@@sqxbarto9229 Yep. She was 12 for the Red Trailer. The White, Black, and Yellow ones were made a bit later so she was 13-14. When Volume 1 was picked up and she started singing for it she'd turned 14.
The thing I love about the RWBY soundtrack is that 97% of the songs are sung by the same girl and her father. Also fun fact, Casey Lee Williams was 12 when RWBY first started
I mean, it depends what you mean... When the show started airing, she would have been 14, I believe... However, she may have been 12 when they started working on these trailers and early production for the show... She may have been 12 when recording these songs... Still, whether 12, 13 or 14, she still did a great job.
@@KitsyX Ya its a common misconception, because she was 14 when the show came out, but people seem to think that show production takes 2 weeks, and not years, especially animated shows with low crew numbers. However, the first trailer came out in late 2012, making her 13 when the trailer released, and it would have been recorded well before that, so 12 is a much better guess, and much more impressive.
The first trailer was made entirely by one man, Monty Oum, in his spare time after work hours. It was essentially a proof of concept that got the show greenlit. The show would increase in budget each Volume, but unfortunately Monty passed away during the production of Volume 3. So it took awhile for the team to really find their own style and start making consistently badass fight scenes again. I think they really hit their stride again in Volume 6. Also, Monty co-wrote (and co-directed) the show with Miles and Kerry, who are still on the team. They mapped out a rough outline of the entire show before it began airing, so they were able to keep Monty's vision largely in tact. But they left themselves plenty of wiggle room in the story to add new ideas.
The shows suffered from bad/inconsistent writing in the later volumes and from studio controversy. The fight scenes while mostly still enjoyable haven't been able match what Monty could do. It's why I refer to the first 3 volumes as peak RWBY.
@@alannorris3819 Ive been watching since season 3, every season every time a year part (with vol 9 being the only exception) and held the same opinion up until very recently Heres my take, they have NEVER, in not 1 season or scene since he passed, been able to replicate monty oums genius choreography period, and i dont think they ever will he was a special man and we can only imagine where the show would be now with him. BUT, specifically volume 7-9 i think the writing, animation, story and character development has never been better, and heres my explination for everyone possibly reading this: Animation and real development undeniably, story is questionable they still as they always have make baffling story decisions and moments of awful writing but for the most part as a whole i think its only gotten better. Recently for the first time i rewatched everything back to back instead of waiting between seasons and it was a different experience, all my old criticisms of part 2 (vol 4-6) stayed pretty much intact it was an absolute mess in every sense except animation (which wasnt that hard to top so i dont give them that much credit) but they really hit their stride around 7-9 and felt a lot more like they knew what they were doing and building towards, baffling moments aside not denying there ares till moments like that in 7-9 but as a whole i think theyve gotten to a level real close to 1-3. i could go into much more detail but as a comment this is enough just sharing my thoughts. RIP the goat of 3d fight choreography a decade later he's still not been matched, has been and will be forever missed
Casey's father wrote the show's music for years, but she took over for the latest volume, and the forseeable future. You can hear how powerful her voice becomes as she grows up, if you listen to the albums in order. You caught the inspiration for the characters pretty quick; people only have trouble identifying Blake. She abandoned Adam because he didn't care about the lives of the crew; he's her Beast. Monty was the creator, coreographer, and director of the show. He made the first pair of trailers by himself, as proof of concept. Rooster Teeth picked it up, hence the voice acting, extra characters and plot hints in the second pair. (Even the bird flying over Yang as she approaches the club is important.) Despite the tight budget for the first volume, it performed well enough to make the money flow, and soon became RT's new big hit. Unfortunately, Monty passed away between volumes two and three, and the show has suffered for it, not just the coreography. I have been legitimately angry for the sake of the characters on more than one occasion, in recent years. Regardless, I'm invested, and will see it to the end. You wouldn't be the first musician to get sucked into reacting to the show itself... you'll have to watch it to learn how everyone can do the crazy things they do. That said, I'd suggest you actively avoid spoilers, because people can be dumdums. And there's probably still a minority of the fandom that can be a bit... rabid? There was a fanmade game that RT threw some money at, called Grimm Eclipse; It gets old fast. There are other games, but I think they're all for the phone? And some RWBY characters have made appearances in one beat-em-up game or another. Personally, I'll stick to Platinum Games' The Legend of Korra; it's also repetitive, but it has more heart. And, of course, bending.
Team RWBY was in BlazBlue: Cross Tag which was a fighting game which I thought was pretty cool but yeah all the other games have been lower budget affairs. I wish Platinum, Capcom, or Team Ninja could have made a RWBY action game.
Obligatory roosterteeth allows you to watch all their content without blurring or using an overlay, you can also straight up fullscreen it unblurred and they don't make copyright claims or strike your videos. They've been pretty open about allowing reaction videos in the past, just thought I'd let you know so you have less editing to do!
