@@superunknown2812 Man, there are fans complaining about it being too long, and yes we are all fans (even those who don't dig the album), lets not be bound to divide us right in two, i'm eager for another whole day of music of such level like Fear Inoculum delivers. There's a joke in twitter about tool relasing another album the next week, very MJK.
Iv only just discovered this channel a month ago so i haven't been apart of this journey, but im glad i did. This was a great review for one of my all time fav bands. when the year ends and you retire it will be a sad day but what a way to go out cause this has been a great year for metal.

Many hate him already but I still watch sometimes. Strong 4 is sad. Maybe he'll change his mind later to a Light 5. 😂
Anthony's review is a joke, he blatantly had a negative bias toward the album. He barely went into any detail and threw out childish insults just calling the album "bad" "awful" "dry as a desert." He earned the 15,000 Dislikes on his review. A total joke.

there are flashes of it on Fear Inocolum. its a real jam seshy sounding album compared to their others imo. the last 4 minutes of Descending and all of 7empest are probably the most unleashed i’ve ever heard Adam and Danny play together, its almost like they’re flexing their chops on those songs
can´t stop listening to it again and again and again... i guess it´s gonna be one of the most awesome records in a couple of years, by now it´s just quite great
That was a rollercoaster of a review but I hear what your saying it's an awesome album and every time I listen to it, it gets getting better and better. Regardless I love it
Finally a good fair review of IF. Absolutely loved it and agree with all the above. You've expressed much of its complexity perfectly. Thanks again for the work and we will miss you a lot!
I wasn't very thrilled by the title track, but somehow I liked every single song more than the last. 7empest was the perfect finish I hope it would be.
This album is a different kind of experience for sure, but I love it. It's a mellow build up to the album's crescendo, 7empest, which may be my favorite song Tool have ever made. It feels like an encompassing opus of every sound throughout their career. Listening to it as one giant song totally changes it too. Sonically, it's beautiful. Lyrically, it may be scare, but it's profound. This isn't Lateralus. How could a band possibly replicate a masterpiece like that? It probably isn't possible. But this album is its own masterpiece. I feel the wait was worthwhile, because we got this beauty thanks to it. I can't give it a perfect score, but I can give it damn close to one. 99/100. My Tool album ranking: 5. Undertow 4. Ænima 3. 10,000 Days 2. Fear Inoculum 1. Lateralus
Only a best album could cause the reception this one is causing, even more so with the huge expectation around the new record, AND the not less huge shadow that their accomplished discography may cast on future works. I'm impressed while writing this, but I think this is their best album. My expectations were blown away. The identity of their sound haven't changed, but the style evolved, again. It means they are better musicians. Maturity can be a wonderful thing - a new youth, in a way. Also, they show true respect for each other. That helps along the way. 13 years!
Wow. I'm surprised you ranked it so high honestly. If we go song per song, I guess you could put it up there since there really isn't fillers like (-) Ions, but lyrically, Fear Inoculum doesn't compare with 10,000 Days or AEnima. Maybe I'm putting too much emphasis in lyrics. Maynard getting deep with his story telling has always been my favorite part about tool, but I didn't feel the songs were as impactful.
@@Eijah36 I love the storytelling of Tool as well, and I personally feel like we got that with this album, despite there being less lyrics than past albums, but that's the beauty of opinions. Spiral out, my friend 🤘😊👍
I told my cousin that this album was more of an experience rather than a metal album. You can tell the growth by hearing this album, you feel the music rather than just headbanging to it. This is a work of art that few will actually realize and I think that's what makes this CD so FUCKING BADASS
@Torvus Bog i feel like all the songs are great but like a lot of tool fans 7empest is my favorite.....jones guitar sound and riffs on that song are incredible!
Tool music always does. I wasn't even crazy about the Lateralus album my first listen but after time i started to realize what a masterpiece it was and how alot of the songs connect with eachother, and then it became my favorite album of all time.Tool isn't some simple band that makes catchy, simple and repetative 3 minute songs that get old a week later and are then forgotten,Tools music will still be relevant and interesting 50 years from now imo.
CKN... This is literally the best review you have ever done. Fear Inoculum stands among the pantheon of greatest albums and displays of concept and musicianship ever recorded. Thank you for everything, brother.
