Well, you've convinced me. Been looking at your monitor reviews for a while now trying to decide what to upgrade to. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll just be multi-prawning over here :)
Awesome video, Prawn. Got two questions if you don't mind? Is it VESA compatible? The link you've provided to the monitor takes me to the White model, I can see there is a Slate/Grey/Dark colour option, but it changes the model number, is this different colour a different monitor altogether or just a different colour? I would much prefer this exact monitor you've reviewed but in a darker colour? Thanks, will check out some more of your videos! :D
Hello mate, I can confirm it is just the color mostly but please read everything. Because where I live it is the same screen but darker gray color is ultrawide and silver like color in the video here is not ultrawide but the screen and features are the same. So just read as much as you can so you can get the one you want. Good luck
I worked on it too. You get a lot of space side to side for snapping windows and working. The blue light mode also makes it excellent for working without hurting the eyes.
this just uses the same panel as the other 34inch QD-OLED monitors, but still good video, i prefer the alienware one as the control panel is way easier to use.
Yes, there's a bracket included in the box (it's also listed in the full specs www.philips.co.uk/c-p/34M2C8600_00/evnia-curved-gaming-monitor-qd-oled-gaming-monitor)
Is this the same as alienware in america? Seems like this isn't made in the states. Over here philips mostly sells low spec electronics- maybe it his better over there?
interesting, over here in switzerland philips is one of the top tier high end manufacturers whereas alienware is merely an overpriced gaming brand with low to mid tier build quality, owned by dell. I‘ve got two philips tvs and plenty of their hue smart home stuff and never had an issue with any of their products.
@@ka1sercsgo I do think maybe I have seen their hue stuff here but we rarely see any of their displays- when we would see them they were of the office variety, certainly not capable like this. Seems like a brand we just don't get exposed to anymore- least not in that market. The alienware displays are decent though they are just dells- I would certainly be happy to own the alienware oled monitor but I would also be happy to own any oled product tbh.
I own this monitor. Just be aware 21:9 isnt properly supported everywhere yet. Most films on prime will fully fit the screen but not all, Disney plus dosent support it at all currently. Can't speak for Netflix. In games again some do properly support 21:9 which frankly look amazing giving you that extra view of the world, really sucking you in. However, some straight up don't, giving you black bars either side. Other games sort of do, whereby the game will fit the screen but it's a stretched image giving a weirdo goldfish bowl effect at the edges. There are work arounds to some of these issues but they are not perfect solutions. Hopefully 21:9 will become more mainstream in time. Just go in fully aware prospective buyers. Other then that this screen is delicious. It's an oled so it's gonna be pretty good no matter what. The colours here particular stand out. It's a solid choice. I came from a curved 32" 16:9 Asus tuf gaming monitor which was frankly so bad I don't know how they got away with selling it, so the improvment was very impressive to me.
The sad thing about this monitor is that you can't use 10 bit color, 175Hz refresh rate and native resolution (3440x1440) all at the same time. If it had HDMI 2.1 instead of HDMI 2.0 it would have been possible because of the higher bandwidth. Real bummer :< Great video though!
Bruh what is with this obsession of making every OLED monitor 1440p. Some can be of course, but release more 4k options already. 1440p ultrawide at 175Hz isnt unique in the market in 2023 If this was much cheaper I'd be more forgiving, but its $1300. Thats absurd when an LG C2 at 42"-48" will be cheaper with better resolution and significantly better brighness and HDR Edit: Great review though, it's the product I take issue with

Ha ha 👍
appena acquistato a 850 euro !
Looks like I'm finally giving up on my old ultrasharp and again moving to philips, as it was my first 17" LCD about 20 years ago :D
i have 3 ultrawide monitors 2x60hz, 1x144hz, TFT and IPS panel. I was dreaming for one like this! cant wait for the delivery guy hahaha

I'm not sure. I don't recall. Perhaps it says so on their website

What's the ABL like on this? I've just got the 42M2N8900 and trying to multi-task with many windows makes brightness change constantly!
Is this screen matte or glossy?
How is the New Asus Rog Strix Z790-H?
Would be good to know how you found it for productivity if you tried. Thanks for the review.

@@TheProvokedPrawn you were ok with text clarity with the sub-pixel layout?
im lookin at getting this or the g8 which would u pick? both are 1200 atm
How is it doing? Do you still have it? I'm trying to decide between the Odyssey G8 and this one
I don't still have it. It was just a review sample. But I liked it

How is it comparing to other qdoled?
i am really liking and would buy but there is no vesa mount ?
there is. THere's a bracket in the box
Hi there, one thing I would like to know and I can't see anywhere is does it have a VESA mount? From the images it doesn't look like it, thanks.

Would you prefer the Philipps one ore the Alienware AW3423DW?
Probably. Since alienware costs a fortune
does it support g sync ?
It has freesync

Hint for more widescreen support, Google Flawless Widescreen
🤤 omg stunning
It really is
Don't you miss your old G9?
I'm still using it. This is just a review unit that has to go back.
4k 144hz OLED monitor or I dont care, suck we will have to wait a few years for them 😢
Rumours are circulating that a 32inch 4k OLED may be announced within two to three months.
with glossy finish not matte

use displayport instead
@@qweasdzxc It's DP 1.4 which also doesn't have enough bandwidth.
Incorrect.. It's 10 bit.
what about other oled monitors? Can they do it?
Dp 1.4 can do 10 bit 175hz
Well this is more expensive than my PC
QD OLED panels are expensive
😂 I have this monitor and it cost nearly the same as my pc 😂 but it's head and shoulders above my old Asus tuf monitor, that thing was trash.
Looking for large monitor and seriously hate all these ultrawide form.
Me too bro, was thinking about the neo g7 but dont know, would also like a good oled with 42inch, but no tv...

I hate to imagine how much they'd charge 😂
Such a nice monitor and he still didn't activate windows
haha, I do on my main machine, but I build a lot of PCs and activating Windows every time would be expensive.
it has matte screen, so it ruins clarity and deep colors :/
glossy screen
£1500 NO THX
QD OLED pricing
Turned off by 1440p.
lol why have 2 computers
Streamers might. But yes, a console and a pc might be a more logical combo. I don't have a console though 😂🤷♂️
@@TheProvokedPrawn why do streamers need 2 computers?
@@pillepolle3122 one to stream, another to run games or whatever heavy software their stream utilises.