All the main characters throughout the 9 seasons/volumes of the series are inspired by both fictional and literary characters. You got most of the ones from the trailer here: 1. Ruby Rose - Little Red Riding Hood 2. Weiss Schnee - Snow White 3. Blake Belladonna - Beauty and the Beast 4. Yang Xiao Long - Goldilocks Besides Disney characters the Wizard of OZ plays a big role in the inspiration as well.
Well, it's more fairy tale characters than Disney... I'm not sure Disney had a Goldilocks... I do think they had little Red Riding Hood in something though...
@@KitsyX True since every fairy tale cartoon/movie Disney has created has been based off a story from some ethnic part of the world. I just use the 'Disney' characters to differentiate from literary ones. Of course that goes out the window as well with RWBY by their using GRIMM (Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales) etc...
It's an amalgamation of every fable, fairy tale and mythos from practically every culture. *Semi spoiler with some speculation* The Brothers Grimm left their original world through a portal and created Remnant. Then they left Remnant and I speculate from there they made another portal and created Earth. Removing the magic and the power from their creations this time so they can't use it against them. This would follow the progression that The Ever After = Remnants fairy tales and that Remnant = our fairy tales.
I love that the enemies that each of the girls fights match the stories as well: 1. Ruby Rose - Little Red Riding Hood - the wolves 2. Weiss Schnee - Snow White - the suit represents the huntsman sent to retrieve her heart 3. Blake Belladonna - Beauty and the Beast - the animated robots represent the enchanted furniture 4. Yang Xiao Long - Goldilocks - the three bears and the two girls that Yang fights wear red and blue/white to represent too hot and too cold
Jeff Williams, the guitarist and player of many of the additional instruments is/was a professor at Berklee School of music. I think he just recently retired. His daughter did and currently does the vocals for the Rooster Teeths RWBY series. The animation also progresses as the Volume's (instead of seasons) and the music just keeps getting better and better.
A brief (spoiler free) synopsis of the show. Four exceptional teenage girls enroll in an elite academy that trains exceptional people to fight the monsters and villains of their world. All aided by a mysterious power called 'DUST'.
This said, potentially big spoilers for volume 3 if he watches past the third opening... Amongst other possible spoilers later if he's paying attention... It's not too bad to watch them as they first appear in the show, but watch the volume 4 opening and there's at least one pretty obvious spoiler there... Amongst other things...
@@KitsyXIt’s not that big of a deal. Other reactors have watched all the openings and are still surprised. They don’t know what to look for and forget a lot of it.
It started off as somewhat Indie... But partly due to RWBY's success they became somewhat professional... Comparing this to more recent stuff from the show is pretty crazy... Arguably the fight choreography takes a dip a few volumes/seasons in, because the creator of the show (and also the main fight animator) sadly died, then the style changed a bit... Some like it, some hate it... But either way, I love the show and think it's really interesting and appreciate all the love that was put into it... Lots of cool fairy tale themes, mixed with a Final Fantasy type world.... All sorts of fun stuff... It has been a bit divisive in how it has handled some things... Still, while flawed, I think it's totally worth watching, if for the soundtrack alone lol... In the least you should check out the music... This said, the music works better in conjunction with the show (because they refer to story and sometimes leitmotifs become songs and some songs become leitmotifs).., plus some songs are arguably potential spoilers if watched too early, given that the songs are often story related... Some lyric videos might also use fan art that could be potential spoilers... But Mostly this won't be a massive problem.... If someone requests that you check out the openings, be aware that after the third opening you might come across reasonably big spoilers in maybe two or three of them... It also might be cooler to check out the longer audio versions of the opening songs anyway ^_^; The anime is kinda a spin-off... I haven't seen it all yet, so I'm not totally sure how good it is, although what I've seen looked pretty cool... But anyway, I think it mostly takes place between seasons 1 and 2.... But the first 3 or so episodes are like a short version of season one... Just with some added bits to tie into the anime's story... Actually I think it shows some extra story too... Like it covers the fight in the White trailer, which isn't mentioned in the main show... Plus a little extra for Yang too...But you may want to watch the main show first either way.
@@-cactus.raven-It's on RT......in both Japanese (with subs) and English dubs. And in my opinion, well worth watching!! But, not if you haven't seen the first two volumes of the original series.
Waits its on RT now!! last i checked it wasnt on there. Tho this was before the latest season when i was rewatching the whole series as a refresher@@lorenzoteague8445 EDIT: apparently you need their membership thing, bummer
And if there were to be any issues all it takes is contacting their support team to get it fixed. Since I've seen some not knowing to do this and think about not reacting due to any issues, when all it would take is contacting RT about it.
