I haven't even heard about Solia until watching this video, but I can already tell that I would've stanned Solia for sure. I love the vibe the members have and the editing they had was so great and high quality, what a shame that they disbanded in 5 days. Must've been really unfair to have trained and prepared getting excited and being disbanded so soon.
@@elmin82 I don't think they've disbanded. They're in hiatus due to the bullying scandal though, haven't released much after "Flamingo" and one member (she's got nothing to do with it) will participate in a girl group survival show very soon.
Hey Ploopy there's a group I want you to look at if you haven't yet. Aila was a girl group that disbanded one hour after their debut stage. It's really awful what happened to them
we'll need confirmation from the girls for Space Music's version of the story - but it's plausible - hundreds of trainees never get to debut - if Space Music arranged to let the girls "debut" - if only for a few days - it might satisfy the girls my first thought when i heard about their short debut was to wonder what the contract with the girls said - was there some advantage to the company to let them debut - then shut them down - such as repayment of debt - i would expect stories of animosity by the girls if that were so - and lawsuits - but so far nothing it makes more sense that the company had financial troubles and couldn't maintain a group - poor business management seems to be too common with these agencies - too many are run by former artists who may not be remotely competent in financial matters - it would explain that while the response to their debut seemed positive - they still disbanded btw - i think the song "Dream" stands apart from typical kpop - it was catchy with a very good musical arrangement - it woulda been a nice start - instead its a nice finale
There doesn't seem to be a terrible lot wrong with the songwriting per se, i have heard a lot worse from a lot bigger companies who should have known a lot better. The one thing that there is syncopation that doesn't work with the vocal melody very well, it sounds like it stumbles in the least opportune moment during the rap. I like what the producer was trying to do here, but ultimately it's a little bit of a faceplant that one, the song simply doesn't have enough dedicated space to develop a rhythmic structure like that. But there are some very objectionable production aspects. At several spots, crunchy unpleasant clipping is heard, and then one second you have nice clean vocals and then another it goes hard on automatic pitch correction and it's just eye wateringly painful, hits you right in the uncanny valley. Like, that's all easy fixes, no major problem at all, just someone (who isn't the songwriter/producer) should have listened to it once and pointed that out, it's all very salvageable, shouldn't even need a re-recording session.
The song woulda have been good but lol budget issues I guess (the graphics especially lol). The girls if given another platform with a good company as their support then they can do wayyy better. They seem to have good potential!
I remember watching the Solia debut when it first released and being majorly disappointed in the bad editing but really loving the song!^^ anyways, stan hi cutieeee
I love your videos because you always have unique ideas and so much research! Can you make a video on the evolution of kpop ? Kpop is so different than what it was 2005-2010. No more heels, same clothes, simple choreography, live vocals 🙈
No doubt when the company saw that they were blowing up they tried REALLY hard to negotiate the girls into a debut contract, that would explain their liking comments about the group returning to activities. Overall though, it's probably a GOOD example of a company not driving a group through a years-long contract that the group members didn't want to be in.
As a fan of both yours and Midnight Theories' channels I am so glad this collab happened ! Your contents complement each other so well and I hope you'll do that again in the future if the experience was positive to both of you
In my opinion, the company seems so sketchy. (I'm not really familiar of many things in the kpop industry but I do now that it's all about 'perfection' and its destroying the mental health of anyone who tries to become an idol. Or even if you successfully become an idol.) Just by watching the MV, it's obvious that the people who started it aren't professionals at all (Even Ploopy's editing is 100x better). They don't have a sufficient budget to support/train the girls properly just like the other bigger labels/companies so why bother to start a music company if you're not familiar with how it works, right? The owners and the people behind it is kinda shady because it seems like they're just taking the trainees' money and rush the training until they debut and then just disband them afterwards so the members can't complain since they actually debuted according to the contracts they sign.
I wanted to comment this on their MV but the comment was turn off: The production quality of their mv, my god, is horrendous. Like a youtuber content in the 2018. Why is this company mistreating wonderful girls like Solia??? I can see their vocalist is damn good. :( :(
Hi Ploopy, I was wondering if maybe you could make a video about a kpop group called May wish (this group was on one of your videos about the least viewed kpop MV's. I liked the song that they made but I don't know what happened to them.
Yeah, I love their debut that I actually use them on one of my "parody" videos. I think they unofficially disbanded in my opinion. The fact that their company is the same company that created Good Day (now CIGNATURE), that debuted Rolly (broadway bop!) then had a "hiatus" for 1 year, then announce that they are rebranding...
