I think Monty would’ve been better if he had been a drummer. Not just because I don’t think it makes sense that there isn’t one in the Glamrock band, but because it would work with his anger issues.

the problem with the indie developer plot is:
its a excuse to bad writting on the series, if the story doesn't make sense, so "its all exagerration from a lunatic"

But whoever did the story writing couldn't help themselves and Malhare and Burntrap happened, implying that William Afton is or was still a character in play. It feels like no one bothered deciding what happened or how much of the older games they really wanted to keep.

My hot take is that this is the coldest Hot Take video you've done yet. So many of these takes are pretty common, especially on Freddit like: "the lore is too complicated, I hate the fandom, the books ruined the franchise, I hate the Mimic, the franchise is too kid-friendly now" etc. Not saying you're not allowed to have these opinions about FNAF but I see so many of these takes recycled bi-weekly on popular forums and online spaces that I've become numb to them. It's currently 102 degrees outside and this video feels like a chilled drink in comparison, though your comment about the potential Fall Fest game was absolutely the hottest one. My fnaf hot take, is that we need more quiet emotional moments. Unless I’m forgetting some, we really haven’t got any of these since Sister location. Sure, Security Breach has its sad moments, like Freddy being torn apart by the Staff bots, or even in Ruin, when Cassie “shuts off” Roxy, but none of these have really stuck, because it feels kinda forced. Like someone in the audience is holding a “cry now!” Sign or whatever. None of these, no matter how sad, have really stuck with me, because they just don’t hit as hard as some of the older games did. One of my favorite examples, is the bad ending in FNaF 3. Seeing the animatronics masks on the floor, realizing they were still alive, still suffering in there, and the cherry on top? The music, oh god the music! It tops of this scene as a truly sad moment, one where no words need to be spoken. Another example is in FNaF 4, where you hear the crying child’s heartbeat monitor flatline. Just hearing it, and right after seeing Micheal(?) stuff his brothers head into Fredbear, it just hurts. Hearing this poor child’s life end, all because his older brother is a jerk. Again, no words need to be said. And last, a moment that’s a bit different, is in Sister location. It’s the time when Circus Baby tells you how she killed Elizabeth. Just sitting under the desk, hearing a robot tell you how she murdered a little girl, all while she plays it cool. Granted, Baby does sound genuinely sad or remorseful, but you have to wonder, how much of that is her act? How much does she truly care?

Maybe not an entirely hot take, but probably an extreme one:
The lack of confirmed information and defined definition between the “canonicity” of sources will kill this franchise if not eventually addressed .
Imagine you’re building a card tower, and the bottom level of cards is confirmed information. Currently we are several layers up, with only a handful of cards on the bottom. If not addressed this franchise will collapse in on itself without some cards added to the bottom for stability. We *need* more information that is solidly confirmed or it will toppled down into a pile of speculation, logical leaps, and disagreements. Additionally, the current state allows retcons easily which will simply knock down out tower with no way to notice the differences as we have nothing firm.
If we want this franchise to last, we need to have some things decidedly solved so we can move onto the next mystery. Like, just give us a definitive answer and explanation of the first 6 games+UCN so we can continue forward.
Bonus Hot take: so much of post SB Fnaf feels like disney star wars, namely in the story beat retreads. Especially with the mimc. A lot of Disney Star Wars is retreading ideas and plots from Legends, and a lot of the post SB/HW fnaf feels similar to me.

@@theprinceofawesomeness I'd argue that they do need to say that X is how it actually is for a bunch of things. Like take the rogue indie developer thing, with that we need a solid framework for what it takes out of play from the first four (five?) games. It would be nice to have a better breakdown of the various versions of the setting, with TSE trilogy, Fazbear Frights, Tales From the Pizzaplex, the movies, and the games themselves each having seemingly wildly different versions of events in places, but all seeming to inform each other.
It becomes frustrating when everything we get seems like it could lead to at least a couple different options and there's a million threads just sort of floating out there waiting to be either worked in or snipped off

    • @saeklin
      @saeklin 3 месяца назад +6

The whole game franchise should be rebooted in such a way that both the serial killer of the first 3 games and William Afton the mad scientist can coexist without needing to be the same person. What I mean is that the Bite, the MCI, and the killer being springtrapped should all happen before William and Michael show up. And as far as Charlie is concerned, I'd probably just have her death be a tragic accident, like she was hit by a car outside. That was my theory for the longest time and would explain a lot that has to otherwise be explained with contrivance.

The word "prototype" being retconned onto Freddy's foot in Ruin was a serious breaking point for me with this franchise. It's a tiny, insignificant detail that could've (and really should've) been left alone. But no. That one detail sent all the theorists into panic mode, trying to figure out who this "new" Freddy is, what happened to our Freddy, and whether or not our Freddy really is our Freddy at all.
I think we all just concluded that our Freddy is with Gregory now, and the "prototype" Freddy is either the original Freddy's remaining body or a replacement that somehow got damaged the same exact ways as the original. Either way, what was the point? That one tiny, insignificant detail that could've (and I can't stress this enough, REALLY SHOULD HAVE) been left alone, made everyone collectively run around in circles only to arrive at the exact same place that we started. Why? Can we not just have a straightforward answer for once in this franchise?

    • @notrealnamenotatall2476
      @notrealnamenotatall2476  3 месяца назад +7

It's baffling that even though the Saving Ending is pretty much confirmed and that Freddy lost his head in that ending, that one word has spawned a completely second Freddy who also lost his head and was damaged in the same way despite the fact Vanessa said there wasn't a second Freddy casing. XD And now since it has a wikia page, it's pretty much concreted in even if that wasn't the intention. And we'll probably never get clarification from Steel Wool, lol.

