- They've still got it! This is an edit i made from yesterday's get-together of the TF2 voice actors! They all did a TF2 comic and this is the one Robin Atkin Downes and Gary Schwartz dubbed together as Medic and Demoman!! THIS IS MIND-BLOWING TO ME! MAYBE ILL DO THE OTHERS TOO! make sure to get a print on streamily if you havn't

Oml Robin Downes’s voice as the medic is so fantastic. Also the fact his mic quality being good also helps lmao.
Robin Atkin Downes is a big name professional actor. But I dont think Gary Schwartz does like, any voice acting anymore. Valve has a habit of usually finding small time people.
If I'm not mistaken I believe Robin streams semi regularly

Demo’s has aged a fair bit, so his voice is pretty different now. Still sounds like the character, but older
Medic is still on point
medic sounds like he aged the least prolly coz all them souls
I think the demo also just doesn't have the best sound quality in the world
Yeah in this case the voice for demo man is actually the same, but the recording; coming bound to both the microphone used and the reverb of the room recorded in definitely affects the outcome of the voice, compared to medic record, which sounds like it was done in a proper studio; no reverb at all on it.
Yeah man, just had my friend buy a new headset yesterday and after about 2 years I couldn't believe how different he sounds. If I just met him in game, I couldn't tell it's him.
Well, Heavy & demoman share the same VA and Mr. Schwartz is 69 years old. We are used to hear gary voicing Heavy and Demo in 2007.
Love the reverb when demoman said "don't remember things, got-"
Awesome to hear that the VA's still got it after all these years.
Even more awesome that that wasn't an effect, Gary can reverb at will. Not easy at his age!

It’s unfortunate that this was made after Rick May’s passing.
I truly love to see all the attention TF2 is still getting. Valve doesn't care about it anymore but the fans and voice actors are keeping it alive.

Always loved how dialogue was written in the comics and I appreciate listening to the original VAs' takes on them.
I always wondered if the tf2 voice actors ever did a dialogue with their characters' voices in the same room or if they recorded each one individually and then stitched them together. This video solved my doubts.
Actually they didn't talk together for anything! Even spy's lines were all done separately. Even for meet the team vids and expiration date

There now is a video where the heavy, medic, sniper and administrator VAs all meet up and goof around in-character

It makes the comic flow much more naturally
Every merc's voice actor is perfect for his role, but Medic's VA especially is an absolute joy to listen to.
He can definitely get the voice with ease, but it sounds at times like he needs a little directing.
Just remember, we could have had a TV show, if Valve wasn't so bad at meeting deadlines.
Imagine the MEMES we would have today. Even expiration date had so many quotable lines

I don't completely blame them. A lot of work goes into creating quality animations, and putting out something rushed and unpolished might've been worse than not having it at all.
@@violet321 Expiration Date was the pilot for the show. Its just Valve took too damn long to finish it so the contract was kinda just thrown out.

I love how the actors sometimes improvises like the Medic sometimes laughing in between lines. It just makes everything feel so alive.
This gives me such a warm feeling inside seeing how the community does appreciate these people and tries to get as much of them immortalized as we can

@@Xeller_real he might be referring to how soldier has some lines dubbed by Nolan North (I think?) during Expiration Date because Rick May couldn’t record them all due to throat issues at the time

Remember, the voice actor for the demo and heavy (same person) is probably olde than your grandpa, and the demo is hurtful for his voice cords, but still came through for us.

I've always wanted to have the comics be dubbed by the voice actors themselves, even if it's only a small section
Man, if only the original VAs did an entire comic dub of the TF2 comics when Rick May was alive, it would've golden.
I mean, Soldier could still be budded, Soldier has a different voice actor that did some lines in Expiration date, although I don't remember his name.
@@cristianovogt5586 Nolan North. I'm pretty sure he also did the Engineer in Expiration date, and he's also the voice of Merasmus, Bombinomicon, Blutarch, Redmond and Greymann. He's in so many other video games too. Guy is insane.

This has to be one of the best TF2 related things I've seen in a while. The fact that this comic has never been continued is downright depressing, maybe now more people will find out about the TF2 comics and give them a read, perhaps grow more interest on them because they're honestly great. Perfect mix of humor, gratuitous violence and seriousness when necessary (like Spy and Scout's scene). I love that the VAs have so much fun and still love doing the voices, at least I hope they do! They're honestly great people.

I've been on many live streams, but this one is the only one i really enjoyed and stayed till the end, i really love TF2, his community and his wonderful voice actors.

I was there when this livestream happened, even asked for og voiceover of the comics.
I'm so glad I managed to witness it, been playing the game since 2011 and to see these voice actors actively expressing a desire to voice these characters again made me feel really hopeful for the future of TF2.
I think it deserves its place as one of the most influential games of all time and for sure an eternal one in my heart.
Also rest in peace Rick May. "You were good son, real good, maybe even the best!"

The fact that the community literally got the real voice actors to act in a scene from comics while Valve still didn't finish the last issue of the "bi-monthly" comics, even tho the last one was released in 2017 and the final one is labeled as "coming soon"...

I thought that, when the Demoman asked why he doesn't remember anything, the medic was gonna say it was due to his excessive alcohol consumption, but brain scooping is definitely a better reason

A small detail of the Medic’s delivery at 1:14 that I find so interesting is the pauses he makes while listing the types of eyes the mercs fought, almost as if he can’t find the words to portray his exasperation. It may be since he’s German so translating both the words AND expressions into English would take more time. It could be non-intentional but it shows how much Robins dedicates himself to his character

I feel that Gary's voice sounds a bit too low, and of course it's low quality, but Robin's literally sounds like it was ripped from the game itself!
