- I only had 45 minutes to dive, but luckily I hit the trash picking jackpot! This was an apartment complex dumpster and EVERYTHING in this video came from only ONE dumpster! I can't believe how much they threw away. All the xbox games and controllers? So wild.

I think people moving run out of time to pack and they're going out of town so won't donate; find the nearest dumpster and in it goes; She's where a lot of college students don't want to be bothered, don't want to pack stuff to haul home so they just dumpster it

People also throw things out into the dumpster if they’re contaminated with things like bed bug eggs or fleas. Might not be the best idea to take clothes from a dumpster

If you put something over the opening of the dumpster like that freee bird tot bag you can lean up against that instead of dumpsters and you won’t get dirty can even use cardboard if you need to

yes, she could carry a piece of a shower curtain or rug in her car to drape over the side; thing is in Tx those dumpsters get hot as firecrackers in the summer so you have to do something like that anyway. I carry a paper sack for that. Just pulled about ten shirts out of a dumpster, washed with a little lysol, dried and folded, going to a charity shop run by one of our local doctors here in NE Tx

Actually she sells them on either eBay or Poshmark unless they aren't quite good enough, then I believe she does donate the remainder. Kelly, correct me if I'm wrong on that. Whatever the case, she has a big heart from what I can tell.
FYI thrift stores take lots of clothes to the landfill..but it gives it a chance at a second life at least:)

So many people have are obsessing over germs and bugs and viruses, I can guarantee you all, that if you exchanged money, used an ATM machine, went to use a public toilet, held the handle of a shop, restaurant, hotel door, went to the doctor, hospital for an appointment today, your body is also fighting off viruses and bugs too.. just saying.♥️

Amen...I actually was handed a 20 dollar bill saturated in pee from a man at HEB. Thought it was just water saturated but no....pee. He was homeless and I knew it but come on...

Really, there are more germs on door knobs. Germs aren't the problem, it's the internal condition of your body. If you eat a healthy vegan diet, your body won't be full of toxic slime that is the breeding ground for germs.

it's odd but I've heard so many people say they needed something and sure enough it turned up in the dumpster; for me it's vacuum cleaners on the side of the road that I can clip the cord and put in my cord stash for when copper prices go up

In the box there is a Xbox 360 power brick, I've seen them go for about $50 on eBay.
Dont put that stuff on your bed! There's NO telling what all is on the bags and on those clothes, etc. Bed bugs, dumpster gunk, whatever! Also, I dont think that iron is vintage. I'm pretty sure it's just made to look old.

Big haul! But I wish you wouldn’t put dumpster bags and items on your bed, guest room or not.
Check for bed bugs or other pests outside first. That pretty coverlet on your bed needs to be cleaned now.
I guess when you handle trash often, you get somewhat inured to it, but to see all that stuff on the formerly clean bed just grosses me out.
Its also a good idea to leave a window open in your car in case you get locked out.

the thing is, when you pull stuff out, you can see right then if it's nasty, filthy, buggy, roachy or not and if so--leave it. Much of what she pulls out --and I do the same-- is in bags. What's inside never comes in contact with the dumpster or other bags. But I do sort outside and I do actually sort at the dumpster itself usually. And if it does not look clean- no way will I bother. Also--lysol into the wash water, lysol on shoes I wash beforehand. People throw stuff away without even looking in the sacks, lots of times, esp when moving. They empty drawers into bags and don't even look. Loose change, dollar bills, pocket knives, anything you can imagine including jewerly- they just dump it

Maybe there’s something that a child placed in the fan. When you tilted the fan it moved out of the way of the fan blades, great score on the fan.
I was thinking it could likely be loose and need to be tightened, so it is off kilter when erect and when tilted it's leaning so the weight is taken off of it?
I would’ve loved to find so many pens. A homeless shelter in a town near me accepts those for donation and says they are always needed. Love your videos !

It is so much fun watching you dive especially the way you show how you go through everything with us. As dedicated as you are to this you deserve to find good things. I live outside the city limits in a large upscale neighborhood. On garbage days you could find enough furniture to fill your house . They throw away anything and everything here. I also have thrown away lots of very nice clothing,lawn furniture, and more. Usually someone comes and takes it all before garbage pick up. When I throw nice things away I set them next to my cans so others can see it and get it if they want. We also have a thrift company that will pick up donations if you call and arrange a pick up.I admire your dedication and enthusiasm it is uplifting to watch. You need a new name though,something catchy like, “dumpster diva”, “dumpster diver queen”, or “ treasure to dive for.

