I just brought a new lwb Peugeot Expert. No adblue and Peugeot has a service interval of 15,000km which is more intelligent. Your reviews are simply the best there are
30,000 km service intervals is ridiculous. Oil can't possibly keep its lubricity for that long and the oil galleries will just get gummed up. Not great for bearings and turbochargers.
Compared to my 2015 Transit Custom, sounds like a lot of headaches to me. Im ready to trade but not liking DPF, adblue, automatic, will lose overhead radio/sunglasses holder, cup holders in centre... great review, put me off one though. Will have to look after my '15.
Drivers side sliding door should be standard, especially for Australia, less models to stock, if you don't need it, don't use it. Lets talks about the painted bumpers... why? Its cheaper to have them unpainted, hides scratches and repair costs are lower, and it looks less egg like in the white. The wheel covers are a mistake, just stick with silver steel wheels, this is a work vehicle! The passenger seat is not comfortable, give us the single full passenger seat option like Europe. The lack of keyless entry is a weird spec choice considering it has keyless start, you pull the key out unlock then put it back in your pocket?. The Sport does have keyless entry. Totally agree the square wheel is stupid. You didn't mention the lift back option. Great for tradies that don't put pallets in vans. That load through area under the front seats can be useful, but confused why it doesn't open further into the foot well like the Traffic. The parke brake button is so far from the gear lever it doesn't make sense.... what would make sense is it just doing it for you when shift in and out of park.... like a Tesla. The blinkers on the left is super annoying, Ford manages to change this for its other models in our market.
I think it's much noisier than the old one from 2020, it sounds violent when you slam the side doors. And then it is very annoying that you cannot permanently turn off "alarm at too high speed", and "keep an eye on the road" and "hold on to the steering wheel" they come all the time they alarm.
I’ve had a dual cab sport on order since February, due in November, swapping my Ranger over, just not sure about what it’ll be like to live with every day…..
@@therightcar I rep, all over Victoria, so I guess the long country drives are my biggest concern, sitting closer, but not over on the new model, the front wheels. The big pro is the 30,000kms between services, as I average 35,000kms per year. 15 is bad enough, but so many new cars still at 10.
There are a lot of “not ideal”, seems like the excuses seem to be “it’s a work van”. It’s not good enough. I have an LDV G10+ with now 140,000 trouble free kms on it. New was 36k. You could forgive the transit if it was cheaper but it’s not, it’s an expensive van.
People pay a furtune for work utes but they shouldn't pay a fortune for a work van? Depends on if its a fleet vehicle or something you buy for yourself.
So they've removed the useful barn door stays that prevent the doors blowing out into passing traffic or parked cars and given us useless electronic door latches that won't let you access the back when they inevitably fail. They've removed both vanity mirrors, the padded lining with coat hooks on bulkhead , replaced continental tyres for dunlops and decided to significantly increase the price. How on earth has the new model lost 100kg gained 2 extra forward gears yet the fuel consumption has gone up? And the idiot ford engineers that signed off on installing the gear selector where the wipers were on the old model should all be sacked ( do they not know what muscle memory is). I own a 2019 that's done 240k and given me no issues at all and was looking forward to the new model but this is a huge disappointment. Will be looking at other lwb alternatives.
You mean the barn door stays that intruded into the load area? On the large Transit they had a half way lock point. The gear selector on the stalk is great, if not really required. The annoying bit is that it does engage and disengage the electronic park brake. Positives are that the drivers seating position is tremendously better and lower, accelerator and brake pedals are now at the same height, no more stupid split front window.
@zoltrix7779 the barn door stays on my particular set up aren't an issue , that said the vito solution to barn door stays is far superior. As for moving the gear selector to where the wipers were ... I still believe it to be an idiotic solution. I have 3 other vehicles in which the right stalk is indicators so when I jump into the transit i tend to get them mixed up so sticking the gear selector there is potentially dangerous. They could have placed a rotary dial style selector on the dash. Don't get me wrong, it's still a decent enough vehicle but with a bit more common sense to the design and engineering and without cheaping out on many parts like the exposed wiring in the back , removing the vanity mirrors and lining on cargo barrier and going cheap on tyres... it could have been a great van.
Collecting my LWB 170 automatic in a couple days got all the extras! Cant wait
Good one mate!! Its a great van
@ i cant wait to test it out!
Nicely done Matt 😊
A fleet I’m involved with is about to buy a bunch of them, so let’s see how they go!
Great stuff. Would love to know how they fare!!

I'll take adblue over DPF any day.
Great review

It's a Ford they only build them to last out the warranty period .😊
I used to work with leased Fiat Doblos, Ducatos, and Iveco Dailys. The oil change intervals were 30, 40, and 50 k km respectively. Crazy.
Long oil km service
Equals engine issues
Reversing camera display fails
Spot on.
Your free to get a 15k oil change.
Any idea when we might see reviews on the Torneo come through? Thanks!

Thanks mate! Glad you found it thorough and helpful.

Vans are amazing work vehicle. I'm hoping to get out of Hilux/LC and into a van of sort.
Hurray, a worker and not a ute poser.

I have the older Custom van and aside from the AWD addition, the new one surely looks like a few steps backwards in almost every other aspect.
I’ve had a dual cab sport on order since February, due in November, swapping my Ranger over, just not sure about what it’ll be like to live with every day…..
I think you’ll love it. It’s a different kind of work rig, but probably a better one if you don’t need to use 4x4.

@@scottmumby2249 How is it a con? Meaning it should be less? Just get the oil changed in the middle if you want.

Wet Belt?
I wonder how many look at this van as a house.😅
It’s a doable investment 🥸
They have given us less for more money

New models from Ford=bad idea. They get you to do the bug testing

Peugeot Expert is so much better.
😂😂😂
No its not, and its a dying brand in Australia with little nation wide service.
Nice one😂
