    We can’t tell people how amazing Jesus is by telling them what we are against.
    Sometimes, we ourselves don’t understand how amazing Jesus is-that He can change people’s lives.

      Praise God He can change lives! Now let's talk about why you think He wants to change that part of you who can love another brother. I believe the man is coming from a place of sincerity, but the road to Hell is paved with good and sincere intentions.

    Thank you so much for this movie. This has been a life changer. As a heterosexual disciple living in Africa, there is the pressure to hate and detest gay people. I don't. I never have and I am very tired of feeling guilty that I don't hate them. I am tired of feeling like I'm betraying my faith by not spreading the hate. It's a constant pressure. I may not approve of their sexual orientation, but I have realized that gay people are much more than their sexual orientation. They are real people with real lives who need to be treated with dignity and respect. Every disciple needs to see this. Thank you.

    Thank you for this ministry. As a father of a gay son and another who is transgender, I needed to hear this. I love my sons so much and I have always tried to show them love even though I disagree with their lifestyle. I have to admit, I made fun of homosexuals when they were small. I never thought this would happen to my family. Guy at least taught me I can love them and learn to accept them as they are. I don't have to agree with their lifestyle to love them and continue of course to pray they will one day accept Jesus into their lives as Guy has done.

      Ray Flowers A majority of people are starting to realize that being gay isn’t a choice. Please educate yourself with SCIENCE. “Not agreeing” with something that (regardless of what these nut jobs say) is out of anyone’s control. They will always be gay and there’s no way to change it. The people in this video are all very desperate not to be gay that they convince themselves that they aren’t. I really wish it were that simple but it’s just not possible. Please stop pushing this backwards agenda

    • @RestorationofallThings
      @RestorationofallThings 4 года назад +2

      Jacob S You don’t know me so don’t assume I didn’t look into “science”. I looked into everything and read just about anything I could get my hands on. When you child comes to you with this you’re immediate reaction is to freak out. I was scared because of my deep belief in the Bible. I still have a very hard time reconciling God telling us that this is a sin and an abomination in His sight, but He would allow you to be born that way so you are forced to deny something you were born with?? Science is not right about everything and to date there is no evidence of a “gay” gene. Guy’s testimony speaks to Bible believers so that we learn not to bash gay people, but rather love them. There are also many gay people that want a relationship with the God of the Bible who struggle with how they feel inside and what the Bible teaches. This is clearly not a one sided issue. I think Guy’s testimony can shed light on how Bible believers can and should treat those who are gay. We might “not agree” with their lifestyle because it goes against what God says, but love them anyway as we are called to with anyone struggling with a sin no matter what that sin is.

    For the olden day Christian, it was hard to swallow at first. Being an same sex attracted individual myself in the world of then, we were advised to move away from that world. No friends in the gay community, scriptures were given, etc. Like the love the person, hate the sin setting. So yes this was a heart string puller. But very amazing to watch. I'm a to the point kind of a guy, hey I'm born in March (a curse and a priviledge,🤣🤣🤣). Learning alot about judge. This was a eye opener. Thank you. Much to learn about think before you speak. Wow, thank you so much to give this movie freely to all people and to let the comment section opened on RUclips. I'm beyond blessed to finally be able watching it. Guy, you are a lucky man of God to have Cathy as your life partner, really. Pray that you keep faithful in your ministry until God calls you back home.
    I read all the comments below, and I know that not all people are easy to love, but we love them anyway. I was encouraged and corrected by your message in the part 2 of this movie; minute 20:38. You had attended the church for two years before you finally decided to live your life choosing Jesus. And as Christians, you challenged us to love one another who might disagree with us, unconditionally and not making a time frame in doing so. It's hard bro! But that's the ministry you are in, Strength in Weakness! I think it's not only you or any same-sex-attracted people who need this ministry, but all of us, need this ministry as well! We are weak to love, we fall short of Jesus' image and mission to love! Thank you to remind us that we are all sinners and we all need God. Amen..

      Jacob S, the kalam cosmological argument, which states that everything that begins to exist has a cause, the universe began to exist (proven by modern physics), therefore the universe had a cause. By logic and reason it is clear that the cause of the universe could not be inside of itself, thus it must be spaceless, timeless, immaterial, and it must be intelligent because it has produced a universe with unimaginably complex information. These four qualifications perfectly describe the monotheistic God that many religions believe in. But in order to prove the Christian God specifically, I turn to the prophetic book of Isiah in the Hebrew Old Testament which was written in about 700 bc, yet it prophecies the prosecution and crucifixion of Jesus (which happens around 730 years later) in detail that could not possibly be coincidence

