RWBY may not be perfect but its not as bad as most people say. At the end of every Volume I always walked away entertained and the show as a whole carries a good message. A majority of the reviews, those that actually employ constructive criticism, have a positive outlook on the show.
Just FYI the Red trailer was animated all by one man: Monty Oum. An absolute LEGEND in animated fight scenes.
Also the singer? She's just 13 years old at this point. THIRTEEN!!!

Monty Oum (the creator of this series, R.I.P.) was a MASTER of fight choreography. He used to have this series called Dead Fantasy which basically put Dead or Alive characters against Final Fantasy characters, and you can see the fight choreography talent there.
Haloid is where he really came to people's attention. that shit was EVERYWHERE back in the day.

I really miss his work man you could see the amateur skills when it came to animating and the budget showing through it as well but when the fights happened thats when you really saw his strength in fight choreography,

My friend got me into RWBY this year. I went into it thinking it was gonna be mid since I heard people trashing on it on RUclips, but I was really surprised how much I enjoyed it and now I’m a huge fan of the show. Honestly it’s really sick and the story is pretty good. As well, the animation for the fight scenes just gets better and better for each volume. I reccomend it and hope whenever you watch it you’ll enjoy it!
I actually had my friend go through the same thing. She heard the worst from the worst about Rwby and by the end we finished volume 8, she was a crying ingested mess lmao.
I don't know if I'd agree that fights get better each volume exactly... Especially with parts of volume 3 and volumes 4 and 5, even more especially 5, while animation as a whole did get better, fight choreography took a bit of a dip... Not to say the fights were necessarily bad and each volume usually arguably has at least one pretty well executed fight sequence... Some of it is personal preference too... Volumes 6 and 7 I do think improve though... 8 has some cool stuff, but I don't know if I'd class it as improving... Haven't gotten around to volume 9 yet...
But yeah, either way, even if they can be a bit inconsistent, there's so much to love in the show... So many cool little things put in the background for later, including in the soundtrack... Even if you don't vibe with every character, most of them are pretty charming and interesting... The world is really intriguing... At least I think so... It's certainly worth a try, in my opinion... Despite its issues, it's still one of my favourite shows.
But nobody is trashing it.
@@KitsyXagreed, after Monty's passing RWBY's choreography and story lost some of it's soul, I mean there are still good moments and bad moments in each volume, but I for the most part enjoy it, I am worried about how the story will go from volume 10 onward as Monty planed the story out to Volume 9, Volume 10 will be the first (probably entirely) written by other writers
@@WingManFang1if you look hard enough you can find people trashing mainly the story (in particular volume 5) but I mean I still enjoy it and I will see RWBY until the end as tribute to Monty
I love Rwby and I understand that it isn’t perfect, but it’s still incredibly enjoyable. Just don’t interact with the fan base, they will completely diverge at a certain point and just become a cesspool of hate lol.
It can depend on where and how you interact... But yeah, there is a weird mix and the extremes can get intense... I love the show, but obviously there are issues with it too... Still, I kinda find the divergence interesting too... It's a bit like the Sonic the Hedgehog fanbase, except not as furry lol.

Right? When I first started watching it I loved it. I had no clue of the toxicity within the fan base until like the 6th volume. Now I try to avoid it because I don’t need people to tell me that the show isn’t good anymore after a certain point because that’s bull. Yes everything isn’t perfect and I see it but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. If you have something negative to say for the sole purpose of bashing someone just keep it to yourself. 🙄

Not unpopular, rwby has always been good beginning to end it just changed a little overtime and people hate change. Either way it didn’t really effect the story which is still good so far
@cinema6848 It's not because it "changed a little", it was because the plot stopped making sense and the characters started making decisions that make no sense for what they'd been trained for (and that some were just common sense decisions that they for some reason couldn't contemplate)
Edit: Basically it went from a really thought provoking show into just another action show that you have to watch without thinking too deeply
@@shanajeangedeon9060 I know, and though that does happen like I meant by little it really isn’t that Jurassic. I can name 3 instances or 4 to where it’s genuinely unbearable to the audiences but again it doesn’t really effect the main story.
Also that’s not mostly what the casual fans are mad about, they’re more upset rwby is more story and lore focused then combat and comedy focused.
@@shanajeangedeon9060 also I’m not sure what you mean by “just another show” because you apparently don’t have to think much..that was always rwby. It had a simple formula of fun, problem, fixing problem, problem solved, fun and then repeat. There was lore that made the story interesting but it wasn’t that deep. If it seems deeper that’s because it was still introducing us to the world of remnant and later on we already know a lot.
@@cinemaphar The second half of Volume 8 and the ENTIRETY of Volume 9 was unbearable, so it definitely HAS affected the story. There were some questionable decisions on the writers part in Volume 4 & 5 that were the real start of it, but the story is definitely absolutely fucked after those 2.

