- Also. um. While undergoing the horrors that is animation finals, I turned to tma the same way a medieval peasant turns to jesus christ, and now i am going through it (2) so uhm. The brainrot is strong
my uploads will be. very sporadic. and also. nonexistent! (joking)
But I am a bit more active on my social medias because I don't really animate as much now
Apologies for the scribbles that are my storyboards, they don't really make sense to anyone but me. But I was asked what my process was like before so here's a glimpse of that haha.
I'm thinking of not making my animatic this polished next time it would save me a lot of grief lol

I'VE JUST REALIZED OH MY GOD. in "warrior of the mind", odysseus looks in water at his reflection to talk to athena. in ruthlessness, odysseus looks through poseidon's water and sees his reflection, which is then tainted similarly to his reflection with athena.
Giant Poseidon leaning on the ship to freak the crew out is such a nice detail. I think the size people decide to make him is really interesting.
I'm not gonna lie, the changed to "My Goodbye" are straight cooking, those just look dope as hell, I can see the vision. Rip WIP

The new changes really add more weight to the song being their last goodbye

@@Julia-pn9cn I’m honestly not sure, I only remember reading parts of the Iliad growing up. I’ve listened to more songs from the musical and Athena does befriend Odysseus’s son.

My feelings exactly! I'm at the point I almost can't watch anyone else's animations of Epic because I just love all of Wolfy's so much, they feel like the canon art to me haha

Those seconds of Ruthlessness were freaking AMAZING, Poseidon looks so genuinely threatening, intimidating, imposing, he is powerful and he knows it, he could kill them all so easily but he's playing with them all first, I freaking love it.
It's also so visually pleasant, I LOVE the design, and the smile appearing from the water is so great, so creative.
I'm absolutely FERAL over Poseidan dropping his elbow on the boat and then smacking Odyssous down with the same water he shows the reflection with.
THE COREOGRAPHY IS JUST AMAZING! GAH! LOVED IT. even if it was brief, thanks for sharing.

I love the stuff you've thought of to remake "My Goodbye" and think it would've made it a lot stronger, but I am also fond of the original. Thanks for sharing the storyboards! Love the imagery of Athena cutting herself out of Odysseus's life tapestry.

You have my absolute favorite depiction of Poseidon and the emphasis of his size and power! I've been vibrating with excitement to see your ruthlessness take, and I can see it would have been awesome! But I also totally understand how the pressure to force yourself to complete something that isn't working anymore is detrimental. I hope whatever projects you're working on now bring you a ton of joy, and I look forward to seeing them!

idk why but the sequence starting from 1:41 where ody is walking scratches my brain in the right way idk it just feels so fluid and the subtle camera shift rlly does a lot for a such a short sequence. sad its abandoned but honestly even unfinished these animatics r great! have fun with the tma brainrot
Ok but the underwater shot from "Storm" ❤🤩🤩 and when the oar gets into the water and then we move up to the boats and the crew☺️. Plus, what you had so far for Ruthlessnes was just brilliant 🌊 Please dont give up on epic, your animatics are incredible
Quite sad to see you leaving the epic fandom animations, especially that they REALLY helped me to get into epic in the first place and i had so much fun seeing the amazing work you kept making, I'm not a podcast person but seeing your cool looking art (and some friends encouragement) I started TMA and having a great timr!! i can't wait to see even more of your art in the future and thanks for sharing these awesome animations wips!!!

Wherever your animation journey takes you, please don't take these Epic animatics down unless you have to or you just can't bear to have them up. Yours is my favorite Poseidon, and this fandom has produced some _incredible_ Poseidon designs.

I am so sad to know these animatics will (most likely) never be finished, but from what you've shown they look absolutely stunning. Your talent is seriously beyond belief. I adore the movement of Poseidon in Ruthlessness! The way his form keeps slipping back and forth from water and man is just excellent, and I'm obsessed with how he tipped their boat by resting his elbow on it. It is such an effective way of making him project effortless power and, in my opinion, your animatic elevated the song.
RIP the WIP, praying one day they can be revived but they're amazing nonetheless and I hope you know how much we love your work!!!
I Discover epic with your video but fall in love not only with the music but more thare anything with your animation idea. If you are going to do more short video of this musical i will be happy but more than anything i really love so see you animation on every kind of fandom/ stuff ❤