I highly recommend watching the rest of this show! It's one of my favorites of all time. It is pretty indie, Rooster Teeth is a relatively small company (it was much smaller when the show started out), and the show's budget was all but nonexistent at first. As it grew in popularity, so did its budget, and you can see massive increases in quality every volume. I think everyone else has given the rundown in the comments about Monty and his amazing talent, as well as his passing. Just don't let people color your opinions right out the gate. A lot of folks love to voice negativity about this show instead of just letting people experience and enjoy it naturally. One thing I will say is that this show lends itself very, very well to music lovers. Monty choreographed his animations to work with and flow like the music. Jeff Williams provided music and score for the first 8 volumes with his daughter Casey providing vocals (she was 12 when recording the first trailers), and then Casey took over for volume 9 on. Every volume has a soundtrack of amazing face-melting character-driven songs that really add to the viewing experience.
Have you heard of Jonathan Young? He's an independent musician with tons of great Metal songs on RUclips. I just discovered him a couple weeks ago, and his original album "Starship Velociraptor" is my new favorite thing in the universe!! I think it would be right up your alley, too!
In the Black trailer Blake didn't like the idea of blowing up the crew of the train, she turned her head away at that idea right before the big robot interrupted. That is why she left at the end by separating the train car that was going to be exploded from the front of the train that has the crew. Blake is the hardest to identify the fairytale influence, some of the key clues are fairly early in the show.
Ohh, RWBY is my favorite series. And I've seen a few videos of you, so i think this show could be of your liking. Not only for the music, which has a lot of cool stuff, but for the characters. My opinion tho lol
Oooh, here we go. Ok, so. This show is amazing. Absolutely stellar, if you’re interested. That said, it gets a lot of hate for reasons I don’t understand, so if someone tries to tell you it’s garbage, ignore them and check it out for yourself. Fun little fact about these trailers, they are all cannon events that happen prior to the first episode, and a referenced during the show. Another fun fact, each and every major character (and most of the minor characters as well) is based off of/inspired by a fairy tale, legend, myth, or historical figure, and in the case of a fairy tale, we don’t mean Disney, we mean brothers Grim fairy tale. You absolutely nailed it with white, she is Snow White. You can actually hear her name in the beginning of the trailer if you pay attention, which is Weiss Schnee, which I believe is German for white snow. Red I’ll tell you, she’s little red riding hood, and the others you can have fun figuring out yourself. That’s about all I’ll say here, if you do check out the show, I’ll share more where it’s relevant in the comment sections of those videos. One last thing though, be careful around the fandom. They can be pretty extreme, wether that’s toxicity or worshipping the show like it’s the second coming of Christ. We’re also not always the best with spoilers, so do be careful in the comments section if you decide to check the show out. Oh yeah, almost forgot, Rooster Teeth, the company that made RWBY, is actually really good with reactions, 9 times out of 10 you won’t need to censor anything. I’m not sure if that’s still the case, but it should be
May be best to warn him listen to the openings rather than watch them if he doesn't want spoilers past volume 3 though... But then it might be better for him to check out the extended versions of the opening songs anyway... I dunno...
Animation got better, than worse, than better again, but the story just got worse as time went on. Also the fights have very rarely lived up to the first 3 volumes, but that's not really anyone's fault considering how fuckin talented Monty was.
Rooster Teeth... Well they were a smaller company though in the last few years they've been bought up by Warner Media so. That's a thing. RWBY (pronounced 'Ruby' though 'Red, White, Black, Yellow' or just 'R.W.B.Y' is also fine) you are correct in that it started out very indie (became Rooster Teeth's biggest money maker though). I think I remember reading once a quote from one of the main writers saying something like "RWBY's initial budget was half a pack of chewing gum" or around $3 US so um yeah. Actual show in the early volumes there's a TON of little cost saving things like the episodes being tiny, certain animations etc. Still really, really good though
One of the things that impresses me is the way the music is an integral part of the story. A lot of the characters have leitmotifs. But the most amazing usage was the Pyrrha statue. If you ever want to trigger a rwby fan, say those two words. Pyrrha had her leitmotif since season 1, but there were never any lyrics. Then, at a critical moment in season _6_ they give us the lyrics for the first time, in Casey's haunting voice; and it is one of the most powerful cinematic moments I have ever seen.
Heads up for any future RWBY reactions you may do, you don't need to censor or cover anything or cut anything during reactions. Roosterteeth is a big advocate for reactions to the show, you shouldn't receive any strikes and if you do you can reach out to them for it to be removed. Also if you do decide to watch the whole show, the first couple of Volumes(Seasons) are full of really short episodes so you can watch in bulk to make a full length video. Volume 1 is only like 2 hours long.
