so glad you two finally took a break
Hi
Nice
Bien
To keep wasps away, hang a paper bag filled with packing material and a few pebbles to bulk it out to look like a wasp nest. No wasps will nest near it or venture around that spot. I've been doing this for three years and it works. My heart goes out to the electric company worker.
Gasoline and fire work good too! Lol
Thanks, will try 😜💯👍
My heart went to the worker too...I'm allergic to bees and would have been on my way to hosp.
I about died when the bears were in the drive where you were staying. I enjoyed watching you the past 4 yrs
There are also patterns crocheting them, I did that after awhile. I think you could also make one out of paper mache and a balloon. They do work.
Of course where that nest was, the first time with heavy dew or rain your bag is history.
You both deserve this so much, remember that what you are building, whether your home or your RUclips channel, is all for nothing if you sacrifice your health and your family time to achieve it. Take time regularly for yourselves as a family, because ultimately once you've dedicated all your time to your work, it will be too late for anything but regrets.
The last “long” drought in Texas, it had been so long since we’d had rain; that when it did finally rain, I ran outside and danced in it. Water binds us to the land, and to each other. I love my adopted home state (Texas), but I miss the rain and green of my “true” home state (Florida).
Can not believe it's been 4 years watching all you both have done seeing now 2 babies grown ,many prayers congratulations ,Beautiful family place 🙏🚜welcome to the New Chapter and the rest of the family 👨👩👦👦, quite in woods in mountains is Almighty GOD beautiful prints each day or night are different enjoy
I think I subscribed at 35k. They have come a long long way for sure and it has been enjoyable to watch.
I've followed you, Spencer and now the family since your 1st program aired. Simply 1 of the best weekly airing so far. Congratulations on removing those eyesores of un-needed light poles. Looking forward to the many more years of air time.
Roy, have you looked at the Indie Project? A couple in Portugal. These are my two favorites.
IKR!!
I've been following since the beginning too, and the thing that amazes me right now is that it's already four years that has gone by!!!
WHAT???!!
FOUR YEARS?!!!
4 years,
2 kids,
And now-
The poles are finally GONE.
The Uncontained Life
Truly IS "The Good Life" !
@@suedorfman7138 I also watch and love The Indie Project. This vlog and theirs are my favorites.
Spencer and MacKenzie and family heading into the mountains at the same time as Theo and Bea come to my scenic country of Canada is amazing. Hard working families taking time to enjoy their dreams away from home. 🇨🇦🍁🦫
@@lzee6875 I am in hot, hot Phoenix AZ. So I really appreciated their cool mountain trip and the great storm they drove through. Had to laugh at Kenzies reaction to mama and her 4 babies. I hope Bea and Theo have a wonderful trip and enjoy their overdue vacation. Bet Gingybear and Furnando will be so happy to see them. Take care
Same here
I know exactly how you feel about losing those old electric poles. I remember when we had our old garbage can replaced with a shiny new one. There were so many good memories attached to the old can. Chasing it down the street during a windstorm, giving it a yearly bath, trudging down the driveway in two feet of snow carrying it to the curb, and standing on it to hang Xmas lights. It's been 17 years since the dented rust bucket actually went into the garbage truck. Thinking about it brings tears to our eyes. At least you have photo's of your poles. We never took any.
😂😂👍
Sorry for your loss 🤣
That's the funniest shit I've heard all day 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💔
Exactly, I remember using those aluminum trash cans as a vessel...we would wash them clean and take them up a grass hill and climb into it and roll down the hill. It was fun and dangerous, but we had all the kids at bottom of hill ready to stop catch us and then the next kid would go up and do it again. The hill wasn't that high, it was just high enough to roll our small butts down as we all laughed coming down 🤪
Miss doing that, memories are all we have now but boy we had fun.
Blessings to you and your family from El Paso Texas 💙
Couldn't stop laughing .. I'm sorry, I shouldn't be, its so sad, losing that garbage can.. Not even a photo😂😂😂
😊Wow... you actually shared a bit of your vacation with us, your fans. The aerial views were fantastic and to see the love you share with each other and the Children (and your pets), is truly great. You chose some amazing places for your break and I'm super happy you were able to finally take advantage of that. Thanks for sharing. Please take your time returning home...
When you said 4 and a half years. I said man I have watching that long .
Time to build a playground for the ķids.
That was a beautiful travel vlog, the scenery was amazing and seeing momma bear and her cubs was the so cute and entertaining to watch.
