so glad you guys kept up with rwby and making your own decisions instead of just listening to the random hate people like to throw around for some reason. genuinely such a good addition to this community, yall are awesome.
What is it the haters are saying? This volume was fucking awesome! Like its noticible that they focus less on the physics of fighting and... Chill character development but holy damn, this was a blast!
@@Celestia282 I;m sure the God if Light would've known something was wrong, probably less manipulation from Salem, and we would've seen the God of Darkness and Light argument early.
@@kitty3999watching this again I realize they both was immature kids. More God of light than anything. This all started because he wouldn’t bring back Ozma yet brings him back anyway after all the nonsense and basically ruined the world for mankind by making her immortal. Childish
@@kitty3999 the way I interpret their interaction, if she had gone to destruction first, light would have held to their "agreement" or whatever and let his brother do what he wants. sure the balance would have been disrupted, but he could have found some other way to correct it. the only reason he stopped destruction this time is because he gave her an answer and she tried to get around that by playing the to against each other like a child going to a different parent hoping for a different answer.
Fun fact: the Apathy were among some of the first Grimm ever designed, but were held back since they're so powerful they couldn't be defeated so early on
Wasn´t it also that they couldn´t figure out how to use them? Like how to include them in the story thematically without them being just a throwaway monster
@@JBasilixyeah because Apathy’s abilities take a while to come into effect along with them being of a horde type enemy (weak individuals, but come in large numbers) , so you’d need to have our heroes be trapped in a single location for awhile where they can’t immediately clock the Apathy legion from them to act as a threat
Just a little note to point out that the Grimm reaper fight does in fact last exactly 60 seconds before the stopwatch goes off. Just a nice little detail that I think should be appreciated
Apparently it was because they had a narrow budget for combat that episode, both in cash and time, so they said it was one minute tops for Maria to fight the assassins. Which inspired the semblance and design for Tock, based on the Peter Pan Crocodile!
2:45:48 if u notice every time Blake gets flashes he’s in his new outfit so that’s actually him but Yang it’s his old look so they are just ptsd flashes
I'm just going to say how happy I am to finally see a reaction where they notice what the gods said about lifting Salem's curse. Every other reaction I've seen they go down the same rabbit hole of "Maybe someone who isn't Oz can beat her." and not the "Her curse will break when she learns her lesson."
But the question is, will she learn her lesson? It’s been implied in the community that she’s doubling down on her actions. Does she truly believe that ending the world will finally take away her immortality, only and I mean the only Way I can see her learning her lesson it is somehow she puts on the crown
@@hasincobb7376 Regarding the doubling down, I don't imagine she's doing it mainly to try and lift her curse, but to spite the gods and Ozma (and lifting her curse would be a nice extra, IF it occurred). Which would further feed into her not having learned her lesson, because her initial attempts against them were acts of spite, as described by Jinn And as such, if/when the gods are brought back - whether by the Relic aspect or otherwise - I imagine it would ultimately lead to her curse being lifted, and then just killed, if the RWBY crew can persuade them/they realize this. Because if someone's not going to learn their lesson anyway, better to just rid yourself of them one way or the other
@@Omegafire17 I could very easily imagine the Dark god coming back, taking one look around, seeing the Grimm under her control, and not having any of it. 1:16:32 My personal theory (which hasn't, as far as I recall, been corroborated or jossed yet) is that Salem wants to bring the four Relics together to summon the Gods in a suicide by god with planet-sized collateral.
That's been my thought as well. What other reason could she have for wanting to sow chaos and division while also wanting to call the gods back for judgement day? She just wants to finally rest.
So a couple of fun facts about the fight scenes: 1. The fight scene flashback between Maria and Tock ( British crocodile lady) lasts for EXACTLY 60 seconds. (The fight was originally going to be longer but crwby were only allowed 60 seconds so utilised that to their advantage) 2. The fight choreography in the scene between Adam and Yang is actually recycled animation from Monty that was originally going to be in v3 but got cut.
