    • @JadusMoltriel
      @JadusMoltriel Месяц назад +10

      No. That was Jezrien, King of the Heralds and patron of the Windrunners. As a Herald, he went crazy along with the others, and throughout the books, he was shown in scenes near art or sculptures of the Heralds, and he would yell at random people "Have you seen me? Do you see me?" while drunk. The "do you see me" is referring to all the paintings and sculptures of himself, being the Herald King and all. He's constantly drunk and acting crazy like this, often laughing at grand art of him and the Heralds (likely due to his shame over what they did), but when confronted by Vyre, he displays momentary awareness and cognition to the situation, himself, and what's going on.
      Also, during Gavilar's feast, Nale and Kelek refer to him being there, and they also reference another Herald being there due to "seeing her handiwork" (likely Shalash, since she was known for defacing and destroying any art of the Heralds showing herself, also due to shame). But yea, the drunk guy under the giant statue in this animation is without question Jezrien, since he quotes EXACTLY what he says in the books, is under art of likely a herald like the books, and was a drunk at Gavilar's feast. There is literally a scene exactly like this, where Szeth walks by him as he yells if anyone sees him, before Szeth attacked Gavilar.
      Dalinar was passed out, not yelling, and at the Royal Table. Not in some random hallway.

  • @GhostKingDeAngelo

    I love the detail that Szeth looks utterly miserably the entire time, and looks uncomfortable with what he is doing. It really shows how even though everyone thinks he is evil, he is just following orders.

  • @thebygoneking

    You forgot one of the most critical lines in the opening “You must find the most important words a man can say”, Gavalar tells Szeth to say this to Dalinar,
    **spoiler**
    It leads into Dalinar swearing the first ideal of the Bondsmith, and following that also leads to Dalinar telling Odium “You can’t have my pain”. Finally, it leads onto Dalinar saying “The most important step a man can take, is not the first one. It’s the next one.”

      *IS BETTER IF YOU WATCH THE PROLOGUE IN BRANDON SANDERSON RUclips*
      In the prologue, we see that Gavilar said that because he was saying random phrases to the supposed "Stormfather" trying to become a herald (yes, that´s right) and the "Stormfather" told him to stop saying random shit and won´t trust anyone from the Kholin family again. In the end, Gavilar never was even close to figuring it out the words and was an awful person.

      Unless this is a different missive from Wit, the epigraph in question was to Sazed, on Scadrial, not Frost. Am I missing something, or did you mix something up? I know therr are a ton of epigraphs, so maybe you're thinking of a different one? The way this one began, is exactly how he began his letter to Sazed/ Harmony.

      @MrKhalsaman 8 дней назад

      @@JadusMoltriel okay I love how confidently incorrect you are but yeah you’re so wrong lol. First of all I said he had never “met” sazed. This is evident in Sazed’s letter to Hoid in Oathbringer where he says “I am also made uncertain by your subterfuge. Why have you not made yourself known to me before this?”.
      Furthermore, although Hoid did write a letter to Sazed, the contents of said letter are not present in any of the books’ epigraphs. The words we see in this video are from the book The Way of Kings, and is the first letter in the epigraphs that we got in this series. And it is absolutely directed to Frost rather than Sazed, we even get Frost’s response in latter epigraphs.
      Before you waste any more of my time by insisting that I’m incorrect, I suggest you look at the coppermind wiki entry for the stormlight letters. You will find the truth within there. Here’s a link if you’re too lazy to google it yourself coppermind.net/wiki/Letters

      @JadusMoltriel Месяц назад +1

      Jezrien's Honorblade, which is what Szeth uses, is described as about 5 feet long, thin (compared to other Honorblades), with a slight curve. It should look like a slightly larger version of Elrond's sword in Lord of the Rings, with maybe a slightly more pronounced curve at the end, and a long handle with a subtle crossguard. The other Honorblades and shardblades are described as around 6 feet long, and SOME of them are wider, though they can be regular width for a sword, too. I noticed a lot of the concept art in the books made them seem a little bigger and thicker than they are described in the words of the books themselves, and I believe that is an artistic intent to make the reader aware that they ARE, indeed, big, but if you were to adapt from the book to visual medium exactly by the words Sanderson wrote, they wouldn't be as big or wide as they are in the inner artwork. I noticed the COVER (and back cover) art on the books tends to very closely imitate the written descriptions. For example, look at the cover of Way of Kings. You see Elhokar in his golden shardplate, pointing his shardblade out in front (Is the name of that blade Sunraiser, I think?), and the proportions of both the armor and blade in that image are precisely what they are described as in the text. It also looks more realistic, and thus would be more believable to do in animation or live action, than if they based it off the inner, "concept" art.
      Another back-cover image shows Szeth (I believe back of Words of Radiance), and you see that the Honorblade isn't as much bigger than a regular sword than some people think. Jezrien's Honorblade is smaller than most shards, but compared to normal weapons, it's like a big Elven longsword or almost falchion.
      I enjoyed this animation, but the honorblade and shardblade were not good. I just addressed Szeth's honorblade, but for Gavilar, his blade is detailed out in text and shown in concept art as the one that was straight, wide, and with the lower third looking like tongues of flames reaching up towards the blade. The one animates in this video is clearly Adolin's. Easy mistake to make, even for those that read multiple times, but if you check the books, you'll see I am correct about this.
      Still, thank you SO much for your work animating this scene! I'm sure it took a lot of effort, and overall I enjoyed it!