If there's one thing Monty Oum understood more than anything else it's fight choreography. In the early volumes (1-3) when it was still a low budget production and the software package used really couldn't keep up with what they wanted to do, the realism and creativity of the fights really carried the day. Unfortunately Monty died during the production of Volume 3 (complications due to an allergic reaction to an anesthesia used during a routine surgery), so he never got to utilize the increased budget and newer software packages - and the fights suffered for the next several volumes due to his absence.
- while the White, Black, and Yellow trailers are canon to the show, the Red is only semi-canon (due to being the proof of concept). I like to think the Red trailer was a dream Ruby had. 🙂 - Not so much _Disney_ classics, as much as classic fairy tales. Other characters in the show are inspired by historic figures, mythological characters, characters from books/movies, and even some pop culture bits. - in case you didn't catch it, Weiss is remembering the fight as she's singing. - there has been 1 or 2 PC games based on RWBY, and a few mobile games - 90% of weapons you see in the show have both a gun form and a melee weapon form. - most of the music in the Yellow trailer are 'dance remixes' of the songs from the first 3. Yang's theme (or at least a dance mix version of it) starts when Junior walks out with his rocket launcher.
Great reaction! RWBY is one of my favorite all time shows. True American Anime. It has some of the most unique character and personality of any show I've ever seen!!
Fav character: Yang (though I love them all and Blake is prob 2nd place) As for Ice Queendom, the anime: it's fine as basically an OVA series to go alongside the main one. Doesn't surpass it or replace it, but a fun side story for it. Casey the singer for the soundtrack is amazing and if you think this is good, just wait to if you ever get to their more current stuff from the newer volumes (series doesn't use "seasons" but "volumes"). Them and their dad are amazing with the soundtracks, along with the rest of the crew that work on them ofc. The show is great, it has its flaws as every show will; but if you enjoy badass complex females at the center stage and a more progressive lean then I'd give it a shot.
Blake: What about the crew members? Adam: what about them? That's why she left....she disconnected the Engine car, sparing the crew and getting herself away from Adam to start a new life.
Every Volume have own music album that ppl should listen on the end of volume. They talking about what characters thinking, feeling and what is going on in world so I guess reaction on RWBY series and albums could be interesting.
As a BIG NOTE for you. Roosterteeth never forbid anyone to react RWBY (films and songs)and they have been known well never copyright strike anyone, SO you don't need to blurring or using an overlay for their contents. Everyone already know this. Just like MIHOYO.
And another join the ride. There is 9 season of content and 5 seasons of side content, to see. And if you just want to focus on being a musical channel, you can always just listen to each season (volume) OST and try determining the story from there. There will always be watchers to comment you the actual context between each video.
I know this is waaaaaay late, but yeah, love that you caught it early that it starts with Red Riding hood, then moves to Snow White, Beauty and the Beast then Goldilocks. They're not based on the Disney versions though, but the original Brothers Grimm take. As for fav character... oof. I love Ruby's whole personality and her weapon, but Yang's fighting style and attitude just gets me hyped every time. Interesting thing not many people notice. The train from the Black trailer belongs to Weiss's family (from the white trailer) you can tell from the snowflake emblem on the crates, it's the same as the one on Weiss's clothes and behind her on the stage wall. Blake separated from Adam there because early when they mentioned setting up the charges (explosives) on the train she asked about the crew and he just responded "What about them?" she didn't want to join him in carelessly murdering people... so like the words in the intro to the black trailer she's separating from him to find her own path. For Yang's music you hear the songs of the previous three remixed in, then a remix of her own song (I Burn) once Junior shoots the rockets at her. The two girls she fights were actually the original concepts for Ruby (Red) and Weiss (White).
A couple fun facts of world building. The black werewolf like things are juveniles, and Weiss was made to fight that armor by her dad as an impossible challenge he though she'd back down from.
People have talked about the fairy tale motifs for each of the characters. Ruby is Little Red Riding Hood, Weiss is Snow White, Blake is Beauty and the Beast, Yang is Goldilocks. I just wanted to add that their names are also color inspired. It might seem obvious for Ruby (red), Weiss (white) if you know german, but Blake is black in old english and Yang is yellow in chinese. If you end up watching the show (or have already started), they explain in story that people are named after or based on colors for historical reasons. It's an interesting bit of worldbuilding.
Would love to see your opinion of the Openings of volumes 1-9! Also im sure someone has said it but, Blake(Black)[ is a Beauty and the Beast.] Yang(Yellow)[ is Goldielocks ]
every important character in this series is based of different heros/legends from the books and old stories you should watch the 9 openings if you are not going to watch the whole story and every ost is also a piece of lore for the characters
I can only recommend the show, which has the exact energy of these trailers, at least for the first 3 seasons. If you enjoyed the fights and the musics in those, then you'll most definitely enjoy your time. It's a pretty short serie, especially the first season so you wouldn't spend too much time on it. Furthermore if you want to post reactions to it, know that Rooster Teeth is actually totally fine with posting full and unedited reactions on RUclips.
Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Goldilocks. The first trailer was made by Monty Ohm on his own, as a way to convince Rooster Teeth to pick up the project. The subsequent trailers get more refined as they go because Rooster Teeth decided to do it and started giving him a budget.
love that yellow has remixes of the other song. also that yellow is goldilocks and the three bears. the dj has a beat head. the badguys name is Junior as in baby bear. also I Burn at the end is my favorite of the songs.
Actually I uploaded it (as a private vid) without the filter and got claimed 😅 I wasn't expecting to be copyright claimed because of the video scenes but I did, so I had to use the filter and re-upload it.
@@Jhulian_R There is the occasional claim but most of the time there shouldnt be one. And its usually resolved fast. You mightve just gotten unlucky lol
Well, more grimm's fairytales then disney. Ruby = Red Riding Hood, Weiss = Snow White, Blake = Beauty and the Beast, Yang = Goldilocks. My favorite is Yang, personally. She's pretty fun and badass. Also I love how her trailer remixes all the other girls songs, before becoming hers. I love her gauntlets along with Ruby's scythe. All the weapon designs are pretty awesome to. And if you notice, each trailer the moon becomes more and more destroyed and fragmented.
I love RWBY, and its music especially. Unfortunately there's a bit of controversy over whether the show continued to be good or not after its primary creator (Monty Oum( tragically passed away. The people who continued heading the show literally helped create the show's world with him and were the actual writer and director while Monty was still with us, but folks like to use them as scapegoats for things they don't like about the show's direction. That caveat aside, it's not a perfect show. It definitely started indie and grew from there. The couple of years after losing Monty did result in shakier production (along with some behind-the-scenes funding shenanigans we found out about later). BUT, the show is still very good in my opinion, and is worth watching, especially to be able to listen to and fully understand the context of its music. It's not a particularly long series; despite being nine Volumes (Seasons), each Volume is roughly the length of a short to a long movie (I think it's gotten a little over three hours a Volume lately), so it's not like an actual TV series or even an anime series in its length.
_" ...but folks like to use them as scapegoats for things they don't like about the show's direction."_ No scapegoating involved; supposedly Monty left notes, but no actual scripting/plotting. Therefore, *they are the ones in charge now;* it's their responsibility for the show's rep, good and bad.
I love this series. Great mythos and world building. They put a lot of love into it. The songs throughout the series are fantastic. Definitely worth a watch. Ruby's (Red) has Yang's (Yellow) weapons are my favorite from the trailers.
The music throughout the series is amazing. While I would recommend watching the whole series, you can check out all the opening theme songs, each volume has a different one, though they do contain some spoilers as each is a reflection of events from that season. I would also suggest a few Music based animes, Fuuka, K-on, Bocchi the Rock.
It started off as Indie but Rooster Teeth is now part of Warner Bros Discovery. So it's technically not indie anymore even though RT is run mostly independently. If you watch the show, listen to the soundtracks after each volume, they were written for the show by Jeff and Casey and give important character insights. If you plan on watching the show do not watch the openings by themselves first as the openings contain major spoilers. The fight scenes were almost entirely animated by the show's creator Monty Oum until his untimely passing after volume 3. So animation changes a bit starting with volume 4. Volume 4 also sees a considerable change in art style as production changed the 3d software used to make the show.
The first fight in the Yellow trailer against Junior's goons is very loosely inspired by the Tarantino film Kill Bill, specifically The Bride vs. the Crazy 88's.
The late great Monty Oum captured motion and momentum in a way I still have not seen to this day, from the recoil of the shooting to the foot planting and follow through, with software that wasn't even designed for this. R.I.P. legend
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but the reason Blake left Adam behind because he was going to let the crew of the train die in the explosion from the bomb he set up. When he is setting up the bomb, Blake asks Adam "what about the crew", and he answers "what about them", showing that he had no intention of warning or saving the crew of the train. She didn't betray him, she just couldn't work with him any more after that.
Blake in the Black Trailer escaped an abuser which was her mentor Adam (guy with red hair). And RWBY has 9 volumes released so it's come really far and the animation has improved immensely since they changed engines. Since Volume 4 they switched over to Maya to model their characters and environments.
Actually I uploaded it (as a private vid) without the filter and got claimed 😅 I wasn't expecting to be copyright claimed because of the video but I did, so I had to use the filter and re-upload it.
@@Jhulian_R When that happens, it's because of the YT algorithm. You just have to contact RT and they'll clear it. They've actually got a page on the RT website just for occasions like that. If someone tries to claim it, it's likely not them. It's normally someone being a troll. Rooster Teeth started with YT videos and consider ones reacting to it to be a good advertisement for the series. Unfortunately, for the last season Warner Bros, who now owns RT, has put it behind a pay wall on Crunchy Roll, so reactors are having more difficulty than normal. All of the series was free on the RT website, and still are, up until volume 9. It stinks that a big business comes in and ruins things for people, but that's what happened. Enjoy the series.