    • @buster3041
      @buster3041 Месяц назад

The answer is easy. Everybody wants to be the next big star in the fandom for uncovering a hidden lore detail that may or may not have been a thing.
1983 was obviously just showing us a cartoon from years prior airing as a rerun yet people acted dumb and thought there was another bite. Now Scott and whomever else he works with ran with the idea and now say there's been 2 bites.
History is repeating itself. It was clear as day the prototype tattoo was just a retconned design element we're supposed to now view being on freddy's foot in security breach. But now once again Scott and his coworkers are using the fans greed for knowledge and fame and pretending there's 2 freddy's.
I can't wait to see what this fandbase tries to make a big deal next. Gregory and cassy might be made foster sibs and the fans will think they're actually blood related lol

I like monty for two simple reasons. First off, he's simple to understand. No sorrow for him, no big twist (we suspected him from the start for bonnie's murder), and no complexity. Just kill.
Second is Giga Monty, because he PROVES that Steel wool can make the animatronics actually threatening in SB, but by accident. Plus spawning an armada of simple minded killing machines is amazing to me.

  • @seven1641

The Monty take really doesn't sit with me right. Monty had a lot of interesting potential but he was continuously shafted by Steel Wool for no reason. People liked him because he was a new animal, the only Alligator or any type of lizard in FNAF! He's cool and seemed to have a laid back and relaxed personality. People are allowed to like him based off his design, and it's not their fault that Steel Wool literally refused to write him properly, or even at all. In Ruin his whole existence there is just about how he replaced Bonnie and what happened with Bonnie. He doesn't even SPEAK there either. And then he just randomly dies later in game. How is that fair? I used to be a Monty fan but I gave up because the only reason he exists is to be villainized. And he most likely won't ever be seen again. In a few years we're gonna look back on Monty as the most blatantly ignored character in the entire series.

Hot take: the only reason people say fnaf 6 should’ve been the true end or fnaf 6 wrapped everything up nicely is only because of Henry’s sap speech at the end. It doesn’t tie up every loose end and it doesn’t answer most of what the community wanted to know. Who are the shadow animatronics, who are the extra set of dead kids in fnaf 2 and the who really were the missing kids as people. There is so much missed potential with all these and other mysteries that could be explored but since there’s a big speech that gave me the tingles it’s the perfect ending to fnafs story. The lore now may be messy but at least it hasn’t abruptly ended and there is a chance some questions in the older games could be answered.

If the fnaf 2 animatronics were possessed, I feel like they (the names of those kids) would've been revealed a long time ago. I think the missing children incident took place at FNAF 2 and not a different place and FNAF 2 had another incident. It makes sense because the other mystery the first game had, the bite of 87, also took place there. Having it actually begin at a grand circus just feels shoehorned in out of nowhere, it makes the bite of 83 feel less important because I bet the fall fest is gonna have some tragedy and thats what makes Afton start killing rather than the bite

This is a hot take I have had for awhile. I don't believe Monty killed Bonnie, I don't think anyone killed Bonnie. I know that sounds weird but let me explain. Bonnie's mystery feels like steelwool or who evers at the top just threw stuff together in security breach and had no clue who actually killed Bonnie. Bonnie's mystery felt like a red heiring to distract from security breach issues. My main reason for believing this is because most of the evidence comes from ruin/Bonnie's corpse. It feels like the only good evidence people had for Monty killing Bonnie because of his anger issues and he's jelly of Freddy. But if Monty was jealous of Freddy why would he kill Bonnie? Couldn't be just kill Freddy if he wanted to be a star? Both of Monty is innocent and Monty is guilty have massive plot holes that people ignore for closer. I also want to get it out of the way, we know nothing about Bonnie's personality so all we could know he could have been an asshole and who ever dealt him in was just defending themselves but that's the issue WE DON'T KNOW! And don't use Freddy as an excuse to show Bonnie was a sweet heart. Freddy clearly cared about his friends even Roxy, one of the most awful characters in security breach. Im talking about actions not character personality. We don't know who killed Bonnie because not even FNAF knows who kills Bonnie. I also do want to hear about the message bag, that message was poorly written and only tells us that Bonnie existed. Bonnie is a non existent character and Monty is an under developed character. Also ruin just saw the theories around Monty and went "we dont have to make a killer because the fans made a killer" and then just add to the theory thinking they were smart. I'm not trying to hate on anyone but God Bonnie does not matter at all. Sorry if it should like I hate everyone that believes Monty killed Bonnie or the people at steelwool. I think an interesting twist would be that it was all self-inflicted. Maybe he spends all that time in the catwalks thinking about the last things Bonnie said to him like joining the band before finding him in Bonnie Bowl. Maybe Fazbear Entertainment either didn’t know or didn’t want the truth to be revealed so they framed Monty for it and came up with a somewhat fabricated origin story that left out the big part. I still think there’s little enough evidence to make that a possibility.

One of the main actual problems in the fandom is the amount of confidence some people have and the resulting vitriol when others don’t agree with their “obvious” interpretation. I personally cannot imagine a single theory that anyone could possibly suggest that would invoke any amount of anger or even annoyance. At worst I’d get a giggle out of a wacky one. And yet people get soooo mad when someone disagrees with their take on MimicTrap or TalesGames etc as if the other person must be trolling. Like I understand getting attached to theories or even thinking they are the most likely explanation, but outside of like four or five things in the games, we don’t actually know almost anything! The fact that people can speak with so much confidence on almost any debated aspect of this franchise is insane to me. Things like whether or not the books being “directly connected to the games” means they are in the same canon or the fact that Burntrap was (probably) not the canon ending means he didn’t exist or even the “two” lights in golden freddy’s eyes in the FNaF 3, even if you have pretty good ideas of what the answers are for all of those cases, how can you not admit and accept that they are (at LEAST) pretty confusing. Those are really the main times that the fandom is toxic, making something out to be obvious as though most things in this franchise aren’t open to a lot of interpretation, and then getting really defensive about it.

