The way I see with Light No Fire is that Hello Games had one of the biggest blunders in gaming history but also had the greatest comeback. I do not doubt that hello games has learned a lot from NMS, I got faith in them now. Definitely a game I want to follow and pick up in the future
Edit: for ever one who talk doodoo about me saying I'm dumb for wanting to buy a game early. I'm firm believer of waiting for games to release then purchase them. But I've decided I'm gonna pre-order it because it's my damn money amd I'm very petty 🍑💨

And on top of the experience gained so far, they also have a lot more resources to back it up. We should not preorder any game anymore, including those from Hello Games, but that said, I have faith that this is not gonna flop hard

I wasn't as angry as others with NMS, but it was still disappointing when I had it and put it into my console. But, I'd respect it if when they show the gameplay trailer, if it doesn't match up to the reveal trailer they say something like "yeah it's a WIP, but the reveal is our goal". That's way different than pre-rendered "planets" and then saying "Yeah this is just one example of the QUINTILLION BILLION MILLION". But I think they learned their lesson.

@@Shadow__133 People forget to mention that Kingdom Come Deliverance is similar to a simulation game.
For example. Combat seems to suck because your character does everything slow and has no stamina.
After the prologue when you settle down, you can learn from someone combat every morning and if you do that for few in-game days then you will fight properly like other soldiers due to proficiency of cardio, strength, choice of weapon etc.
Now take that and apply to shooting a bow, cooking, alchemy and other things you can train in that game. It's basically what heavily modded Immersive Skyrim wanted to be.

No Man's Sky mediocre starting state was down to them being rushed, I imagine. They were probably getting to the point that they really needed cash flow to keep the studio afloat; a big part of that is probably due to them losing pretty much everything in a flood at one point, more or less leaving them to start from scratch. They followed through in the end, expanding the game.
At this point they're probably pretty stable financially, so they can fully flesh out Light No Fire before releasing it. It'll probably get big updates too, over several years, but I anticipate that its features and gameplay at launch will be very good.

@@KevvoLightswift haha that’s a fair point, but I’d like to think and maybe naively so, that when devs like hello games and cd projekt red with cyberpunk, see a horrible launch window then worked their butts off to right the wrongs, then they deserve the benefit of the doubt for their next release. In contrast devs like BioWare after anthem deserve to go backwards and have to make an incredible indie to be able to get back to making AAA games. I’m being overly optimistic lol

I love your guys videos and watch them alllll the time! Just a little thought tho, would you guys consider adding that title tag that you play after the number of each game at the end too? It’s a nice intro to each game and says the current release time so I often try ss it if I like the game, but I don’t know if I like the game until after you have talked about it and therefore have to rewind back to that intro clip each time.
If you guys added that game title and release date tag at the end of each game it would save so much time.
    Thanks :))

I followed no mans sky before and far after release, very closely. I’ve always ‘created’ what I thought were amazing game ideas in my head since I was a kid. When no mans sky was announced, it inspired this thinking in me again. I thought to myself… why didn’t they just make a singular world that can be easily filled with beautiful landscape, character and community. I am excited to see what they accomplish.

Watching the Game Awards we were all talking about how the NMS devs had probably learned their lesson and Light No Fire would be awesome, and then the dev started talking about how insanely ridiculously advanced and innovative it would be and instantly *everyone* went "oh, nope, they haven't learned." It'll probably be good in several years though, and I'm really looking forward to when that happens!

At first, I was only moderately excited about Light No Fire, which I think was their intention. They know better than any studio how important it is to under promise and over deliver. But after really thinking about it over this past week, I dont see how this game could be anything less than absolutely revolutionary. They're taking everything they've learned from No Man's Sky and putting it on ONE huge multiplayer planet. People are going to build tribes, factions, cities, and even countries when given enough time. There will be an entire earth to explore with massively varied and interconnected biomes, hundreds if not thousands of different species of fauna and flora. Think about how dense and full of content No Man's Sky has become, now squish all that work and effort into one carefully crafted planet that you can build on and explore by yourself or in communities. It's going to be unlike anything we've ever experienced.

My most anticipated fantasy game is definitely Crimson Desert and Project Muggen. I love the art style and anime vibes of Project Muggen. It's like Genshin Impact without the gatcha elements (hopefully). And of course Crimson Desert looks phenomenal. I never got into BDO but hopefully Crimson Desert will be good. They could maybe even add co-op down the line as a DLC. I'm sure that would be popular but I would be glad for another single player open world fantasy RPG. It has Witcher vibes and I like all the RPG elements like you can even have pet cats and stuff.

I love the premise of taking a well-established genre and adding one major new thing to it. I am a game developer and this is how we move the media and the genres forward. Warren Spector, creator of Deus Ex, calls it the Importance of the One New Thing, that your game doesn’t need to be completely new from scratch.
In a recent video I made I talked about remakes and how even they can add important ideas to already established game franchises.

Sun Wukong is the Monkey King, detailed in a Chinese novel from the 16th century and a popular character in Chinese folklore. NinjaTheory's Journey to the West is inspired by that story, but there the Forbidden Kingdom with Jackie Chan, as one interpretation of the character.
