    The Ambassador is no joke. It might be an older ship but it is still very capable.

    That wasn't difficult at all for the ambassador. I thought it would have come out a lot closer. The computer seemed to do a decent job that time. An uparmored and rearmed Ambassador would be a beast.
    I always put klingon capital ships like this,
    D7 was answer to 2240-2260 Constitution
    K'Tinga was answer to 2260-2270 Constitution Vor'cha was the answer for 2320's Excelsior
    Ko'vort bird of prey was for the Ambassador (Ambassador would probably struggle cause of its speed)
    Nek'var was meant to beat the Galaxy

    Would love to see a Dominion War Ambassador. My view: 1) Replacing the Type IX arrays on the saucer both dorsal and ventral with single Type X long arrays like the Galaxy. 2) Type X array on the ventral engineering hull, two small Type Xs on the after to cover the rear. 3) Replace the older launchers with newer launchers that can throw a spread of 8 forward and backward. 4) Newer adaptive shielding and light armor on key areas like the launchers. 5) New impulse engines for better maneuverability. A net increase in 33% firepower but probably 40% in survivability. Takes it to better than the stock Nebula with Mark I tactical pod. Slightly less firepower, but better durability.

      The Ambassador was a tough design....I would be surprised if the Ambassador Class Refit didn't already include Type X Phasers. Bajor started producing Ambassador class Star ship's

    Nice battle. I've always loved the Ambassador class and thought we should have seen more of them. They would have been great in the Dominion war as support to the Galaxy. You should find the Ambassador with the ventral phaser on the engineering hull, it greatly improves ventral coverage. Also, if you can find it, there is a model out there that has 4 additional aft phaser strips with similar placement to the Galaxy class's ventral/dorsal placements around the aft torpedo tube. That really does wonders for the aft blindspot on the Ambassador class. ❤

      Thank you! It would have been great to see more of the Ambassador class for sure. I have model with a ventral array but it uses the Enterprise C markings. Once I learn how to alter the registry and name I will use that model instead of this one

      Ambassador is a great generalist Heavy Cruiser. One would think that during the War they would have removed the Type IX small arrays on the saucer dorsal and ventral, and replace them with a Type X array on each side along with ventral secondary. Put in a new Nebula Class warp core and new launchers, newer shields and it is a pretty powerful ship, verging on a battlecruiser.

    Always felt the Ambassedor would be a reasonable match for the Vor'cha. The Galaxy feels like it's superior shields would mean it would be able to beat a Vor'cha even more easily.

    If you want to destroy enemy ships effectively, target these sensor array. 😉

    • @Sam1056
      @Sam1056 29 дней назад

      Sensors are the best choice but I think it's also the least *exciting* choice as the AI isn't smart enough to blind fire to hopefully find your ship. I'm betting Adam doesn't want us to watch a very one-sided match, that's very Klingon after all lol.

    🤔 not a bad idea, the ambassador is 70% the power of the galaxy class (equal to the phasers on the titan-A for example). The ambassador has stronger torpedoes than the vorcha, almost double the power, but the vorcha is 40% stronger than the galaxy in terms of its energy weapons, has over 2x the hull strength, it has the exact same shield strength, maneuverability is the same. Honestly I love the ambassador class but it loses.

    0:25 Question though: the spread is marked Single but they're coming out in the starburst of 7. Is there benefit to this pattern over just a standard blast of one photon X7? I mean in terms of gameplay/damage inflicted?
    EDIT: Ok, I'm blind, I missed where you had switched back to Single immediately after. What's the 7 pattern called? And do these generate more effect?

    • @stratfordbaby
      @stratfordbaby 29 дней назад +1

      I could see a scenario where you're waiting for the entire 7 torpedoes to load and cannot fire the burst when maybe 1-2 would be enough to damage a subsystem or something and achieve the necessary effect. Not in this case but hypothetically.

    • @adamlee2111
      @adamlee2111  29 дней назад +1

      The spread patterns have more accuracy at range because torpedoes only track for a set number of seconds. With spread patterns the torpedoes are launched in a pattern and then begin tracking a few seconds later, making them better than single fire at long range but a worse option at close range. They also converge and hit the target at the same time so if you're lucky enough to get a hit that bypasses the shields, all 7 go through and inflict heavy damage

    • @crownprincesebastianjohano7069
      @crownprincesebastianjohano7069 28 дней назад

      Spread vs. single, spread concentrates the hitting power. Due to ships movement and firing rate, single fire tends to distribute the damage across more than one shield face or system. However, the tradeoff is that the spread can miss more frequently.

    I know you wouldn't have much of a game, but the battles in the shows seem to be shorter. The weapons seem to do a lot more damage. For instance if the Ambassador got several phaser hits and a fully volley of photons on a Vorcha, the Vorcha wouldn't come back from that in the show. It may survive but it would be really hurt. And certainly wouldn't be able to keep fighting to it's full capacity. They have clearly lengthened the battles for the game. But it might be more realistic if they were only about half as long.

    • @keyboardt8276
      @keyboardt8276 28 дней назад

      I think battles in the show vary a lot depending on what the showrunners want to portray. Sometimes ships last significantly longer than in this game.

    • @adamlee2111
      @adamlee2111  20 дней назад

      To be honest I don't take the shows seriously anymore because they're so inconsistent. One week the Enterprise is powerful, the next its made of tissue paper. One week its shields are down after 3 hits, next week it can tank hits all day.
      These ships are large capital craft, it should take some time to destroy them. I've grown to hate the Ds9 battle footage for this reason: a 500 metre long capital ship melting away in 3 hits just looks ridiculous in my opinion. Its one of the reasons I loved the Battlestar Galactica remake, Galactica is made out of proper hull plating rather than baking foil

      @@adamlee2111 Should depend on the weapons though. Just like in our time, different weapons have different effects.