    • @Lisa_Flowers
      @Lisa_Flowers 3 месяца назад +4

I think this game franchise has been going on for such a long time now that it's just kind of assumed that more popular theories or interpretations are THE correct ones. And that's just unfortunately the natural consequence of it also being a franchise where people need ground to stand on but SO little is confirmed that they make it (out of theories). It can be a bit depressing to think that almost everything is up in the air and almost nothing is properly nailed down, it makes it hard to really theorise especially now that this story is into it's like 10th game and the lore from the first THREE games still isn't properly confirmed. It's like trying to build a house without a solid foundation. There _is_ no solid foundation so people feel like they have to make one by 'canonising' or treating as Canon things that really aren't Canon, just widely accepted. And when someone questions that or has a different interpretation of stuff they treat as foundational to lot of their theorising, everything comes tumbling down. Doesn't justify toxicity as it is JUST a game lol but it is partially a direct result of how the lore in this franchise exists.

Not saying that they *couldn't use it to retcon significant points, and some could argue that they might have already, but I'm in agreement with RyeToast on this matter: basically that they're trying to say "Hey, these games were made years ago and we all know the story's a mess, we're going to try to fix it, if we say something in these newer games that contradicts the old ones (or at least the widely accepted fan interpretation) then trust the newer info."

And at this point, even if they have proof, Faz Ent has enough money to hire a lawyer good enough to try and make said proof look fake. Even if we accept that the 1-6 is still canon and was just recreated by the rogue indie developer, we still have a huge problem. Were things exactly the same, or just the main plot points?
If everything really was exactly the same, how did the indie developer know so many intricate details about the appearance of characters and locations? Not to mention that FNAF 4 can't have happened in a dream or a hallucination of a known character, *and* have the indie developer know about it.
If the indie developer didn't know intricate details, then that means that so much information in those games is wrong and questionable, from blueprints, exact words spoken, character appearances, layouts of the different locations, dates things happened. That invalidates basically every existing theory.
Not to mention, what about the games with multiple endings? If the rogue indie developer was making the games based on real events, it means that one ending actually happened and the others were just ones he made up. This means that commonly used pieces of evidence like the lights in the masks' eyes in FNAF 3, the box, and the SL safe room have no relation to the canon.
So long as the indie developer exists, it's impossible for everything we've seen in 1-6 to also be canon.

The "Rouge indie dev" was just flavor text used in the intro to explain why people in universe still back Freddy's, RID is and was never supposed to be an earth shattering conclusion that breaks the lore in half. RID's involvement in the story starts with the company [who is known to, and has evrey motive to lie.] showing him in a disclaimer, and ends with a character saying that RID was some rando hired by Faz Entertainment to make games to profit off of and distract people from the events of the story already happening.
Which events happened? ALL OF THEM. The story didn't reset itself, people just took a cheap cover up from a garbage company to heart and never decided to investigate further. Both in story and out

YES! Thank you! I so appreciate your words. I still can't believe there are people out there who are still clueless about it. Help Wanted made it clear that the past events *did* in fact, happen. Tape Girl even plainly states that the whole thing was an elaborate coverup to discredit the past rumors. Sure, there's the issue of how the Indie Developer came across this information, but the games' events themselves still happened as depicted.
How everyone keeps missing that is beyond me.

As a Monty fan, I really sympathize with him and relate to him, He's my favorite FNAF character and I really hope he gets treated better and more screentime in the future, I really do hope he does have a sympathetic side to him, The game had us thinking Roxy was a narcissistic diva who only cares for herself and that's it, But then Ruin came along and it showed us who Roxy truly was under the mask, A kind and caring sweetheart, Seeing Roxy get a redemption arc like that made me happy, But it also made me feel bad for the other two, I really hope Monty didn't die, I think that Monty did kill Bonnie, But not the reason that people think, I think Monty was hacked into killing Bonnie, The Storyteller books state that Monty was harmless before he got hacked, And when he got hacked he became much more aggressive and destructive which could've made him kill Bonnie, If he was never hacked, He would've never done it in the first place, I also believe it could be the other way around, Bonnie could've been the first Glamrock to be hacked and Monty killed him out of self defense protecting a lost child who became one of the missing children, And the reason he hates Freddy could be that Freddy was hacked too at the time, Yeah the books also state that Freddy was hacked before too, I think that Freddy killed the child that Monty tried to save, Which could explain his huge hatred toward him, I really think there's more to Monty than meets the eye, I know these theories might sound a little far fetched, But it's just what I think, Don't hate me, I think it would be boring if his story was just he was petty and wanted to be in the band, I really think Monty deserves a redemption arc, Same with Chica, I really hope he returns in the HW2 DLC and hopefully we get a prequel showing what really happened between the two of them.

I should probably mention that the "my precious" thing was just an overexaggeration/joke about how some people seem to romanticize the Mimic. I was mostly venting a lot of frustration with the character and seeing a lot of other people who have similar thoughts on them since posting that has been super relieving, regardless of how significantly colder my take is now as a result. XD And yeah, totally fair and completely understand why you didn't want to like the Mimic. Still looking forward to your Mimic video!
There were a lot of takes I really enjoyed in this, my favorite was the one about Tales from the Pizzaplex because I think they're onto something with that. Thinking about the Bobbiedots story, it WAS split into multiple parts and even then the pacing and certain events that happened feel... let's say mishandled as a catch all word for it. Stuff like that really does make you wonder if it was intended to be a much larger story before it had to be split apart.

