. I just looked up the sold listings of that Lancôme Magie perfume and there was one for over $400 😵
Just remember they are your memories--not your kids. After cleaning my Mom's house out over the summer I have started going through my own stuff. I won't leave my daughter with the same mess. Start going through things and explaining to your kids what they are. Ask if they actually want the collection.
Oh girl! I wanted to cry with you:-( You did great getting what you did! Can't wait to see what else is in there. Also I paid big money for Avon. Especially the Anew products. They are pricey. Nice score on the Popcorn popper too! This whole dive was like A HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
You got a good haul! The nail polishes and perfumes go bad after time but the perfume bottles are collectible.. The nightgowns could go to a thrift store or women"s shelter. I used to do dumpster diving in Milwaukee, found alot of good stuff and kept very little, I gave most of it to people I knew that had little to nothing-so it helped them out alot. Be careful not to become a hoarder, it's easy to do, so many goodies. It's sad when the family just throws so much out. But I know from my Mom passing 3 yrs ago that it gets really overwhelming to clean out an apartment or house. Emotions are raw and you get tired and likely have limited time, if you don't live in that city -you don't always know where to take all of it . I used to clean things up and give them away. Glad to see that you wear gloves and have a step stool. And yes, as Debby Mize stated,, USE YOUR THINGS and enjoy them, don't wait for later. I have cleaned out and emptied both my husbands and my parents homes, it gets overwhelming very fast and it's sad.
I work at a thrift store.... Check there dumpster. It's always full! They throw out about 80% of what comes in everyday! It sucks. I'm frugal and is why i work there. But the amount of things i throw out, it's hard.....
Sometimes the close family of a deceased person lives out of state, they simply don't have much time deal with the contents of a loved one's home or apartment. Especially if they have to sell the house or co-op/condo. A residence going up for sale must be cleared out and staged. Usually, any unnecessary items are dumped. Of course, the family will look for any stashed money! I heard a story where an elderly many put 100 dollar bills in his hardcover books, when he died, the books ended up in the garbage. People who took some of the books from the trash were extremely surprised! As for clothing in the trash, watch out for bedbugs, the same goes for upholstered furniture, pass it by! The cost of getting rid of bedbugs far outweighs any money you'd make re-selling any dumpster finds.
This has always been my favorite video, what with the urgency to get what you can before the garbage man gets there. And the absolute heartache of not being able to get everything!!
If you find any Avon Honeysuckle perfume, I’d buy it off of your online store! That was the perfume my grandma used to wear. She sold Avon. I use the honeysuckle lotion from Bath & Body Works and it kind of resembles the Avon one, but I’d love to have the actual one she wore ❤️ Every time I smell honeysuckles it reminds me of her (and lilacs, they used to have a lilac bush near the front of the house and it was her favorite)
My kids know how I love the smell of lilacs and always use yo pick them off the huge bush at my uncles ( new home buyers chopped it down ) . Anyway my kids got me lilac fragrance candles etc for a gift and it smells soo bad lol. I haven't the heart to let them know I can't stand it and am afraid I will continue to receive lots of lilac fragrances to come.
Aspen Robinson I bought the lilac scented candle from Bath and Body Works and all it did was give off a fake floral scent and give me a headache. I kept it for the cute lilac design though. 🤪 Let me know if you come across one that smells like the real thing!!
There is a place online if you give them the name of a past scent they can replicate it 100% Google it,any perfume you can EVER imagine.righg down to loves baby soft,or old Victoria Secret ones.or Famous Perfumers.
When is the last time you saw anything from Avon? I'm a rep and let me tell you, it's not your mother's Avon anymore! Stop by my estore and check it out...youravon. com/RJWertz (take out the space, of course)
Happy Birthday! I wish you many, many more! Wow! You have over twelve hundred comments! I hope that mine doesn't already tell you what you've already heard or know. You can get these lint rollers to remove the pet hair on the Mini Mouse toys that may save you from having to wash them. Essentially they are perforated sticky tape on a stick that you roll over whatever has pet hair or lint on it. Then you tear off the tape revealing a fresh piece underneath. You probably already know about them but I thought just in case you didn't I would tell you...
