When I saw that they threw the half-burned grandma into the holy river a felt blessed.
And the people downstream who get the floating corps stranded at the bank must also feel blessed.

Stacy satay, of the hundreds of comments I read over the years, and I read many beautiful ones, but yours tops them all. The phrase ‘Mother India, You are All That is’ Is the most beautiful and meaningful ever about India. Remember Edith Steins’s ‘A rose is a rose is a rose‘ ? Yours conveys the same effect. Thank you

After the new govt;s Namami Ganga project, there has been substantial improvement in cleaning, maintaining Ganga.. Also sewerage discharge in 180 towns along the Ganga is being diverted to STPs and only clean water will be discharged to Ganga. Even the religious practices are being advised to modify. But it takes time. The improvements done in just 3 years is wonderful. If same govt is there for another 5 years ,Ganga will be very clean as they have the determination to execute ..

Life is much more than the books and laws you have learnt. life is to experience and accept. No ONE ever want to live in condition that is not comfortable to them. there must be a reason for present INDIA. history is, hence accept INDIA and different view. In difference , the real addition happens :)

I have a film-excerpt in my account of Varanasi 2004, but I have not yet processed my footage of 2019. I assume that you did not pay for filming cremations from close by. There is a type of corruption there at the ghats in my opinion: if you pay then suddenly it’s not improper to film cremations. I would avoid posting certain pictures onto the internet.

The only culture which is still alive, even after rule of 600 years of muslims rule and 200 years of Christian rules still this country has 80% hindus (sanatan) whreas whole persia, iran, iraq, and 45 other countries were converted to islam and christanity within 15 to 25 years, unesco has told there were 45 ancient traditions which were converted to islam and christian but only the sanatan culture world oldest culture whichbis existing from the beggining of universe is still here, india was developed in every field. Every aspect, it was the world richest country until muslim invaded india by deceiving various indian kings, when whole world was living in cave we indians were living in the most devolped cities like mohan jodaro, dwarika which is 6000 years old, those cities were far developed from some of the current cities, cities were having sewage treatment plant, flood controling system, and various stuffs, and just leave this let me tell u about ramsetu a bridge b/w india and srilanka made by lord rama, almost 1million years ago, lord rama used to live in ayodhya one of the ancient city, and everyone knows, arthmetic, algebra, quadratics, trigonometry, number system, decimal system, 0,and 90% of math, 90%science,space, astrology, novels etc everything is all given by us indians more than 2000 years ago when the half of the world was living in cave, i m not just praising myself, this is my answer to thos illiterates like muslims and some foreigners who badmouth abt india, u should know ur place, we r the peace loving people, and beleive that world is a big family this is also written in our scriptures, but if u will act like a dumb then we also know how we can fuck u

Can't help but notice how the temples in these video's are spotless, who's responsible for keeping the streets clean, the people or the governments lack of will to employ street cleaners or the caste system that prevents bettering your life with no hope for the future thus living in poverty till you die as many video's seem to imply.

The word caste or caste system does not exist in Hindu Scriptures. It’s Varna or Jati and it’s not a tool of oppression. The word “caste”itself is derived from Portuguese who practice it in her conquered territories , go and read up before spewing such inane comments .

It's an upside-down world indeed when being more concerned for human beings than for animals is considered a small way of thinking.
It's even more disturbing to see how often people such as yourself seem to glorify abject poverty - as though going hungry, living with nothing and dying young/watching your children die from preventable illnesses is something anyone would willingly choose.
All of that while you yourself would never go there and live that way. It's just good enough for them, eh?

Yesica1993 when i went to india, i stayed in a humble hotel, which ended up being filled with gorgeous marble inside, and there was constantly 5-10 guys scrubbing and polishing everywhere. they even insisted on washing everything we bought in the pahara gange (delhi).
they definately know the importance of cleanliness for affluence.
the temples Each and All have a place that you are required to wash your hands before entering and you must take off your shoes.

My Grandfather, Captain&Civil Engineer D.E.Hodges-1911-2001, travelled the world over his lifetime. Varanasi was one of his most important experiences in life. He only took one photo while visiting because in early days of the 1960’s it was absolutely forbidden. Souls departing life and those in prayer along the Ganges river were thought to be captured within the images of cameras/polaroids, so anyone with a camera was strictly forbidden from taking pictures, hard to enforce this rule yet the point is understood. You’ve beautiful images here. Was there ever issue with this idea while you were there filming?