New subscriber here! If you like Monty Oums fighting choreography I highly recommend reacting to his "Dead Fantasy" series! It only has 6 parts because he sadly passed away but it relies heavily on music to tell the story of what's happening and I just find it so fun to watch and think you would enjoy it too! The fighting choreography is out of this world, especially for its time.
So 2 rules with the world of RWBY 1. Every weapon is also a gun 2. All the characters are based of fairytale, mythological, or story characters with 1 character based of a historical figure
With RWBY you don't have to worry about editing or blurring the show. Rooster Teeth was a YT based animation company, starting with Red vs Blue, so they appreciate reactors and prefer that their show not be cut or edited. They consider it to be a good advertisement for encouraging people to watch their series. Remember, when she mentioned that she was worried about the crew members of the train, he clearly didn't care. So, she saved the crew members from him and left him because that's not how she wants to be. RWBY is an anime and Japan made a spin-off anime series for it. It's actually quite good. Sadly the music isn't by Jeff Williams and Casey. One of the things you'll find is that, even though some may criticize the animation and acting of the series, the music is always considered to be top-notch. I hope you do watch the series and enjoy it.
RWBY is really interesting because the concept, character, story, and almost all the major action animation was done by Monty Oum who was a veritable prodigy. Hes so good at fitting motion into rhythm and creating dynamic poses and creatively using the characters available resources to create some of the most incredible action scenes ever put to film and i'm not kidding. unfortunately he's not much of a writer so he handed the actual writing of the show off to the guys who wrote Red vs Blue. and since Red vs Blue has very little actual story in it... those guys did not do a fabulous job. There's this really phenomenally incredible stuff buried in so, so much crap. so youve got this amazing concept with some of the coolest characters and action sequences ever made but unfortunately the rest of the show is just Not Very Good ((before anyone comes at me I am a rwby fan i love it i just cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone without prewarning them that though it can be worth it, most of the show is Bad, Actually)
Red(Ruby Rose)=Little Red Riding Hood White(Wiess Schnee)=Snow White Black(Blake Belladonna)=Beauty and the Beast Yellow(Yang Shao Long)=Goldie Locks And they are based on Fairy Tale characters Disney's movies are based on those Fairy Tale stories. So they aren't based on Disney characters they are based on the Fairy Tale characters the Disney Movies are based on. Disney doesn't own Fairy Tale characters just their versions of them, Fairy Tale characters are Public Domain so anyone can create stories and movies based on them.
RWBY Songs are bangers.. you'll definitely love it even you didn't watch the show.. but you'll understand the lyrics and the meaning of the songs better if you watch the show 😂

So much wiggle room
The shows suffered from bad/inconsistent writing in the later volumes and from studio controversy. The fight scenes while mostly still enjoyable haven't been able match what Monty could do. It's why I refer to the first 3 volumes as peak RWBY.
@@alannorris3819 Ive been watching since season 3, every season every time a year part (with vol 9 being the only exception) and held the same opinion up until very recently
Heres my take, they have NEVER, in not 1 season or scene since he passed, been able to replicate monty oums genius choreography period, and i dont think they ever will he was a special man and we can only imagine where the show would be now with him. RIP the goat of 3d fight choreography a decade later he's still not been matched, has been and will be forever missed
rwby after mounty died did go down f hill rest in peace mounty you are missed@@alannorris3819
@@alannorris3819 Atkeast the soundtrack is still amazing later on lol.
Actually Blake is both Beauty, and the Beast. But yes, you could also say that Adam is the Beast.
These are so nostalgic!
The main vocalist, Casey, is now in a prog metal band called Ok Goodnight!
Just what I was about to say!
Unfortunately, CrunchyRoll now say no :(
Not only is the series worth reacting to but each season's soundtrack actually builds the lore of the show too.
All the main characters throughout the 9 seasons/volumes of the series are inspired by both fictional and literary characters. You got most of the ones from the trailer here:
1. Ruby Rose - Little Red Riding Hood
2. Weiss Schnee - Snow White
3. Blake Belladonna - Beauty and the Beast
4. Yang Xiao Long - Goldilocks
Besides Disney characters the Wizard of OZ plays a big role in the inspiration as well.
@@kenschortgenjr7540 Exactly. Monty practically spelled out what his inspiration was when he called the monsters "GRIMM".
It's an amalgamation of every fable, fairy tale and mythos from practically every culture.
