Auditioning is actually very scary because they could take your information and use it for bad purposes. I think people should audition to companies that are already confirmed as a company and not just a random instagram account that says its a kpop company.

Yea agree, especially nowadays. Years ago, idols usually were recruited by company's agents who were searching randomly on the street. The agents have official card and just simply asked them to think about that before coming for the audition at the company by themselves. But nowadays, there are a lot of online audition (especially with this pandemic), and all the emails which can be questioned whether those are true ones or not.

Telltale signs of a scam:
1. If someone is telling you to pay upfront for ANYTHING other than for a product, it's a scam.
2. If they're purposefully creating a sense of urgency to scare you into giving them money, it's a scam.
3. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is 99.99999% of the time.
4. If they harass you and use threatening language, it's not only a scam, but shouldn't go without being reported.
5. If you arrive to do work in another country and they want to take your passport and/or say you are in debt to them for the travel.
Also, u shouldn't just click on any link bcs some of these links have malware on them and they can use that against you, they can spy on u/get all ur personal info, so please be careful of clicking links:)

Okay so let me point something out ...
so there is something called “online entertainments “ and they are just basically companies formed and based on an app called “starmaker”(a singing app) and basically it’s teen girls who make companies and they have trainees who debute in a group but they just cover kpop songs it’s like a kpop cover group and they have there own Instagram and RUclips channel it’s pretty fun tbh they never ask for photos or anything they are just companies to have fun and sing so not all kpop companies on Instagram are creepy or seem like a scam because some are just having fun☺️then after a while ur band mates become like ur sisters or friends it’s really fun❤️I know this because I have that app and it’s all fun 🍭🍬

Edit: just last week I had someone make 2 new accounts on insta trying to follow me and commenting they love me on my pics etc and someone said something along the lines of "i found you on Facebook, youre so beautiful but too young for me"... if you're a guy reading this, make sure none of your friends are creeps because women despise men like this with every fibre of their being
I sometimes stream on a site like twitch and was messaged by a "recruiter" for apparently a modelling company who seemed incredibly sus cause he didn't link a website, he just said it was independent and the money was good and it was for endorsement deals like H&M clothes. He wanted us to get on a video call and for me to pose in different outfits etc. but he kept saying for me to pose sexier etc. It was very uncomfortable and I ended up ignoring all his messages after the call. It was 1 way so I only saw text and he saw me posing and talking. I googled all the vague info he gave me and even messaged some modelling company that he could be talking about but they said they never heard of him before. Luckily I didn't do anything bad and it was tamer than a tiktok video but still, I don't like showing my body.
Girls with instagrams, tiktoks etc should beware. There will be A LOT of creepy old men posing as "photographers", I had these types of messages as well and I only have like 1.5K followers.
not only girls, but some boys as well! please be mindful, you never know what those creeps want!

Then he started asking me if I could come over his house, and do a photoshoot for $400. I- . I said no thank you. Then the dude kept going on and on say how I'm beautiful and he wants to do "nasty" things to me- Sir, sir. Bye. Then he kept calling me. LIKE, literally spamming my phone with calls. Then I finally answered, (bc I'm a dumbass 👁️👄👁️). I was like he hello? This dude said "Hi baby 😘". Um. Sir. Who- Anyways. But the weird thing is phone was shaking. Y'all should know what he was doing 👁️👄👁️. Then I hung up, n blocked him. But he added me on Snapchat, (my dumbass forgot I put my Snapchat on my bio) And omggg he won't leave me alone. Telling me loves me. Like ew. Blocked him again tho. (Sorry for the long story. This is true , btw) I'll see if I can remember his Snapchat, so I can get enough people to report him. And get his account banned :)

The suggestions are not enough, a scammer can make an Instagram account that looks like an account of a real agency and put the link of the real agency site! Watch out for the fishing! A custom email domain is not a proof of authenticity, it's not difficult to obtain a custom domain, for example Yandex give it for free! Beware these things too!
