I'll be honest as an atheist who has researched the deepest depths of this topic I found this video to be completely honest and sound... There is no study that concludes that there is a gay gene OR a straight gene.... there are genetic markers,,, but at the end of the day it seems like a mixture of both nature and nurture is the most plausible theory... we simply don't know which carries more weight into the bearing of how our attractions come about.... sexuality is very complicated and in truth should not be something to be bashed for, on either side...and i will end with this, sexuality is NOT a CHOICE, that is a take that is universally acknowledged by scientist/researchers and averagr folk alike, to be untrue ( despite it being one of, if not the most unsound theory... we at least looked into it and concluded that it should not be entertained anymore )
thank you for a balanced review. While there is not enough evidence to state that sexual orientation is inate there is more than enough evidence over the course of centuries, and the death of the ex-gay movement to know that your sexuality is not a choice. In the same way a heterorsexual does not choose to get aroused or is attracted to the opposite sex is the same EXACT way gay people cannot CHOOOSE who they are attracted to. When someone finds the way to change our orientation at will and it be authentic, let me know so that we can get rich together off ot it.

@@pcprinciple3774 The actual report this video was referencing generally points to it being inconclusive while saying there is a lack of evidence for an innate biological source. That is certain genes and hormones are associated with specific orientations but that doesn't equate to cause. Also, differences in brain structure and activity are apparent between gay and straight people but we don't know if it is innate or caused by environmental or psychological factors. Finally, although longitudinal studies have shown that 80 percent of male adolescent homosexuals no longer report the attraction in adulthood, many researchers say this doesn't actually reflect change in orientation and is the result of the survey process. This all means that like the video itself says we really don't know what causes homosexuality but I do admit that this comment did put too much faith in saying gays are born that way.
@@simplecodingnow789 good response. For whatever reason, whenever you point out that LGBT weren't born that way, they seem to reply with "well it's not a choice". No idea why. It doesn't follow that it must be a choice just because it's not 100% biology. It's part biology and part environment and probably gave tribes an evolutionary advantage in the past in terms of keeping their population within limits their food sources could sustain.
I feel like people are born gay just like people are born heterosexual we have attractions and we didn’t choose it . We gravitate to feelings of attraction with out trying to because it’s natural. That doesn’t make what we feel or gravitate to Godly . Guy you answer as best as you can and with honesty. Thanks for answering and addressing the difficult questions. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

RIGHT ON!! Just because I like to do bad things doesn't mean I have to choose to do them...even ones that are super duper emotionally hard and are a lifelong struggle...like same gender attraction.
By the way, I DO believe there are a portion of people born genetically with same gender attraction and I believe there are portion that have chosen it through their life experiences. But as you say Guy, it doesn't really matter. We must choose Jesus.

How many articles conclusively proving the existence of god have you found?
I needed to hear this video I hear so many people tell me they believe people are born gay and I have said I cant believe that since why would God set up someone to fail to be with Him. This video says we don;t know which is somewhere in the middle. I have also seen your video on can you be Christian and Gay. So despite our tendencies we have a choice. Very interesting. Still holds true for the heterosexual or straight person. We also have to choose between being sexual with one person or in the confines of marriage or be obediant to what God says in the Bible. That challenge makes us more the same than more different.
It would be interesting to discover if there is a gene in the human body that concerned sexual attractions. As it is now, what comes to my mind are experiences that produced chemical imbalances in the brain that altered a child's development. For example, maybe if a boy was constantly lobbed the "gay" insult growing up, had a less than ideal relationship with his father, and gained exposures to things that should not be watched. Those are just a few experiences that come to mind.

People are born gay. That's a myth that there's a gene. People don't just wake up one day and then decide to be gay and say they're now attracted to the same sex. It's just what your brain inherits. Your brain inherits what you like or are attracted to.
I have interviewed thousands of people with "Unique Lifestyles" and asked them all 20 certain questions, and almost all of them answered almost every question alike. It's not about being born gay or being born with a genetic indifference (Like a man being born with 2 X Chromosomes or a woman being born with a Y Chromosome), because almost all people who have these "Unique Lifestyles" have no genetic indifference. What it's almost always about is being conditioned by your environment when you are growing up. By environment, I do not mean whether the person grew up in the city or the country, but rather that the situations that they experienced in life conditioned them, sometimes without them even noticing it. I compare it to a "lawyers scale". On one side of the scale is a heavy brick which stands for heterosexuality, but on the other side various grains of sand are put onto it. Each grain of sand is something that conditions you to be homosexual. After a while, the sand becomes heavier than the brick, and the scale tilts in the other direction; the direction of homosexuality (and other similar lifestyles).

Of course people are born gay otherwise if not, who would choose to be gay if they are straight and all of the trouble that comes with being LGBTQ. As a straight man i couldn't just decide to start fancying men.
No one is really born with a sexuality. Children develop their sexuality as they mature into teens, whatever that sexuality may be. My guess would be the way your body perceive's people's pheromones is determinative of your sexuality. That's why some people are in to men, women, or both. :)

People don't just choose to be gay. God doesn't make mistakes. People don't just wake up one day and decide to be attracted to the same sex. It's what your brain inherits. Your brain inherits what you like. Not your genes. You had to have been born gay because you don't just wake up one day and then decide to be gay. People who are gay have always been attracted to the same sex. Some just think the opposite sex is gross.
@@maliikprior5243 There are people who have gay experiences that they like and enjoy and decide to live that lifestyle. Not ALL gay people are genetically gay.

@@maliikprior5243 Just because they haven't found a "gay gene" doesn't mean that a person cannot be born with a biological same gender attraction. If babies are born with two heads, people can be born with a natural same gender attraction. To say there is no such thing a person born gay is ridiculous.

So what about someone that doesn't want to give up a gay relationship but still wants to be a Christian? He makes it sound as if it's ok to be a gay Christian as long as you give up gay relationships. Or am I missing something? Not trying to disrespect anyone. This is a legit question I have.
What I think he's saying is that we don't know if people were born gay or not, or how much is nature vs nurture, but at the end of the day, what really matters, is are you willing to deny their flesh and follow God? Whether you are same-sex attracted or are heterosexual, you have a choice.
I think he's saying that you can genetically gay, but the challenge, when you choose to follow Jesus, is to not act on it.

they shall not marry their loved same sex partner and shall not raise kids in responsibility.