Pneuma's lyrics probably hit home more than anything else I've heard from Tool: We are spirit bound to this flesh We go round one foot nailed down But bound to reach out and beyond this flesh Become Pneuma We are will and wonder Bound to recall, remember We are born of one breath, one word We are all one spark, sun becoming
This is kind of pretentious those are among the corniest lyrics featured in a Tool song, and the song is just so boring you’re waiting the whole time for the tempo to pick up and it just ends. There are parts of this record that are “good” but they don’t even pale in comparison to everything the band did before. And every fan blows the “good” parts out of proportion x10.
CKN your reviews of all of their discography is definitely your Swan Song, Masterpiece, Magnum Opus. I have immensely enjoyed each & every moment. I’m glad you were able to do this & share with all of us. I just want to say Thank you for your time & commitment.
I fell asleep listing to this album let me tell you that I had never been in such a relaxing state of sleep and sound peace my body felt light and the noise in my head cause by my anxiety became silent as I felt the music flow through my body deeper and deeper I slept I awoke feeling like I had been gone for days I felt incredibly rejuvenated with comfort in my own body and mind Wow... literally woke up from that 20 mins ago never before sure it may not lateralus or enema but it damm well Donse not have to because its Tool and that is all that matters now if you will excuse me I have to go back and listen to it again
@@VarsityAthlete04 I've fallen asleep to Tool many times... This isn't Metallica or Children of Bodom or some shit... There's many slow/trippy parts, its fine to fall asleep to it, doesn't mean you were bored, means you were relaxed and probably also tired...

Hey CK -- Long story short, I'm a longtime fan. Short story long, I remember hearing Tool for the first time on the radio and was immediately blown away. Shortly after that first listen, I went to youtube for some more. I don't remember which video it was, but I remember asking you if Tool ever played on the radio where you're from, too. I HAD to see if other people knew about these guys. This had to be around 10 years ago, but I still think back about that. I'm 23 now and gah-DAM the wait was worth it. Descending and 7empest absolutely slayed me. PS I loved that comment you made about the proverbial "handshake" between Tool and potheads. Oh how far we've come in 13 years...
I have the physical copy of the new album. Yes, it can run Wolfenstein: Young Blood AND can separate particles without destabilising the space time continuum.
I was a 10 boy when 10,000 days came out, man. Now I'm a 23 year old man having gone through TOOL's discography time and time again throughout high school and college. Simply magnificant album.
Hell yeah, Tool's back! I'm so excited to have been able to cover the album! Huge opportunity to be here for the comeback of Tool. I've been a long-time admirer of the band--have their stuff on physical and some on digital! Straight from the first single, I knew it was going to be a special comeback. The fact they're simultaneously accessible but hard-hitting as fuck, and always avant-garde and art rock-inspired yet popular...it's just amazing. I also dropped an in-depth review of the album if anyone's interested. As always, kick ass review, man!
Very cogent and thought provoking review. I'll get straight to the point. This album took several listens before the lightbulb came on and I said to myself "This is awesome!". The more I listened the more I began to appreciate the effort that went into making it and the more I began to like it. This continued until I came upon an important realization. That realization was that Fear Inoculum is Tool's masterpiece and goes beyond anything they have done before and yes that includes Aneima and Lateralus. The sophisticated subtleties in this release take longer to recognize and in turn to enjoy but they are there and that is one of the strengths of this album. Make no mistake this album requires several listens before one is able to see and comprehend the entire musical picture. However, once you are able to fully digest and understand it's structure you will begin to realize what a stunning achievement this record is.
Save The Republic I've loved music deeply for nearly 30 years now and only recently amazingly discovered Tool a few months back. But yes, I've listened to FI about 20 times so far and only now is it slowly sinking in. I've never heard or experienced anything like it. I usually get a feeling very early with albums and beyond the title track, I couldn't get a handle on any of the other songs for a long while. But now I'm starting to recognise songs and look forward to moments in them and it's beginning to become an absolutely unbelievable record. As I say, I'm a short term Tool fan, but this is the best album of theirs.
