Hi Jess, love ur videos even if it’s not a tutorial ur so funny 😂 but u have taught me so much and still learning with u, haha. I’m messy as well clips everywhere but I do clean up after each project. But if I’m cooking I do clean while I’m cooking so I don’t have to do much after eating. So keep doing what u are doing we love u. Have a great day 😊
I love this kind of videos! You're so funny and real, no bs from you. About the bag I would suggest sewing the top of the exterior and the lining together and then match both bottoms to find the exterior top within the fold over. You can then top stitch the seam that connects the exterior with the lining and also top stitch the top fold. That way you have less bulk and a more straightforward construction.
I used to cut and tie the thread ends and pull through to thread my 1541 but really it’s easier to just thread it by hand and after you do it a few times you can do it so quick you will be amazed how fast it is to do. I can do it in like 15 seconds start to finish now without even thinking about it. I got my machine in July this year.
You can sew quilt cotton if you are sewing it onto something else that’s thicker like attaching it to tiny like for pocket facings and things. I’ve even sewn it after I interfaced it well with sf101 and then sewn a pocket with it. You just can’t sew two pieces of plain quilt cotton together unless you do some major tension adjustments which arent worth doing cuz you’re just going to have to adjust them back. I also have the needle positioner that came reinstalled and my needle stops in the down position and then I stomp down on the pedal to have the needle move up to a set position. It makes a big difference and is worth getting.
They are a huge advantage. Very easy to install, no grinding. As long as your servo motor accepts a NPS signal wire input. The dealer should know what you need. Keep those industrial machine videos coming please!
I use a simple overhand knot when retreading my Sailrite. One thing that it does I don’t know of your Juki does but when I use my knee lift it causes the bottom tension rings to open making the thread feed through much easier
Not sure if you have these things that I added to my Juki 1541s industrial that made sewing on it much more fun and easier. First I changed out to a skinny foot. I leave it on all the time. And I have a needle positioner so the needle always stops in the down position. I also purchased a needle plate that has the measurements on it to help with seam allowance. Also a drop down roller guide to also help with the seam allowances. And I installed smooth feed dogs that really helps in preventing scuffs and scraps on the vinyl and leather. All of these things really helped and I love sewing on my industrial. And lastly I switched out to a smaller pulley so it acts as a speed reducer and also helps with torque. Good luck!
If you are wanting to keep the original height of the bag, could you cut the lining to the original measurements and then add the additional needed height amount to the outside panels and double to the gusset?
Hey Jess - continue to be yourself. We love it!! Thank you for sharing... Quick Question... now that you have been using your industrial and I know you want the cylinder..if you did things over would you just buy the cylinder and the flat plate instead of your current machine?
Thanks for the thread cutter idea. I have the Juki 1181 and leave my snips attached, but I always forget to put them back on the magnet, and I am then pausing to look for them.🤦🏼♀️😂. As for the strip light I use the one from Madam Sews and it works great for lighting.👌🏻
Jess, I destroy my room between every project. 😂 I usually wait till the end to clean up. Clips are all over the floor along with scissors, rotary cutter, seam ripper and all the little trimmings and whatever else that fell off my table during the process. It looks like a tornado came through, every time. 😂
I have the same exact machine as you from Juki Junkies I bought like a year and half ago. I wonder if you have this as well. When you are done sewing…. I don’t have to turn the wheel to lift my needle. I Just press the front of my pedal and it lifts my needle for me.
@ I don't think that's what it is, mine aren't screwed down all the way. I do use my knee lift, but sometimes I'd like to be able to use the manual lift w/out breaking my hand.
I have to say because you speak so quickly with a slight muffled way of talking that might be why the lady thought you were drunk. It’s sad but after a short period of watching if you are talking really quickly I just give up
I love these kinds of videos where you figure things out as you go! Thanks for another great one!
Me too! It's always a learning process.
I loved the last video and you look gorgeous as always. Really enjoyed you sharing personal stuff and being real ❤
Aww thanks! I'm glad you liked the last one too!
I’m glad that you’re making friends with your industrial and trying new things!
Thank you!

Thank you so much! That means a lot!

I could watch you all day! Love your videos!

David from JUKI Junkies just came out with a Back to Basics video on this machine! Good stuff 😊
Love your videos!! Kept talking, im here to listen! ❤
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed it.
When I was having bobbin winding issues, tightening up the tension knob leading to the winder helped a lot.
Thank you! I’m giving that a try

Great video. I also have this machine, and, I’m still figuring it out
Make sure if you get a needle positioner that you can still turn the handwheel by hand.
Ooo I didn’t even consider that! Thank you

Yes you can still hand crank.
I have the same machine and I love ❤️ love it. TY for all the ideas
I ended up drawing arrows in one color for bobbin winding and another for matchine loading.
I clean after sewing and during cooking

I dream of a cylinder arm machine! But space is a problem for me too.

Nice machine but I would have thought that it would come with the needle down feature?

I have attached small scissors to a retractable ID holder with Velcro to my 1181. So far this has helped tremendously!
Yes! I’m always losing my snips too!

Yes! Same for me!
I love this - I really get hard on myself about the insanity that resides in my craft room.. but I’m just not that organized and neat - lol
Oh I make a big mess and clean after when sewing. I'm the same as you with baking/cooking... I try to contain the mess and wash dishes as I go along.
I just found that so strange! I’m pretty tidy but with sewing.. nope!
Oh my!! Someone like me! That's Intimidated by their Industrial machine!!! 😩 I never used mine and had it for like 3 years 😬
I completely feel your pain.
Hi Jess. Merry Christmas 🎄. Sandcastle designs. She has your machine. She has a video where she she sewing on cotton check it out.. 🤷

SiahSwagBags has fold over elastic and she color matches it to her threads!
Just put in an order! Thanks!
Where do you get your vinyl
I love your videos, you are so cute. But may I ask why you aren’t using your knee lift?
I have the same machine and my foot pressure release is so hard to use. How did you get it to just flip up and down so easily?
Could be your tension knob at the top is screwed down a bit too much. Plus, she’s using her knee lifter at the same time. Hope that helps

You should really go to a size 18 needle sewing anything that thin and definitely NOT QUILTING COTTON on this machine I have it.

I always watch the videos in 2x so I wouldn’t say Jess is hard to understand!
