Let's not conveniently forget what Valve had done in the past, from creating the game and making major updates from 2007 up to 2017 and without putting a subscription model on this game, also creating the systems to allow the community to freely create, upload and make money from accepted content

@Lethal_Spoon It will never "balance out" they made everything TF2 possible, from the kickass voice actors they selected for the classes to everything else, they deserve full credit and time doesn't simply take that away from them because people are dissatisfied they aren't paying full attention to a game they kept running for 24 YEARS!
9 years of development before release + 15 years after release, if you were 18 developing this game from the start you would be 42 years old!

Robin Atkin Downes is such an underrated voice actor and deserves so much more credit for his work.
He and Nathan are still kicking ass a decade later, and I'm really happy.
He is the least underrated voice actor from the TF2 cast

i met robin at manchester mcm expo in 2019 and also went to his panel. when he realised nearly everyone there knew tf2 he wouldn't stop talking about how fun voicing the medic is and how sad he was that, because they're all from different places and never recorded in the same studio, he'd never met the cast of tf2 in person. iirc the only person he said he'd met before who voiced anybody in tf2 was nolan north, and that was only because he'd worked on other things with him.
seeing him getting the cast together over zoom to make more tf2 content 3 years later makes me so happy. this man loves tf2 so much and it's awesome

I don't even play the game, but I love seeing everything about it and what the community does, and I can immediately tell that when voice actors care more for the game THAN THE ACTUAL DEVELOPERS, it shows how important the game is for some communities
Yea. Respect and gratefulness, I mean heck, wish the company actually does something then letting the game die, it's a really good game, plus, shows the humor hat the actors puts into the characters
it's really cool hearing there's more people who don't even play tf2 who just enjoy the community and love hearing about the game ! i've only played it a couple of times and i don't think i know how to do much in it, but the game and characters and world have been a big presence online for most of the past decade and it made me sad when it felt like i just didn't hear about it much anymore
i've been watching a lot more tf2 videos recently because i just really enjoy hearing it discussed and as a subject i want to know more on, and people like squimjim have videos i really like to relax to ! finding out not only the player fans but also the voice actors who brought it to life are still keeping things going even now is inspiring and magical, and i think tf2 really shows just how powerful love for something can be, keeping it going even when valve haven't been doing anything for it for a while

Hes a great man, he made a video that was about Medic teaching people how to deal with the pandemic and even gave tribute to Rick May’s Soldier in it. No one will ever top his role as TF2’s medic.

Think about how long TF2 has been out. 14 years of hearing these guy's voices, over a decade of hearing them in game and sentence mixing for Gmod animations, SFM, memes and we never got bored, which is a testament to how good the voices are. Now, after all this time, the voice actors themselves are jumping into the content creation ring. This is why I love this community so much. So much heart, so much dedication. Thank you to anyone who's ever made anything Tf2 related, you've added to this great big muck about that is the Tf2 community, thing's wouldn't be the same without you.

Thank you voice actors for bringing life back into tf2 where we once thought wouldn't happen in a long long time.
I also always knew Robin as the VA for Kaz Miller in MGS, and sometimes it caught me off guard thinking "Oh wait this is also Medic's VA"

I always loved the medic, in the game and in the lore. I wouldn't say he's my favourite, that goes to the demoman- but in all seriousness, it makes the character even more awesome because I also like to see more of the person behind it, and not just the fictional character that the game intended to portray. It's hard to describe, but it's just something about the enthusiasm or role that makes it enjoyable. Being able to meet the "medic" is cool yk. It doesn't stop there, lots of voice actors, including in the TF2 franchise, have done so well to make game or show or movie just great. I didn't even know that Robin shared the voice of many characters in famous shows, I only search up the voice actor whenever I spot it quickly enough in the credits or when the voice sounds recognizable, like when I first started watching Futurama, I heard Bender's voice the first time and I thought it sounded like Jake's from Adventure Time, and that's when I discovered John DiMaggio. Voice actors man, something about them just makes things great

He's also Emperor Nefarious from Ratchet and Clank, literally recognized his voice the first time i played the game.
He is just the coolest voice actor ever and the medic is my favorite character from his work.

Robin Atkin Downes is ALWAYS working on something, the man is "passion for voice acting" incarnate. I can think of few men who love their job and are as good at it as he is. He's definitely one of those voices I love hearing whenever it comes up.
Voice actors like him is the reason I want to be in the field of animation.
