Exactly. Really, no podcast or show where anyone talks to a co-host should have them sitting next to each other on the same side of the table/desk. One, it looks really uncomfortable to have to look over like that for the entire show and then also to have to lean into the microphone. That's cosmetic, though. They've already made a major investment in the layout so I don't know how likely or how soon they'd change anything that isn't working, visually. Audibly, though, an immediate change they NEED to make is to move Tom's mic. From where it is, the mic arm has to be fully extended to be in front of him while he faces forward, so it can't reach his mouth when he has to TURN to look at Christina so it's super quiet.

Big fan but I absolutely hate the new set. What made the old set and podcast so great was feeling of being included in on the conversation. That was achieved by the "low budget" setting and the viewing angle we as the viewers had. It made it feel like we were in welcoming room talking among friends. The new set feels high budget and looses all the genuineness the old set had. I feel like I'm watching a late night talk show hosted by two people. For the first few minutes, I thought the background was a green screen. Not to mention the lighting is so bright, Tom's head gleams like glazed donut under a spotlight. Don't even get me started on the fortified wall you call a desk between you and the guests. Sorry guys, but this new set is low and loose.

sorry man, got to agree with folks here, new set up doesn't feel as good or as cozy, even to watch. The chairs don't even look as comfortable, I keep feeling like i want to get up and sit on the guest couch. technically it's better but fit and feel its not. Your gonna need to decorate the shit outta it to improve it, maybe. What's with the bookcase too? Are you gonna turn your chair and pull a book to research some biological textbook on farts or something? I keep finding myself focusing on the titles trying to see what book you would want to have in a podcast studio, its weird.

It's only the first episode in the new Studio Jeans. Ron and Sabrina will make adjustments. Once it's high n' tight again I expect every episode to be filed with neat stuff, slick stuff. Maybe some raw stuff. But one thing we can all agree on is Ron needs total control of the soundboard.
At the very least, tom needs to control the clips. His timing and choice of clips are part of what makes the podcast so great. New studio, obviously have some kinks to work out but plz listen to your fans. Its totally fine to upsize and im glad you guys are doing so well, but dont jeprodize the future of your podcast by radically altering the formula. When rogan switched studios, it was a major upgrade but he kept the same dynamic and layout of the studio. It works because it works, its hard to explain. Please take these comments as productive criticism from fans who worry that youre losing the essential character of your show. I dont want to see your show wither right after this big move it would be very disaapointing.

Looks like Tom still has his sound board (1:10:24 for example) but the bigger clips were controlled by Blueban. Maybe once they’re more situated, Tom will go back to controlling all clips during podcast.
tcbergersen dude they’ve had like 6 studios and they figure it out. Stop over analyzing the shit and just enjoy the show. Almost every podcast host doesn’t control the clips, and maybe Tom is tired of having to do all the controlling and wants to focus more on the conversations. Remember you shouldn’t get mad over things you cannot change. So do your part and watch and participate, let the people make the show worry about how they make the show.

Some constructive criticism: Bright lights on wood looks like cheap plastic. Zoom out is too far away Zoom in on Tom is weird angle with the corner of the background. Zoom in on christina is too far away. Hiding the screens is weird, we like being in on a conversation. This feels like a generic game show. Getting rid of the large screen makes the show less intimate. Sitting on the same side of the desk feels like the camera should pan to the other side, but it never does which is distracting
The color palette and composition of this studio make me want to shit & barf 2Girls1Cup style. Love you guys, but wtf happened, who designed this? Why are there two light sconces directly next to each other in the corner and that weird little vertical strip of red and yellow? Very visually off putting as is the over use of rounded wood veneered furniture, hello 90's. On the production side, I'm very surprised Thomas would hand over control of video content, and more importantly timing, to Bluebird. There goes that spontaneity with the web vids we all loved. Also, we don't get to see what you see onscreen, it just doesn't work as well as it already did before. I know you guys want to take YMH to the next level, but there are some real missteps here, hopefully you can make some adjustments to bring back that awesome YMH vibe. I'll be here just glassin with a fart in my mouth!
I miss the “round table” vibe of the old set. It felt more natural and very much just an open invitation to sit at the table and feel like. part of the podcast. I actually don’t love the wide shot and it just feels more like a network talk show instead of a bunch of mommy’s around the table. I do miss the big monitor up too making it feel like we’re all watching the video together. This just feels a little off. I don’t so much mind the colors like most but dimming the lights and having Tom and Christina at least facing each other at a table instead of desks would feel more natural. It’s just odd with the guest having to turn to talk to them because it looks more like an interview rather than a conversation. I do agree that the old set up or a set up similar to Rogans would give it that podcast feel we all like where this just looks really network and kind of awkward. Doesn’t feel like my moms house, it feels like I’m watching my mommy’s use the set from the view after hours. Still adore you both and the podcast but it just doesn’t feel like my moms house.
Quirky Curves I agree. There was an intimacy to it, that made it genuine. Now everyone there is watching the videos on separate screens, and the set looks like a late night talk show taking place in a McDOnalds.