I don't mind the sci-fi elements of Sister Location, I personally never have. In fact, I think it's kinda funny how people cherrypick the SL bots as being unrealistic, ignoring the fact that the animatronics- ever since the first game- could walk. In the 90s. With how hard bipedal locomotion is for a robot even NOW, that's slightly ridiculous in itself, right?
I know it could be that they're only able to from the haunted element, but even that is kind of a speculative guess that causes problems of its own

Hot take: the hot take about new fnaf being too kids friendly is so silly.
It usually comes from people who were kids/teens when they got into fnaf 1 when it came out, I wonder how they got into it if it wasn't for kids. And the main argument is always "there is no blood in new fnaf", when in the old fnaf blood was just some pixels in a few minigames and one game over screen with an eyeball. But it's always being said with a face like there were Warhammer levels of blood.
In reality modern fnaf has just as many dark themes and ideas like the old one, but with more accent on characters that are involved in it. Blood is not mandatory to tell a dark story.
And Vanny's knife wasn't deleted. She had it only on the art, but there is no mention of it in the cutcontent as far as i'm aware.
The only argument that is left here is that SB poster might have more appeal to kids, which i guess is kinda fair.

okay, one thing i rarely see people bring up but i think should be said, is that while it's cool that Scott always made new models for every game (for the most part, this isnt including the recolours) because it showed he actually put some effort into the games, it ultimately is and was a detriment at several points since it creates timeline issues and just other inconsistencies.
like for example Golden Freddy. it's implied that the Golden Freddy suit from FNAF2 was the one that the fifth kid was stuffed into, and i would argue it's pretty much confirmed because of the death minigames, but then in the first game, which chronologically takes place *AFTER* FNAF2, the Golden Freddy suit shows up again, but this time it's a clean and pristine version of the suit, which means they would have had to made a new Golden Freddy/Fredbear suit, decide they wouldnt use it, and leave it to just sit around, and it keeps being haunted. while that admittedly IS low hanging fruit because it's from the first two games and the story clearly wasnt thought through all the way yet at that point, i still think it shows how it does lead to inconsistencies because of the new models.
my second example for this is how Springtrap went from... well, Springtrap, to Scraptrap. i could absolutely see that the suit would get more damaged and lose an arm, and things like that, but not how he would also somehow had gotten new feet for his fursuit, a whole new head, and also change up the whole body shape. did he find another broken down Spring Bonnie? i wouldnt think so since (at least i think) it's implied that there was only one Spring Bonnie, so did he make new parts himself? i feel like it would be very hard to make a whole new suit that is just as, if not more, broken down than the original, while wearing the original suit and also being dead. why even bother making a new suit if it's supposed to be *MORE* broken? i think it would have worked much better if Scott had kept the original Springtrap model and then just changed it up and withered it even more. it would have saved a lot of how the character is viewed and also would not have made people just mock the design and not take William Afton seriously. it's like Scott didnt even reference his old Springtrap model at all and just remade it from memory, resulting in the peanut headed monster we got in Pizza Sim. it also would have saved the other scrap designs in the game i feel, like Molten Freddy could have been more accurate to the original Funtime Freddy, and Scrap Baby could have looked much better if the original model was reused in part, maybe have Baby reuse part of the head and part of the torso, but having to replace some parts with scrap metal. it would have been much more obvious that they were the same characters, just from a later date.
like i appreciate the effort that was put into making the characters feel fresh and new, but it loses a lot of that appreciation when the characters are barely recougnisable as the original character but at a later date. i feel like the only time it actually worked that they got new models was with FNAF2, since i could realistically see how the withered animatronics were just recycled and had entirely new "casings" made, so that the characters werent all broken down, but pretty much no other character that got a whole new model works in that same way. im not even going to count FNAF4 in there since that was supposed to be a nightmare-ified version of the animatronics, they werent going to look accurate to the original animatronics anyways. sorry for this comment being an essay, its in my nature to write too much when i care about something and i have thoughts about it, and things like this for some reason needs a lot of words to be expressed properly.

  • @vgpilgrimage

Hot take: Scott should never again directly confirm any FNAF lore. I can't think of a single instance in which Scott, or his subsidiaries, directly confirming a single lore detail actually made things any clearer. In fact, it often makes things more difficult by creating misconceptions through logical extension.
For example, the Nightmarionne was said to specifically be non-canon by Scott himself. While this might have some implications about the Crying Child's relationship to the puppet, it has a larger overall chilling effect concerning the Halloween update characters as a whole.
I think Dreadbear being an obvious parallel to Fredbear actually has significance. Everything about the Dreadbear DLC feels like an analog to things in the story. The house on the hill and the red lake. Dreadbear's emergence from the lake and his entrance to the nearby cabin. The It's me easter egg in the cabin. The cabin's proximity to the house and it hosting a birthday party setup makes it an obvious parallel for Fredbear's Family Diner. Dreadbear probably serves as a key to unlocking the lore of one of the least understood characters in the franchise, Golden Freddy.
Dreadbear and his ilk, however, are woefully under-analyzed primarily because the Nightmarionne's confirmed non-canonicity is often blanketed over all the Halloween update characters.
In conclusion... Scott should make the nightmarionne a real entity and never confirm or deconfirm lore again. (I miss the puppet-type noodly characters).

Hot Take: I actually like the switch in Baby’s personality from Sister Location to Pizzeria Simulator….with proper thematic context! I like the idea that when Baby got the chip taken out of her, that represented the Baby AI, the good part, the part of Baby that hated Afton and knew what he did. In Pizzeria Simulator, all that is left is Elizabeth’s soul inside Baby, who is still Afton’s baby girl, and maybe even feels like she has to serve Afton because he was right all along, and if she had listened to him, she wouldn’t have died. (No evidence for that, just my own head cannon). I think it’s a great shift creating kind of split personality character where one is awake, and knows Afton is evil and the other is totally misguided and not aware. Even before they split, I always like the dichotomy of the Baby AI being so smart and cunning but Elizabeth taking over at time and making Baby use words kids would use, like “dummy”. It makes you wonder how many actions were solely either Baby or Elizabeth.