Me too lmao!! This album is f*cking wonderful!! I can say easily their best work to date! I'm obv a huge fan since 94 so I love every Tool Album but (for me) Fear Inoculum has totally blown me away! 13yrs was long and a lot has happened in the world but I think it was worth the wait! Great work man. Thanks
Exactly... You can't listen to a Tool album just once and dismiss it. The music is too complex, and that doesn't mean it is GOOD for sure, it just means it takes time and you need to almost anticipate what is coming next for it to sound as good as it does/should. This isn't some catchy BS top 40 song that is stuck in your head for days on one listen. It takes a bit of time and effort to truly appreciate Tool. That doesn't make them good or bad in a vacuum, and it doesn't make them some higher-level omg so deep set of musicians (even though that may be my opinion, its not necessarily true). It just makes them different from a ton of musical acts that most people enjoy.
This is how i felt too. The second time sounded better and the thrid time i was mind blown. You gotta listen to it several times. Theres just too much going on.
Definitely worth the wait. Chocolate chip trip is just Danny BTW. Just like he performs his drum solos live. He plays some electronic drums and then starts his synthesizer and plays along to it on drums. So bad ass.
@@Adam-bq6ic agreed heavily. This reviewer is perma-high. The drugs from 06' have him making shit up about a lackluster album. I never needed 10 years to enjoy a tool album.
Always appreciate your enthusiasm when discussing an album you really enjoy! It rubs off on me more times than not. Definitely going to give this a listen sometime.
Great album love the slow grooves and the song meanings. Lot of the people in this chat seem to want old tool where its harder and louder... bands change how do yall not know this by now lmao.. this album is one of their top 3 albums easily
No fuckn way..no one will say it because it almost seems impossible but tool made a shity album. Its not good and when people stop saying you have to listen to it a few times when they cant use that as a problem solving line they will be honest and have to face it the truth is that it sucks
Good review. I had gotten a bit fed up with tool in recent years, but got to sit down and listen for the first time last night on my home stereo. I'm impressed. Basically ended up hanging on every note. I need more listens to fully rate ut but wow, impressive so far.
Mark, I've been watching since you did iron maidens final frontier back in 2010ish. This specific review (FI) just may be your finest work ever. What a display of knowledge and execution. Thank you for your hard work!!
Jacob H you’re not quite doing the math right. They released 72826, technically their first release on 12-21-1991 and exactly 10,000 days after that is when the officially announced Fear Inoculum while on tour. So yeah, it ends up being about 10,034 days from 72826 to FI.
Grognak The Destroyer I think it’s by far their worst album. I don’t see any actual reviewers giving it a low score, because the fans will jump all over it. It’s a decent album, but a bad Tool album, imo.
Lateralus recycled with funky synth filler songs. It is a Noteralus for me although when Adam's guitar goes heavy with tap delay and the trademark sound is music to my ears.
It definitely takes a lot of reference from Lateralus (and Undertow when it comes to 7empest) but that’s by no means a bad thing. It’s their most mature sounding record I think, a good culmination of all the aspects that make Tool what they are. I can understand why some are feeling underwhelmed, I myself was hoping for a heavier record, but that only makes the few heavier parts that there are stand out by contrast. I’ve listened fully about 3 times, and I’m liking it more each time. Hard to rank it in their discography at the moment but it’s definitely a solid 8/10 for me
I wasn't a drug addict in 2006... Well I smoked weed every day and was getting into psychedelics so I was heading down the path, but that brain of mine was still pretty much pristine. No regrets honestly, I'm clean now, more or less, just cool looking back to think how much I've changed in 13 years. Thanks Tool.
I love this album more the more I listen to it. It develops with time. I often find myself humming a riff or interval. The ebb and flow of the songs really intrigue me. Long live Tool! Sorry to hear that you're retiring, bro.
I think the main reason people can't enjoy this album is because it's 2019 and people nowadays aren't happy with anything. The world has changed A LOT since 2006.
tool has been my favorite band since 6th grade and i absolutely loved this album. i thought it was worth the wait and it was great finally hearing new music that was played live. my personal favorites were pneuma, culling voices, and 7empest.
