In the past, we Nepalese didn’t have cameras so there are only a few pictures and videos from those times. Thankfully, tourists captured our history and we are truly grateful for that. Because of them, we can now see what our capital looked like back then. Thank you so much for sharing this. Jay Nepal 🇳🇵
we nepalese donot need to be such emotional. The mountains, places are our and only our they aren't going anywhere we will do anything to keep it beautiful forever.
I was 8 in 1978. I grew up in Kathmandu and this is exactly how it was back then. We didn't have video cameras, so I haven't come across videos that had captured the life at that time. Makes me nostalgic. Thanks for sharing...
It’s our government we don’t have he keeps getting assassinated by people which is sad that’s what makes our country not develop. Luckily we have a new mayor /municipal government in Kathmandu which is doing a good thing the local are saying there.
canadian travelled overland from london sept-dec 1977. went on trek to everest then spent a month in kathmandu valley. such a wonderful dream that i didnt want to disturb. returned in feb 2020. thanks for your filming.
Such precious clips from the golden days. Thank you for still holding on to these videos and sharing them with us all to see and reminisce the good old days of our beautiful Kathmandu. ❤❤❤
This is so nostalgic. It brings me tears of happiness. I grew up in KTM in 2000; still, it was very similar and beautiful. As I am living abroad, it brought many memories. It made my day. Thanks a lot. Namaste!
A very beautiful work! Nostalgic ! I was a 21 year old lad in 1978. A documentary reflecting all socio-cultural facts. Pictures depict as to how Kathmandu was organized then. Great work!
THANK YOU, MAN! I always used to wonder what it would be like if all the tourists who visited Nepal shared their photos and videos. It’s amazing to see your collection!
its almost 12 years older than me..thanks for keeping it safely and give us chance to see it. it was so beautiful and peaceful Kathmandu valley but nowadays you can't see anything except the concrete building and crowded vehicle. please come to Nepal once again!
thank you so much for such a delightful video, really Kathmandu was heaven back then those hills and mountains behind and greenery everywhere also people with traditional dress ... thank u so much for capturing this video back then.
Mr Der Kooy this is an amazing masterpiece compilation of visuals captured by yourself. You have captured every aspect and essence of the daily lives of people, culture, festivals of the valley then. The vast paddy fields, the picturesque landscapes, the unscathed spaces, the clean Bagmati river were just mere imaginary visions which we have got to view through your lens. Thank you from Nepal.
Really liked the video. Being Nepali, we love to watch our history. You should visit Nepal again and make another video of Nepal then and now with same scene ❤
Thank you for this wonderful video. Thank you very much! I can not express in words how grateful I am and I'm sure, like me, the whole of Nepal feels this way.
Dear sir, Being Nepali I'm very proud of legends like you, who loved, liked and made a time travel capsule(Videos of Nepal) for Nepal. Thank you for the contribution of things you've created and shared to Next generations of Nepal. I was born in 1984. But watching your videos of general public before the establishment of NTV (Nepal Television 1986s) or earlier videos focused on Royal family only is much more heart touching, wonderful and mesmerizing. Thank you again.❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for posting this video. I will save it in my favourite list. I was born this year and still I have the memories of going to school and around with family as a kid. Thank you for the video , the way u recorded and uploaded this video its a gift for all of us today generation, it is very sad and unfortunate to say that all this ancient places is encroached by corrupt politicians and people . they built hotels and bar inside the ancient valley Kathmandu, many of the temples and old ancient buildings are demolished to built modern home and highways, development is needed but not in this way which destroys our ancient heritages . our only hope is Balen Shah the present mayor of Kathmandu he is doing very well for this ancient valley, he is against corruption and he don't listen any others corrupt politician. hope is alive #BALEN SHAH . my Respect to all of those in the video and the owner of the video as well as the cameraman. if u are alive please visit Nepal again to recreate the memories.
