Doubtful that the misalignment had anything to do with firing the gun. I have had this issue from the factory with multiple guns including my HK. Unless the front sight is loose it was most likely just mounted badly from the time of purchase. Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Regarding the tool... It would be nice if the threads on the adjuster block were finer. Get more leverage and precise control that way. Otherwise... good concept!
This thing is worthless. I bought one and it won't even hold my pistol. I can't crank the thing tight enough to keep my pistol from slipping and sliding everywhere when trying to push the sight. I can't believe you even gave this thing the time of day. Your sights must be promiscuous because they would have to be loose for that thing to do anything besides mar your handgun.
It did not perform as well as I had hoped...it got me by for the time being, but I have a really nice sight puller now...and actually I run a red dot anyway...so the front sight is barely needed.
Make sure you are going the same way and the screws are set up on the same side in the video. If not your only fighting the machine. Also a drop or two of oil on where he uses the ratchet helps a lot. Video helped me a lot. Thank you 👍
@@Andrew-bb1iq I fiddled with the thing for about an hour. I thought the same thing. So I went back through the video and did like you said. Made sure the machine was set up exactly the same. No luck. I cringe as I type this, but honestly I ended up just buying soft jaws for my vice to clamp the slide, and using a brass drift and a hammer to move the front post.
