I always thought the ideal way to get a first gen viper perfect, is to get one, and then get the second gen's doors and retrofit them to the car, as they've got locks and windows built into them, this almost looks like a semi Viper GTS kit for it really, plus side is you could leave the windows on with taking off the top I guess
Yeah, it's got quirks and flaws and shortcomings, but as a 13 year old boy with a newly found lust for super cars, when that thing came out I immediately replaced my poster of the black Countach on my wall with a poster of this car. And I still think it's one of the coolest cars made in the last few decades.
I've been in a Viper twice in my life. Once on the street, once on a track. Same owner, same car. On the street he did a 180 and we were facing traffic the wrong way. On the track, he braked late and put the front in the gravel after understeering into a turn. I drove it once and it's a really different car to drive compared to anything else I have driven. I prefer smaller, lighter cars that are more nimble. It is unique though, I have to give it that.

People are over exaggerating this car, you can tell when someone hasn’t actually driven one and makes things up, what’s worse is when people believe it! You can drive a Viper in rain and it handles like any other rear wheel drive car, you can accelerate as spirited as you want on nice weather days and it’s the ultimate experience, matter of fact the car is the most fun to drive at 2600 rpm or higher. It’s when people get cocky and feel like they want to keep pushing it, most people aren’t experienced race car drivers even if they think they are good enough to be, even race car drivers crash. It’s all in the respect for the car, the Viper is very predictable and easy to control, I broke the tires loose more than a few times ringing in the power, the rear tires are so wide if you let off the accelerator they catch instantly. All I can say is some people just can’t handle a vehicle as well as others and some have bad judgment, a 90’s Viper is no harder to control than a 90’s GM F body.
Tyler. A vehicle I share your enthusiasm for. Well done. BUT. The 928 in the background is another you might want to consider. The Porsche from Risky Business dates me but an S4 would be an awesome addition to your “fleet”
You say Neon, Stratus, or Intrepid like they are the plague or something. I had a Neon and Stratus, and they were inexpensive, reliable basic transportation. Not fancy, but adequate.
It's the only way cars like the Viper or Prowler were able to exist in the first place, and if they weren't parts bin cars they would have had to have been way more expensive.
Gaijin Garry As cool as the prowler looks, it’s just too parts bin. They should’ve made a RWD platform and put a V8 or the neon SRT4 engine to make it drive like it looks
@@bandombeviews6035 The prowler is Rear Wheel Drive. The V6 was good enough for 5.9 0-60 times, which was fine for what it was in 1999. It's not a race car, just a cool retro hot roddy thing.
The single one thing not to love about this *BEAUTIFUL* example of masterclass vehicle engineering has got nothing to do with something being wrong with the car itself. And I tend to repeat myself over and over on this issue, since it is of major importance and sadly still not of large awareness in the car lovers community. What I am talking about is, most obvious, the choice of color for the paintjob. Red is far beyond no go here, and I know this was the common paintjob by Dodge back in those glory days. Sadly most manufacturers outside Italy tend to step right into the spit bucket, when choosing their major color for their sports coupé +'s. Red is for italian cars, blue is for french cars, brg is for british cars. And their is just *NO* space for any discussions here. There are so many othe colors to choose from. And, if you cannot decide on any color, just go with non-colors, being white or black. White is always the best choice on any design object, since it underlines form, function, flow, lines, etc. far better than anything else.
I agree with the early vipers good looks. I think the GTS in blue with white stripes is one of the best looking cars from the 90's. They look amazing in person.
What is with the terrible fit of the hood? There are huge gaps above the left headlight and it doesn't fit behind the left wheel. Are the gaps really that big?
Do you remember that tv show, Viper? It was awesome, and was clearly sponsored by Dodge, full of Stealths and a Caravan or two, but the star car was a Viper that could do just about anything
U r 100% correct about cooling system being weak point ! Their 1st yr in production, Dodge had entered it in a supercar endurance race. B4 getting car2 startline, th cooling system exploded! But I'd keep that 1 forever cause I luv them😍
Hello, I own a 1995 RT/10 Viper and had the same traction issues, I purchased a set of Toyo PROXES R888R, they will increase the grip 100%. The only thing for the rear you will need to go with 315 because they don't make a 335, but at least you won't spin out trying to drive it into your garage. All I can say is some people just can’t handle a vehicle as well as others and some have bad judgment, a 90’s Viper is no harder to control than a 90’s GM F body.
With no external door handles, how do you open the door from the outside with the plexiglass window?
This thing got 500 hp and a Borla exhaust system and goes 0-60 in what 4.3 seconds?
Like if you get the reference.
LiveWire95 you can read the brochure.
Great movie!!!!
Don't let that take away from the fact that Hector is gonna be running three Honda Civics... with Spoon engines!
Any decent aftermarket hard tops and side glass options out there for it?
next video title : i bought the cheapest bugatti veyron in the world ( comes from russia)
(Comes from Lego)
I so want him to get a buggatti LOL!!!!
Herbie Husker well the viper is a super car...
Yeah, but that's like saying a Ferrari having Fiat Tipo switchgear or an Aston with Ford buttons...oh, wait..
It looks at least 10x better with the hardtop. Nice Hoovie!
Please don't take this jewel to the track. Pretty please.
what jewel?
PUH PUH PUH PLEEEEEASE don't take your average condition DODGE VIPER to the track, dude!! PLEEEEASE don't break such an *exquisite* car!
@@danielmoukli4590 It is like a work of art. I would be happy to own just the body and keep it like a sculpture. Beautiful nude Viper sculpture.
Take it to the cube machine in the scrapyard
He'll probably take it and the engine will blow like Apollo 911.
Pulling the happy meal though the window was AAAAWESOME!
Are you going to put plexus (really strong adhesive) and have it permanent or have it modular?
I agree with the early vipers good looks. I think the GTS in blue with white stripes is one of the best looking cars from the 90's. They look amazing in person.
Had a 2005 Viper for over ten years...No trouble...awesome drive...Enjoy!
Something about this guy that makes me just say, WoW! Nothing more just WOW!
What is with the terrible fit of the hood? There are huge gaps above the left headlight and it doesn't fit behind the left wheel. Are the gaps really that big?
That new hardtop really helped! And it even makes you eat healthy! Good job :D
Even the Nitto's are good, which I have had, anything is better thank having 23 year old Pilots, that have lost the grip.
So did the roof ever get paint?
The 5th gen Camaro is an excellent example of a production model that was very very close to the concept's vision.