*Semi spoiler with some speculation*
The Brothers Grimm left their original world through a portal and created Remnant. Then they left Remnant and I speculate from there they made another portal and created Earth. Removing the magic and the power from their creations this time so they can't use it against them. This would follow the progression that The Ever After = Remnants fairy tales and that Remnant = our fairy tales.
I love that the enemies that each of the girls fights match the stories as well:
1. Ruby Rose - Little Red Riding Hood - the wolves
2. Weiss Schnee - Snow White - the suit represents the huntsman sent to retrieve her heart
3. Blake Belladonna - Beauty and the Beast - the animated robots represent the enchanted furniture
Absolutely recommend you check this show out, or at the very least, check out all the intros for the seasons as they are really good!
A brief (spoiler free) synopsis of the show. Four exceptional teenage girls enroll in an elite academy that trains exceptional people to fight the monsters and villains of their world. All aided by a mysterious power called 'DUST'.
Would be awesome if you could react to all the openings. They're really good and you'll get to see the progression from 10 years ago till now.
This said, the music works better in conjunction with the show (because they refer to story and sometimes leitmotifs become songs and some songs become leitmotifs).., plus some songs are arguably potential spoilers if watched too early, given that the songs are often story related... Some lyric videos might also use fan art that could be potential spoilers... But Mostly this won't be a massive problem.... If someone requests that you check out the openings, be aware that after the third opening you might come across reasonably big spoilers in maybe two or three of them... It also might be cooler to check out the longer audio versions of the opening songs anyway ^_^;
The anime is kinda a spin-off...
I haven’t seen the anime yet,, Crunchyroll right? Or have they put it on rooster teeth yet?
@@-cactus.raven-It's on RT......in both Japanese (with subs) and English dubs. And in my opinion, well worth watching!! But, not if you haven't seen the first two volumes of the original series.

Now you know you have to listen to Red Like Roses Part 2 :)
The company behind RWBY is very okay with reaction videos so there's no need for censorship of the clips!! :)
And if there were to be any issues all it takes is contacting their support team to get it fixed. Since I've seen some not knowing to do this and think about not reacting due to any issues, when all it would take is contacting RT about it.
RWBY is amazing i love it so much
I highly recommend watching the rest of this show!
Very fun series to watch, and after each volume another collection of OST songs that are related to the story.
Weiss is my favorite character in the show. Out of all the characters, I loved her development and story the most.
Yes, me too
Have you heard of Jonathan Young?
I need to rewatch this show
Oooh, here we go.
I’m not sure if that’s still the case, but it should be
Pretty much everything said here lol.
This. Listen to this. And ignore the hate.
I think it’d interesting to see you react to the opening of each season too. The music in those is just as good, each opening has a different song.
Blake is my favorite! Really nice to see you reacting to some RWBY though. It's too good to pass up
Ironically, while Blake was my favourite of the team, Yang was my LEAST favourite... and now both characters are DEAD and only Bumblebee EXIST!!!!!
cant wait until i make you listen to their openings
May be best to warn him listen to the openings rather than watch them if he doesn't want spoilers past volume 3 though... But then it might be better for him to check out the extended versions of the opening songs anyway... I dunno...
I absolutely love this series! And the music!!! I hope you do more reactions! :) ❤
First rule of RWBY; everything is a gun.
Rwby is a show that gets ALOT of shit but is still one of the best examples of shows that gets better as it goes on. i highly recommend it
The writing goes all over the place at times, as well as the pacing but the last time I saw it it was nice. Haven’t seen the newest season yet tho
Animation got better, than worse, than better again, but the story just got worse as time went on.
Also the fights have very rarely lived up to the first 3 volumes, but that's not really anyone's fault considering how fuckin talented Monty was.
@@Spark412 I still think the fights are good tho
@@s_oba Not as good as they were when Monty was alive!!!!!
@@Spark412 we miss him
Rooster Teeth...
Volume 1 is only like 2 hours long.
for those of us that love RWBY it looks like he has a Nukalavee on his poster on his door. love the reaction
I think you’d love to check out the Openings, they absolutely rock!
Man the rwby ost is top teir
hope youll watch the entire show!
- while the White, Black, and Yellow trailers are canon to the show, the Red is only semi-canon (due to being the proof of concept). I like to think the Red trailer was a dream Ruby had. 🙂
- Not so much _Disney_ classics, as much as classic fairy tales. Other characters in the show are inspired by historic figures, mythological characters, characters from books/movies, and even some pop culture bits.
- in case you didn't catch it, Weiss is remembering the fight as she's singing.
- there has been 1 or 2 PC games based on RWBY, and a few mobile games
- 90% of weapons you see in the show have both a gun form and a melee weapon form.
Dude I love seeing your reactions to the RWBY trailers. Pure gold.
First reactor I’ve seen that points out the fact that the yellow trailer combines all previous trailers songs into a sweet club mix 😊
Fav character: Yang (though I love them all and Blake is prob 2nd place)
As for Ice Queendom, the anime: it's fine as basically an OVA series to go alongside the main one.