@@BooEntertainment2019 I don't know what happened to Maywish, but I did some research and I think the members left the group. The groups members are Anna, Jelly, Hyoin, and soeun. I heard that the company is still selling their albums of music without their permission, but I'll do more digging. (tysm for the information that you gave me about C9 entertainment)
I actually before u posted a video, about 2 weeks ago, I got an article on the w Qoos that u have sponsered a lot of times! It was heartbreaking to see they disbanded so early! Btw ILYSM
I think the CEO/company may have thought that they could convince the members to change their minds about leaving by saying "see people like you! We can make it work!"
Your videos are awesome. You always manage to bring up groups I never heard of (like Hollo), and I collected info on more than 600 girl groups already so far. But honestly, that explanation by the management is absolute nonsense.
I just randomly came back to this. I loved Solia so much. If you watch my RANKING ALL THE GIRL GROUP DEBUTS OF 2021 video, you'll see by Solia's rank as to how much I loved them :(. Still sad that they're gone. But imma continue to support my girls HI CUTIE & wait for a LIKE ME comeback, because I am hopeful that, that day will come :)
“The success depends on the experience of your company” well.. BIGHIT and BTS existsss !!!! Came from nowhere and THE LEGENDARY POP STARS THEY ARE !!! 🔥
But if it wasn't for bighit they wouldn't even have had the resources or connections to release music or perform on music shows in the first place, so I believe part of their success can still be attributed to their company

it makes more sense that the company had financial troubles and couldn't maintain a group - poor business management seems to be too common with these agencies - too many are run by former artists who may not be remotely competent in financial matters - it would explain that while the response to their debut seemed positive - they still disbanded

No doubt when the company saw that they were blowing up they tried REALLY hard to negotiate the girls into a debut contract, that would explain their liking comments about the group returning to activities. Overall though, it's probably a GOOD example of a company not driving a group through a years-long contract that the group members didn't want to be in.
its sad i was acc rlly interested in them :/ but wow my two fav kpop youtubers
It’s so funny having ploopy or midnight theories plug each others videos for rhe collab when I had the second video queued up next 😂💖
As a fan of both yours and Midnight Theories' channels I am so glad this collab happened ! Your contents complement each other so well and I hope you'll do that again in the future if the experience was positive to both of you
I hope SOLIA will come back but maybe as solo group or in another company😭😭
I knew them, when they were active!!! I knew them eversince they were announced, during pre-debut hahaha
Why would anyone audition for this company??? I wouldn't set myself up like that to ultimately now even last a week after debut.
U DESERVE SO MANY LIKES AND VIEWS 😔
In my opinion, the company seems so sketchy. (I'm not really familiar of many things in the kpop industry but I do now that it's all about 'perfection' and its destroying the mental health of anyone who tries to become an idol. Or even if you successfully become an idol.)
Just by watching the MV, it's obvious that the people who started it aren't professionals at all (Even Ploopy's editing is 100x better).
Great documentary! Really well done!
@@BooEntertainment2019 ( I also herd that the girls are active on insta)
It is! Local news here in the Phillipines released an article online about them.
I actually before u posted a video, about 2 weeks ago, I got an article on the w
Qoos that u have sponsered a lot of times! It was heartbreaking to see they disbanded so early! Btw ILYSM
@Xi Xi it's Wang yiren from everglow!
@Xi Xi hey np! Bg tw thx for the reply hehe
*btw
@Xi Xi np! U too
i literally watch you and midnight theories all day i never knew you were close
I think the CEO/company may have thought that they could convince the members to change their minds about leaving by saying "see people like you! We can make it work!"
Damn :((( this hurts so much 😭😭😭😭I was happy for them
I don't know why but i love your videos even it is 33mins Or much more 🥺
Love you☺
I find it so fun I got this ✨5 days later✨ in my recommendations 👀
The collab we always needed! You and midnight theories should do another video in the future!
Thankfully the members gained recognition ❤️
Your videos are awesome. You always manage to bring up groups I never heard of (like Hollo), and I collected info on more than 600 girl groups already so far.
But honestly, that explanation by the management is absolute nonsense.
Love your shirt girl
Loved This Video Evangeline!!! So cool you and Midnight Theories collabed on this video!! 😁😁😁
Hopefully these girls can sing for us again under another label. Why? Because that is what we want, what we really really want