I hate Cassie's relationship with Roxy, it's both forceful and pointless to the point it's frustrating why the hell would Steel Wool put this in a horror game about a killer animatronic? I know Jason Topolski said in an interview with FuhNaff that they wanted Cassie to be a foil for Gregory by helping the animatronics, but what was the Idea of making Roxy (an abusive and murderous character who can cause harm even when Glitchtrap isn't controlling her) a good guy????? WHY? I mean all Chica got was her voice box and didn't do anything to help Cassie. Was this supposed to be irony that Roxy hates Gregory and likes Cassie or something?

I think the reason why people want Fall Fest 1970 (or at least why I would like it), is because it gives them a chance to concretely establish the early timeline. We're still living on a mound of assumptions and potential book parallels. To be shown this is a chance to finally clarify and put to rest a good section of the lore, as opposed to charging full steam into the future and just convoluting it further. With that said, if they choose to introduce a lot of unrelated nonsense with no connection or clarification, then that would also suck.

I had quite a few Hot Takes to submit here, but most of them are topics that have already been discussed is past Hot Take videos (such as "Evil Gregory being REALLY DUMB", "Roxy is Overrated", and the "Novel Canonicity Controversary.")
Instead, I will discuss a topic that no one seems to be bringing up: Steel Wool Studios, themselves.
While I am a big fan of Security Breach and Help Wanted, and fully support what they do...they REALLY need to do better in handling their games.
Not only does the PS4 version of Help Wanted have a game crashing glitch that makes completing the "Blacklight" version of Foxy Repair impossible (not sure if the PS5 Re-release has this, I haven't reached that point yet.)
But Security Breach, while now playable, still has some odd glitches that can end hours of progress if you are not careful (I speak of the infamous "7AM Bug", where charging stations are disabled.)
I hear a Fan Mod is coming out called "The Remains", which will restore all of the cut content of Security Breach. Which makes me wonder why Steel Wool doesn't just release an official Director's Cut of Security Breach as they originally intended, with ALL of the cut content completed and restored.
I am certain fans would clamor for that (I certainly would pay full price for it!)
Forgive me if this is a hot enough take, but it is something that irks me.

Every single FNAF theorist, ESPECIALLY RyeToast, is obsessing over the idea of the next game being Fall Fest without taking into account that what Steel Wool does with the story next by going back might genuinely ruin stuff even more. We already have The Mimic and the botched order of the MCI kids. Who knows what they'll do to the story in the past? They'll probably make it so The Mimic is actually the most important character in the history of FNAF and demand that you be invested in it like so many of its insane fans. Admittedly, that's a worst-case scenario, but anything could happen with this franchise, even the stuff that reasonably shouldn't. I swear, if they actually put Mimic on that pedestal, I will become Jeff the Killer.

Personally, I love Monty because of headcannons (One of which being part of all the animatronics issues are a response to Bonnie's death: Chica stress eating/being overly happy (she has crying voicelines only done when she thinks shes alone), Roxy scared of being replaced like he was, Freddy pretends he didn't exist and maybe is over chipper, and Monty is stuck in the anger phase of grief (he skips shows, why would he break Bonnie to get into the main band just to avoid the shows?)) and that- I can't take Monty seriously. He's a MINI-GOLFING GATOR! "You can hide, but you can't hide!"? His autistic t-rex arms walk cycle? If Chica can cry, if Roxy can care, if Freddy can get serious, then Monty can be more then just His anger. And I choose to believe behind the hack he is a silly goofball more in line with his half-lidded and chill cardboard cutouts
I typed this because, idk I wanted to explain my reasoning for liking him. I completely understand the people that don't like him, we do only see anger in game and again, most of what I love is headcannon and sillyness :P

I seriously love the interpretation that a lot of Monty’s “bad behavior” is due to Bonnie’s death. One of the most interesting paths I think they could’ve gone down is that Monty DID kill Bonnie, but it was because Bonnie was the first one “infected” by the mimic/glitchtrap and he either ordered Monty to kill him or Monty killed him thinking it would be able to save the rest of them. His behavior really lines up so well with grief, I can’t see a guy who would kill another in cold blood to join a band just… skipping out on performances. Especially since one of the static ball racks in the room Bonnie was found in during Ruin had a bowling ball of Monty on it, implying that the ball had been there since Bonnie was brought into the room and that Monty was literally already in the band when Bonnie was destroyed. IDK, I feel like a lot of Monty haters don’t understand that a big appeal for Monty IS that he’s underutilized. It’s so fun to think about different possibilities with him.

I think I have an interesting take on why the mimic creates so much volatile disgust in people, such as you and myself. (This is a random place to put this idea but this is your most recent video so I imagine I have the best chance of reaching you here.)
My hypothesis is that the mimic essentially represents everything wrong with FNAF's storyline from the beginning. We have so many events that feel like they're "looping", identical events occur which "mimic" ones that we've already seen. We have characters, plot points and designs which all call back to the past but are just different enough that they're something... not quite new but, distinct? It makes things feel more and more tired over time.
Anyway, the mimic is basically that made manifest in a literal way in universe. A being which can literally mimic anyone in whatever way is convenient for the plot, and can patch up plot inconsistencies which come to exist exclusively due to an intentional obtuseness by the developers. The thing is just a walking plot device, but worse, it is THE definitive walking plot device.
The plot has been mimicking itself ad nauseum for years, and this feels like jumping the shark of sharks in that trend. It makes manifest this mimicking trend in universe in a literal way.