    • @stevewiebe1820
      @stevewiebe1820 4 года назад +1

      I think you are right - it isn't easy to prove... maybe impossible. It doesn't matter what I think. It matters only what you think. You are on your own journey. People all through out human history have been pointing at something deeper - mystery - more. We're all standing on the edge of the mystery - science is constantly showing us more and more things, but what's fantastic is that is never done revealing the complexity and mysterious nature of things. This is true for the divine/spiritual element of things. We are like two dimensional beings trying to make sense of something that has 5 dimensions. As we journey we see more and more; we learn and experience, but due to the nature of these things, it doesn't depend on logic... and there are things I was sure of about the divine 20 years ago that I no longer believe at all. 15 years ago things shifted. 10 years ago things shifted. 5 years ago things also shifted. I am aware that I only see part of what is happening. I hold things with loose hands so that I can put them down (maybe forever) and pick something different up. Its a journey... That's my take on it. The divine isn't playing some kind of worthiness game where I am accepted only if I do all the right things.
      That said, I don't subscribe to the same kind of Christianity that Guy does. I believe that God is about fidelity and loyalty and belonging. It bothers me that Guy's friend is being encouraged to leave his partner of 20+ years, abandon his partner because that's what Jesus demands of him... unless he turns his back on his marriage I think Guy believes his friend will go to Hell. Is this the bottom line for Guy here? Did he choose promiscuity because in his mind he believed he was either on the wrong side completely, or on the right side completely? Dualistic thinking draws lines for us and then forces us to reject the complexity of our lives. I think Guy is bisexual, as is the woman his ministry hired. They are bisexual and so its possible to make a choice to live heterosexually and not go mad. I am heterosexual and I would have a very hard time living with a male partner - its not for me. I think if most fully heterosexual people thought about it like that they would have a hard time demanding that LGBTQ people try to either stop, or choose to force heterosexuality on themselves. I would not be ok with having to force a myself into a homosexual relationship and I believe that people who are fully gay would suffer the same way.
      Knowing gay people has shown this to me. So many struggle because of family and religion to the point that they attempt, or complete suicide. If they can get beyond that thinking and embrace their sexuality they can live unburdened by living a lie. I've seen it.
      Religion can be messy and people understandably run from it. It can just make us sick. So, I shut out some of these voices. I checked out the movie because my heart breaks for the LGBTQ community and the damage done by many Christians - including guy. I like that he wants people to be loved and valued. He wants people to be respected and cared for. But he wants people who are gay to live in opposition to their sexuality. This can torment people and take them to really dark places.
      My message to people who are not bisexual, like guy and his female coworker, for people who are on the end of the spectrum, who are completely gay and cannot imagine partnering with someone of the opposite sex, You are not disgusting, you are not a horrible person, you are not a mistake, you are not evil and you do not have to reject fidelity, love and belonging in order to be accepted and loved by God. Jesus was not focused on getting people into heaven - Jesus was concerned about now - that now, we are invited to walk with God and join God in what God is doing - the eternal quality of life can be had now, in the life you are living; the kingdom of heaven is now: we can walk in harmony with now. In the end, God wins; Love wins. God gets what God wants - God is restoring ALL THINGS; redeeming ALL THINGS; we are all invited to the feast no matter what... but so many Christians love the worthiness game they are playing and they love that the idea that they are escaping hell. God is not on the hook with Satan; Satan doesn't have God stuck in some kind of legal battle where violence was required in order for us to be free. God is more powerful than that. So... to Guy's gay friend, stay with your partner - honor the fidelity and loyalty you have had for so many years - that is what God wants for you - live without fear - live in response to Love - that is the nature of things - make the world a better place and dig deeper into the meaning of life. Christ has given me this. Shut out all the fear mongers who believe in a punisher God.
      on youtube you can check out Rob Bell's video: 'Everything is Spiritual.' Check out the Liturgists Podcast, the episode entitled, LGBTQ. There is more to the mystery. You don't have to hate your sexuality. Guy is bisexual and you may not be; his journey is not your journey.

