pro tip for dumbfire rockets just put pods on one site of the chopper its far more precise often if you use both sites half your missile will miss so dont carry them into battle. this saves weight and make you more agile. but you have to be precise and stop spaming.
Not sure if this will help anyone, but in terms of weapon controls I’m in the habit of using secondary weapon selection. It cycles through each of the armament options you have available, and they can all be fired with the same key. You can then set how much of your ordnance you use (where applicable) with a secondary weapon ripple quantity key. Using rockets as an example, I can fire them individually with my Ctrl key or fire them in sets of 2, 4, 8, or 16, or I can set it to Series which fires as long as I hold down the key. Bombs work the same way, but it’s not an option for AGM/AAMs for obvious reasons. As a side note, you can have primary weapon selection as well for aircraft with mixed primary armament if you want to try and conserve ammo.

If u don't have a tank high rank enough, or if you are an AB player; Heli PvE is your only choice (ground assault gives even less RP). Good place to use those 200%+ boosters (yes u can use boosters in PvE), not to mention that u probably don't want to take a stock rank 6+ heli out to Ground RB. I'd say a few PvE maps are even fun. In a test-fly I do the 200/200 test with all the helis i can/unlock aka: on 200m at 200km/h i try to do a roll and a loop/flip ... the results are surprising (like the Mi-24 can do a full backflip without crashing but the AH-64 can't). + the Z-19 is disgusting how agile it is. Also if u have a top tank, the premium heli of that nation is usually enough to "get u covered", and u only need more to play helis on lower BRs too, or if u want to collect them. Fun fact: u need an actual rank 5 plane or tank to unlock the helis, if u simply buy a rank 6 premium that's not gonna count! + in my experience the heli with the "worst" rotor stall effect are the AH-64s (not the Russians). I even say: "I did an apache" when i crash do to it.

is it a guide? yes, helpful at that is it the ULTIMATE guide? not really, doesn't dive into the actual specific gameplay dynamics of each helicopter type and focus more on atgm helicopters which don't require as much experience as doing rocket runs in, for example, Mi-24P, it's helpful and all to get started off playing helicopters but really doesn't teach you much more than "launch atgm from far away." personally it took me years to actually master helicopters beyond that.
I have a strange problem with helicopter thermals. I have key binds for the control for it but it doesn’t turn on when I activate it in gunner view. Can someone help me plz. (I’m on console btw)

heli pve is the best place to grind. if you play the objective until there about 15% left on the tickets then just go afk until the match ends on its own you get the full activity for the time you were afk. ive gotten 90k rp from one match in pve doing this with only a premium account and premium heli no boosters. if youre having trouble with helis try getting a squad of friends and make sure everyone goes afk right before the match ends. easy rp
(coming from a heli veteran) A really nice guide you put together, still holds up well even after a couple of updates. I do feel like you neglected to mention the DIRCM system that comes stock on the Ka-52 and Mi-28NM, which can easily deflect incoming IR missiles from nearly all angles without player input, even those missiles equipped with ECCM. If it ever felt like your Stingers just couldnt touch a Ka-52 no matter what you did, this is why. A bit more elaboration on the PvE mode would have also been appreciated, in my opinion it provides the easiest learning experience for new pilots but can be rather frustrating if you dont know things like SPAAG engagement ranges or how the different objectives work. Still, keep up the good work and I'll see you around.

You need to take the Heli into a ground realistic battle, you need to have tanks in your lineup in order to go into a battle
