One of the greatest documentaries that I have seen! We are to treat people equally, as God treats us equally. We are to love people no matter what choice people make in life, whether good or bad. To love God is a person's choice and Guy is very REAL in sharing his whole life to us. Guy is a great hero and friend and "Finding Guy" is a search for grace and truth.

Lilet, he didn't bridge the gap. He may help us approach the gap by asking Christians not to be hateful, but the gap exists. He believes in a punisher God who created the world with a place in he'll for people who identify as homosexual and live honestly with that. That's the gap, "repent, or be cast off." That isn't a quote from the bible.

@@Keydogo No, I was looking at a response to one of my comments. Much of Christianity has been focused on shame, guilt and fear. A lot of people react against that who were raised in the church, or when considering becoming a Christian. Because of this theology people reject Christ. I don't think we need to change the way we think in order to suit their needs - I think the theology is wrong.
Guy lived a life full of promiscuity for a while. Sure, that's empty and painful and should be rejected. That's similar to the type of same sex activity the bible is talking about. Roman oppression used rape of non-Romans as a tool to oppress them and keep them down; it was the Roman way - it was written in their laws. That's what the writers of the bible were opposed to. It's evident today that there are people who are born gay. Guy is bisexual. Sexuality, much like a lot if other things has a spectrum guy falls in the middle somewhere. That's how he was able to marry a woman and have children. I believe we were designed for fidelity and community, to belong - those are sacred for us. God wants those things for gay people. I believe it's wrong to tell them that they can only be acceptable to God if they reject their impulse for fidelity, family and community... unless they fake it with a woman. I think what guy had with his wife was sincere. ... but there are many gay people who would really suffer with mental health to the point of suicide if they had to attempt what guy was able to do, again because he isn't gay. So, yeah, I think what guy is doing is actually dangerous.

Gay people can live whole lives accepting who they are, loving themselves and having healthy relationships, centered around fidelity. Loyalty, commitment, family community and belonging. That is what Jesus was teaching and what Christians should teach around sexuality.

Do you understand what it means to have faith? Faith is based on the scriptures. The scriptures dont support the LGBT etc community.
Furthermore, you speak about the LGBT+ as a single community. A hive mind. If it is then one supports, "We want to convert your children", trans people with questionable outfits and dancing reading to children.
What we have is a crisis in mascalinity in society that is Epicuiran rather than Stoic that is destroying society.
This is making society weak for brutal societies that hate gays to take over.

Hey, I watched the whole thing last night. I've left comments on the end of part three. Guy has same sex attraction, but is/was also sexually attracted to his wife otherwise they wouldn't have been able to have children. Guy is bisexual. Because his initial sexual experiences were with men, he chose that path, but was able to make the choice later on to only act on his sexual attraction to his wife. This video misrepresents the struggles of people who are on the LGBTQ spectrum who cannot embrace living with a partner of the opposite sex. Guy would also say that he isn't gay, but only has same sex attraction... by the terms used by the rest of our society, Guy is bisexual.

There is a lot of theological evidence that the Bible does NOT condemn homosexuality. And there are many Gay Christians, and no, that is not an oxymoron. I hate when I hear it said that we have to choose between homosexuality and Jesus, because that simply is not true. I've spent 8 years of formal Bible College/Seminary study researching this subject. An I hold three theological degrees. I’ve lived a Christian life for decades as a gay man. And I’ve been in many ministries, as a gay man.

KJOHNS51, re read your bible. The Bible is very clear about homosexuality. Read Romans 1:18-32, especially what it says in the following passage: “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭26‬-‭27‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    • @mistersydster
      @mistersydster Год назад

Guy answers this viewpoint superbly in another place so I'll very loosely quote him. The view that the Bible does not condemn homosexual relationships is a very new one. It's only in the 1960's that this theology started appearing and being accepted by some. That means, for more than 1900 years the universal understanding of scripture was that the Bible condemned homosexual lifestyles. Do you think they got it wrong for 1900 years and then in the 60's they figured it out? Or do you think there are reasons this view became popular in the 60's in particular, that have nothing to do with what the Bible says? I think the latter is far more likely.