I'm hoping that a playground that you migh build will be snake free. Particularly free of water moccasins. The one thing that has long worried me about the kids safety in your homestead is those poisonous snakes. Rattlers aren't a picnic, either.
Very cute, till momma bear eats you alive
Yes!! Would love to come stay in the barn!! Have followed you kids since the very start of container’s delivery!❤️❤️💕💙🙏
Nope not for me, there are poisons snakes hanging around there. :)
Understand the familiar power poles being gone... Looks great without WIRES!
Me too!! Lol. Even if I just got to camp near it! Hahaha
If we gotta meet you guys, I'd definitely do the barn B&B.
Very nice that you managed to get away for a holiday trip - and timing it for getting rid of those power poles and wires was opportune. The various parks you went to looked delightful, and coming across the black bear with her cubs was so special. I imagine that was definitely one of the highlights of the entire trip.
Oh that’s just lovely. You both deserve a break so so much. I hope that it was restorative and gave you a sense of no urgency to do anything but what you want. You need to do this more often just for your own sanity, your content is always fabulous no matter what you’re doing, so don’t worry about that! Greetings from a very green Scotland. You’d love it here too.
This trip was so well deserved. Hope you feel rejuvenated and ready to start something new. Can’t wait to see what you have planned.😊
yeah , she was rejuvenated when she saw those bares .lol
I think I reported this comment by accident.
I feel the same way. They really deserved this trip 🌄🌞🌞.
Looks lots better without the eye sore polls.
I found a strawberry field in the mountains of Montana when I was young, after realizing I was stomping the strawberries, I figured out I could pick and eat them. A short while later a breeze blew in my face and it carried the foulest smell. A black bear had decided to join me in the patch, and even from 50ish yards away its stench was gagging. I actually had a brief moment of good sense and took me and my fishing pole the opposite direction of the bear.
Congrats on the completion of your "AWESOME" home. I too have been watching you two for a couple of years and I'm envious and happy for you. You've done an amazing job on your container home. You've also built an amazing family. What an experience it will be for your kids to grow up in such a wonderful place.
We’re so blessed what we have trees, mountains, waterfalls, humans and animals. Nature is the best place. Glad you shared the beautiful scenery. Cheers 🥂
and wasps
Feeling emotional after removing a couple of useless, ugly posts, or cutting down an old tree, isn't make you weak or weird. It makes you a human, and we have very few of them left around here. I love how happy I feel after watching your videos, even if you not building anything just vlogging through a trip. You are awesome!
I’d love to see how close they are to all of the wind turbines(clean energy) monstrosities in Texas that take 80 gallons of oil to start up and when a bird flies into it and destroys it they haul it to a land fill where it lays forever waiting to disintegrate!!
I agree and love to watch all of you having fun. 🛣🧸
Y’all definitely needed and deserved a vacation after spending so long building your house. Having those power poles and lines removed made a big difference in the way your place looks.
For a half a second I was so afraid that you might try to take down the electric poles yourself! OMG! I’m so happy you got the power company to come out and take the risks themselves.
So exciting to see you guys finally getting to go on a vacation. Beautiful scenery, the momma bear and 3 cubs was awesome.
PLEASE TAKE CARE AND BE SAFE
Would love to have a tour of the inside of your completed home.
I just showed my daughter your latest video and she asked to see the tour of your home. I told her there wasn’t one … yet. 💚
They like to keep things private.
BS Detector: Yes, that’s why they have detailed their lives and the building of their home from the ground up on a RUclips channel with over a million subscribers. They want privacy
We are glad that you took some time to take a vacation after working on your home and property for the past four years. Now the yard looks much better with the power poles and wires removed. Thanks for taking us along on your vacation and sharing the bears with us.
No, we love watching you guys enjoying such natural beauty. Do it more often. We loved watching it.
Watching you guys for 4.5 years you needed a break...it was a very different video, and I loved it.
You’re giving your children the most amazing life experience. Y’all are blessed beyond words. ❤️
New Patreon membership level - weekend in the barn and cargo trailer. The uncontained experience.
The "Cam chillin"" shot was one for his teenage years. Just gorgeous!
I have twin 2 year olds. We love our van. It makes life so much easier.
That was so kind of you to take us with you on your vacation!!
And, I'm sure there will be plenty of takers who want to have the uncontaminated life experience. Bc you have brought us into your life, you already feel like family!