I am a student whose major project to finish their course is an animation.
I've been looking at your work as a huge fountain of inspiration! I love seeing your unfinished WIPs (abandoned or not), as they sort of "demystify" the process of animation by seeing all the shapes, squiggles and lines that formed the scaffolding throughout the making of the craft!
Seeing the WIPs makes me much more confident to trust my process and tackle down my assignment instead of procrastinating like I've been doing for so long.
So, thank you for sharing your work, and, specially, for sharing the unfinshed WIPs.
Congrats on surviving your finals, and I hope you manage it through the mid-artsyle crisis! :)

Wolfy, I can understand what you're saying about your change of style and needing to "see" the scene to be able to animate it and still needing to do that before the motivation runs out. I suffer a lot from creative block. But I also need to say how your animations made Epic come to life for me. Seriously, I don't want to put pressure on you or seem like I'm demanding, but your animations transported me into the myth. Your videos made me cry and smile along with Odysseus, they made me feel every emotion, and honestly, it was even because of them that I'm hooked on the musical today. And well, I know that this is much more than just the style of animation and drawing. This is thanks to your vision, your interpretation of the scenes and imagination that fill the animation with so much expressiveness. No matter how much your style changes, I'm sure you won't miss this detail. Well, all this just to say that even if you remade all the animations I would watch it again, even if it was a stick figure. And sorry for any spelling mistakes, I'm using the translator, I'm Brazilian and I don't speak English very well.

I so hope you finish “ruthlessness”. It’s one of my favorite songs in Epic and your Poseidon design is my absolute favorite. The shark teeth are just the cherry on top. But we all understand starting projects and finding them difficult to finish. Thanks for sharing regardless ❤

I love the fluidity of Poseidon and his dangerously impish nature. I feel like you should finish Ruthlessness. You really brought him to life.
I know as an artist it's kinda sad to loose the energy in a project, and to see how much energy and effort put into a piece only for it to feel like sunk-cost. But also as an artist I love the fact that you still showed this to us, because even sketches and art studies are placed in museums. To see your process, and clearly follow the narrative and tell the emotions with just the guidelines of the head shows sooo much artistic talent and helps those that might study your work (I know there is definitely people that love how you do expressions, including me) understand how you get to the spectacular animation level your at. I know I'm excited to see your process from start to finish, for every upload you do, and if some end up in the graveyard it's still cool to see what you were envisioning as you heard the songs!

I LOVE the way you portray poseidon here. that rage thats boiled over so far that he almost seems calm. his casual stroll almost dressing down of oddy and the ships is brilliant. then you SLAM the lean into the ship rocking the whole thing like hes some kind of malicious version of The Genie. Gods DAMN thats good.

Wolfy, we want you to be happy with what you’re working on (even if we will mourn the masterpieces never made). Your Poseidon is my favorite, and it’s a bummer we’re not likely to get a full Ruthlessness. Your renditions for Epic are my favorite amongst the bunch and has inspired me so much - the nuances, the character design and compositions and the flow - I was really hoping to see Epic animated with you at the lead. I actually still play your videos whenever I get into an animation slump, and I'm always showing it to people! Sad to see you jump ship but wherever you swim to next, I'm certain it'll be great and I look forward to it! (no pressure though! Relax and do what you do, but take care of yourself for sure!) [ ^_^];;
I always imagine him walking away after "alone" in my goodbye and she's just singing at his back getting angrier and crying 😢
Even if these animatics never get finished I still immensely enjoy seeing how much creativity and skill you out into these.
I really liked the emptiness of the original 'My Goodbye.' There was such a focus on Athena and Odysseus because there was absolutely nothing else to take your eyes off of them or distract. It almost felt like Athena pulled Odysseus into an empty space on purpose. Just a god and a man duking out their emotions and pain. :3c
I love all of this. As someone who is aspiring toward a career in storyboarding, it's so fascinating to see the process behind the finished animatics! Especially the My Goodbye remake, I love seeing all the little notes and choices that went into it. And the changes you would have made in a second attempt.
If EPIC ever gets picked up for an animated film (small chance, I know, but a girl can dream), I sure hope you're on the storyboard team - your boards do such an amazing job of bringing each song and each character to life!
