When it played, I immediately said "oh.. so that's where that beat came from" 😆 I remember hearing it before coz of some popular dance. I don't know what the dance was called but I remember seeing it in some variety show.😄
As weird as this journey was, I would like to commend Soa because she was committed, she said "I'm going down with the ship" and I can respect that lol
She also seems to be really talented, I feel bad for her she may have made it big in a different group under a different company with her dedication and skills
She was a decent dedicated idol in places who can't do justice to their talent. Glad she still passionate in her works, hope the best of luck to her :(
Honestly they seem like great girls who had a good time. I think it’s funny how someone can debut as an idol in Korea, garner some attention, then end up working part time at a grocery store. Imagine having a former idol coworker. I hope they look back fondly on their time as idols…
There's a few who have left the industry actually along with their groups for a normal life and also for the sake of their mental health, props to them because this industry isn't easy to deal with especially considering how toxic fans can get always tearing down idols images/bodies online. Complaining over idiotic things and always sparking false accusations/rumors, career ruining bullying scandals.
one of the members of my fave group (Sunghak/Bigstar) recently got certified as a personal trainer (if I read the Korean right) Cheezy from Crispi Crunch opened a clothing store after not being able to do much music because covid Sean Lee (from Superstar K, season 2) went from being in a couple ballad groups to now being a security guard for idols 2 of the members from short lived group Wind Hold Venus are now married and have kids. and these are just a few former idols I follow or talk to, there's countless more
Honestly the plastic surgery concept is kind of genius and great satire on the Kpop industry as a whole. Isn't it ironic how much hate they go for publicly apparently getting plastic surgery for a comeback, when that is actually very common amoung idols but they don't talk about it and deny it! It makes it even better that they didn't appear to get plastic surgery at all 😅
Yeah they killed three birds with one stone. Got a surgery they probably would have gotten anyway, an advertising deal, and a music video, all at the same time. And at least they were honest about it!
I thought it was completely genius & their songs were actually pretty great, but the public hated it. Hilariously, if they had kept their surgeries a secret, there would have been endless videos dedicated to speculating if they had surgery or not, & that would have been okay. Honesty should be rewarded! It's so bizarre to me, the treatment of celebrities or idols, all over the world - but especially in Korea!
I feel sorry for them. No one took them serious so they decided to have fun and people complained. They just couldn’t win. 🤷🏻♀️ They have really nice voices.
it's a shame how the plastic surgery concept went; it's actually really clever in a sense, if only they had framed it as a social commentary instead and stirred up controversy that way
Fun Fact: Between Six Bomb's debut and redebut, Navi and Soa debuted as a subunit called DuoFlo. They had an r&b/soul style, and their song Payday was just really cool and demonstrated that the girls really DID have talent. Navi's vocals were great, and Soa's rapping was solid as well.
I used to work at a store that sold latex outfits (don't ask) and yeah, it's no joke pricewise.. its also really time consuming to get in and out of and move around in general in so they were definitely committed to the bit 😂
I feel like their songs would have a whole different reaction if like, PSY (a man, and not under any beauty standards) released it. But get a few young, beautiful women releasing it - its suddenly inappropriate and "controversial".
people will find any reason to hate on female idols for a very tame reason while defending a really problematic male idol it's really sickening me edit: i don't consider PSY problematic at all, just the double standard is ugh...
I heard a bit about this on Midnight's Theories Channel a while back. Honestly it just shows how hard it is to get into the industry and the fact that they were willing to do this type of concept shows how willing they are to make it
I've been waiting for a video to be made about this group. their history is very strange and not often discussed in full, so they've kind of been an enigma even for old nugu groups. like everyone's talked about the plastic surgery concept, but they seldom talk about their other songs (like the one with the AV concept...) or their weird debut history, or how one of the members was part of another very unknown group that released a song titled Butt that is genuinely kind of incredible (the group was called I-REN, btw. i highly reccommend the song). I think I'd like to see one of the members do an interview or something, I can only imagine what being a part of the group was like.
honestly, i am glad that the surgeries turned out well. when i heard about the concept i was scared they might completely mess up their faces. i was literally gonna say i was expecting ollie london, then itnthat exact second you said the same thing. im crying. he's our 'bad surgery' standard
The thing that shocked me is how good quality the surgeries were. Big 3 company surgeries usually don't go the best (Nayeon and Taeyeon's nose jobs with the uneven nostrils come to mind, not that it made them any left gorgeous), so the fact that a tiny company got some natural looking changes is shocking. Still, sucks that they felt they needed to do that for a concept, instead of just doing so privately.