RWBY is an anime style web series. Animation is a bit janky but it’s a fun series to watch regardless.
If you plan on watching this I’d recommend watching multiple episodes similar to your Adventure time reations
Aye the animation can be a bit janky in the beginning. But the fights were never janky. Monty was a master fight choreographer. Alas he passed away during the production of volume 3 and the fights did drop in quality for a while as they lost that something that Monty had. But they found their feet again later. Alas they still lack that Monty touch but they no longer feel like they’re emulating Monty’s style and have found their own.

I never imagined you checking out rwby but I am not complaining! It has its ups and it's downs but ultimately I think you'll have a good time if you decide to watch it. 😁 fun fact: every character in the show is inspired by a fairytale character, a myth, legends etc. It's fun to figure out who is who. Also the music is full of absolute BANGERS

for years, think this is the first time I've ever seen anyone have Black as their favourite, even if it was temporarily.
Also White had a RAPIÈRE and it hurt to hear it called a basic sword. They are so cool man, come on💔
Really fun, intelligent reaction, and you caught some clues that many miss, even if you don't have context for them yet. :D These four trailers are sort of a prologue -- the events are considered part of the overall story, stuff that really happened, but mainly give you some hints about what each of the four girls was up to and was capable of before Episode 1. But these fine young ladies (White, Black and Yellow are 17 and Red is 15, at the start) have got nine volumes (seasons) of story twists and character growth ahead of them.
If you're ready for a ride, buckle up and enjoy on your own time; and if you want to react to it on camera, you will definitely have a lot of RWBY's fandom willing to buckle up alongside you on the roller coaster!
The RWBY soundtrack contains some of my favorite tracks of all time. The show is worth reacting to for the music alone. It's pretty common for the ruby fandom to "force" reactors to react to each season's soundtrack after finishing the respective season. Absolute bangers.

-RWBY is a good series in my opinion. It’s true the animation is a little wonky in the beginning, but it seriously gets better with each season. The story is interesting, and the world the show builds is unique. Whether or not a person likes or dislikes the show, majority agree the music and fight choreography slaps, and that I agree with. It’s worth at least checking out if you can get past the first couple seasons animation.
The one thing you really need to know about this show is that, with very few exceptions, *everything* is also a gun

To this day the white trailer is still my favorite of the original four 🙂. Always nice seeing how new viewers react to the series. Also I remember during the early seasons one of the jokes about the show was that every weapon was also a gun😅.

Definitely recommend watching this show. Personally one of my favorites!! The first trailers are so good and the music and fighting only get better.
Little to know about the show, spoiler free of course: The show is about the 4 girls from the trailers wanting to become huntresses. Licensed heroes who fight monsters called grim, (The wolfs that "Red" fights for example) and any other jobs they may be needed for. Colors are a very important theme for the first few seasons.
And yes, almost every weapon in the show, is also a gun. "Red's," also known as Ruby, weapon being a scythe that is also a sniper.
Every character in the show is based off a fairytale, folklore, or something like that. The obvious one being that Ruby is based off Red Riding Hood. See if you can guess the others.
The show started out has a small project for the company Rooster teeth so the first couple seasons don't have the....best animation due to having a low budget but it honestly isn't even that big of a deal. And the way they use what they can more than makes up for it. And it only gets better with each season. Due to this the first two seasons have what the fandom calls "shadow people" background characters that are just silhouettes so that the animators didn't have to focus on too many characters outside the main cast. (Some of the shadow people are also the models of main characters)
And you are semi right about the powers. In this show everyone has a power called a semblance. Again the obvious one being from the "White" Trailer. With her using glyphs. Her name is Weiss. I won't say anything else cause I don't want to spoil anything but I will say that they just finished volume 9 and you are in for a ride if you continue reacting to RWBY.
Here's a quick (spoiler free) synopsis of the show; if you want to watch it. Four exceptional teenage girls enroll in an elite academy that trains exceptional people to fight the monsters and villains of this world. All aided by a mysterious power called 'DUST'.

