- While I love animals and love owning pets, there are certain animals that I have no interest in owning, or ones who I don’t think would be a great fit for me! Not every pet is great for everyone, and it’s important to get animals that are a good fit for you!

Jokes aside as someone who does own all of these animal they are allot of work and it is more than reasonable to not want any of these animals

I think you'd be surprised by how easy it is to care for axolotls ! Of all my tanks, i personally feel theyre the most low maintenance.
Also i find it funny because my dad had iguanas in the 90's 😂😂

You're 19??? Holy crap. I never would have guessed you were that young. I mean that in the best way - you look super young, but so do I and I'm nearly 30 lol - you're so mature/responsible/well-spoken/etc!
Hahaha I have an axolotl, and rats, of course I love both of them to death but honestly agree with you! Aquariums (especially big plant-y ones) are suckers to clean, and my rattie girls are out at minimum 4 hours a day and I still feel like that's not enough! By far the best pet I have ever had
ConclusionConfusion I totally agree with you! I 2 rats and I have them out for hours a day and it’s always so hard to put them in their cage! In fact, I have my two rats sleeping on me right now!

You are very allowed to the choices of animals you want and the ones you don't want to have, and it's fine. It's just normal to have different interests, tastes, etc. There should not be any judgment on that.

I just feel like I can't own mice, rats, or hamsters because they are just so short lived animals and I get to emotional for that. Chinchillas honestly scare me and I'm not totally sure why. They are cute but from a distance. But I not against anyone liking or owning these animals as long as they are properly taking cared of. Each to their own.

Horses are hard work, i love them but my husband isn't a fan lol he'll help me feed them but he wont ride or clean the stalls. The only cleaning he'd do it the water troph if the horses didnt poop it in lmao

I bet you are going to get this a lot but I had no idea you are 19! You are so knowledgeable! Such a great example. Also I love this video because you are explaining why you don’t want or can’t have any of these animals. Showing people the proper care and space etc is something to be researched and thought out before getting an animal ❤️❤️❤️

I have hermit crabs and yes it’s very sad how they bring them in but they are very cool and fun to watch

I’m a middle school kid and I already own 14 animals. My parents hate me for it but I love animals sooo.

Although I completely love rats and have 3 boys myself I completely understand where you’re coming from and I really appreciate how respectful you were about them (and app of the other pets on this list!) my boys love attention and do need quite a lot of playtime and time out of the cage which is fine for someone like me who only owns them (and a family dog) but for someone with many other pets I completely get how they could be a lot of work 💗🐀
That’s cool lol and I agree with most of the animals you wouldn’t wanna own because they are very high maintenance but I absolutely love Horses and feel a bond towards them! I wish I could own one..Everyone is different tho so to each is their own!

"I prefer smaller lizards" owns like 15 leopard geckos and created geckos :D I have 3 leopard gecko tho and I really enjoy them as a pets!!!

Guinea pigs are the sweetest animals I’ve met I personally have 6 and 3 rabbits they like to cuddle and are very food motivated they do make a bit of noise you will never forget to feed them cuz the squeak but when they all get food you just get to hear them eating and it’s a very welcome site in my house I get why you don’t want them but they are very sweet and cuddly and if you do get one you will probably love it and I do prefer my rabbit but I do love all of my little piggies
Guinea pigs are adorable . Just don't forget to feed or water during the day . They will let you know by squealing. They are a little more cuddly then a rabbit but they do run faster .

I am the same way when it comes to guinea pigs. I have 4 now because the mom was pregnant but I have never wanted to have a Guinea pig as a pet only have them because I rescued them from someone and wish I could find them homes. I own rabbits too and love my rabbits.
Yeah most aquatic turtles need like 100 gallons of space, guinea pigs need like 8 square feet of space, and green iquanas need like 4×2×4 minimum
Besides all the hay and grooming part, horses are actually pretty low maintenance.
so do your hamsters like socialization?? or do they prefer to just be left alone?
Let me tell ya,I have two piggies and guinea pigs and I have rabbit sit before and my guinea pigs are AMAZING really different personalities and foods they like and don’t and they are so sweet and I bonded with mine within the 2nd week of housing them and now they LOVE ME SO MUCH if I walk up to there cage they weeeekkk and when you go to feed them they do too and they are awesome I totally recommend them JUST DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST!!!
I own a small yellow belly turtle and they are cute but have to change their water alot or else it gets dirty from the left over food from the turtle . And turtles are in danger of getting sick alot so that is something considering before getting one , though my turtle is doing well and has adapted to its habitat

i’d only get a guinea pig if it was hairless one and i’d name it hippo, but I rather have cats lol. i totally get the horse thing and crabs kinda creep me out oop. also, getting my ball python on saturday and i’m beyond exited 💞

