    Here is the HONEST TRUTH about EKSTER and the Parliament Wallet. The TESLA of wallets, one that James Bond will use? Not quite. Though there is nothing WRONG with these wallets, they don’t do anything better than a lot of other brands/POP UP wallets on the market for a similar price. Except for marketing perhaps lol. So here are 4 other brands/wallets that have a better QUALITY, WARRANTY, CARRYING CAPACITY and all for around the same PRICE or better. The SECRID Miniwallet, ANDAR Pilot, FANTOM X and Groove Life wallet.

    The non-leather one is primarily just a card holder. It took some effort for you to get the cash into the "cash cabin". So, definitely gonna need the same effort to get the cash back out. That just goes to show you with minimalist wallets, a cash strap or money clip is better.

  • @TiddyFreckle

    The Ekster wallet isn't glued around the aluminum housing. its stitched. And plastic card ejectors are actually better than metal because it won't scratch up the cards as easily. I do agree that the Ekster should have an option for a snap button.

    I have had the Ekster aluminum wallet for nearly 2 years. I stumbled across this review as I was looking for the AirTag options and kind of rabbit-holed from there. My issue with the review is you covered the leather Eksters but did not discuss the aluminum/carbon fiber options. The Ekster will hold the 6 cards as you pointed out but I also carry an additional 6 cards under the plate that is attached to the money band. This plate is also RFID proof. Again, I appreciate your insight but think this review could have had more information that included the aluminum/carbon fiber options and included the features that those wallets contain.

    Thanks. I was gonna' pull on the Ekster last night and honestly it was not a bad option and still might get one cause it's on sale plus a coupon brought it down to $44. I decided to do the GL wallet after seeing your video and doing some more research. Big selling points are the warranty and quality!

    My gripe with your options is that the designs are not flush in terms of the fanning mechanisms. The reason I like the Ekster wallets is the flush mechanism that is not oddly placed. And for me design and style is also just something i care about hence ekster is my wallet.

      I heard people who bought that wallet the Ekster The Fanning mechanism died in a year and they had to buy a new wallet unless it was covered under the warranty. My friend bought one as well and it didn't work after a year

    Hey man! I am so glad I came across this comparison. At first I was a little skeptic and just thought you were just biased against the Ekster. However, you made really good points across your video with the other wallets. I was about to pull the trigger on a Parliament and also an Aluminum one from Ekster to check them out and then return whichever did not work for me.
    I ended up doing some research on the Groove and also the Secrid. I think I am going to go with one of the Secrid premium collection mini wallets with the metal lever mechanism. I definitely won't be filling it up as much as you were in this video. I want to keep it small but have the option of putting extra cards inside if I want to. I will probably just have one card inside each small pocket inside. They also have a little coin pocket so I might get that too just in case.
    Thanks again for your comparison!

I tried a few different brands and the secrid slim indigo 3 that i got is actually stunning. true craftsmanship and quality. kind of expensive but the leather quality, stitching, and features are just top notch. so worth it for something youre going to keep and use every day for years.

    You start the video with what you don't like about Esker, but you never show the aluminum version on that table and address all of those concerns. Why not compare the aluminum Esker wallet, which allows for additional cards without having to fold the wallet and can hold money easily.

    Thanks!!

    • @Joshua88Graham
      @Joshua88Graham  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the kind reply and sub, my friend. Very happy to hear you found the video helpful (: In terms of just folding in half, I haven't really come across anything. Because of the form factor of these card holders, the dimensions are usually fitted closely to that of a credit card. Which means a bill or cash folded in half is going to run wide and not fit, so you have to fold it twice. The best cash carrying pop up wallets for me are Secrid and Pularys. I have videos of Pularys, so maybe check them out too. They both carry bills/cash the best in my opinion.

  • @EricBishard
    @EricBishard 9 месяцев назад +5

    You should test these with embossed credit cards only in the future. Best test would be to have 5 embossed CC with at least 1 metal credit card and and two IDs, 5 US bills, and a card Tile.
    These are the items you should test all of the wallets with.

    I would not like the cash band walking around with my folded bills exposed every time I take out my wallet. For one... it's catnip to muggers. Then you have to unfurl the bills for the cashier. However I do like the card ejector thingy; I am currently fighting with my cards, especially since one of my credit cards and debit card are identical.

      i do have to add that i added 2 pieces of thick paper umder the felts so it holds the cards more securely. completely forgot about xD but easy to mod. have it there for years and didn't have to babysit it. so if you prefer stronger fir just mod it yourself. all i did was life the felt with tweezers (it holds at the top.) slid the paper under. then lay the felt over it. and its perfect. the paper fits into a groove so there is no way for it to get out unless i take it out myself

      100 % ! There’s a lot of independent leather makers out there that put together some really beautiful stuff. Can’t disagree with you there. In regards to the big box or mass brand manufacturers, I just think there is a level you should reach before charging 70-100 dollars for a wallet…which I don’t think Elster quite reaches. I liked the video but I feel like you just got the wrong Ekster wallet. Alot of the things you don’t like about the Parliament can be fixed by getting the Senate version. They are priced a bit too high for what you get. I appreciate you sharing though my friend, as the Senate for sure won’t pose that problem.