Growing up in the Hardcore/Metal scene and getting into Kpop like 7 years ago is still crazy to me. Knowing a group could get hated on if a music video doesn't have a $500,000 budget or expensive clothes is so odd to me. The fact that a group could fade into nothing if they're not constantly putting out songs is also crazy. In hardcore/metal your music video could be homemade in the garage and we'll still love it. You don't even have to put songs out for years and you'll still be loved.
i'm actually kind of a fan of their "trashy" songs.... like wait 10 years baby and becoming prettier after get stuck in my head every time i hear them and hiccup hiccup is actually one of my favourite kpop songs lmao
These poor girls. None of them deserved this. It's so sad seeing so much talent and potential go to waste... I really hope that they'll achieve all the success and happiness they desire in their life and one day look back at it without regrets ❤️
The thing is though, the chorus of Becoming Pretty After absolutely SLAPS (the "nah nah nah" part especially), like the girls are such talented singers? With slightly better verses, outfits and choreo, it could've been a genuinely popular song that might've charted on its own.
Getting to hear “Greetings, Plofessors” brightened my day. And with Evangeline actually wearing a sausage suit AND the amount of videos we are getting? Spoiled.
I think DJ'ing and club scene is perfect for this group. The actual Kpop scene is sometimes too sterile . 6bomb is all about fun and craziness and that's what the club scene is
I have been a fan of Six Bomb ever since ¨Wait 10 Years Baby¨ . However, thanks to this video I was able to learn more than what I thought I knew. Thanks !!!
Six Bomb in itself is a whole performance art piece and an accidental masterpiece. I think the progression of the group and their concepts as well as the audience's response to them was an unintentional commentary on the industry and maybe even society as a whole. It's sad that they disbanded and are no longer with that company because it would have been interesting to see how much farther they would've pushed the ball and I think we're in desperate need of another group like this right now.
It's very hard for small companies to maintain an idol group, if they're lucky the group may have one or even a few big hits, but the next single may flop and the group goes back to oblivion. Over the years, we have seen so many groups from small companies with extremely talented and beautiful performers - T-ara, GFriend, 4Minute, CLC, AOA, Momoland, etc, and they all disbanded after some years despite reaching the top of various music charts and being mainstream popular once. The only ones that can sustain long-term are big companies and many performers themselves either transition to acting / variety show or quit showbiz altogether due to their age.
That's the industry for you. You can be talented, make great music and have dedication to your group but that doesn't mean it will ever pay off. Some really great groups never get attention so they disband. Some groups disband prior to debut, or quickly after. It's very sad. Being an idol is harder than some think. Really hard. I wish these girls were recognised for their talent.
As weird as SixBomb was, I actually kind of liked them. Dain was my favorite and some of the other girls were talented. I still think Getting Pretty After is such a bop even though I don't like plastic surgery that much lol. Haven't watched the video yet but I know it'll be interesting.
I don’t think people in Korea thought they looked like those sausages, but the other type of “sausages”. I wouldn’t have put it together if I haven’t seen this video about Korean people seeing sexy American videos and they talked about similarities in Korea (in particular, EXID’s Up & Down, with the girls with the balloons: I mean the dance is sexy, but I never got why it was so inappropriate until I saw the balloons looking like the other type of “sausages”). I actually like the black dresses they had (and that’s a compliment, because I feel thin kpop idols (like Itzy’ Lea and Yuna have wonder big dresses and looked like toothpicks in them). Also Soo’s hair from Debut (she’s really pretty, so I don’t get why they would even give her plastic surgery, well if she did, still watching), since it matched her face shape and looked really cool for her. Honestly, I wish she could have been in Evol, because her hair and swagger matched that group (who got one of the worst debut songs ever; like NMIXX (O.O being chosen over Tank), that one song was picked over Magnet, which was a better song, especially since they were a girl crush group).
i don't follow k-pop (or listen to it) but i can't help but watch your videos when they pop up in my recommendations...you are a wonderful story teller
Hi Mrs. Ploopy! Hope you're having a good day! I actually read something on this group a couple months back and I think they're fascinating! Glad you're making a video on them!
Dang, I was only aware of this group because of the "plastic surgery concept" but I kinda forgot they existed for a couple of years. That really sucks that their agency decided to promote them using the outrage marketing strategy instead of actual proper promotion, because they seemed really talented. At least a couple of the members seem to be doing ok now, they just seemed to have been done really dirty by the Kpop industry.

oh thank god someone's talking about this group finally was so weird to learn about them back in the day (ahh i see back in the day for me was 2017 lmao)
Oh if this is a series, are you considering doing a video on Norazo? I saw a clip of them in the intro. They had a controversy or 2 years ago, but they're still making music with concepts weirder than ever.
Their blue dresses from the section about the plastic surgery concept look very VERY similar the dress Yuna Kim skated in when she won her gold medal at the 2010 Olympics. (So much that I did a little bit of a double-take when they appeared) I wonder if that’s coincidence or another bid at outfit-based talk, but more positive this time? Edit: Just looked it up; it was intentional. That’s hilarious.
Did you see that DR said Blackswan's Judy and leader Youngheun left the group? But the 2 said they were actually fired by them after Gabi and Sriya were added!