Disney stuffed animals can be tossed into the dryer on cool, fluff with a few damp washcloths which will remove the pet hair. Glad you salvaged so much; don't be sad that you couldn't get more; you had no more room in your car :-).
The thought of dumpster diving gives me the creeps. So why did I watch the entire video? You have a pleasant personality and you look as if you really enjoy searching. Best of luck to you.
You can really tell how passionate she is about reduce, reuse, recycle... love her for that!
What makes me sad is how many things are kept "new" for someday and then ends in the trash after we die. Use your things!

You should advertise you will clean out land lords apartments. That away you can save it from the landfill and maybe get a little money too.
That is a fantastic idea! However, it is work and some people aren't about working
@@candlesoftheearthbestcandl995 looks like shes pretty keen on work to me. the hour or so we see is a result of hours and hours of work i reckon.
My heart was breaking for you! I can’t imagine how hard that was to leave the rest. Love your channel and thanks for taking us on your adventures!
Thanks!
When she says 2001 is vintage it makes my heart hurt.
Me too..lol
Tracy Midkiff Me three ☹️
Crazy lamp lady explained it if you want to sell something on etsy as vintage it must be 20 years old or more yep 1990s is vintage!
In a year and half it'll be vintage
Scott Chambers - I'm 54 and some young guy told me I was "taking up space young people could use " and that "old people should be put down." He looked younger than my daughter who turns 22 tomorrow. I told him he probably wouldn't agree with that when he gets to 54. But it made me feel older than dirt.... lol!
Hey, don't dwell or be upset with the stuff you didn't get. Sometimes this may happen. Be happy you saved alot of stuff. You did good. HB!!
Thank you for saving what you could from the landfill. Whoever owned those things appreciates you, dear!!! Happy Birthday, darling!!!!
On to the next Young Lady! There are more goodies waiting on you. Happy Birthday!!
I would love your items... Lol... So sorry you have no one to cherish your items
Penny Rainer she just sells all that shit!
She also donates a lot of it too. Better than filling up the landfill!
Where do you live? I'd be blessed to take your stuff!
I would love your vintage items. Vintage stuff is just better and cool to think about in my opinion 😁
That was emotional, but you’re only one person. You do what you can. Have a wonderful birthday. 🎂
When my uncle died he had cash hidden in almost every other envelope and letter ,,, it was astounding,,, my mother and I found over $ 50 thousand
Our Grandma hid her diamond rings in the baking powder cans with the baking powder. No one knew. Grandpa asked if they got her rings? They asked where they were.... All were already taken to the landfill/dump. They used their car trunk for a bank.
@@Irish-Triplet :( my goodness how sad but who the heck could know.
I can't imagine how often these things happen
holy crap really?? was he wealthy? like did he have a rich life going on world trips etc? cos he apparently COULD have!
@@Irish-Triplet what?? so nobody got her diamond rings? they were in the powder cans? and grandpa dumped the kitchen stuff? oh geez. so sad. so did grandpa tell u the jewels were in the baking powder cans?
My mom put money in books. Looks like your having fun. Wish I could have been helping you.
My grandmother used to sell Avon when I was growing up. She used to give me Sweet Honesty cologne as gifts and it was my favorite cologne when I was around 13 years old. That was a long time ago. LOL
My anxiety was through the roof the whole time just waiting for the trash man to show up 😅😅
Patience H OMG me too! lol
When the trash truck was coming around the corner!! Omg, nerve racking!!
Patience H haha mine too, I was listening for a big truck coming or someone walking out of an apartment!!!!! lol
Me too!
Me too...how fun is this
So happy that you are back!
I’ve missed you and your videos!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY sweet lady!!!
Sweet Honesty! One of my favorites back in the day
Someone passed away. Prayers and thoughts for that person
Emma Philomena Hopefully someone nice will take care of her jewelry, so sad to see it all in the garbage 😢May she Rest In Peace 🙏💐❤️
Or moved to a care home. They are only allowed to take so much with them.
Or evicted
I bet she sold Avon at some point. You think?