I was super excited and tried to lie to myself that I didnt have the same issues you had, but I just couldnt shake how much it felt so off and so LOW AND LOOSE...did NOT feel like YMH!!! And man Tom not running the clips, all the clips being broken up messing up the flow, nothing ready and cued up, and it just felt of...and Tom looked pissed at times for sure. Im sure they will get it on track but ill always miss the feel of the old set, even after I get used to this one, but to me its far more the flow of the show and how it looks like something on late night tv but weird. I really thought they would have more things from old clips in the background like cleaver ways of putting in things like Fans for Julia, maybe a bowl of moose soup, and other lil fun things but not to corny...ahh it just feels off, but I am sure they will get their Jeans high and tight again soon. This was the first time the show felt forced and awkward...Dr. Drew in particular.

I'm sure the new studio is a big improvement from a technical standpoint, but it feels like whoever designed the interior made zero effort to match the vibe / branding of the show. It should look like they're teenagers hanging out in someone's mom's basement. Instead it looks like Ronald McDonald's basement if he went to law school was allergic to fun. You actually could've done better getting Joe to build something out of discarded old ceiling fans.

my main grievance with this set up is that it just feels too fake and corporate, i feel as if there's like 10 people behind the camera's pointing to christina or whatever and telling them when to laugh, it feels like it's a professional tv show when i was just use to watching them in the comfort of their own home, "your mom's house" if you will. now it's your mom's law firm on level 6. the seating arrangement doesn't help either, tom and christina use to sit across from each other now their awkwardly angled next to each other? whatever i'm not too sad but because i know tom and christina will do whatever they can for the fans to make it better, this is just temporary there's no way they won't see this abundance of comments and just ignore it
They might, man. That desk alone was probably $5k. And I don't think there's anything they could do without scrapping that desk. They could paint over McDonalds and stain the wood, but the biggest problem is that damn table. Maybe we should proactively start a GoFundMe for them to redo the set.

You need really dim lighting in the background and a new desk. The rest can work... but that desk is something.The desk closes you two off from the guest and takes up way too much space. Hard angles always look better on video too; the curves fight the rest of the set design.
Dim lighting is key. Its a mood talk show similar to a late night show which always has a nightscape background. Bright is good for sports and news. Its not as chill as darker shades would be. All that needs to change is the lighting it's a good space.
I hate to criticize....but there is so much wrong with the new studio. I am sure it must be disheartening to see all the negative reviews. The unpolished look of all previous studios was such a huge part of the charm of the show. This is all wrong for the dynamic that makes you so successful.
You guys remind me of growing up and the humor between my mom and I was making fun of crazy people and having deep inside jokes that last for years about them, and having fart contests and laughing our asses off..Great to have something that hits that spot in ME soul. The fart mic gives me joy :)
I fully support you guys but this is going to be damn hard to get used to. We can't reasonably expect you to redo the whole set but maybe at least change the color scheme and lighting? With all the wood working and crown molding it looks like you hired Joe as your contractor. It makes Bunz look like he's in front of a green screen for some reason. In my worthless opinion I would also stain the wood a darker color but I'm just a poly and bi internet stranger.
Also no screen is a problem. I also expect having them always staring off to the side at each other is going to create a weird dynamic. I'm a huge proponent of change but... :(

i have some thoughts. I hope you all are reading these comments and taking them to heart. It's not too late to make some changes that will make the new studio AMAZING and not just ok. the good: The fact that you guys are building out a network is amazing and this studio is going to bring about a lot of awesome content and that is amazing. The pup play mask is hilarious. the fart mic and Christine's love of it is the best. having blueban and the crew involved during the show is also great. The bad: The lighting. Way too bright. Mostly it's the sconces on the wall. swap out the bulbs for dimmer bulbs and you'll make a big difference. The colors. When i think of steakhouse i think of tan's and burgundies. You went for ketchup and mustard. It's garish and offputting. It might also be the sconces and the color temperature of those bulbs making it look different on camera but i cannot be certain that is the case. The layout. The thing that made YMH so great was that the mommies were sitting across from each other and looking at each other. Maybe if you want to keep the desk setup they could be on either side of a corner so they still look at each other but it feels like a desk? Also the guests need to sit at the desk with them. It feels weird and an afterthough to have them on a couch lower than the mommies. Tommy needs to control the clips. That's what leads to so many great moments is him using the clips as a comedy weapon. The in ear monitors look weird on camera. When you watch a podcast you expect everyone to be wearing headphones. I say go back to headphones. it just looks better. Conclusion: I think this is a great start of something amazing and i hope you know that these criticisms come from a place of love and don't just shut them out and double down because you feel like we are being "haters". We love you mommies and we just want to put in our input. This podcast has always been a community driven experience. i hope you take that to heart.

