I’ve had the Oh Snap Wallet for about a week. My honest opinion. I like it as it works for me and my preferences. What I like is that I can customize it to how I want. I can attach it to the back of my phone or carry it at a slim stand alone wallet. Its well built but very thin. Definitely feels thinner than a Ridge Wallet. I can carry 5 flat cards, 4 flat cards and 1 with raised numbers or 3 cards with raised numbers. If I want to carry more than that, I can double stack the wallet and carry twice as much, but certainly would be too big and heavy to attach to the back of my phone.
Room for improvement: for as thin as the actual wallet is, it’s a little heavy. I can really feel the weight when I have it attached to my iPhone 13 mini. The carbon fiber cover is nice out the box but I realize the gloss layer scratches easily and is a finger print magnet. I would prefer a matte finish instead of gloss on carbon fiber, but its not a deal breaker. I have the titanium cover as well it works just fine. I have the ID cover as well and attach it to my wallet when my wallet is not attached to my phone. I did not think I would like the ID cover as much as I do. I love how the wallet locks into the phone mount. Much more secure than other magsafe type wallets.
What I think they could do better? The pricing. The ID card holder which holds one card is $35. One carbon fiber or titanium cover is $46. For just two titanium covers to cover the front and back of the wallet ($82) that’s almost the cost of a Ridge Titanium wallet. The Snapwallet Phone Mount ($9.99) stayed fastened to my cellphone case for about a week and came off. I used Gorilla Glue to re-attach it to the back of my cell phone case and its solid. Keeping it in perspective, the Oh Snap Wallet is cheaper than a Louis Vuitton cardholder wallet or other premium minimalist wallets. I love mine, but its not for everyone.

I used a 35% off and ordered a Card Wallet (carbon fiber) with a bundled 4 modules (including the knife) and an extra cash band model so I can mimic the function of my Ekster as closely as possible. Can’t wait to get mine next month and put it against my Ekster.

I've had 3 Ekster wallets, two of which are the carbon fiber. I recently moved to the Oh Snap wallet with 2 card modules, the ID card module, and the carbon fiber cover. My complaint about Ekster is the elastic band. That needs to be a standalone purchase. I shouldn't have to buy a new wallet to get a new band, as they lose elasticity in a pretty short amount of time. I really like the Oh Snap but it is pricey.

It looks like a very expensive gimmick, Mark! You gave it 3 for usability, yet you have to hold it in a very particular way so as not to squeeze the very thin sides against the cards! The fact you have to get used to holding it in a special way means it's not that easy to use. The cost is absolutely prohibitive, I believe. I can carry over 20 bills, folded in half, in the money clip, or as few as two securely. Very easy to find the card I want in the card case without removing any other cards too. My point being, K.I.S.S. Simple and inexpensive is sometimes the best.

Doez it magnetize other cards....like the pitaka does?

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  Год назад +1

No, thank goodness. Where the magnets are placed are away from direct contact with the magnets which are very small.

Is it hard to take out the middle cards??

    • @walletopia

Yes, although it does fan them out. It's easier than a sandwich wallet like a Ridge, but takes skill.

There is no way to buy the wallet in Germany, no international shipping possible in ohsnap shop, only Canada or USA. Something like that is not promoted if you want to make a sentence

Seriously ?? Most important part ruined.
Cash bills 💵 to store like that take the whole thing out ?
And Coins go where ? House or car key 🔑 ?
For those who say cash & coins are not being used much, I would say so doesn’t cards, as digital wallets are there. ID cards are there still I know.
The day $ bills and coins are not being used I don’t need a god damn wallet. Just the phone will do.

Becoming a minimalist fanatic has reduced me to watching wallet reviews but you’re an entertaining soul nonetheless, sir.
Flattery aside, this wallet seems very, very, VERY gimmicky for what it’s trying to be an do. Magnets in the wallet itself will damage cards as modern card technologies use magnets themselves. The segments sound like they may be made of a cheap material, the lever mechanism looks like it could break easy, and something tells me that this “Lego wallet” would break into pieces if I, a six foot guy, dropped it on the hard tile ground of my workplace.
Another concern is that each “segment” has it’s own lever mechanism, meaning they will all fan the 3-5 cards at same length repeatedly. One two three, one two three, rather than 1 through 6, if that makes any sense? It’s hard to phrase what I mean in text form, but I hope the point gets across.
Not to mention these prices… this thing looked like it was around the $200 ballpark. I think I’ll stick to Rossm.

The only thing of value you said was high price.
Without testing it u can't say it's low quality, specially when the man gave it 5 stars for quality. And if you are smart enough you would put the most used cards in one section. With this style of wallets its easier to find one card between 5 rather than fish out 1 from 10.