To me the mimic symbolizes a return to FNAF 4's looseness of plot, even moreso than Vanny. Anything can be retconned or cut at any moment so there's no point trying to theorize.
It's been 10 years and we don't even have a name for major plot relevant characters. Every time we've gotten close to understanding stuff Scott starts making major rewrites to drag things out. The FNAF lore is just going to be a wild goose chase until the series fizzles out.

Personally, I am HYPED, i want to go back and see the circus and everything, but your points also make me a little scared. I wish the Steel Wool era wasn’t a direct continuation, but more of an AU/rewrite of the series. It would just make more sense and have the fnaf6 ending actually mean something. And a rewrite would be fun! It would allow the franchise to fully delve into the sci-fi it is now but wasn’t originally. It’d… really just fix a lot, actually. And I can live in peace with the two storylines. (This accidentally became my own hot take, haha)

I know this is late, but I feel like I had a eureka moment that I had to share:
I feel like sister location woulda benefitted more from the story format of security breach. It would allow us to actually establish more story and lore while developing the Afton families relationship.
Crying child, Michael, and Elizabeth's relationship to William could've been explored more and we could get more time to allow Baby to establish her deceptive personality.
And you can do a lot more visual storytelling of the evils that William was doing. Like what if Michael found the FNAF 4 room and saw the nightmare animatronics. What if we got more lore on the ghosts inside the Mediocre Melodies?
Like theres a lot of ways that a bigger game woul've improved sister location.

If I’m not too late here’s a hot take that was sorta already talked about.
The idea that Fnaf has become too kid friendly isn’t fully true to me (there’s things like the designs and creepy settings that do bring back old Fnaf feeling), but it is lacking slightly compared to other games like it.
For comparison, Bendy has things like sacrifices and torture on creatures with Wilson and his experiments, characters being stabbed and killed in gruesome ways (looking at you Ink Demon, with your appetite for people), and some decently easy, yet creepy mutilation (projectionist beheaded, Audrey ripped from her legs, etc.)
Even other games have had moments like this like Poppy, who had Mommy Long Legs crushed in a grinder, Dogday ripped in half and used like Michael and Ennard in SL, and whatever is going on with the Prototype. All of these are good ways to make a darker game, yet Fnaf hasn’t had that in a while (only things I can think of being the kill Vanny ending, the idea that we’re stuffed in Mask bot in HW2, and the animatronics being destroyed in SB slightly)
If Fnaf wants to become truly scary again, I think it needs to implement things seen in the books, despite my best judgment as the books can be convoluted. I recently saw a thing for one of the Mimic stories where they discover it in the warehouse and rebuild it, then it attacks, and I generally haven’t been disturbed by something in this franchise for a while, with the depictions of organs being ripped apart and bone turning into dust with the blink of an eye.
If Fnaf can bring something like this into the games, I think it could truly be scary again. Or just put it in the movie, that works too. Sorry for the long rant, this is just something I wanted to get all the info out for.

A little late to the party, but here's my two cents: Circus Baby's character was NOT assassinated in Pizzeria Simulator.
I think a big reason why people assume this comes from a misunderstanding as to what being "put back together" means. In my interpretation of the franchise, it means having your spirit take full control over your animatronic body, of which there are several ways. The first of which is when you die with enough agony/loneliness/I haven't gotten that far in the books yet, which allows you to immediately become "aware" like Charlie and Cassidy were over the Puppet and Fredbear. The second is having your scattered memories reconstructed by an outside party like what happened to the crying child with Happiest Day (I think he speaks as himself through Nightmare Fredbear in UCN for the record), and the third has to do with the animatronic's AI.
The reason why the withereds are fooled by the mask in FNAF 2 isn't because the spirits of the kids think you're just a suit, it's because the AI of the animatronic is overriding the animalistic instinct of the soul. Unless you are "aware", you are restricted to what your programming lets you do.
Baby in Sister Location follows this rule as well. She wants nothing more than to escape the compound and is totally fine with killing who she thought was William because those are the desires of the robot. It's only when Mike physically removes the AI chip from inside of her in Night 5 that Elizabeth slowly starts to take over. By Pizza Sim, Baby's will is completely absent, and now what's left is Elizabeth who doesn't want to harm her father. She's literally not Baby anymore, that part of the robot is gone. If she kept up the act and tried to kill William after Mike put her back together, _that_ would be out of character, because SL Baby is the animatronic, and Pizza Sim Baby is Elizabeth. So I guess in a way Baby _was_ assasinated, but in a much more literal sense as her original AI no longer exists. Sorry for the long ramble, I just think it's worth defending what is often a heavily criticized character shift that I'm personally in support of. You make really great content, keep it up!

My hot take is that the people who said they have Mimic fatigue are being hypocrites since people said the same exact thing about Afton. How Afton is constantly re-used over and over again, and the explanations for why he keeps coming back is becoming absurd to the point where Glitchtrap being Afton also just breaks its own lore entirely. If we ignore the entire books and pretend they don't exist, Afton is supposed to be in Hell. That was what UCN was about. Afton trapped in his own personal Hell being tortured for eternity. But no, he comes back as a virus and wants to recreate his old corpse and boss some woman around to do his bidding. Why? Afton keeps coming back and his deaths become more and more pathetic to be point where he's becoming a big joke. He's no longer a threat, just someone who comes back, dies, comes back, dies, comes back, dies.

I think the biggest difference between Afton and the Mimic is that Afton was there from the start and ppl are used to his presence. The Mimic is relatively new and not as many ppl are cool with a new random character with no actual weight to the plot taking centre stage and snubbing all possible expansion ideas.