I was almost 4 when 10,000 days came out and I’m 17 now. I’m not gonna sit here and act like I’ve been waiting 13 years and that at the age of 4 I was aware of what I was listening to. Sure my dad played tool a lot for me but I do I remember that? Barely. But for like the 8-9 years I’ve listened to them and really really Considered myself a fan I’ve grown to love them tremendously, they’re my 2nd favorite band and have been for years. And I think this album was well worth the wait. As soon as it came out at 12am last night I listened to it fully through immediately. I absolutely loved Fear Inoculum and there are no complaints I have about it. I think it’s one of the best albums of the decade in my opinion. Fear Inoculum, Pneuma, Invincible, Descending, Chocolate Chip Trip, Culling Voices, and 7empest are all amazing tracks, and the 3 segues are like always are awesome but a bit mysterious. And everyone’s performance is just astounding, Danny Carey was just absolutely phenomenal as usually, especially obviously during CCT, Justin Chancellor of course crushed it with the tone and just the amazing riffs that usually compete with the guitar, and add a different texture to the song. And of course Maynard James Kenenans voice sounds amazing, and then Adam Jones, he was absolutely phenomenal during this album. I think this album has some of the hardest/ complex guitar riffs and just some of the best guitar playing overall I’ve ever heard. Thanks tool so much for changing my life so much for the better, and thanks coverkillernation for this review and your channel in general. I really really value your channel man, rock on 🤘
I've been a fan and sub for 7 years and it's sad you're leaving but I understand. I personally ecently had to give up music and it kills me but I have a bum wrist and can't even strum guitar anymore without pain. Still onwards and upwards mate good luck and God speed for the future. I've always respected your reviews and opinions and while i haven't always agreed I've always found your stuff passionate and informed. Much more constant than other RUclipsrs.
Springfeeeel I agree...3 out of 10 out of songs great right!? Sadly, i am dissatisfied. I will accept 10 000 Days as their final album and forget about this one. Anyways...it sounds like an over stock of Lateralus and 10 000 Days... oh well...
The title track and invincible are good as well, just not my highlights. I can see where you're coming from tho. If you weren't a huge fan of the last two albums, you probably aren't going to be a fan of this one.
As always love the reviews and the hair lol seriously through I discovered Stratovarius and Insomnium thru your reviews hoping to see many more to come you're good at this....very cool 😎
Maynard doesn’t do a vocal warm up live, so the first 1/3 of the show he sounds like dog shit. I don’t blame him for this because he is getting old. I think his vocal style is changing from yelling his head off into a more soft yet powerful tone. Just my take
I must be missing something honestly. To me it feels symmetrical and regurgitated. There were about 3 or 4 or more filler songs? that didn't even make sense? the other ones were extremely predictable, following the same formula they've always had but less inspired in a way? empty almost? There are times where I feel layering of harmonies and other auditive aids could've been used to create a much more filling atmosphere but it was rather lacking in the end. The riffs and production and lyrics are great but it just feels like something's missing. I can't believe it took 10 years to produce this.
Haven't listened to anything else since the album's release. You just find yourself gravitating towards it, more and more, it's that ridiculously good!!
Darth Mexihcah invincible is my favorite track too culling voices comes second but I disagree on the order 1. Lateralus 2. 10000 days 3/4. Aenima/ fear inoculum ( not sure which is first but depends on how I feel after a few more listens) 5. Undertow
It s really hard to classify albums from Tool. I just have to put 2-3 in one classification. 1. Aenima/Lateralus 2. Fear Inoculum/10000 days 3. Undertow/Salival/Opiate Btw, i love how everyone has a different classification
@@UndeadSasuke34 there all great albums, doesn't matter which order. It's just interesting to see other people place the albums in their favorable order. From different perspectives.
When you need a RUclips video to explain what your listening to, I just cant bring myself to listen to them complain instead of just say I don't get it. As is the way with most things that aren't understood. They're scolded and ridiculed. Then we all have to be stoner's because that's the only people who could possibly understand /like music like this. That being said this album is amazing and your review was one of the best I've heard. ✊🏽
*CAUTION - Mini Essay ahead* I like the album but I question how many listens that professional reviewers gave this album before arriving at their 5 out of 5 reviews because it's effectively a double album at its running length of just under ninety minutes. I've given it three listens and the album is slowly unfolding but it's impossibly dense for me to put a label on it at the moment because it's less of a track driven album and more like a psychedelic guitar orchestral suite. It's not the type of album you play in your car or just cherry pick individual tracks. Fear Inoculum was made to be listened to as an album which is a tremendous strength but, in some ways, a weakness because it's very rare that the album takes time to breathe. Starting from the second track, every song picks up from the thematic and sonic signature of the last moments of the song which preceded it. Let's see where this goes. This is my first Tool album so it's definitely a trip down a rabbit hole.
