- In this video, Guy answers the question “Is it a sin to feel gay?” Or, in other words, “Is it a sin if you have same-sex attractions?”
After living an active gay life for ten years, Guy Hammond decided to leave homosexuality behind in order to follow Jesus. It’s been over 30 years and although he is still sexually attracted to men, he hasn’t acted on those desires since his conversion. He is now the executive director of Strength in Weakness Ministries. This online community is dedicated to helping same-sex attracted Christians all over the world. In this toolbox series, Guy and his staff will be answering some of the most controversial and complex questions that face Christians today.

People who believe that homosexuality is shameful are subject to their own views. they need the most help. When they love themselves they can love others. Jesus is the cure for your shame. Not who you are.

Important to know difference with attraction and lust. Attraction can simply being admire a person respectful. Lust on the other hand is looking at someone as physical object ignore the person emotions and needs.
Temptation is not a sin there is a clear differences. Best example Jesus was tempted by the devil but did not sin when he was left fir 40 days and 40 nights. Furthermore he died on the cross sinless.
I'm not really sure I agree with that distinction. You can lust for a spouse and still care for their needs.

Attraction is not lust.

Hear ye hear ye. A message to all eschatologists: Who needs a doctor but the sick! Comedy is the best medicine and you are a joke! Your Idols will be dashed like a Potter's vessel, that includes: the holy Bible and anything that isn't written in the heart. The words proceed out of his mouth day after day and night after night like a spring of Living Water. Can you hear his voice? Because he's laughing! your idol isn't an allegory of morality! Dan Saber base on your comments I see that you are a very emotional person. Nothing wrong with being emotional but if you don’t education your emotions than you just act like a fool. Let me see if I can put some logic in you: a dr is a dr because feels in their heart or because they got an education? I think the intention to be a dr do start in the heart but that is not enough if is not follow by an education. Same for a Christian or any one who claims to follow a Christ! You say that whatever is in the heart is not a sin (only when we are shame of our action). So think about killers, robbers and people who do what’s wrong. Is that just because is in their heart to do so? Do they have the right to do so because is in the heart?

Dan Saber you are judging me based on your emotions . You don’t know me. I used to act on homosexuality and I can identify with guy Hammond! I could easily play the victim and blame the world for my actions but I came to realize that I am just a sinner like everyone else
First this is a difficult topic to talk about. It brings out strong reactions. In many places just to identify yourself with this marginalized group could cost you your life. Guy is a brave man to admit that he is same sex attracted person. Yet because of Jesus he lives a life faithful to God. We are all called to be Holy to conform to being Christ-Like. Guy holds to the standard of one Husband, one Wife. He lost his wife to cancer. He started this ministry to help both same sex attracted people and what you call Straight people to be compassionate, understanding & to grow the family of Jesus. Jesus can heal all our souls diseases.

Can the act of sin exist without the conception of sin first? Sin does not happen in a vacuum (Romans 8). It seems like in the statement that Guy makes about the thought vs the action, where only acting on something makes it sin. I'm not sure if that is biblical, reference Romans 1: 26-27, in this verse Paul talks about men being inflamed with lust for one another which consequently lead to them committing indecent acts with one another. So, lust technically is not a physical act, but Paul describes the relationship between the thought and the action as being cause and effect in nature. Therefore, if I have a gay thought and act on it, it is not just the action that is sin, but the accompanying thought as well. The sinful mind leads us to sinful acts (Romans 8), our thoughts perpetuate our actions. There is a difference between lust and attraction, but lets be honest, if we are not careful, attraction can turn into lust which inevitably turns into immorality. Like you just said attraction translates to lust if you're not careful which means if one is careful there isn't the problem of either lust or homosexual acts which means the message of this video still stands.
So sad nobody seems to look to actual scripture to judge themselves. It's "my feelings, my convictions, my lies to myself". It leads them to their own place in hell. These comments are four years old. It is just so much worse in 2024. Pray that the Lord sends out workers for His harvest.
It seems like Guy is making light of his attractions. He must want the audience to feel at ease. I would argue, the truth remains, as it is proven by Guy's statements: the heart is exceedingly wicked. Ask God to remove your unholy thoughts as you take each one captive. It's understood homosexual action is a sin. Looking upon a woman lustfully is a sin. Therefore it's a sin to be looking at a man lustfully. It's sexual adultery of the heart. Moreover, sexual sin is sin against yourself. Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness when we agree with the text, that is, repent of the sin. Men are hideous. Or should be to other men. Same sex attraction is blindness. Leave the rest up to grace? No, work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Teach others to do the same.

This video is a year old, but I honestly feel bad for you. The I’m and atheist, but if you read the Bible, I’m pretty sure it refers to grown man being attracted to underage boys. Love who you love, God is supposed to love everyone so wouldn’t God want you to be happy? As dating other men isn’t hurting anyone else it can hardly be considered a sin.
He lost his credibility. If you walk around wanting to shoot people- that something to be addressed. However unconscious the desire it does have an origin. Left unattended it will grow. Nothing stabilizes or gets better over time without effort towards resolution. As far as I’m concerned, bc it so closely teeters to the ACT, I say attr(action) is action, especially in perpetuity.

Galatians 2:20 is what happened to Paul having been a Pharisee. In your misunderstanding You have rebuilt what Paul has destroyed! How are your actions saving you? Every day you pick up your cross and crucify yourself to the law. The mob shouting crucify are they your brothers and sisters? I find no fault with you but if you wish to crucify yourself to the law you may. You blaspheme the Holy Spirit.

There is a difference between tempted with sin and acting on it. Hebrews 4:15. What i will also say is that temptations can lead to the path of sin Psalm 19:12.