    I have an Ekster Parliament. Not because I pursued it, but because of a rewards program and Ekster was one of the promoted brands. My rewards were about to expire and I had been considering moving on from my Ridge wallet that I've been using for a couple years. I got around $20 off the wallet. I too am disappointed in how the wallet rests open with minimal items in the folding section. I'll use it for a bit to see if it grows on me, but I have doubts.

    • @Joshua88Graham
      @Joshua88Graham  Год назад +3

      It was the biggest turn off for me, the design. I think having the band on the inside like that was a terrible move. No one wants their wallet flopping around like that. Again, its not a terrible product...there's just so much competition out there...it's hard to recommend Ekster over other offerings. Hopefully it grows on ya! If you didn't get the tracker, maybe try folding the bills and placing them in the spot made for the tracker. It wont hold many, but at least it wont interfere with the wallet and cause it to flop open.

With that said; If he spent that money to keep the family in their home and feed and living at the standard they are used to then she is wrong for saying he stole the money. One of the most important reasons to have a saving account is for emergencies or hard times.

    I'm not fond of metal, plastic or carbon fiber wallets. Hard materials don't bend when inside your pants pockets. Leather wallets are the best for me and there are more expensive wallets you featured here compared to the Easter.
    The Groove wallet card extractor is sloppy and the cards are on top of each other when ejected.
    The one thing I don't like about the Andar wallet is the trigger is sticking out.
    The Secrid is nice but again the trigger is sticking out and the tab to hold it closed makes it look like a coin purse 😂 so I disagree with you that it is the king of wallets.
    I bought the ekster parliament wallet already, it looks way better than your wallet you recommend.

    Why wouldn’t you review the aluminum style Ekster wallets.. seeing as they are sitting right there. You talk a lot about the leather version in which most of your gripes are solely to due the leather design etc rather than the main housing unit.
    Feel like this was intentionally avoided to make the rest of the comparisons have more weight for the sake of the video. For example I myself was not interested in the leathers at all but was hoping for a review on the aluminum / carbon fibre units instead

Frankly, if you want a leather wallet, buy a leather wallet and skip over the card box designs. I watched other of your videos and frankly, you can do better than that!

    • @Joshua88Graham
      @Joshua88Graham  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for sharing, but just because I don't share the same opinion it does not mean I am biased or should be doing better. I stand by what I say, this review was about the leather variants of pop up wallets. I do not think Ekster is a bad wallet at all, as I state in many of my videos. But when it comes down to build quality, warranty, functionality and price. Ekster does not win any of these categories. If you read comments on these very same videos many people speak on mechanisms failing with Ekster. Again, I don't even speak on that as I'm sure milage may vary between different people. I don't think it's a bad wallet, but for the price you pay there are a lot of other options out there. That's all I'm trying to show...Ekster does the best at advertising by far, so people should also know whats out there and make their choice.

    • @Snowcap-CrewBear
      @Snowcap-CrewBear 5 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for the response Josh. Your video was informative, and I enjoyed viewing it. I intended no questioning of your intent, but rather thought it better to present the options to the Exster...all on a level playing field. Your stated preference for the Secrid wallet, while honest, seemed to set aside the concept of a level playing field. Look, you are an articulate young fellow, and you create interesting video reviews. Hell, I am a fellow who was so influenced by the Exster advertising that I bought one and then went on to buy a Ridge and an Exster wallet for my two college age grandsons. I'm probably as biased as anyone in this exchange...and I do admit that Exster does tend to overdo the follow-on sales pitches to a buyer of their product(s). Thanks for listening! @@Joshua88Graham

    • @Joshua88Graham
      @Joshua88Graham  9 месяцев назад +1

      From this video here, I’m going to have to say the Fantom X has a really smooth action. Truly like butter. The Andar one feels really solid to me, I don’t know what it is, but it definitely fans out with some power. Groove life is good but it’s hard to tell as it’s a slide up. Though that’s not a bad thing. And Secrid though not smooth or super powerful in fanning cards out - it just works. I would avoid Vulkit though, I have them featured in a video somewhere but it’s really cheap. Though at the price I guess you can’t be too upset at what you get. If you’re looking for real value I’d look to Pularys. They I think are cheaper than Vulkit, but built much much better. Hope that helps!