If you think the Bible is from God, you should read this very important comment
    1. Let's start with the Old Testament ..
If you read the Old Testament, you will find that at the end of the Book of Deuteronomy, it is mentioned that Moses died.
If I asked any Christian about the Old Testament about who descended he would say descended on Moses ..
But the Old Testament mentions the book of Joshua and the book of Judges and beyond until the end of the Old Testament reminds them that they were revealed to Moses and that they are from God, but at the end of the Book of Deuteronomy Moses died ...So how is the book of Joshua and what came after him descended upon Moses and Moses was dead .. So after the Book of Deuteronomy until the end of the Old Testament it is not from God ..
This is clear evidence that the Bible was present at the time of Joshua, and all that after the Book of Deuteronomy is not the Torah .. (Then Joshua built an altar to the Lord God of Israel in Mount Ebal, as Moses the servant of the Lord commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses. Joshua chapter chapter 8
And there he wrote on the stones a copy of the Torah of Moses that he wrote before the children of Israel. Joshua chapter chapter 8
Where is this real Torah ????
After that, all the words of the Torah read: Blessing and cursing, According to all that was written in the Book of the Torah, it is clear that the book of Joshua has not been confirmed. After the Book of Deuteronomy until the end of the Old Testament, it is not from God .. We have left from the Book of Genesis to the end of the Book of Deuteronomy, which constitutes approximately 8% 100 of the Old Testament ... and this section of the Old Testament contains errors, contradictions and many distortions that prove that it is not from God, and this is a lot of evidence ...
The Lord God said to the Beard: “Because you did this, cursed, you are from all beasts and from all the wild beasts of the wilderness. On your belly, you will eat ninety and dust.
(Genesis chapter 3) Does the snake eat dirt ????
44 And the priest came and saw, and when the plague spread over the house, it was a leprosy leper in the house. He is unclean. 45 So he demolishes the house: his stones and timber and all the dust of the house, and takes it out of the city to the place of Makan. (Leviticus .. Chapter 14.35) Does it make sense that the wall develops leprosy disease?
    ..
    And also
13 And the priest saw, and when the lepers had covered all of his body, he ruled the purity of the multiplication. All is white. He is pure. Leviticus chapter 13
20 And if the priest sees, and behold, it looks deeper than the skin and its hair is bleached, the priest shall be ruled impure. It is a stroke of leprosy. Leviticus XIII ... How can a person who has a stroke of unclean leprosy be covered?
In other words, whoever gets impure on something, who is unclean, and who is completely covered with impurity, is pure. Do not be surprised, as the Bible says ..
Also .. (47) “As for the garment, if there is a stroke of leprosy, a garment of wool or a garment of flax, 48 in the lord, or the flesh of the tithe of the third, ..God tested Abraham, and he said to him, "Abraham!" He said, "Here I am." He said: “Take your son alone, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Mary, and I will bring it up to you with a free solution.”
The twenty-second chapter ... (The Qur’an mentioned that the intended slaughter is Ismail) ... It was mentioned here that his only son, Isaac, but Isaac was not the only one of Abraham, because Ismail was older than Isaac, 14 years old.How is his only son .... See how great a distortion was that no one paid attention to ... Is it not reasonable that the Lord's test of Abraham was to slaughter Ishmael and not Isaac because he mentioned in the Bible “Take your son alone, whom you love,”
This incident was in Ismail and not in Isaac, and it was before the birth of Isaac ..It was intended to slaughter Ishmael and not Isaac ...
This is a huge fallacy that no one paid attention to.
You will answer me that Isaac was bringing the good tidings and I am telling you that Ismail also brought the good news I will give you evidence
    ..
(7 Fujdha angel of the Lord on the fountain of water in the wilderness, the fountain in the way to Shur. 8 And he said: «, Hagar, Sarai, where do you come from? And where are you going?». And she said: «I am a fugitive from the face of my mistress Sarai». 9 And he said the angel of the Lord “Return to your mourners, and submit under her hands.” 10 And the angel of the Lord said to her, “Make more of your offspring than you shall be counted.”11 And the angel of the Lord said to her, “Here you are pregnant, give birth to a son, and you will call his name Ishmael, because the Lord has heard you.” 12 And he shall be a brutal man, whose hand is upon every one, and the hands of every one are upon him, and before all his brethren he dwelleth. 13 And she called the name of the Lord, with whom he spoke: “You are my god.” Because she said: “Has she also seen after seeing?” 14 Therefore, the well was called "the well of my beard". Here it is between Qadish and Cold.15 So Hagar gave birth to Abram a son. Abram called his son's name
It was born by Hagar, "Ishmael." )
It also came from fallacies .. (23 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor on the border of the land of Edom, saying: 24 «includes Aaron to his people because he does not enter the land that was given to the children of Israel, because you rebelled against my word at the water suspicious .25 Take Aaron and Eleazar his son and bring them up to Mount Hur, then he says ..28 Moses departed from Aaron his garments, and Eleazar put on his son to them. Aaron died there on the top of the mountain, and Moses and Eleazar descended on the mountain. Book of Numbers. Chapter Twenty .. Here he says that Aaron died and was buried in Mount Hor
6 And the children of Israel journeyed from the wells of the children of Yaakan to Moser. There Aaron died, and there was buried. Deuteronomy. Chapter X .. Here he says that Aaron died and was buried in Moser. This is a clear contradiction .. Is it possible that these mistakes are from God ??? It means that the Old Testament is from humans and not from God ..
As for the New Testament, there is a lot of evidence that it is not from God .. From this evidence ... you find that the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Luke and the Gospel of John differ from each other how they are from God..and also in the Gospel of Luke says its writer (1 when many have taken the author of the story of the things we have the uncertain 2 and handed it over to us who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word, 3 I'm also seen as everything has been traced from the first audit, to write straight to you, O splendor Psalm Thaphophilis 4, to know the authenticity of the words with which you were taught...This is clear evidence that the Bible was written by the Christians and that the correct version of the Bible does not know where it is ... Also the author of the Gospel of John says (and many other things made by Jesus, if one is written
One, I do not think that the world itself can accommodate the written books of the Gospel of John chapter 21 .....This is also evidence that all existing Bible books are not from God and that they were written and written by humans and not from God ... As for the rest of the New Testament from the Acts of the Apostles to the end of the New Testament it is also not from God because the Bible came down to Christ and Christ ascended to heaven and all the apostles' works until the end of the New Testament took place after Christ's ascension to heaven ...All of these were written as from God, but in reality they are not from God .... Likewise, there is nothing in the New Testament that affirms the doctrine of the Trinity ... and this proves that the doctrine of the Trinity is made by humans and not from God ... The Qur’an mentioned this fact more than 1,400 years ago, and those who write the books vow to say that it is from God, God said in the Qur’an(Woe to those who write the book with their hands, then they say this from God to buy a little price for it. Woe to them from what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn)
The Qur’an mentioned that Jesus was preaching to people that the Prophet Muhammad would come after him
It was mentioned in the Gospel of Barnabas that Jesus preached to the people the coming of the Prophet Muhammad
I found that the Qur’an is the true book that is from God, and God said about the Qur’an as stated in the Qur’an in Surat al-Nisaa, verse 82 (Do they not manage the Qur’an, even if it was from other than God, and they will find a lot of difference in it) I have read the Qur’an many times and I have not found any difference
So I invite you to read the Quran and you will find the greatness of this book