Ok. Here's the plan. The barn is replaced with a shop/garage. In between the shop and house will be a storm/root cellar. In between projects will include additional water storage for catchment of the rain roofs on shop and above cellar. Garden placement will need to be determined by best sun or diffused sun location. Near future will call for separate bldg to house new and improved battery storage for power. Don't forget the raised fort/playhouse with downstairs accommodations for the pups. Well, that's just a beginning. When do you get started?
Great plans!
Good plans. As for the barn, now that the house is done, and they have more tools and experience, perhaps convert the barn to a guest (or club) house. We need somewhere to stay besides the trailer when we visit. LOL
Speaking of "pups," wonder what they did with the dogs. Since they really don't have nearby neighbors (at least that they have talked about) I suspect they left the dogs at a dog kennel. (?)
@@chuckm260 I thought they were living near their grandfather. I think the cattle we see sometimes belong to him.
@@ILGuy2012 - I do remember them mentioning his grandfather years ago but I don't recall if he is still living or not. Good point about the cattle, though they could have inherited them. At any rate, yea, the dogs could very well be with the grandfather.
It is so beautiful that I could move to such a place. You both can see that you are tired but happy and great. Greetings as usual from Poland from Warsaw. Maciej
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
A really fun and relaxing video today. So glad you all was able to break away and have a well deserved break. Spencer is handier than a pocket in a shirt, building skills and mechanical skills.
Wow how open everything is now. What a good decision. Beautiful guys.
You absolutely deserved a beautiful holiday 🙏
We bought a new Toyota Sienna minivan with 2 kids, and we love it! Tons of room, and lots of safety features.
This was the BEST video Ever. Starting with the power removal, I was a lineman for 30 years and know what they went through very well. I feel for the poor guy in the bucket because being attacked there doesn't give you much space to evade. And then going to the mountains, they sooth my soul and make life clearer. The bears....I love bears and seeing a mom and three cubs is really a pleasure. Thank you for this one. I do love all of your vids but this one does stand out. And yes it was well deserved. Be safe take care and hug the ones you love.
Oh my gosh I busted up laughing at those bears 🐻 you were freaking out. Girl I would have freaked out as well. Your trip was absolutely beautiful. The scenery was gorgeous and the water falls 😍 Thank you for taking us along. I'm glad you got rid of the old electric poles I was worried they would blow over in a storm. I truly love your home.
wow.... 4 1/2 yrs... Im glad we found your channel... it has been amazing to watch your family and your home grow... thank you from our family to yours...
Some times reflection is a good thing. It gives you a chance to see how far you've came and a chance to plan ahead. You both are incredible people and no one can say ya'll are lazy. Be proud of what and how much you've accomplished with your home and little family. Place looks incredible and beautiful, plus beautiful children.
I like your comment By the way how are you Christy
Where did y’all go..what mountain range!?
This trip was needed especially after 4 years of hardwork. It was to see you guys relax a bit and enjoying.
I'm so glad you two finally took a break. You've both worked to hard for so long, you deserve it. Enjoy your wonderful holiday, and arrive home safe & sound. Love from Australia 💞
I just love you guys! Glad you were able to get away to the mountains!
We are so proud of you, building your beautiful home out of the city, raising your kids in a great environment and having time for you, it is “PRICELESS”.
I need to go on a vacation. And yes. Having a toolkit for your vehicle is a must. Even a cheap Pittsburgh set would work.
I'm glad you received my telepathic suggestion to take a well deserved vacation to celebrate completing the house after more than 4 years, 2 kids, 2 dogs and hundreds of videos. Enjoy yourselves and don't feed the bears or they will just keep returning.
Don’t tear down the barn! It’s beautiful and has so many memories💚
It's great to see you both take some family time and take off to be somewhere you love, with those you love!
You must be proud of your achievements over the last four years or so. It's great to see you both relax for a while! 🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡
I love how you have complete trust in your husband and his abilities and stay cool when hiccups happen👌🏾❤
You’re such an amazing couple you must be so proud of yourself for what you have accomplished building your home. What a wonderful place to bring up your children in x
Loved the drone footage. So cool. Thanks for bringing the viewing public a long on your trip. Seeing the bears was really exciting. A tool kit for the car is essential. My dad gave me one when I got my first car decades ago and I still carry one to this day along with things I have added through the years, like a battery operated tire inflator, extra oil, brake fluid, window washer fluid, anti-freeze, rags, a funnel, duct tape, spool of wire, clamps, some nuts and bolts, tire repair kit and small gas can. Taking down the power poles sure cleaned up the property nicely. Can't wait to see what you two do next. Stay safe, have fun and keep enjoying life. Love your show.
Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge TN , those two will always be my favorite place. I always feel such a peace inside when I’m there, it’s a few hours from me and I make sure no matter what I have to do, I go at least once a year for a few days.
I'm glad y'all had a much-needed vacation. It looked so pretty. I love the mountains. Yes it is always good to get back home no matter where you go. The children get cuter every video. I'm so glad them ugly poles are gone. I enjoyed this video see you in the next one
I remember you saying somebody accused you of having an electric power supply a while back, they can't do that now. It looks better now with the poles gone. Good for you all to have a well needed break, after over four years working on your house.
Best wishes for a safe and healthy life, stay away from bears. ❤
☝️☝️📩Thanks for watching msg me on telegram I got some business ideas to share 📊 ကောင်းတယ်
I am so glad you took the time to get away and relax. Much needed time off.
I live a few hours from that waterfall, I took my daughter a few years ago... it was beyond beautiful 💖
A hint - If you set your mower on its highest setting [we mow our yard at 5”), your grass will stay green later into the summer. We have similar summer weather, here in southern Illinois and our yard never browns out. Something to consider.
Snakes love that taller grass
Setting it to low cuts into the vines or roots therefore killing the grass.
Since they’re in TX, they likely have warm season Bermuda grass that needs to be cut short. It’s not the same kind of cool seasons grass as IL.
5 inches is high. I cut mine with number 3. It stay green into winter here in NY
Beautiful trip 😊
Thank you for taking us along on your wee holiday. The dogs would have loved swimming at that waterfall! You should totally convert the barn as your next project. Would make a great playroom/party room space for when the kids get bigger and want to socialise with their friends
Great job on filming and editing this one. It was so easy to watch and follow your much deserved adventure. Thanks for bringing us along. Not easy with two little ones in tow. God bless you all, from Oregon.
I have watched from the beginning and both of you are such awesome parents and work together so beautifully! I was so happy to watch the great breathtaking vacation you have worked so hard for! Can't wait to see what's next. Love you all
I have been watching your channel for years. Seeing the changes has made my slow going homestead dreams stay alive. I am so glad that you got a vacation!! Your Littles are the cutest! 🐻 🐻❄ 🧸
Building ideas: outdoor bbq area with fire pit, swing set/slide/playhouse for kids, tornado shelter, guesthouse/office/gym, greenhouse to grow your own food.
Good idea I Mention this all to them a month ago.
Also an orchard.
I bet you both needed that!. It's been great fun watching, however, that was a long time doing it, i hope you both felt relieved with the change of perspective. And some clear mountain air.
Have a great vacation and return home safe and refreshed. Looking forward to next adventure. Love the kids. They are adorable. Bob
Oh boy, I did laugh when you arrived at your second destination, to find the mother bear and her cubs casually strolling up its driveway 🤣
It was classic to hear your son say, “bear” 🤣👏🏻
So pleased that as a family you got some time away to rest, relax and have time together.
As a couple, you are amazing together and your achievement on building your own home is fantastic. Best wishes from Scotland.
Ps: we don’t have bears here but we do have bees 🤭🤣😜
The two of you really deserved such a lovely trip. The mother bear with her cubs I think was an amazing thing to behold! I'm glad you took us along on your getaway!
I got the same reply from Spencer & Mckenzie. Is it for Real or some kind of scammer?
Great episode. Thanks for sharing part of your mountain vacation. I agree, there is something magical about hiking in the quiet of the mountains.
Thanks for taking us along. So happy for you guys!
Yes, you did leave a cliffhanger. Curious as to what's next. Loved the travelogue!
If ever,oh ever, any two people deserved a vacation; it’s you guys! ❤️
So good to see you all getting a well deserved rest. Those two little cuties are so precious. God bless you guys. The scenery is so calming.
You guys definitely needed this vacation for a long time now and I’m so happy for you that you’re able to do this
Honestly, you have the most beautiful children! You are so blessed, and I am so happy for you. Your life is filled with fulfillment, joy and love. May you always be blessed. Thank you for sharing your time with us. Take care, stay safe.
Your children are adorable. Seeing Spencer carrying his son on his shoulders brought back memories of my doing that with my boy, who now does that with his boy.
I hope that you enjoyed your holiday as a family as much as we appreciated you taking us along on your vacation. What a beautiful change of scenery and probably temperature too! You earned it!
So glad the poles are gone! And thanks for taking us along on this journey. Beautiful, beautiful!