19:55 First he points out that she's underage, then agrees to making out with her.
Funny enough, there actually is an evil creature in the show that kind of looks like that poster you have on your door
I don't remember Disney making a Little Red Riding Hood or Goldilocks films/shows.
Even if you don’t wanna do reactions you should definitely give the series a chance
Also im sure someone has said it but,
Blake(Black)[ is a Beauty and the Beast.]
Yang(Yellow)[ is Goldielocks ]
every important character in this series is based of different heros/legends from the books and old stories
you should watch the 9 openings if you are not going to watch the whole story and every ost is also a piece of lore for the characters
I can only recommend the show, which has the exact energy of these trailers, at least for the first 3 seasons. If you enjoyed the fights and the musics in those, then you'll most definitely enjoy your time. It's a pretty short serie, especially the first season so you wouldn't spend too much time on it. Furthermore if you want to post reactions to it, know that Rooster Teeth is actually totally fine with posting full and unedited reactions on RUclips.
dude,. in over 20 reaction you are the first one to notice the scar !!! great !!!
Ah, yes. Jeff Williams love of chromatics😂
shit goes stupid.
uhm my all time favorite ?!!! WEISS !!!!!!!
but have to say Ren
Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Goldilocks.
The first trailer was made by Monty Ohm on his own, as a way to convince Rooster Teeth to pick up the project. The subsequent trailers get more refined as they go because Rooster Teeth decided to do it and started giving him a budget.
love that yellow has remixes of the other song. also that yellow is goldilocks and the three bears. the dj has a beat head. the badguys name is Junior as in baby bear. also I Burn at the end is my favorite of the songs.
Has never seen the show - also Jhulian - Has a major S4 Spoiler on his fucking door!!!!!!
FYI you dont need a filter on RWBY they're really good about people reacting to it. So no need to put a filter or edit it.
You really should check out the openings, they don't spoil much and its amazing to see the progression of them. Oh and there is nine of them now.
Blake was based on Belle from Beauty and the beast. Her name is Blake Belladona and the guy is Adam, which was the prince's name.
Blake in the Black Trailer escaped an abuser which was her mentor Adam (guy with red hair). And RWBY has 9 volumes released so it's come really far and the animation has improved immensely since they changed engines. Since Volume 4 they switched over to Maya to model their characters and environments.
Ruby: Red Riding Hood
Weiss: Snow White
Blake: Belle/The Beast
Guy in Blake's trailer: The Cursed Rose/Gaston
Yang: Goldilocks/The Beast
RWBY is amazing
I love the music
Ah, you don't need the filter. Rooster Teeth is on your side with that. Except for vol. 9.
Excellent soundtracks BTW.
Jump down the rabbit hole. 🐇

You should definitely check out the show. It's so good!
I loved your "Little Dread Riding Hood" comment so much, I liked the video.
So 2 rules with the world of RWBY
1. Every weapon is also a gun
2. All the characters are based of fairytale, mythological, or story characters with 1 character based of a historical figure
RWBY is Amazing!
M'friend, let me be amongst the first to welcome you to the FNDM. This series has so much more good music for you to enjoy -- definitely worth a look!
Listen to "Red like Roses II" and "Caffeine" ....they are the early highlights (but then again i never hated any ost of RWBY)
There's this really phenomenally incredible stuff buried in so, so much crap.
so youve got this amazing concept with some of the coolest characters and action sequences ever made but unfortunately the rest of the show is just Not Very Good
((before anyone comes at me I am a rwby fan i love it i just cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone without prewarning them that though it can be worth it, most of the show is Bad, Actually)
Jhulian you beautiful man, your videos are amazing keep it up man
It’d be awesome to see more RWBY stuff, that would amazing
Welcome to rwby where every weapon... is also a gun.
Also fav character is Weiss or white.
Weiss has always been my favorite.
You should do some of the Fate series openings
Weiss Schnee is my fav character (white)
Red(Ruby Rose)=Little Red Riding Hood
White(Wiess Schnee)=Snow White
Black(Blake Belladonna)=Beauty and the Beast
Yellow(Yang Shao Long)=Goldie Locks
And they are based on Fairy Tale characters Disney's movies are based on those Fairy Tale stories. So they aren't based on Disney characters they are based on the Fairy Tale characters the Disney Movies are based on. Disney doesn't own Fairy Tale characters just their versions of them, Fairy Tale characters are Public Domain so anyone can create stories and movies based on them.
RWBY Songs are bangers.. you'll definitely love it even you didn't watch the show.. but you'll understand the lyrics and the meaning of the songs better if you watch the show 😂
Blake and ruby are my favs
aye its my girl Ruby
You don't have to censor rwby videos :D
