@@nelsonth you have to sing opera in music school... like it's not technically a requirement but your professors will make you do it because its the pinnacle of classical singing (which is what you go to school to be, classically trained)

Bob is not a bad singer. That being said, there are some optimizations you make that come with experience, so just sing often, listen to yourself, and use good criticism to your advantage.

So since Bob asked for singing tips (I'm not an expert, just love singing and have been singing/performing for many many years):
1. Try to rely on your diaphragm more for support when you try to sing loud and passionately. You are relying more on your throat and nose for resonance instead of your diaphragm. You will create a fuller sound and sing with more ease if you engage your diagraph more.
2. Always remember, when you are trying to singer very high notes or very low notes (especially in a loud way like a belt), you need to open your mouth wide more vertically so that more there is more room for the air and resonance in your mouth to produce those extreme notes.
3. Lastly, but most importantly, *CONFIDENCE IS ESSENTIAL WHEN SINGING*. The voice is the only instrument that is biological and uses your body as the host of the instrument. Your mind/pysche is what dictates what notes you sing and how you sing them. If you are not totally sound mentally when you sing, you will not produce the best vocals. Asking Monet not to look at you or make faces already demonstrates a lack of mental confidence, and therefore will not make the best use of your instrument. Singing is a soulful instrument, so make sure your mind and soul are strong and fully engaged.
Just keep singing and practicing how to best execute songs you hear and learn, and mostly importantly, be confident throughout the process. :)

Ok. I love to sing! That is the most important part of singing. A Voice coach is a Great idea from Monet. Bob you could use intonation and pitch coaching. A coach could help with ways to maintain pitch and make a purer sound. You tend to become more nasal making certain sounds.