I love following you guys. I enjoy every min of it. Glad you all took a well deserved and overdue vacation, and I appreciate the fact that you took us along. Bless you
I've watched each and every video from the very beginning you guys done a beautiful job. Now you'll have a beautiful home for you and your children. Best wishes. Glad to see that I saw gone of the pole.
This time off was well deserved to rest, regroup and bond as a family. The Mama bear & cubs was such a treat. Happy y'all got this holiday in those peaceful mountains.
Man, I'm so glad this channel doesn't use clickbait titles like so many other channels do.
I'm so happy you go to take the children and go on a trip and let them see some sights away from home.....You've earned this trip after all the work you've done to build you home.....Love ya

Where are you going to put the shop after you get rid of the barn? Also remember. As soon as you have the new shop up and in use, It will immediately feel small. So keep that in mind when you go to build. It’s there for everything.
Having watched you since day one it's so nice to see you take a well deserved break and even more to take us along. After all the shooting, editing and posting all your videos you must have been tempted to leave the cameras at home, so thank you for sharing. For me having lived in the mountains of BC, Cotacachi, Ecuador, Boquete, Panama and Ajijic, Mexico, I agree with Kenzie that there is something truly magical and spiritual about living in the mountains. Something flatlanders never experience. As I live out what may be few years left as a flatlander again I really wish I was back in the mountains somewhere, anywhere. We all love your videos, but take lots and lots of breaks now that your home is finished.
So happy that you all could take your first family vacation since you began this homestead project! Going to a beautiful and much cooler location had to have felt like a breath of fresh air. Thank you for taking us along.😊
Amazing videography, I have to say, as much as I love your hard work, and sharing your journey creating your home. This is a gem in the series! Glad to see you taking time out, and enjoying the country, family, and each other. Much love!
I loved this episode of your life’s as you grow together as a family. Your children are beautiful and you have shown your community that this is more than about building a home.
Glad you got to see Fall Creek Falls and the Smokies! It is such a beautiful place!
I played in the creek with a pair of cubs when I was camping with my dad. Most amazing experience. Dad told me to wash up before dinner. Lol. He got a little excited when he came to get me. Momma just laid there lazily watching us splash around. The cubs ran off after momma when she made a noise as she got up and walked off.
We just had a microburst knock down 20-odd power poles along a back road where we are. Must have been terrifying for the houses right next to them. Fortunately, the poles fell the other way from the houses... but unfortunately, that way was across the road, blocking it with energized wires. ⚡😳
Those wasps appeared to me to be the size of hummingbirds! I know everything is bigger in Texas, but come on!! lol Loved the travel log and the bears were pretty friggen awesome. Can't wait to see what all you have planned next. Thanks for all the wonderful content. Definitely a hard earned vacay. Take care.
i don't think their in Texas
@@lunatic3783 According to them they are in Texas lol
@@lunatic3783 have you even watched the first episodes or numerous other episodes where Texas is mentioned often? Lol
I’m happy that you took time for your family-it refreshes the soul! Have fun and make a bear book with the children!
Through most of the video I was very happy to see Spencer getting a break, not being the one sweating profusely and being attacked by nature... aaaaand then the car breaks down and he's at it again. I know editing is a bunch of work, as is parenting, but it's good for you guys to get to chill. If just for a long weekend. Also the drone photography was dope. The river was my favorite. Going up the waterfall would have been cool, but possibly dangerous and costly.
One of my favorite videos in the series to date. Thank you for taking us along on your vacation. I especially love the closing scene with your home nestled among the trees.
Glad you finally had time to yourselves as a family, it was a well deserved break.
Yard looks much tidier. Fun to see you travelling !
Thanks for taking us with you.
So glad you guys got to get away from the daily chores and had a change of scenery. It is so needed once in a while. The bears were pretty close though. We continue to love your channel and would not miss an episode. Sending you all much love ❤️
Enjoyed going along on your muc needed vaca! Guys, you need new vehicles a truck and a van/ suv. Loved watching the electrical poles come down!!!! This was a great stream/video!!!
We are still waiting on the house tour!
I’m so excited to see your next big project, maybe a storm shelter or powerhouse?
Shame they still don't make VW Bus. Would be perfect for them.
Just a Awesome video and a Beautiful ❤️❤️ Family thank you for sharing this with me with us.
Yay on getting those poles out. Wow, beautiful green trees and that waterfall was gorgeous. Nice to get away. Love the vlog :)