Oh boy here we go...here are my FNaF hot takes!
1.) To be honest, I personally like Gregory more than Cassie. Now before you (or I guess any Cassie super fans) get on my case, allow me to elaborate. While I can give Cassie credit for having personality and have her own quirks to her character, there's a line where I can't. To me, she feels like Steel Wool's belated response to criticism of Gregory having little to no personality, but in doing so, (at least for me) took away what she manages to accomplish in Ruin. Sure, she explores a ruined (baah dum deesh) PizzaPlex, possibly permanently deactivated Monty, and...I guess finding out the Mimic...existed? But other then that? She only accomplishes in falling for Mimic's Tomfoolery and getting herself trapped. But with Gregory? In my opinion at least...while he doesn't have much of a personality (I still blame the fans for the mass rushing of Steel Wool for rushing Security Breach's development, but thats just me), he makes up for what he manages to accomplish during Security Breach. I mean cmon, a 14 year old kid managed to survive six hours inside of a huge Pizza mall, with three killer robots meant to entertain kids all 10 times bigger then him, yet he managed to break them down and upgrade the only robot that wasn't out to whack him and even explored some hell hole with deranged robot staff bots and a serial killer in a skin tight fur suit. Seriously, that not a protagonist, that's a friggin' legend! But that may just be me liking results rather then the general character arc of said character.
2.) To be honest, I personally don't like that they made William and the Aftons British. I'm not against characters just being British, but I don't understand as to WHY they've made William British. It just never made sense to me.
3.) And finally and possibly my longest hot take, The Mimic SUCKS! I'm personally not a fan of copycat killers, well, not copycat killers as a concept, but when copycats are done so blatantly copied and pasted, it's not really an actual character, but just a previous character with a new coat of paint. For me, Mimic just feels like Afton only if Afton lost all part of whatever left was human about him, and is just ROBOT. Back onto the copycat topic, you CAN make a copycat killer WORK! Take for instance the Scream movies, with every character who becomes Ghostface being different then the last. (I won't spoil any of the movies for you if you hadn't watched any of them). Vanny could've been perfect for this, since Vanny could've been some true crime freak obessed with William's crimes and wanted to make her own twisted legacy or even just his legacy, but make her own. Like maybe instead targeting kids she goes after Security Guards or hunting for surviving 80s kids who were related to the original victims. But unfortunately no, we just got that hot pile of trash: Mimic.
I apologize for the long comment, I just wanted to express my hot takes. Hope this gets on the next Hot Take video, take care!

Hot take: The Fnaf Community has gotten very toxic after Security Breach. Now I think you can make an argument that the community was toxic before 2021, but I'm not here to talk about that. Older Fnaf Fans have been/were saying that the newer Fans, "aren't real fans' ' or "not as good". As an older fan, it made me quite uncomfortable. When the fnaf movie was coming out, I would see memes about how the new fans would be so grossed out at the springlock scene and the old ones were "sO MaTuRe" and "those babies can't handle it". Tho these could have been just jokes, but jokes at the newer fans expense. Now to their credit I also did not like that SB was censored and kid friendly. Also Release of Fnaf Plus and the VHS tapes didn't help the situation either. I really hope this gets in the video, for me, and for this community.Thank you for listening and have a Fazeriffic day...

    Hot take incoming!
Scraptrap's concept is lackluster. Even if you fix the design problems, a beaten up william afton who is barely standing isn't that threatening, especially if you compare him to the killing machine that scrap baby is. Imo we should have gotten an upgraded version of scraptrap, a version of springtrap that got destroyed by the fire, and then patched his suit and upgraded his body with different animatronic parts (from across the first 5 games)
to become an actual THREAT. His name would be stitchtrap due to the stitches on his body, his missing arm would be replaced with a dangerous tool that he could use to attack with like a foxy hook or a nightmare sharp claw ect, and he would basically be like a Frankenstein monster, just like how springtrap is like a zombie and scraptrap is like a walking skeleton.

I have a hot take. I feel like Fall Fest 1970 is probably going to tie the daycare attended to some way because he's the popular character right now. You know, like some story that he was there from the beginning and probably unintentionally helping William Afton with his murders, and maybe having a plot twist that he was the first sentient animatronic before the Funtime.

I don't know If you'll ever do one of these again but I'm kicking myself that I didn't come up with this one sooner. The music of fnaf is SERIOUSLY underated. Maybe because it can be pretty low key, but what is there is all incredibly varied while still feeling cohesive. Peices that induce dread like watch your 6 and venta black, pieces that carry a sense of mystery and exploration like caught in a loop, but my favorites are the simple piano heavy tracks that just lay the scene's emotion bare like the one that plays during fnaf 3's good ending and the one that plays during SL custom night's final cutscene. That last one's my personal favorite.

Heres one of mine: Recently I was watching a video on a mimic and I realized how absurd all this is. Like I can't think of any other series that does this. Its extremely weird how she games just don't completely connect, but its hand waved away because "oh this is fnaf and its supposed to be so complicated. If it were any other series it would be pretty unacceptable. (This is manly stemming from the mimic vs burntrap debate)

  • @samthesoupman6385
    @samthesoupman6385 3 месяца назад +1

Hot take: I think a good way to tie in the mimic and make it feel less “forced” is if the mimic1 program was put inside springtrap when the fazbears freights people found him. Think about it, they probably assumed this old broken thing wouldn’t work at all, so they probably wrote something up to make it work again (not knowing that Afton was possessing it). This would explain why the obviously fake children’s laugh diversion works on Afton, the program of the machine is forcing him to follow the vocal cues. After Afton’s spirit is sent to UCN, all that’s left is the mimic program, which they scan into Help Wanted.

The story needs to be started back up from scratch with different diversions in the timeline. Mike gets bit instead, CC posses FunTimeFred, Elizabeth and Charlie survives to adulthood, Henry becomes the main Villain and gets SpringLocked in GoldenFreddy…
So many possibilities if you just go back to the beginning and start anew completely.

