@@TheColdOnez tbf they were pushing, if Sealion lasted even a week longer I think the situation would've been salvageable. Although axis could've been smarter and started to pull over Atlantic wall garrisons earlier to form a better line since there's no way the allies could go into France.

Quick headcount, that naval battle in the North Sea easily had around 250-300 ships on both sides that engaged, probably more. Around 150 from both sides were sunk, not including aircraft. In terms of raw numbers, this would probably rank within the top 3 largest naval battles in human history by volume of ships and sailors, since even ships as small as destroyers had over 100 crew members minimum.

This battle would be on par with the numbers of Leyte Gulf.

The subs won the war because the supplies to other allies fucked by their constant raiding. Not being able to project supremacy is a crippling thing but not being able to send shit to the Soviets or others is a death sentence. Hell even trading becomes nigh-impossible given enough subs.
Troops need supplies or they suffer significant penalties both in combat and as part of attrition. Those supplies require convoy boats that are the prime diet of submarines. Manchuko raided the shit out of the convoys. With the loss of UK, it basically meant allied troops were walking around hungry and half naked unable to fight or give resources to prop up the USSR

The main navy can't kill subs and it takes too long to produce enough asw's and navel bombers to kill them because the subs will kill destroyers if their numbers aren't great enough. No supply kills you, but it was the fleet that prevented them from focusing on asw's that won the game too because they had to concentrate on keeping up with the german and italian navies. TLDR: No supply = gg

This is definitely a peak hoi4 game, this vid felt like a destined axis loss in the beginning, then the Sealion truth nuke obliterating Braun, the Soviets somehow getting pushed, and the giant fleet battle at the end forcing the Allies to crumble near-instantly.
I'm pretty sure Germany always started with Hartmann as an Ace. At least since Man the Guns because I remember putting him on my squadron and 5 mins later getting a message that he was shot down lmao

This is one of the most exciting games I've ever seen Bo & co do. Every single moment was tense and uncertain, yet almost every gamble and risk paid off successfully and satisfyingly.
0:32 Eric Hartmann has 352 aerial victories to be exact. However, like most German aces during WWII, he despised the Nazis as he joined the Luftwaffe to help defend Germany.
If I remember correctly he was a post war proponent of the clean Wehrmacht myth so still not a great guy morally speaking. And people tend to romanticize aces like him despite the fact that the evidence for their legend is often pretty shaky, Axis pilots and tank commanders loved to inflate their kill numbers so I'd still take his claimed kills with a grain of salt.

all the insanity going on in this game that massive sea battle and it was the manchu's that won them the game in the end with his 80 quadrillion(real amount btw) subs anyway, as much as i hate golden for his bs he was surprisingly tame this time, never thought i'd be rooting for him to win.