Tbh this story is sorta sad bc when they make crazy content they get the views but r told to do normal stuff but then when they actually do normal stuff they get no views 😭
i feel like the plastic surgery thing was doomed to fail, like if they had gone super drastic and walked out looking like aliens they would've got bullied for that lmao
You know the sad part is that's not considered shocking in modern music. A lot of music videos nowadays are either just full on adult or just strange drug dreams.
Always enjoy your videos and this one was no exception! I recommend you do a video on the history of TVXQ, since their 20th anniversary is coming up at the end of 2023. They have such an interesting and influential history that would make for an awesome video. ❤
I remember this group. I wish they sticked to their first concept from 2012, it really sounded good and it fitted them the best. So sad they had to change it to gain more recognition (Btw I really love the name plofessors)
I unironically like "10 years waiting". The problem I have with the song is that stupid horn or whatever that plays when they are in the sausage suits or the black things. If someone made a remix that just removed that from the song and put something better I'd genuinely love the song
i remembered this group when i saw their blue dresses for ‘getting prettier after’. they were accused of copying yuna kim’s olympic free skate dress that she wore. she’s one of south korea’s most famous athletes, so it was seen as a desperate attempt to put their name in the spotlight, just like the other ones they had made.
Can you please make similar storyline for kpop group GirlsGirls?🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏such a fun group, but only Miso survived to solo...what happened to the rest of the girls? Why was G kicked out?
Hands down my favorite girl group. I remember seeing the wait 10 years video and thinking “….. okay these girls are kinda cool.” I recommend everyone listen to SoDa Bomb’s “why am I nervous?!” It’s so cute
Help! I'm now addicted to Wait 10 Years Baby 😩 The instrumentals are actually so groovy hahaha Am I the only one???

Their blue dresses from the section about the plastic surgery concept look very VERY similar the dress Yuna Kim skated in when she won her gold medal at the 2010 Olympics. (So much that I did a little bit of a double-take when they appeared) I wonder if that’s coincidence or another bid at outfit-based talk, but more positive this time?
Edit: Just looked it up; it was intentional. That’s hilarious.
Did you see that DR said Blackswan's Judy and leader Youngheun left the group? But the 2 said they were actually fired by them after Gabi and Sriya were added!
your videos are always interesting to watch!
2:09 Which MV's are those? I want to know :0 I'm curious
I love them they’re the biggest troll group in kpop
Omg thank you for talking about this group, I thought I made them up but couldn’t remember their name!
people find those specific songs weird but i somehow find it cute
Tbh this story is sorta sad bc when they make crazy content they get the views but r told to do normal stuff but then when they actually do normal stuff they get no views 😭
Oh wow this group lasted a long time actually
i feel like the plastic surgery thing was doomed to fail, like if they had gone super drastic and walked out looking like aliens they would've got bullied for that lmao
i'll edit my comment when i finish this video tomorrow but i just quickly wanted to say i love the new hair ploopy!
Im so glad someone is finally talking about this iconic group 😂 Hiccup Hiccup and Wait 10 Years were bops
Ploopy you have GOT to do a video on Idol School. The complete obstruction of human rights in that show is insane.
i honestly feel bad. having to do ridiculous comebacks just for attention when these girls had trained so hard and gone through multiple things.
What six bomb did was pure art
I remember this group. I wish they sticked to their first concept from 2012, it really sounded good and it fitted them the best. So sad they had to change it to gain more recognition (Btw I really love the name plofessors)
I unironically like "10 years waiting". The problem I have with the song is that stupid horn or whatever that plays when they are in the sausage suits or the black things. If someone made a remix that just removed that from the song and put something better I'd genuinely love the song
That title is everything and more.
They voice isnt even bad the media just like hating on ppl
This group could have been really popular
I always look forward to your uploads, keep doing what you're doing 💖
i remembered this group when i saw their blue dresses for ‘getting prettier after’. they were accused of copying yuna kim’s olympic free skate dress that she wore. she’s one of south korea’s most famous athletes, so it was seen as a desperate attempt to put their name in the spotlight, just like the other ones they had made.
good lass ploopy, immediately gives us the sauce before we even had to ask
Okay this group is INCREDIBLE i love their concepts and the sausage suits
Can you please make similar storyline for kpop group GirlsGirls?🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏such a fun group, but only Miso survived to solo...what happened to the rest of the girls? Why was G kicked out?
I actually enjoy most of SixBomb's songs. Especially Hiccup Hiccup, and it's a really underrated song imo. The chorus is especially fantastic.
Hands down my favorite girl group. I remember seeing the wait 10 years video and thinking “….. okay these girls are kinda cool.”
I recommend everyone listen to SoDa Bomb’s “why am I nervous?!” It’s so cute
Six Bomb was my gateway group. I liked them even before BTS. I saw a report about their plastic surgery in Texas.
I love some of their songs actually haha! A while back I was watching the mv to get pretty after and the comments were just whew
