It’s interesting because in my hometown (this backwater hick suburb where my family still lives) a gay man I went to high school with was abducted, strung up, tortured and murdered. Monet what you said at 13:12 is so true! I grew up in Detroit area and now live in Philly, and I hear so much shit from people about both cities. But if you don't go looking for trouble, you're almost certainly gonna be completely safe. People need to simply use common sense and practice basic personal safety, and they will be just fine. Well-off white people think everyone wants to rob, hurt or kill them. If you don't feel safe going to a freaking concert, which is gonna be in one of the safer/wealthier areas of any city, you're way way too paranoid. And also classist and racist. It took me by surprise to hear that other people's fear are the crimes and not the police.

Irrational. Not fearing the cops, but fearing violence from people of color. Violence in Chicago is largely gang related. And white violence in Chicago is also gang(still a mob, dirty politicians town). As a black flight attendant that lives in Chicago,also married to a cop..unless your running over to the west or south side of Chicago to cop drugs,the odds are extremely low that you’ll ever encounter anything other than some aggressive pan handlers. I see young white kids fly in and my spiel is be careful on the trains, try to not look like Dorthy from Oz and your new iPhone won’t get snatched. That and panhandling is about all your encounter outside of high crime areas

The second hole is in reference to the sigmoid colon, which is usually around 6 inches into your rectum. It’s an experience to say the least lmfao, but it can be difficult to get passed it since the rectum essentially turns towards the side of your body. You gotta mess a bit with the positioning to make it easier to slide through. Be careful with getting to this point though, and be aware that this is where your body stores it’s feces before it’s ready to leave the body (and there’s a mucus lining that helps with preparing your feces). You might encounter some mishaps because of this, but that’s to be expected considering it’s function lol.

In January, my boyfriend and I went to a concert in San Francisco (it may have been at least my 100th time in SF as a native Californian),
when my BF and I left the venue of the show and returned to my car, two of my windows had been smashed and my bf's iphone and backpack were stolen from my trunk.
Some people grow to associate certain geographic locations such as cities and neighborhoods with crime. Some people move cautiously and evaluate these things before travelling just anywhere. Not everyone feels safe or welcome in every city.
I feel as though, as long as the girlfriend isn't specifically making a statement about race, then it isn't that big of an issue. Sure she MAY have been implying something by what she said, but she also very easily could just be looking out for herself and her safety. Monet you went on to talk about how you've witnessed a police stand-off with guns drawn outside of your own apartment building, at your home. Not everyone has been exposed to dangerous situations like this before. And like Bob went all to say, for all we know, the person could be a Black woman. But I don't feel as though people should be shamed or ridiculed for wanting to keep themselves out of a dangerous situation. And if your opinion is that the place, Chicago in this case, is not dangerous, then explain that - contextualize that and educate the person who's set in their idea about Chicago and try to change their mind.
