Slight hiccup at the mo - torn a ligament in my knee, with a brace sure I will be back in the car in a few days, then it's the wait for a spot of keyhole to fix it 😬
It has surprised me how well its made - the dash is hard plastic and the odd rough edge here and there, but it does not feel like it's going to fall to bits any time soon.
Looks like it can take a good off road bashing underneath. I think the skid plate under the engine is prone to rust, so a coat of hammerite to protect it, would be a good idea.
If only we had a decent sized oven, I would powder coat it - I am still looking to get a sid plate that gives some protection, like the PanDakar car - struggling to find it, so the old paintbrush will be out :)
@@DrivenMadShow Yes the PanDakar car does look the business, I suspect a lot of the parts are custom made? Don't you think Fiat are missing out on a softer, toned down Dakar version of the Panda 4x4? Like higher suspension, more rugged looking, roof air scoop, rear spoiler mudflaps etc etc👍😎😯
@@DrivenMadShow There are a few owner converted 'Abarth' turbo 1.4 versions around, seen a few youtube videos now.😎👍 The panda looks really odd, lowered, with extended wheel archs, ultra wide semi slick tyres, roaring and snarling at the bit, spitting fire, popping and crackling, from a single, central, huge exhaust tail pipe! Good call Jason, there's a "but" coming ... 🤣Portugal has an outstanding motoring "thing" - vehicles here are double taxed, so a 30K car in say the UK would be almost 40K here and as the vehicle price goes up, so do a selection of taxes - used cars are bizarrely expensive and have decent value, even the ones I would call scrap are 2-3K. I do have a JEEP Wrangler Rubicon - a rarely seen beast, and Nath has an ML, but that needs a new engine - these two are polished within an inch of their lives and never see dust (as an aside, Nath is beside himself I won't let the JEEP see dirt) - a good example of used prices, our 2005 ML is say 1K in the UK - here 12K - real oddities here are Jags (shame as I really want an S type (don't ask why 😂)) and Land Rovers - hold their value incredibly and are mega desirable here - a Defender is rocking horse poo and ludicrous prices - so when we are done with the L200 v Panda duel, think a Grand Cherokee could be a route or an UMM (that will test your car knowledge ).