Don't sort on the bed, find a spot in the garage, patio etc. I keep the passenger side window down. Carry a rake or find a broom handle (w/o the broom attached) put in a hook on the end. Keep a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol in the car. Some band-aids, extra gloves. Take a step ladder. Wear long pants (please!).
Make sure you're up on your tetanus shot!
When you get so comfortable with trash so you just sent it down all over your guest bed.

So sad people don't take the time to donate them so many in need. You make my day am 81 yrs old and just love watching you so refreshing keep up good work. Sometimes want to jump right in dumpsteer with you . You make it so exciting.
She lives in a college town so when students graduate and have to move they often rather throw perfectly good things away rather than having to move everything or lug to a donation bin down the road... Laziness at its finest.
Some students have no one to help them as they live in other states and other countries. ❤️

One other thing I find amusing are people selling things online, they often put shoes on the counter and clothes on the floor. No telling what those shoes may have walked on. I haven’t always done this, but now I take my shoes off at the front door. And because of that when people come over and see my shoes at the door, they start taking their shoes off too, good thing I don’t go to the door nude!!!!!😂😂😂

5. Do you wipe down or sanitize after you dive like today you went to brunch right after - did you wipe down in the car??

Make sure to grab any tools if you see them. New tools are kinda expensive and many people like older tools since they are usually built very well.
Honey go and get a cheap rubber mat like a welcome mat and bring it with you rolled up and just drape it over the edge of any dumpster rubber side down so you don't get messy or just use your car's floor mats as well!
You should go back to that dumpster after lunch with your friends go home & get your grabber but always keep it in the car with you. I another RUclipsr said if you find Levi Jeans & the little tag by the back pocket is all capital letters LEVI they can be worth $100 or more. And keep a spray mist bottle of smell goods so you can sprits yourself if you are going out. LOL Love ya have a great time with your friends.

You find a lot of electrical cords. Do you ever recycle the ones you can't use? You can get .30 cents a pound for the cords if you cut off the ends. Cords add up quickly.

I know exactly how you feel when you find something that you've been wanting! I recently with to this just between friends consignment sale, literally like a whole bunch of garage sales under one roof. I was going to party City to buy my daughter her Halloween costume ($40) found it there for $2.50!!! I was so excited for that..... I was just so shocked that I had found it😁
I found a little girl's Halloween outfit just yesterday in a dumpster; accompanying hat never taken out of original bag and that's going to be donated this wk to a charity run by one of our local doctors; it should have never been thrown in a dumpster but donated to begin with
If you don't want to keep an electronic item and plan to bin it, cut the cable and plug off. You can gather a bag of cable and plugs quite easily for the scrap yard. It all adds up.

If you would carry side cutters to cut cords of things you don't want. You can take to the recycler to get around a 100 dollars for a garbage can full. It doesn't tale long if you think of all you run into..

Based on the fact that there was not only clothes thrown away, I would assume that the person was moving and just decided to throw their things into the trash. My neighbors just moved out and their trash can was full of clothing, shoes, electronics, office supplies, toys, things still in boxes, etc.

Yes, we say no way but that's the way some people are and your not going to change them. Maybe she was raised that way. Maybe her parents didn't say don't put your dirty shoes on the bed. She young she'll learn, especially if something happens. You know how a lot of young people are.

A good reason to keep the window rolled down is because the constant loud sounds of you opening and closing the car door allows people to hear you so your window down draws less attention to you☺

Maybe get an apron, like a black restaurant apron, to keep in the car to put on when you don’t want to soil your good clothes on an impromptu stop at a dumpster. Bonus, they usually have large pockets on the front of them too. 😊

The bag for linens that was in there is great for storing things. Very thick with zipper. Next one I see grab it❤️
You can donate single shoes to Goodwill and they send them to organizations that need them.
You can always keep the cords if the devices don’t work. Sell the cords to the scrap yard for $$. I’d save up a whole bunch which shouldn’t be hard for you since you probably find a lot. But scrapping at least the cords can bring in some income. This was a great score in just a few minutes. Of course you probably make a ton more reselling but at least the copper wouldn’t go to the landfill. Great finds! 👍

I have the same fan.. I actually took mine apart same issue (it fell) and was able to place everything back correctly inside.. No more issues after that. Entries are a good skater brand!
Hello , I just wanted to bring up something that you said in an earlier video that you don't bring anything into your house past the garage until you have put all the clothing into the washing machine and on hot water so that you don't bring any critters , and I noticed that you took everything into your bedroom this time . I hope that you are lucky and nothing came in with you .