In the black trailer Adam said to set the charges, Blake asked what about the crew, Adam asked what about them.
Then Blake left detaching the front of the train where the crew is from where Adam wanted to plant bombs.
This shows she did not approve of blowing up the crew of the train.
Idk if id stick around for the whole series reactions, but i would love to see more reactions to the music or openings (some are pretty great)

I’d think a lot of people would like this series plus it’s not done yet either they just finished up the latest volume and there’s a lot of episodes to enjoy while catching up
I’m about two seasons behind on RWBY, and I think that’s where the fandom may have had a big split, but I LOVE this show. Banger music, banger world, banger animation, banger emotional beats. There’s some hits and some misses, obviously, but it’s such a fun ride.

If you do watch the series the characters are based off of fairy tales, historical figures, plays and etc. You can try to guess who connects to what as you progress through the series.
The Red Trailer turns 10 years old this year. Still holds up, IMHO.
One day a videogame animator named Monty Oum had the thought.....what if Little Red Riding Hood was a cute anime girl who slays werewolves? And thus the Red Trailer came to be.
Whats even better, all this came about by ACCIDENT.
Monty just HAPPENED to be taking a tour of the Rooster Teeth offices while Burnie Burns was in the middle of working on an effects shot for the Red Vs Blue season 7 finale. He just HAPPENED to glance at the computer that had the shot open, with postit notes stuck around the screen detailing how they planned to do the shot. Monty took one look at the screen and at the notes and told them "I could do this easier, and better".
he did the shot for them uncredited, they hired him on fully to do a bunch of action scenes for season 8. turned FULL control of the production over to him for season 9, then made him an offer. If he did season 10 for them, they would give him full financial support to make whatever show he wanted.
That show, ofcourse, became RWBY.
The season 10 finale of RvB ended with the surprise premiere of the Red trailer.

It wasn't created by Rooster Teeth (at least initially) it was a private project of Monty Oum, who Rooster Teeth hired and allowed him to also work on this. For more examples of his work before his was hired, look up Dead Fantasy and Haloid.
Ruby (Red as he was calling her) has a high-speed power and her weapon is Crescent Rose, a scythe/sniper rifle hybrid. The grave at the beginning is for her mother...
Weiss (White) has what are called glyphs that can do different things depending on what kind of effect she wants. Her weapon is Myrtenaster, a rapier with a revolving cylinder to change elements as needed. The fight in the trailer was the 'test' from her father to let her go to the school of her choice, she was never supposed to be able to win it.
Blake (Black) has a clone/distraction power and her weapon is Gambol Shroud, a cleaver/sword/pistol/chain sickle weapon. She herself is what's known as a Faunus, a person who has animal features.
Yang (Yellow) is Ruby's half-sister (two years younger, same father), her power allows her to store power as the fight drags on, then when actually activated increases her already impressive power. Her weapon is Ember Celica, a pair of shotgun gauntlets. The person she's looking for is her mother who ran off when she was a baby, and don't EVER touch her hair if you want to keep your teeth.
Weiss's rapier has elemental charges from what I can tell. A slot storing each element that she can use to enchant her blade with once. And yes, Yang is effin awesome, though I also want Ruby's gun scythe. xD
one of the most inventive thing Monty did with RWBY was using gun recoil as a melee weapon and maneuver assist. And the Crescent Rose (The red scythe) is one of my favorite weapons from anything. second only to the TR-116 transporter assist sniper rifle from Deep Space 9.
Also, I don't know how far you got into Red Vs Blue but if you didn't get far I would highly suggest it as a series. You get to see where RWBY came from and if you stick with it, it ends up being one of the best sci-fi action dramedy shows around.
Also, another thing about RvB, the people that did the RWBY music also did the music there. its not till later you really get to see their work (aside from the score) but lots of fire tracks.

The red trailer was essentially the after-credits scene of an RvB season at the time. No one saw it coming. It was the proof-of-concept done by the series creator to pitch to RT management. We're up to 9 seasons now. From season 1-3 the animations and quality get better and better and then with season 4 there's a huge revamp. A lot of reactors react to the openings, but I'd say avoid that because there are some spoilers. It'll certainly look janky at first and not at all what you'd call an anime, but, well... let me put it this way: it got a Japanese dub and a spinoff series done by a traditional anime studio in Japan.
I just love pointing that out because it turns the whole "dubbed vs subbed" argument on its head

You are correct about a number of things, but one thing in particular - the trailers were super hype. I was on the RWBY hype train way back when the trailers were first coming out. And by the time the Yellow trailer released, the hype was palpable. I have my own feelings about the series, but the trailers? Couldn't say that there's a single thing wrong with them. Well, outside of the voice acting when it's actually there - Weiss's singing notwithstanding. But outside of that, I wouldn't change much about them at all. The music, the super high-contrast art style, the fight choreography - it's all great.