Wait, first Tool album for you, and you're loving it? Awesome man! Fuck! Over the next few weeks definitely give 10,000 Days, Lateralus, and Aenima the same treatment (don't dismiss them on the first listen, give them a good 5 listens to really love them deeply, and as you say, they're also best enjoyed as a full album instead of picking and choosing songs).
@@mraso30 Yeah, at the moment my music tastes have broadened into more psychedelic, less song driven acts. So, Fear Inoculum has come at the perfect time. I was never waiting for this album but I knew a little about the band and had always wanted to try them but never took the step. I've been listening to Fear Inoculum since day one of release. I love the fact that this album plays more like a psychedelic guitar orchestral suite and demands to be listened to as an album. But, I guess that could also be an inherent flaw to the album because, apart from the interludes and instrumentals, it's rare that this album comes up for air. But, very impressive, glad to be on board and explore the band's discography. I'm going to stick with this one some more before moving onto another album. *4 out of 5*
ABSOLUTELY. The more I listen the more incredible this album becomes. Didnt care for Culling Voices when i first heard but then connection was made and it's one of my favs. Album is Perfect.
For me it only got worse and I liked the first listen. Now I can't fully enjoy a single song anymore, the album sounds so underwhelming, uninspired and lazy to me now, I really wish it was the other way around.
All your tool album reviews are great mate. I’m digging the new album more n more I listen to it. In a nut shell the new album has to be listened the whole way through to experience it. Just imagine what it would sound like live. Hurry up tool and head to Australia 🇦🇺🌀🌀🌀🌀
I'm letting it sink. It's too overwhelming to just spin twice and review. I'm gonna let it sit, let it unfurl in my ears for a month or two and I'm saying a few years down the line... We're gonna be praising this like it's a treasure.
Dartz I disagree. It’s a great album, but as of right now I listen to about 2-3 songs and drift back to older and better tool. This album will fade. There’s some good stuff, but nothing over the moon spectacular.
Alex you still feel this way? Cause I did but now the whole album is so fucking fire. It grew on me even harder than the other ones without even trying. (I play tool songs on random). I’d still say my favorite album is 10,000 days but this one is special too.
Yes. Worth the wait, no question. I love this album for all the reasons you mentioned and more. I think what I’ve gathered from people who don’t like it is that Tool doesn’t have the same attitude as they did when they made the earlier albums. And that’s what they wanted. They prefer Maynard angry. Thing is, they’ve all grown as people. Marriage, fatherhood, other projects, interests have shifted along with priorities, and they’ve just changed over time, as we all do. And it shows in this album. It’s no longer an attitude of anger and aggression, but rather a maturity that I find with each progressing album, and FI peaks it. I’ve grown with Tool, especially over the past decade. I love it. I think it has some of their best work from all four of them. I rate it 7/7, just like I do for each other release, but all for different reasons.
@Matt S I rate them all very high, and I am a huge fan. Everyone has their personal preferences an opinions. I just happen to think that Fear Inoculum is considerably better than their past albums. :)
@@rutwickgangurde3247 Newsflash buddy, Adam Jones has been molesting the 3rd and 5th frets of the D strings until they wear thin on every Tool album. Doesn't make it 'rehashed', just because the licks are similar. The songs are constructed completely differently, progressing continuously rather than being broken down into distinct parts. The lyrics have an entirely different vibe, the production is cleaner than Lateralus and has more depth than 10K Days (which was mixed to have a good soundstage but didn't use it as a compositional tool much), Danny Carey's drumming is on another level, Maynard's voice is smoother and hangs around the instrumental melody in more conventional ways rather than clashing as it often did on Lateralus. This album is a whole new side to Tool in a lot of ways, with the riffing style being about the only constant, and even then there are a lot of solo passages that sound entirely new with overdubs and new effects and shit.
@@rutwickgangurde3247 I hardly jerked off onto my keyboard. I didn't even call it 'good'. I just pointed out all the ways it was different. How that puts me in the same league as the people who think all other music is worthless because it doesn't have the Fibonacci sequence or as many time signatures as Maynard has hairs on his head I'm not quite sure

This album is a masterpiece. Great review man.
Yeah... keep drinking that koolaid. Definitely average
Bleed Green Nation Listen to it more. I was very critical of the album at first, but the more I listened, the more I felt like a fucking idiot
@Bleed Green Nation Lateral us is a snore fest
@Bleed Green Nation Did my opinion trigger you snowflake?