sorry man, got to agree with folks here, new set up doesn't feel as good or as cozy, even to watch. The chairs don't even look as comfortable, I keep feeling like i want to get up and sit on the guest couch. technically it's better but fit and feel its not. Your gonna need to decorate the shit outta it to improve it, maybe. What's with the bookcase too? Are you gonna turn your chair and pull a book to research some biological textbook on farts or something? I keep finding myself focusing on the titles trying to see what book you would want to have in a podcast studio, its weird.

It's only the first episode in the new Studio Jeans. Ron and Sabrina will make adjustments. Once it's high n' tight again I expect every episode to be filed with neat stuff, slick stuff. Maybe some raw stuff. But one thing we can all agree on is Ron needs total control of the soundboard.

At the very least, tom needs to control the clips. His timing and choice of clips are part of what makes the podcast so great. New studio, obviously have some kinks to work out but plz listen to your fans. Its totally fine to upsize and im glad you guys are doing so well, but dont jeprodize the future of your podcast by radically altering the formula. When rogan switched studios, it was a major upgrade but he kept the same dynamic and layout of the studio. It works because it works, its hard to explain. Please take these comments as productive criticism from fans who worry that youre losing the essential character of your show. I dont want to see your show wither right after this big move it would be very disaapointing.

Looks like Tom still has his sound board (1:10:24 for example) but the bigger clips were controlled by Blueban. Maybe once they’re more situated, Tom will go back to controlling all clips during podcast.
tcbergersen dude they’ve had like 6 studios and they figure it out. Stop over analyzing the shit and just enjoy the show. Almost every podcast host doesn’t control the clips, and maybe Tom is tired of having to do all the controlling and wants to focus more on the conversations. Remember you shouldn’t get mad over things you cannot change. So do your part and watch and participate, let the people make the show worry about how they make the show.

Bright lights on wood looks like cheap plastic.
Zoom out is too far away
Zoom in on Tom is weird angle with the corner of the background.
Zoom in on christina is too far away.
Hiding the screens is weird, we like being in on a conversation. This feels like a generic game show.
Getting rid of the large screen makes the show less intimate.
Sitting on the same side of the desk feels like the camera should pan to the other side, but it never does which is distracting

The color palette and composition of this studio make me want to shit & barf 2Girls1Cup style. Love you guys, but wtf happened, who designed this? Why are there two light sconces directly next to each other in the corner and that weird little vertical strip of red and yellow? Very visually off putting as is the over use of rounded wood veneered furniture, hello 90's. On the production side, I'm very surprised Thomas would hand over control of video content, and more importantly timing, to Bluebird. There goes that spontaneity with the web vids we all loved. Also, we don't get to see what you see onscreen, it just doesn't work as well as it already did before. I know you guys want to take YMH to the next level, but there are some real missteps here, hopefully you can make some adjustments to bring back that awesome YMH vibe. I'll be here just glassin with a fart in my mouth!
I miss the “round table” vibe of the old set. It felt more natural and very much just an open invitation to sit at the table and feel like. part of the podcast. I actually don’t love the wide shot and it just feels more like a network talk show instead of a bunch of mommy’s around the table. I do miss the big monitor up too making it feel like we’re all watching the video together. This just feels a little off. I don’t so much mind the colors like most but dimming the lights and having Tom and Christina at least facing each other at a table instead of desks would feel more natural. It’s just odd with the guest having to turn to talk to them because it looks more like an interview rather than a conversation. I do agree that the old set up or a set up similar to Rogans would give it that podcast feel we all like where this just looks really network and kind of awkward. Doesn’t feel like my moms house, it feels like I’m watching my mommy’s use the set from the view after hours.

I was super excited and tried to lie to myself that I didnt have the same issues you had, but I just couldnt shake how much it felt so off and so LOW AND LOOSE...did NOT feel like YMH!!! And man Tom not running the clips, all the clips being broken up messing up the flow, nothing ready and cued up, and it just felt of...and Tom looked pissed at times for sure. Im sure they will get it on track but ill always miss the feel of the old set, even after I get used to this one, but to me its far more the flow of the show and how it looks like something on late night tv but weird. I really thought they would have more things from old clips in the background like cleaver ways of putting in things like Fans for Julia, maybe a bowl of moose soup, and other lil fun things but not to corny...ahh it just feels off, but I am sure they will get their Jeans high and tight again soon. This was the first time the show felt forced and awkward...Dr. Drew in particular.