(Hot-take below this) The person publicly admitting to not liking Sun when the DCA Sub-fandom is so ravenous, has some serious fazballs.
Now my hot-take, which honestly might be kinda lukewarm- Eclipse should have been split into two. One could be more like the evil one we see in the arcade machine, perhaps “Solar” could have been how to differentiate it from the Eclipse that we got in ruin, which could have been “Lunar”. Solar could be a looming threat with Moon, maybe they could mess with the players tech and such since we originally see what could be them in an arcade machine, while Lunar would pair with Sun, acting like the Eclipse we have now.
Maybe we could have eventually met a sprite of Solar, they could fully infect whatever tech we tried to use and the sprite would taunt us. (Would also be super cool if they had 4 arms, just because)
And Lunar could have maybe tried to warn us about their *own* dark side, Solar, and maybe we could have gotten some kind of interaction between the two Eclipses.
I also wouldn’t have minded if Eclipse had just been evil in general, no “Lunar” to counterbalance, just evil bastard Eclipse with a design closer to the Balloon World Eclipse, preferably still a sprite though.
(TSAMS fandom this has nothing to do with us, do not misunderstand my words-)

My Take: I wish Vanny was the main villain of Security breach; and I hate the stupid secret twin twist.
It’s obvious that that twist was added to screw with theorists. Considering the Vanny Meter that was going to be added. Where Officer Vanessa would disappear and Vanny would appear.
I personally think Vanny is scarier than Burntrap. She gives me, ironically, kind of a Silent Hill feeling when I look at her, who here remembers the Silent Hill 3 Rabbit?
And I think the game would be cooler: if when you shattered the Animatronics, they were actually out of the picture, and instead; Vanny became more frequent, maybe she starts trying new tactics like traps and ambushes. She isn’t a robot, she is a human capable of improvising, and the game should’ve capitalized on that.
Burntrap honestly added nothing to the story for me, I don’t care if it is or isn’t the Mimic. I don’t care. A possessed/influenced follower of AI Afton was much more interesting, and I love her creepy design.

Hot take: After FNaF 3 Scott cant make a good villain. After fire in Fazbear Frights William, and Childrens souls that were finally free after decades of sadness and fear with just perfect ending. Then we get FNaF SL and Circus Baby...great charcater with actually awesome motives just to become an epispde villain...yeah, but hey! he comes back second time, just to say some "creepy" scenteces that dont even have sense in FFPS in game that supposed to be the last in this franchise, then he also somehow survive and his mind was scanned for some reason, I am not joking can someone tell me why the hell Fazbear Entertwinment went to burned Pizzeria just to scann burned to dust parts, really? You think its the last time you see purple guy, you know whats will be "funny" if he came back in form as a robot ( that we never heard about) as a Mimic, so know we have to forget about Vanny that could do his purpuse of main villain better with better story telling from HW1 tapes which gave us actual lore , but no ...I guess AI with voice changer is better even if We dont know anything about it, we dont know why he was even built (in game)

The whole “fnaf has gotten too kid friendly” is a really wild ride depending on who’s talking lol, but I completely agree with security breach, like, seriously? It seemed steel wool and Scott were terrified at even hinting at the darkness fnaf is known for, the word “blood” being censored is just bizarre, like you mentioned, multiple kids and teen franchises have blood dark topics and dead bodies so having them not even mention anything is weird, especially when in help wanted we hear about a guy slicing his own face off, I wonder if it had to do with how security breach as a game is, it’s a free roam open world (kinda) game its story is direct and face front while in other games we have newspaper articles and audio logs telling the story so they could slip in the dark stuff but with security breach they got a bit scared with how direct it is but that doesn’t really make sense with how other franchises do it and how weird SBs story is lol

THANK GOD FOR YOUR HOT TAKE AT THE END 😭 I absolutely agree!! The "fall fest" is stupid in my opinion. I would love to know more details about the MCI but at the same time the mystery behind it is what makes it so fun!! Instead of a fall fest why can't we have a canon Fredbear's Family Diner game? Like another POV of the bite of 83?
Anyways~ here are some hot takes if you ever decide to make another one of these videos!
I absolutely hate Help Wanted 2's design for Ennard. He was my favorite character and I'm so so disappointed and also angry. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't too fond of Mr. Play-Doh either but at least he was accurate. Like, why the hell does Ennard have a second eye in the mask. In the original model he was missing one. Also his forehead is horrifically huge on the cameras during the private room level. Honestly, he kind of looks like Caillou. Look at a photo of original Ennard then look at Help Wanted 2 Ennard. HW2's isn't even shiny or anything!! He honestly still looks like play doh!! He definitely isn't the shiny toy plastic and/or metal as intended. Speaking of which the mask is just off entirely. His mouth is too far down. It makes him look like he has a heavy under bite. Looking at photos of original Ennard you can see that his bottom "teeth" are much less hidden as compared to this new model. I think the goofy-ness of this model can be highlighted in his jumpscare. I mean, just look at that forehead man... What the hell 😭😭
Speaking of abnormally long foreheads.. I have this same issue with Glamrock Bonnie. I see a lot of people hating on the design and I gotta say I have to agree. His face is just so ... ugly. His front teeth are way way too pointy. Same with his mussel (I'm not sure what else to call it). If he had a rounder mussel and teeth similar to those of Toy Bonnie he would look ADORABLE (also a shorter forehead lol)!!
I also really want them to take Security Breach off the shelves. Like honestly. If they just remade Security breach fnaf would be saved 😭😭 If we had Vanny as an actual villain then we wouldn't need all this mimic bull crap to make up for Afton. Help Wanted actually had a pretty solid idea of having the Afton virus or whatever control people. I actually kinda digged that and I want it back 😭 I would honestly do anything for a security breach remake or at least a polished demo version of the game before they changed the plot and everything (specifically before they changed Vanessa's character). I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Vanessa in the game and movie were supposed to be similar if not the same but of course they had to change it 😮‍💨😒