RIP good lady.
Look on line there are vintage Avon sites and serious collectors who would be willing to purchase these treasures.
Happy Birthday 🎂🎈
I use have alot vintage Avon perfume bottles. When I move they got lost. I was little sad and got over it.
God bless.
The popcorn popper would also be cute as an end table, put a piece of glass or wood on the top.. cute with plants too..
If she's selling it, keep it tarnished. Surrender17 is correct.
WATCHING YOU'RE VIDEOS FOR SOME REASON IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY CUZ YOUR SUCH SWEET AND LIVING HUMAN BEING.SO GLAD YOU SAFE ALOT BUT SO SAD TO SEE ALL THAT GO TO THE LANDFILLS AND SEEING YOU ALMOST CRIED BROKE MY HEART IAM LIKE YOU VERY SENSITIVE 💔.BUT THE END OF THE THE VIDEOS SEEN UR HAPPY FACE GOT ME HAPPY . MANY BLESSINGS AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. ENJOY UR BIRTHDAY 🎂🎈 SWEETIE
Happy birthday. Tomorrow is my son’s birthday too.
“They threw all that good stuff in the landfill” “I’m not crying, you’re crying”.
You looked really sad
James Williams happy bday to ur son
My old life could be in a landfill... God bless you for finding treasure in what others threw out. Love you
Also, you can run a magnet through jewelry. Gold and silver won't be magnetic.
I felt your heartbreak when the dumpster tipped. Really enjoy your videos my mom has the same passion.
It's insane that a person's whole life's worth of belongings can be put into trash bags and dumped into a landfill.
That happens when someone dies suddenly or if the person knew they were dying but didn't start giving their loved ones their treasures or have old clothes sent to thrift stores
Happy Birthday, kiddo!! That popcorn stand would make an awesome planter like u said or u could put a top on it for an interesting conversation table!! 🎂🎂🎂
You did your best, girl! What else can you do? Dont be so hard on yourself !
I wore sweet honesty as a teenager I'm now in my 60's and a former Avon rep
Dawn Lindgron Sams here! I’m 55. My mom was an Avon lady and I loved her giving me Sweet Honesty perfume and all the other goodies 💜💜💜
I wore Avon when I was a girl as well! I sold Avon throughout my 20s and I'm 38 now:)
Me too
Yes, me too. I wore it as a teen, smelled so good and innocent.
I still use it
Ohh mann!!! I wish I was there with you I would just Dive right in and just keep handing you stuff after stuff. Plus I will tell that garbage man to hold up lemme get some more.... ,,gehehehe! Seriously though you did good dont feel bad. I was feeling the same emotions as you did when I saw the truck but just remember you will have days like this again but keep going it dont end just yet.

Oh my goodness the popcorn maker! That would be amazing redone with some wood on top and used as a cabinet! 😍 Love your videos so much.
We need to see a part 2 pls
Right? Just know there is more loot in them bags!
YES!!! I really hope she does!
Yessssss
Looks like someone cleaned out a apt. They must have passed away. Good thing that you saved some of it.
They didn't necessarily pass away. Sometimes either people don't retrieve their belongings, have space when moving, personal problems with others, etc. I have mode a lot of money selling items found in a trash can.
I think why you are so fortunate at dumpster diving is because you are such a sweet person. You always think of others. I am impressed..
We need to see part 2 of this.......PLEASE ❤️❤️❤️
One of those clip earrings that looks like a fan-my Mom wore. Sweet Honesty was very popular Avon perfume in the 70s/80s.
kgoak it was very popular when I was in high school in the 70’s! Everyone wore it!
Still is. They've never not made it lol. It's a light "powder" scent. It's always sold at Christmas in the little santa bottles
Cheryl Turgeon and Angel: I know 😀-Grew up with a Mom that loved Avon and that I couldn’t stand the Sweet Honesty. It was so 70s.

Hey Kelly. You do a fantastic job salvaging everything possible that you can. I sincerely felt like you when the trash truck showed up. That would was disappointing. But my, such a haul you found!! I wish you a very Happy Birthday and God bless you and your family.