R: Ruby Rose. Weapon: Crescent Rose, a sniper scythe.
W: Weiss Schnee. Weapon: Myrtenaster, a rapier with a revolver cylinder. Each chamber contains a substance that gives her Semblance (magic powers) elemental properties.
B: Blake Belladonna. Weapon: Gambol Shroud, a pistol attached to a sword and a ribbon allowing it to be flung around in such a way. The weapon's sheathe is also sharp enough to be used a blade on its own, allowing her to dual wield.
Y: Yang Xiao-Long. Weapon: Ember Celica, a pair of shotgun gauntlets.

To answer some question (I don’t know if you found out or not) but they aren’t all sisters, Ruby and yang are the only sisters in the group. I am glad to see some appreciation for RWBY though, I feel like not many people know about it. Their names are Ruby(red), Weiss(white), blake(black), and yang(yellow) btw :)

I really disagree -- too many spoilers about character paths, if he's going to be watching the show, either on his own or in reaction videos. Might be a fun ride for someone who's never going to watch the series, especially if they like to try to connect the dots of the openings into their own absurd version of the show, but the story that takes place within the walls of our cozy magical-girl demon-hunter school doesn't need premature embellishment. :)

That my man, is a scythe, which is also a "customizeable high impact snyper rifle". Words of the weapons designer, Ruby herself. The weapon in question is called Crescent Rose.
As for all the weapons:
They're conduits for the powersource that most thing in their world use, that they refer to by the name "dust". It has many variants, hence why Ruby also had a special sign on the side of the magazine she equipped mid-fight, it had a different type of bullet/dust than the normal one she uses, that resulted in much higher speed when she used the weapon's recoil.
Weiss's rapier: The Myrtenaster. It has 8 dust cartridges built in, so she can swap the added functionality easily. For example: Fire dust: explosive increase in the kinetic power the weapon can unleash (as seen when she deflected the huge claymore), ice dust: grows ice crystals, to restric the opponent's movement, or form a sort of barricade, gravity dust: allows her to stick to surfaces she'd normally not be able to (when she jumped on the claymore and stuck to it), etcetera.
Blake's gunblade: The Gambol Shroud. A "standard handgun" with a really big recoil. It has a blade attached to it, and a sharpened sheath that the blade is usually in, that can be used as a 2nd separate weapon in it's own right. (She literally cut the train's connection without unseathing her weapon at all. She used the sharpened seath.)There's also a long rather sturdy ribbon attached to it, that can be used in multiple ways. 1.: swing someone around while holding it, 2.: hook it on the weapon, and fire it while it's midair after being thrown. Probably the least weird one in the bunch. Just grab a gun, and attach stuff to it.
I'm more surprised that you called her a catgirl. "She wears a... ribbon."
Yang's shotgun gauntlets: The Ember Celica. As Yang was also a student at Signal academy, like Ruby, she designed her own weapon. They support her preference regarding a close range fight, and high mobility. As she can store up the "damage" she takes during a fight to unleash as her own power, so long as she's not incapacitated, close quarters combat really is her forte, hence why she learned martial arts from their dad. More so than Ruby, she sucks at it. Her gauntlets have built in shotguns with huge recoil, this means she can use them to propel herself in a specific direction while midair, or during a fight, just by firing in the opposite direction. This can help enhance her elbow strikes by quite an amount as well, when needed..
In terms of characters, my personal favourite is Yang, but when it comes to weapons, Ruby's Crescent Rose takes the win by a landslide. Even principal Ozpin, who lived for thousands of years, refered to it as "one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed".
Also, at 17:58 the best (or at least, my favourite) song that Jeff Williams ever wrote starts. Called "I Burn".
I'm actually surprised! Not many reactors notice how Blake was disapointed on Adam's disdain for human life and because of that she left him at the end of the trailer. Mayority of reactors just tends to be hypnotyzed by Adam's coolness, but the story is what is important here, this 4 trailers are actually canon prequels to the series, what happened in this trailer is mentioned later in the series and are important to the story. Again, very surprised how you notice this important detail, i may want to see you react to the whole series too.

Welp, no surprise there, Scoot is definitely a Yang man. Scoot, if you actually watch the series, I guarantee your viewership alone will skyrocket.

2. Weiss is best girl
3. Prepare for lots and lots of pain
4. Mess with Ren, and you get the hammer
5. Mess with Jaune, and you get your legs broken
6. Zwei is best boy
7. Don’t get between Blake and her fish

Fr rwby season 1&2 are iconic but rough visually, 3 is intense, 4-5 are pretty slow and then everything after is fire.
YANG, my beloved. I think with how much you love Rainbow Dash, you are going to LOVE her just as much.