Mini pigs aren't necessarily real animals. They are regular pigs that were starved by "breeders" so they could stay small
We have city chickens 😂 we also have a huge yard for where we live

Haha I said that I would never own a cat and guess what I ended up getting a call from a friend of mine saying that she found a stray kitten. I took it in and it drives me crazy!!!! Now that I have one I realized exactly how much I don’t wanna ever own another cat 😂😂😂

It's unfortunate that rats won't fit into your schedule in the foreseeable future. They're my favorite creatures to own. I haven't had any since the passing of my last pair just due to having a baby and too much post partum depression to care for anything other than my cat and leopard gecko. I had around 30 animals before having a kid. Almost two years later and I'm finally ready to introduce a new pair. I'm getting two male hairless probably. Definitely hairless but if I find a female pair I like better, I'll get them. Their names will be Dobby and Creature.

My fiance very much dislikes horses with no particular reason either, he went horseback riding once as a kid and it went just fine, they're just very disconcerting to him, something about the teeth maybe? But I always find it funny that people don't get your general dislike of horses without *all the reasons* since my fiance is the exact same way with them!
I have three guinea pigs and 13 rabbits I love them
I definently understand where you’re coming from. I have six guinea pigs (didn’t want six, one ended up being a boy so i had to get him a partner) i love them but the amount of mess they make/noise, phew! they’re a big commitment and should only be owned if you’re ready for it. they go through food and fleece like crazy!
A turtle is a great pet to have they are so nice an Friendly I have one but ever time you hold one you have to wash your hands because it can have a bad disease but if you wash your hand they are so sweet and so kind but you should always do your research for yourself
Rats only need about 30 minutes a day of play time if they have a buddy

Guinea pigs are awesome 🐹🐹🐹 But they require alot of attention and a large cage, my 4 girl piggies live in a 3×7 c&c cage😊😊😊

You need a house to own farm animals. I live in a house and we have chickens, they are the best type of bird you can have honestly.
They're definitely not the easiest. Budgies are better than chickens (and almost every other bird species). Chickens suck. By far my least favorite type of bird, even under Canadian geese.
Willow Darnell Chickens are the best pet birds that aren’t parrots or pigeons/doves. If raised lovingly as chicks they will love their owners. I have a neighbor whose chickens will jump into her lap as soon as she sits down outside, begging for cuddles. Plus they give you eggs! I’ve never understood the thrill of budgies, in my opinion although they are cute and pretty they are the most boring parrots you could possibly have. They do not bond with their owners in the same way as other parrots. Plus they are constantly chittering and chattering; I’d rather have a parrot who sometimes makes ear-piercing screams than one (well, a pair, since you should have two budgies) who is always making background noise. I know three people who have budgies and they complain to me that their birds don’t like head scratches or being pet. Maybe that’s just their experience but seriously? However the worst commonly-kept pet birds are finches and canaries. They barely bond with you at all and it’s always risky to take them out of their cage. I think it’s sad to see them kept as pets. If you’re going to get a bird, make sure you get one who gets a lot of out-of-cage playtime.
@@theonlyfaith77 Chickens are nice if you have the backyard space and land space for them. Smaller birds are easier because they are always kept in cages.
@@catsplat1272 Right? My chickens follow me everywhere when I am outside in their area. They follow me like dogs haha and one of them is extra extra friendly coming right up to me. Chickens are smart and super curios and they all have a different personality. I had parakeets and never really had a close connection with them like I do with my chickens. Plus parakeets and especially canaries are SO loud especially if you have more than one.
For me I would never own birds. Don't get me wrong, I think birds are adorable. Its just something about caging an animal born to fly free that bugs me.
I would rather just look at the song birds outside or feed the ducks by the lake, then keep a bird in a cage. The only exception is if the bird has an injury preventing it to fly, then I think its okay.

@Emma Lynne Sampson I tell your friend like Emilee Rose that there's a lot of animals that you don't want to keep them as pets including monkeys, apes, big cats, any crocodilians and more because they're uncontrollable and even wilder than other ones in the pet stores. I'm just letting you know.