I was excited for Dr Drew to watch Joe until I realised it was chopped up into 17 clips.
I'm sure the new studio is a big improvement from a technical standpoint, but it feels like whoever designed the interior made zero effort to match the vibe / branding of the show. It should look like they're teenagers hanging out in someone's mom's basement. Instead it looks like Ronald McDonald's basement if he went to law school was allergic to fun. You actually could've done better getting Joe to build something out of discarded old ceiling fans.

my main grievance with this set up is that it just feels too fake and corporate, i feel as if there's like 10 people behind the camera's pointing to christina or whatever and telling them when to laugh, it feels like it's a professional tv show when i was just use to watching them in the comfort of their own home, "your mom's house" if you will. now it's your mom's law firm on level 6. the seating arrangement doesn't help either, tom and christina use to sit across from each other now their awkwardly angled next to each other? whatever i'm not too sad but because i know tom and christina will do whatever they can for the fans to make it better, this is just temporary there's no way they won't see this abundance of comments and just ignore it
They might, man. That desk alone was probably $5k. And I don't think there's anything they could do without scrapping that desk. They could paint over McDonalds and stain the wood, but the biggest problem is that damn table. Maybe we should proactively start a GoFundMe for them to redo the set.

It's like a cross between the sensibilities of Krusty, Lionel Hutz, and Cletus Spuckler.
You need really dim lighting in the background and a new desk. The rest can work... but that desk is something.The desk closes you two off from the guest and takes up way too much space. Hard angles always look better on video too; the curves fight the rest of the set design.
I think dim lighting would help. I'm in awe at the desk, why is it so big and in my face?
Dim lighting is key. Its a mood talk show similar to a late night show which always has a nightscape background. Bright is good for sports and news. Its not as chill as darker shades would be. All that needs to change is the lighting it's a good space.
I hate to criticize....but there is so much wrong with the new studio. I am sure it must be disheartening to see all the negative reviews. The unpolished look of all previous studios was such a huge part of the charm of the show. This is all wrong for the dynamic that makes you so successful.
You guys remind me of growing up and the humor between my mom and I was making fun of crazy people and having deep inside jokes that last for years about them, and having fart contests and laughing our asses off..Great to have something that hits that spot in ME soul. The fart mic gives me joy :)

I fully support you guys but this is going to be damn hard to get used to. We can't reasonably expect you to redo the whole set but maybe at least change the color scheme and lighting? With all the wood working and crown molding it looks like you hired Joe as your contractor. It makes Bunz look like he's in front of a green screen for some reason. In my worthless opinion I would also stain the wood a darker color but I'm just a poly and bi internet stranger.
Also no screen is a problem. I also expect having them always staring off to the side at each other is going to create a weird dynamic. I'm a huge proponent of change but... :(

i have some thoughts. I hope you all are reading these comments and taking them to heart. It's not too late to make some changes that will make the new studio AMAZING and not just ok.
the good:
The fact that you guys are building out a network is amazing and this studio is going to bring about a lot of awesome content and that is amazing.
The pup play mask is hilarious.
the fart mic and Christine's love of it is the best.
having blueban and the crew involved during the show is also great.
The bad:
The lighting. Way too bright. Mostly it's the sconces on the wall. swap out the bulbs for dimmer bulbs and you'll make a big difference.
The colors. When i think of steakhouse i think of tan's and burgundies. You went for ketchup and mustard. It's garish and offputting. It might also be the sconces and the color temperature of those bulbs making it look different on camera but i cannot be certain that is the case.
The layout. The thing that made YMH so great was that the mommies were sitting across from each other and looking at each other. Maybe if you want to keep the desk setup they could be on either side of a corner so they still look at each other but it feels like a desk? Also the guests need to sit at the desk with them. It feels weird and an afterthough to have them on a couch lower than the mommies.
Tommy needs to control the clips. That's what leads to so many great moments is him using the clips as a comedy weapon.
The in ear monitors look weird on camera. When you watch a podcast you expect everyone to be wearing headphones. I say go back to headphones. it just looks better.
Conclusion: I think this is a great start of something amazing and i hope you know that these criticisms come from a place of love and don't just shut them out and double down because you feel like we are being "haters". We love you mommies and we just want to put in our input. This podcast has always been a community driven experience. i hope you take that to heart.
