'전 남편'이라고는 하지만 아내는 '전 아내(x)'라고 하지 않고 '전 부인'이라고 해요~!
빌리 씨! 다시 좀 찾아봤는데요, 조금 수정사항이 있어요.
'전 남편'이라고는 하지만 아내는 '전 아내'라고 잘 하지 않고 '전 부인'이라고 해요~!
'전 아내 ooo'처럼 누군가를 수식하는 용도로는 사용하는 거 같아요.
dude these videos are a game changer
i'm a few months in and I feel like Hanja is going to make learning new stuff so much easier
Yes! More hanja please! Hangul is amazing. And I love that hangul doesn’t need any help. But that hanja can just make things a bit more clear and spice up the aesthetics is fun and interesting!
한자 주세요!
I can give more fun examples. Try to guess their meanings:
전: 전선, 전주곡
후: 노후, 독후감
선(線): line
주(奏): perform (an instrument)
곡(曲): song
노([로]老): old
독(讀): read

training brazilian jiu-jitsu almost 8 years now, never thought i'd learn the Korean term for forward and backward breakfalls XD
Please, please do more of this type of lesson. It really helps in understanding and remembering words in Korean. And thank you for this lesson.
Interestingly enough, 후식 is very similar in German: Nachspeise (after-meal). As a German, generally see a lot of similarities between the German and Korean language. Both are known for creating composite nouns that can get really long. :D
Thanks for another one of these. I love it.
Love these lesson! These mini Hanja lessons and your verb comparison videos have been super helpful for learning new vocab and giving my listening/reading comprehension a much needed boost. Thank you!!!
Loved this content! I am really interested in these type of "compound words" (can we call them that?). Can't wait for more in the future!
thank you for making these videos billy! i've found that knowing the hanja behind words has been immensely helpful when learning new words since it provides more context and something else to hold on to when trying to memorize it, so please keep making videos like these :)
This hanja series is outstanding. Keep theses videos coming please!
There’s also a 25-year old (but still available) book _Handbook of Korean Vocabulary_ by Choo and O’Grady which is a collection of Chinese and Korean “roots” which make up Korean compound words.
The book is about two-thirds roots of Chinese origin and one-third those of Korean origin. It starts off with 가 (家) “house; specialist.” It’s actually very handy if you want fairly comprehensive list of _hanja_ as a go-to reference.
I also own that book, and it's pretty cool! :D
@@GoBillyKorean Yeah, it’s surprisingly cool and not hard at all to use. It’s pretty helpful for this area.
I find the hanja lessons so interesting and helpful :)
Yes pls make more of these videos! They’re super interesting and helpful :) 👍👍
More Hanja!! Please!! If you would, please take an extra second to show the order of the strokes. I know you are more focused on understanding and recognition rather than writing; however, us language nerds would really appreciate an extra two or three seconds of your time to show us how it's done.
I really enjoy studying with these kind of lessons thank you for doing them 선생님 감사합니다 🙏
전에 말한 것처럼, 전에 말했듯이 is what I remembered. Video was helpful as always✨
Love these videos. I have seen 전 남자 친구 and I recently learned the grammar ending 기 전에 and I also realize that 전 is a very popular word 😂. Billy 씨 감사합니다.
감사합니다, Billy 선생님^^
Thanks a lot . Very useful

Oh my it's the same characters and meaning in Japanese amd Chinese. Nice, welp gotta start Korean so that I could also connect Hanja ^-^
발음이 정말 좋으세요!!
ha, I was recently wondering how to say ex... something in Korean, very nice
여러분들의 한국어 실력은 빌리를 만나기 전과 후로 크게 달라질겁니다. 😁
Although I know that you're not a Chinese teacher, I am quite interested in knowing the hanjas at the general culture level and if they're still valid nowadays.
Thanks for your content 🙂
How are you writing?!?!?! Are you really writing a mirrored image from memory?!?!?!