The fact that Lateralus is better does not keep this from being a masterpiece.
My Tool album ranking:
5. Undertow
4. Ænima
3. 10,000 Days
2. Fear Inoculum
Aenema deserves to be second
Fear Inoculum just became Bungie's favorite album of all time...7ruth!
yeah well bungies a fuckin tool.
Great album. Honestly most albums this year have been disappointing. Tool delivered. I can't stop listening. Invincible is stuck in my head.
Brian Klecan okay
@@TheLatinlover9574 Okay..... Seriously what was the point of responding okay? Did you think he was speaking directly to you or something?
woke up this morning with it in my head - the guitar riff at the beginning...
Stop it
@Torvus Bog i feel like all the songs are great but like a lot of tool fans 7empest is my favorite.....jones guitar sound and riffs on that song are incredible!
I liked the album, I've listened to it 3 times thus far. And it grows on you a lot.
I still can't stop listening to it. It just keeps getting better
This album makes me really appreciate how good TOOL used to be.
CKN... This is literally the best review you have ever done. Fear Inoculum stands among the pantheon of greatest albums and displays of concept and musicianship ever recorded. Thank you for everything, brother.
Whatever you musicians have to say to justify art (boredom).
Pneuma's lyrics probably hit home more than anything else I've heard from Tool:
We are spirit bound to this flesh
We go round one foot nailed down
But bound to reach out and beyond this flesh
Become Pneuma
We are will and wonder
Bound to recall, remember
We are born of one breath, one word
We are all one spark, sun becoming
This is kind of pretentious those are among the corniest lyrics featured in a Tool song, and the song is just so boring you’re waiting the whole time for the tempo to pick up and it just ends. There are parts of this record that are “good” but they don’t even pale in comparison to everything the band did before. And every fan blows the “good” parts out of proportion x10.
Love your crazy impressions! :D Every song is a magic, transcendental story... Many listenings required.
I love this album. Pneuma is my favorite song. 7empset is great too. Well above average album.
CKN your reviews of all of their discography is definitely your Swan Song, Masterpiece, Magnum Opus. I have immensely enjoyed each & every moment. I’m glad you were able to do this & share with all of us. I just want to say Thank you for your time & commitment.
I fell asleep listing to this album let me tell you that I had never been in such a relaxing state of sleep and sound peace my body felt light and the noise in my head cause by my anxiety became silent as I felt the music flow through my body deeper and deeper I slept
I awoke feeling like I had been gone for days I felt incredibly rejuvenated with comfort in my own body and mind
Wow... literally woke up from that 20 mins ago never before sure it may not lateralus or enema but it damm well Donse not have to because its Tool and that is all that matters now if you will excuse me I have to go back and listen to it again
Lol falling asleep to an album isnt good, this ain't Asmr
I fell asleep too
@@VarsityAthlete04 I've fallen asleep to Tool many times... This isn't Metallica or Children of Bodom or some shit... There's many slow/trippy parts, its fine to fall asleep to it, doesn't mean you were bored, means you were relaxed and probably also tired...

As always, great review! I was 28 when 10,000 Days was released. I'm 41 now. Up from here!
Culling voices is the most underrated song on the album
Its a bloody masterpiece... The first time I listened to the album, I thought 7empest was my favorite song... After listening the album non-stop since its release... Culling voices is without a question my favorite song of this album
Saul Villarreal I’ve rotated my fav for the past 6 months lol
Haha
@Aaron Ceravolo I do think it's likely their weakest. But Tool at their weakest is better than many bands at their worst.
I got divorced in 2006 Lmao
Hell yeah bro
Lol
Bahaha I got married to my first one in 2006
Good year.
Thanks
I feel like this album is the love child of lateralus and 10,000 days. I love it!
My reactions to every new Tool album during the first 3 listens....
"wtf...?"
W...tf..."
"WTF!!!!!"
This one is no different. Absolutely brilliant.
So bad ass.
Its like every other tool album, different than the last. I like it now, I'll love it ten years from now.
its NOT though, its completely derivative of old songs and sounds so bland and uninspired
Adam Taves foh

Tool released Opiate on March 10 1992. They released Fear Inoculum on August 30 2019. That’s a total of 10,034 days.......
Jacob H you’re not quite doing the math right. They released 72826, technically their first release on 12-21-1991 and exactly 10,000 days after that is when the officially announced Fear Inoculum while on tour. So yeah, it ends up being about 10,034 days from 72826 to FI.
