This update actually makes Ming interesting to play at game start! I've only played Ming twice before, once when I picked up the game and still learning, once to get the Kow-tow achievement. Way over powered and thus boring both times. Can't wait to try this out when the update arrives.
btw, 21:00 not sure if you know, but tributary states' contribution to mandate was changed already some time ago. Instead of just the numbers of tributary, it is now dependent on their development, so having more tributaries with low development is not as impactful as before. Loving this vid btw, Ming looks like a blast and reminds me of the Lotus Court in Anbennar (surprisingly this may be more painful in the internal side of things).
I bought using in the link in the description, so I hope it helps since I am a broke college student I can't do much, but I feel obligated to contribute a bit since you bring joy in times of trouble.
Man I remember years ago when you guys had just started this channel, I'm gonna be honest I thought you guys sucked lol. Now, probably my favorite channel on this platform. Love seeing how far you've come
Ooh this looks like a cool campaign. Also FYI Tributaries give mandate off of development, rather than numbers, So I'd think its optimal to have mid-sized tributaries rather than OPMs. (Since that way they'd develop themselves more)
7:00 Being fair the ming dynasty was already death by that time, maybe the would have choose a different path with the time. Also fun fact, the Chinese were so isolated from Europe they though they still speaked Latin since that was what they speak in the times of Rome.
Man all these banger DLC's being released is making me fear for an EU5 ever coming out. It would be guaranteed to not even have like 20 percent of the content of current EU4.
I could tell that someone at paradox told you "don't go crazy like you usually do". Which is sad because min maxing, and coalition busting are awesome to watch
Even with 4000 hours on the game ive never played Ming. It always just seemed the epithany of boredom but now im actually curious… Also curious how the new Qing mission tree looks since Qing is actually one ov my favourites!
this has nothing to do with the video but we all need to know about the free money scam called kidnapping ducks from the park. The possibilities are endless, you can sell the ducks, cook them, and throw them from the window!
Is it possible to put the emperor in a 1k stack in the far south and away from all combat? That way it would be impossible for him to ruin any chance of him messing things up
Developed yellow river dikes, to prevent flooding. Gets hit by 2 devastating flood events back to back and is ruined. My god they shat on ming quite hard, but I love it
cant wait to see you go colonial and show them Spaniards who is emperor Also, once Domination come out, a guide on that Triple Crown achievement for Russia?
Growth of Mandate from Tributaries is based on tributary development, not how many you have. So taking all their land and leaving them with one province is just hurting yourself.
You can move capital to shenyang and instantly get extra 5 merchants by TCing the wrong culture stuff + 1 big state in each trade node, I try to avoid TCing great cities to keep the tax income from them
I do like the changes and everything but i dont think the ai will be able to handle these disasters at all, so the ming will pop in the early game a lot of times.
I heard you can choose to declare yourself as the continuation of the Roman Empire as the Ottomans in this DLC, does it do anything? Like, form a Muslim version of Rome with a name like the Rûm Sultanate?
How it is possible you have no vassals and tributaries in pre1500 as Ming in Europe.... Even eunuchs make maybe only 5 years delay to teleporting to Europe. Having Sweden / Norway is an absolute minimum (usual way: tribute war Oirat to connect to Chagatai, tribute war Chagatai to get 1 Kazakh core, Kazakh reconquest on Uzbek / Nogai and welcome to european hordes / eating Muscovy in early 1470s)

Wasn't going to get the new dlc but this video has changed my mind

Gonna be fun seeings if AI Ming can do different things other than either blobbing or mingsploding

Glad to see the Ming dynasty had a more realistic problem shown in EU4 - eunuchs
Great video and run through, Laith!
Never played Ming; probably never will but this makes me more likely than before.
Very carefully pushing into Oirat, call that "baby steppes"