      Steve, I must say, I admire your desire to seek truth, and open mindedness to account for our own lack of comprehension of the divine. Though, in the name of truth and love, I would like to defend Guy and my faith. It seems to me that you are assuming that religion is from man, and not linked to the true nature of God, when in actuality religion is an institute established by God for man. Yes, it does have its flaws, but that’s not because of its own religious nature, but because it is run by imperfect men. The church was established by Jesus Christ in his coming to earth, and its teachings are from the Holy Spirit, so I would caution your dismissal of organized religion as nothing but confused man. Secondly, I do not mean to sound aggressive or hateful, but you simply cannot use the name of Jesus Christ to refute his own teachings. Jesus did indeed come to earth in order that we may see heaven. Jesus does call us to repent of our unrighteousness and to become holy. And heaven most certainly is not on earth. I do not know if you believe in the Holy Bible, but if you do, you see that it is clearly taught that earth is not our home; it is merely a passing through. And in your own words, man is like a one dimensional being trying to comprehend the fifth dimension, so why then would you trust your own philosophy over God's teachings about himself. Or how shall you even know what you believe is true, where is your point of reference? In all honesty, you are merely fabricating God to fit all of your own desires and ideas, which is equivalent to making up your own God. I'm sorry but that is not God, God is holy and just, therefore he must punish the wicked, it appreteins to His own glory, and if that is not true, why then did Christ die for our sins. The final thing I would like to say is that nowhere in scripture is it required for you to get married, Guys decision to marry was his own, and not required of any same-sex attracted believers. And taming one's sexuality in the name of God is not unique to non heterosexuals; straight believers must not lust, must not have sex before marriage, and must view all women as sisters with the upmost purity (even in their thoughts). Sexual freedom (even though I should actually call it ‘sexual immorality) will not satisfy the human soul; there is more to life. I say all of this not to argue with you or prove you wrong, but simply to discuss our point of views, may God be with you.

      Cristian _ None of that proves why it’s a “god” that created the universe.. specifically “your” god that wants to convert gay people so badly for some reason. People can say whatever they want thousands of years ago and everyone else would agree. You can’t prove he’s real or Jesus came back to life. People believed eachother no matter what back then.

Much like in the Incredibles, when Mr Incredible's boss says, "The law requires that I answer no," that is the extent I hear of God's love for me, a passing obligatory and unbelieving footnote. I would love to one day believe that maybe he does and has a use for me, but after years of deluding myself, I have given up.

      Hi Nate. I'm really sorry you feel that way, and I don't believe God feels that way. Have you tried reaching out to Strength in Weakness, Guy's ministry? Perhaps you could have a more thorough discussion about your thoughts and predicament there.

      @@nategraham6946 Hey Nate, Guy Hammond here. This morning is actually the first time I've looked at the comments section since the movie was released, and of course, came across yours. I'd be happy to speak with you if you are ever open to it. I certainly don't have all the answers as I try to figure out things myself, but sometimes you just need a safe place to go. If this is something you're interested in, click the link and emphasize in your note that I reached out and my admin will connect us. If you would prefer not to talk, I understand. The film raises important issues but it isn't the most controversial Christian Film ever. What is most controversial is some things assumed or not said and the questions at the end of this article should be faced. See article: "About the film 'Finding Guy' - away from gay " wp.me/p6Zhz7-dI

    Guy uses a literalistic reading of the Bible to reach conclusions. Often times this ignores context, history and culture and what the Bible is actually getting at... and what it means for us today.

    • @jacobs3948
      @jacobs3948 4 года назад

      Steve Wiebe Yes some people do take the Bible too literally nowadays. It changes so often throughout time too. I’m not a believer though because it was thousands of years ago and if you look all around the globe people have tons of beliefs stemming from thousands of years ago when humans were new to this world and we were trying to find answers and comfort (is my theory). And I do respect people who are religious, but this guy takes it to a whole new level where I can’t avoid it and I have to say something.

      @@jacobs3948 I think you're on to some thing when you say that they were looking for comfort. There is something in all of us that wants answers and many of us have tried to understand the mysteries of life... why are we here? What does it all mean? Etc... our society today wants us to find peace in Netflix, McDonald's, Microsoft and drugs (prescription, or otherwise lol)... It doesn't sound very elegant when we really think about it.... i think there is more to life

    Are you some variation of an "ex-gay?" You people always come out with different fruit and flavors with your message. And of course straight Christians are going to swallow up what you have to say because it's an excuse to not love their gay neighbor.

    • @inYTbio_SiteLINKs2Verses_Bruv
      @inYTbio_SiteLINKs2Verses_Bruv 4 года назад +1

      @Prajiv Proctor Guess what? I did listen to the whole video and he is an "ex-gay." I just wanted to hear it from him because I wanted to see if would be honest with the title. Loving and engaging the gay community should be a given if you truly love your gay neighbor as yourself, as a follower of Christ, you shouldn't need to hear that from another to do it.

    • @jacobs3948
      @jacobs3948 4 года назад

      Prajiv Proctor It’s funny that you say that, you don’t agree with Muslims but you people don’t hold up signs and preach for them to change do you? Why do you feel it’s appropriate to do so to gay people. Not everyone has the same religious beliefs and you need to respect them.

      @@jacobs3948 I don't think he's crazy, just mistaken with what the place he thinks God has taken him to.
      I wouldn't call him out on this if this was his own, personal, struggle, but when you speak from a place of authority like he does here, then he needs to be challenged openly. I don't know what it is about these "ex-gays" who feel they need to start a "life-changing" ministry when it's the same song and dance message a long line of those before him have given.