This is the best Fear Inoculum review I have watched. Good job Coverkillernation
Somehow there hasn't been a shit storm of people who were disappointed by the album
Grognak The Destroyer I think it’s by far their worst album. I don’t see any actual reviewers giving it a low score, because the fans will jump all over it. It’s a decent album, but a bad Tool album, imo.
@@Tero133 Same. That's exactly what I said in my review. Tool at their worst is better than most bands at their best.
@@Tero133 If only Maynard put a few screams on the album, I would like it much more.
@@Tero133 I don't know man i think it's really good. It's so layered the 80 minutes flies by. That is a good thing.
Hard to rank it in their discography at the moment but it’s definitely a solid 8/10 for me
I graduated high school in 2006
EliteWizard407 - same. Was 18 and now I’m 31. Crazy. lol.
Me too its insane so many things changed

Still onwards and upwards mate good luck and God speed for the future. I've always respected your reviews and opinions and while i haven't always agreed I've always found your stuff passionate and informed. Much more constant than other RUclipsrs.
it's a pretty damn good album.

Seeing them Oct 11 in Sacramento with Slipknot.........The EPIC show of 2019!!!!
Anyone saying his voice is going hasn't seen him live recently.
Very true
in philly they played swamp song and maynard fucking nailed it
Maynard doesn’t do a vocal warm up live, so the first 1/3 of the show he sounds like dog shit. I don’t blame him for this because he is getting old. I think his vocal style is changing from yelling his head off into a more soft yet powerful tone. Just my take
This to me is my favorite album from them. Every song I just love the beats n rythemns. It has a deep meaning for me
After many listen, it went from meh to masterpiece! Very unique. Best song is Descending, by far. I'm never tired of this album...
I was 6 man, got into them as a kid becuase of my dad it's still sort of surreal they actually have new music and it's damn good too
@Bleed Green Nation mate I'm 19, I have a house I pay tax, I have a job and am a musician. You don't really have any argument to discredit me
I must be missing something honestly.
This a terrific review. Far more insightful and interesting than the majority of reviews I've read.

*CAUTION - Mini Essay ahead*
I like the album but I question how many listens that professional reviewers gave this album before arriving at their 5 out of 5 reviews because it's effectively a double album at its running length of just under ninety minutes.
*4 out of 5*
hahaha you were giving me goosebumps when you started ramping up the dialogue about 7empest!!
Same as the last Alice In Chains, not good at first, but after 10 listens, through the roof🔥🔥🔥 Give it time if at first you dont like it.
ABSOLUTELY. The more I listen the more incredible this album becomes. Didnt care for Culling Voices when i first heard but then connection was made and it's one of my favs. Album is Perfect.
Pneuma's intro sounds a lot like Bleed The Freak
Totally agree. The production is stellar as well Bass and Drumming very much to the fore. Riff on Culling Voices is awesome.
For me it only got worse and I liked the first listen. Now I can't fully enjoy a single song anymore, the album sounds so underwhelming, uninspired and lazy to me now, I really wish it was the other way around.

Good to see you on light retirement, and tool albums have always been a journey you need to listen to them from start to finish
Since when does Scotty Kilmer give album reviews?
Nice comprehensive review. Let’s divide those days by a small prime number till the next album comes forth!
I’m going to go ahead and say this album is already album of the year.
This is the best album since ÁĒnima to me.
Æ > 10K > LAT = FI > UT

It was worth the wait. It's their best yet by far imo. It's everything I could have asked for and I am hard to please musically.
@Matt S I rate them all very high, and I am a huge fan. Everyone has their personal preferences an opinions. I just happen to think that Fear Inoculum is considerably better than their past albums. :)
7empest goes right into Vicarious and Invincible goes right into Jambi. look into it
A lot of stuff seems rehashed.
@@ChrisStoneinator Every Tool fan ever.
Thank you so much for this review. Keep your head up, my friend.
Even if this doesn't stand up to Aenima or Lateralus, I'm glad it exists.
Yes! This is exactly it!
It's for sure better then 10k days imo.
Faul McCarttney WELL i dont know about that...
@@faulmccarttney965 Agreed
RanterInShades I think it beats out Ænima after a shit ton of listening. It just can’t beat the king tho
