Love Leon Russell & I have a new respect & love for Elton John. I saw a different side of him. Thank you both for producing this album. God bless you both. 🕊️🙂↕️❤️🙏
Say what you will about Elton...but his heart, his compassion, his love of fellow legends, his drive to reach those untouchable heights and above all...his non narcissist way of approaching life and those in it. Elton? Thank you soooo much for doing what you did for this man.
I loved Leon since the 70's seeing him in concert at Hollywood Sportatorium in Florida to smaller venues several years before he passed. Thank you Leon for all your great music. A big thank you to Elton for collaborating on your album with Leon. Deep respect for both of you ❤
So emotional...Leon always had a spiritual connection and deeply emotional music...thank you Leon and your great support Elto your humanity shows. Im in tears also...have always loved Leon. Last I saw him was Portland around 2006, perhaps...at the Roseland Theater. His son opened for him and his daughter played percussion. Was great to meet them. I said to his daughter I wished Leon had come out so I could ask him how he learned piano...she said, oh I can tell you that...my grandmother taught and inspired him...such a gift to know that little tidbit from her...
Cannot stop watching -- that dear Elton treated Leon like a king just gets my heart and in such a big way! Brings as I said tears yes all these years later -- Bless them all for giving Leon the time of his life after a really long hiatus -- just the perfect combination of great musicians and a TON OF LOVE!!!! Ya get to see Leon come back to life and to me that just soooooooo warms my heart. T-Bone - Jim Keltner (drums) -- Bernie et all -- the singers -- ALL of it - the horn musicians -- a warm work of love for sure! Amazing. As a kid at all of 12 Leon was my hero for sure -- got to see Elton at the Troubador back then at the tender age of 14 (sp sorry) and knew he was something super special for sure --- fast forward well -- with "The Union" his talent (Elton's yes) -- but yes BUT more so it is his huge heart shines shines. Kind and good man. Leon got better and he simply shined!!!! How can ya not love that????I cannot find the movie though -- looking. Peace - Carolyne
My dad loves Leon Russell just like Elton John does. It's a significant contribution to the monumental Leadership he is recognised industry wide as crafting a thing clunky like a government policy into a sensitive response to a social construct - a social worker who has made compassionate effective reforms to an area of disadvantaged marginalised people - the way a piano can just be played on an instrument vs performing with the extension of yourself reverberating something deeper into a whole psyche within. Something about providing a meaningful contribution to society.. it can be art or it can be Commerce it can be cooking and it can be charity - all our engagement with anyone or anything can be as important as anyone's. Leon Russell being so unaffected by fuss was profound while being simultaneously uncompleted. I'm just so grateful to have been blessed with a father who has been so cool like these iconic great men. Men who's strength seems otherwise ethereal and somewhat to many a mystery , an ideal blurred by Mustique contained through their sensitiveness & ability of seperation, security in the solution theu make about things as important as security or song rendition. Understanding about how great men ( people ) make choices is what captivates the inspiration of the world while we are still trying to understand our unexplored realms. That's why we need people to trust in & inspire us to succeed. Until the world has achieved peace , identify esteemed qualities of outstanding men will continue to influence compassionate aspirations. Lead by Good example. The recent Elton John concert I attended was not just brilliant, the highlights was my dad's genuine delight in sharing his assessment of his first Elton John concert from Syd racecourse about 45 years ago and us both beaming about how influenced find their ways to track back through both tangible and unquantifiable aberrations of exquisitely beautiful in infusing creative influence endlessly.
Absolutely Marvelous. God Bless Elton for seeking out Leon 💛🙏💛 A Once in a Lifetime Talent💛🙏💛 An Incredible Album❣️❣️❣️ Thank You Elton🙏💛🤗 Thank You God For Leon and Elton💛💛💛
It was a great album and very good for both of them but it wasn't as if Leon had been out of the music business for years. In fact, during the 12 years prior to recording The Union, Leon had released TWELVE albums. During that same time period from 1998 to 2010, Elton had released three albums. The only big difference was that in recording with Elton, Leon would get much greater distribution, exposure and attention from the media.
He put together a concert tour in 8 days. It was the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour in 48 cities. The movie rocks. I can actually listen to the version of Honky-tonk Woman that he plays lead electric guitar.
Wow. The love in that room could change the world.
I’ve got tears streaming down my face.
Thank you for this treasure
REMARKABLE ! Atta buoy Reggie! What a blessed thing you did for your brother man, cheer's.

The greatest gift a person can give is friendship and not wanting anything back in return. That's what Elton did for Leon. Thank you, Elton.
Elton is so selfless. What he did for, and with Leon Russell is the most wonderful thing Elton has given back in music and for an individual.
Thank you Elton, thank you very much.🙏

That being said ,the majority of them were self produced "merch " albums that were sold at live appearances.
@@martins.7060 Right. Distribution.
a humble man.
Leon Russell could also play keyboards, sing, play electric bass guitar, rhythm guitar (lead guitar), and baritone horn.

Люблю этих ребят. Леон и Элтон Великие музыканты. Спасибо Элтону за любовь и человеческую поддержку Леона