All that Avon reminded me of my granny. She sold Avon from the 70's until she passed away in the early 90's.
Happy birthday girl! You are one of my favorite RUclipsrs. Keep up with the great content.
I felt sad for you when I heard the garbage truck coming. You did rescue alot, I was rooting for you all the way. Sending my love. Happy Dumpster Diving!
The amounts of recyclables in the trash makes me so sad
Trizocbs there’s only a few kind of plastics that can be recycled anyhow. But I
Do
Agree it is very sad

Couldn't have happened to a more well deserved person congratulations 💐
I ❤️rewatching ur videos...they make me see the reality of what people do with one’s life...it truly looks like someone passed away and the loved ones just didn’t care about anything 😭
Kelly- you made my day w/ this trip down memory lane! I think you got a perfect birthday. Enjoy your B.day, Baby Girl. I lookforward to your next video (hopefully a part 2 to today's video?!) p.s. Renoir is an artist.
That popcorn box could make a cute planter. Lol and I’m editing to add I said that before you mentioned it. Happy birthday.
Wow girl Amazing Find's can't believed Mostly all we're vintage Things I've always loved Beautiful lovely vintage old Thing's.... Thanks...
I just looked up the sold listings of that Lancôme Magie perfume and there was one for over $400 😵
You got the old lady score! Avon - lace slips- AWESOMENESS
Happy birthday to you, I am old and have been collecting Avon since 1960 I hope none of my kids trash it Sad to see this happen
Just remember they are your memories--not your kids. After cleaning my Mom's house out over the summer I have started going through my own stuff. I won't leave my daughter with the same mess. Start going through things and explaining to your kids what they are. Ask if they actually want the collection.
Oh girl! I wanted to cry with you:-(
You did great getting what you did!
Oh my, I'm feeling so sad as well. Your poor heart! I'm so sorry. Huggz from Vancouver Canada.
Can’t believe people throw so much away when the could donate
I agree....
Agree. Giving to friends or charity or reusing things is a foreign concept to some...
I use the honeysuckle lotion from Bath & Body Works and it kind of resembles the Avon one, but I’d love to have the actual one she wore ❤️
Every time I smell honeysuckles it reminds me of her (and lilacs, they used to have a lilac bush near the front of the house and it was her favorite)
Lilacs 😌. My childhood backyard. Love lilacs 💜
Let me know if you come across one that smells like the real thing!!
There is a place online if you give them the name of a past scent they can replicate it 100% Google it,any perfume you can EVER imagine.righg down to loves baby soft,or old Victoria Secret ones.or Famous Perfumers.
You HAVE to do a "Pat Two" for this naul. the suspence is killing me lol AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!
You held back the tears pretty good, I did cry a bit as I felt your emotion. Such a shame people just don't donate.
Happy birthday my favorite dumpster diver 😘
Missed you 👍🏻. There is a market for vintage Avon 🤷♀️why I don’t know 🤔
When is the last time you saw anything from Avon? I'm a rep and let me tell you, it's not your mother's Avon anymore! Stop by my estore and check it out...youravon. com/RJWertz (take out the space, of course)
You’re a sweetheart for caring about the landfill. I’ve not had enough people in my life to care. Welcome 2020, with new friends.
It is from an older women. The heart is a charm for pearls. It snaps on.
The “ oyster necklace” is actually a small abalone shell. The chain might be gold. I would buy that.
Agree. It is hard to watch knowing the last dumpster dive still had such great treasures left inside.
What do you actually do with the personal Hygiene products? You don’t use it do you?
SWEET HONESTY OMG HIGHSCHOOL 1970'S LOL i got a camera like that for my bday in jr hi lol
My best friend use to wear sweet honesty in high school but in the '90s👍😁

Sweet Honesty was my first "grown up" perfume. I got it for my 13th birthday in 1974
I love your heart sister... and that you took a moment to reflect on an unknown life and all that was... 🖤
The thought of dumpster diving gives me the creeps. So why did I watch the entire video? You have a pleasant personality and you look as if you really enjoy searching. Best of luck to you.
