The PHEV gearbox is eCVT, not single speed. The Duratec 2.5 litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine plus electric motor drivetrain is shared with the Kuga PHEV.
I have the PHEV and I’m absolutely delighted with it. I charge it on a night for 8p a unit so a full charge is about £1 for about 30 miles +- the engine is a 2.5l duratorc with a chain driven camshaft and no turbo. On hybrid only it generally averages 38-50mpg depending on the route, the hillier the better, not so great on flat motorways. If the battery is fully charged a 70mile round trip and it will average 70-80 mpg. It’s quiet, refined and a joy to drive.
No mention if you can have lane centring steering only a mention of lane keeping assist. Being an in depth report, I assume this new high tech van cannot provide lane centring. Deal breaker and that’s ignoring the wet belt issue also not mentioned
Really in depth review unbiased much appreciated I think you know more the most dealers well done
Really appreciate that
Cmon Ford! Bring it to Brazil! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

Is this PHEV reliable? What is an average fuel consumption on a highway 500km journey?
It's still a 1 speed automatic.

@@brucefowler6379Awesome! I was looking at the electric Custom but your write up has me looking at the PHEVs now. Seems like the best of both worlds
The E-Transit Custom has a rear-mounted motor and rear-wheel drive.
The PHEV doesn't have "EV charge" mode, BTW.
Absolutely nothing about reliability of wet belt reliability or any improvements?
It's exactly the same as the previous model and will be the same engine in the new Transporter
The quality of interior in poor sat in 1.last week previous interior feels way better

Wet Belt? If so £1000 at 100,000 miles or six years. Ignore? £9,000 new engine.
No.