V1-5 have their strengths and charm (and V3 remains one of my favorites), but V6 was the first one that felt “complete” to me and made me want to recommend this show wholeheartedly. It is just so balanced - the fights, the lore, the breathing room to take a ‘detour’ horror arc, the characters, being able to weave together development and big moments (like Ruby coming into her own as a hero and Blake/Yang’s fight with Adam being both a great fight and great narrative catharsis for their individual and shared character arcs). Glad you all liked it and went in with such an open mind. I think Cinder/Neo, Maria/Tock and Blake&Yang/Adam are some of my favorite fights in the show. The weird internet hate for this show is so crazy, bc as someone who also discovered this show late into its tenure, I couldn’t believe there was this cool gem of an indie webtoon that had such charm, ambition and clear love put into it. Especially with the state of animation right now - what an amazing thing that this show exists. You’re all a breath of fresh air on the internet.
3:14:45 Don't forget, she was shooting the coastline and causing the town to shake, which caused the civilians to start panicking. And that's *_AFTER_* she broadcasted on an open channel that she was going to teach "everyone" about Atlas' superiority. They likely didn't hear QRWBYORNJ's comms, so all they know is that the scary pint-sized Atlesian zealot has pulled out the massive "Nuke Everything" mech, ranted about teaching them to respect her, before exploding the coast.
Not to mention she was shooting at an Atlas airship and this is roughly a year after someone highjacked Atlas tech to launch an attack of another nation so people are now worried that it's another Fall of Beacon situation
@@declanmckenna6854 Lmao, especially since they seem to have made a movie on the Fall of Beacon as well and it's currently airing (based on the poster outside the theatre) so that's probably keeping it fresh in the public consciousness too
I gotta say, the Black Sun vs BMBLB debate is one that I got so tired of. And the fact that it is probably gonna come back (even after you-know-what season and episode) is SO frustrating to me. Just let the arguing die!
Great reactions, looking forwards to your next one! ≈) Re: Monty's notes: CRWBY had previously stated that Monty had general story beats plotted out as far as Volume 12, although he also had a tendancy to include new concepts and ideas (e.g. the _Maidens_ (!)) on very short notice. The only thing they truly had to abandon was the Volume 2 stinger, because he didn't actually leave any notes on that and they had no idea where he was planning to go with it. Everything else is still following at least the borad strokes of Monty's vision. Also: "Indomitable", the song playing during Ruby's silver-eyeing of the Leviathon, is actually about Monty. Y'all haven't done any soundtrack reviews here, but it'd be worth going back and listening to it for some insight on how CRWBY still feels about him. Side note: Pyrrha, Achilles' pseudonym whole disguised as a woman by his mother, is unrelated to the phrase "phyrric victory", which is from King Pyrrhus of Epirus' victories over the Romans during the Pyrrhic War. Bonus: "Forever Fall", also known as Juane & Pyrrha's leitmotif, can be heard in musical queues all the way back in Volume 1 (believe the first time it's heard is when Pyrrha help's Juane out of the tree in the Emerald Forest during initiation).
I’m sure others will have said as much, but Ozpin, and Salem’s daughters are not the maidens. But Ozpin did create the maidens I think, as they reminded him of his daughters.
I think the daughters are the maidens, unless I missed some RTX event and during a panel discussion they confirm they are not. Correct me if I'm wrong. This is what I think. It makes sense to me.
@ Well, I dont think it makes sense, because Ozpin states he gave his magic to four young women in the show. Ozpin should be magically stronger than he currently is if his power wasnt divided. He did not give his magic to his daughters, they were born with magic. Its also why Ozpin is magically weaker than Salem, Salem has kept her magic power, never shared it. Also the story about the four maidens I think exists for a reason, proving he gave his powers to young women. His daughters you’d hardly call young women.
@@XFizzlepop-Berrytwist i think the maidens are their daughter cuz they was the firsts persons with magic alive, idk if the kids dies in the parents battle but i think if someone survived one of them could gived the maidens power or their powers just transformed into something else idk, it's just a theory, a rwby theory
There is a story of old man giving young 4 maidens powers, Pyrrha tells it when Ozpin asked about it, there is separate animation for it and he literally says he GAVE his powers to them, so, I'm pretty sure children died and they were not maidens, just capable of doing magic which lead to conflict between Salem and Oz
Season 6 just keeps hitting us in the feels, from the Ozpin flashback, to Brunswick Farms, Pyrrha's statue, Qrow's depression, Blake & Yang's triumph, and Ruby's growth. Such an incredible season!
Honestly, I’m on the Ozma did nothing wrong train, like if you knew you were being asked to learn to how fight and your ultimate enemy was an unkillable, magic-wielding witch with a thirst for destruction, you’d be reluctant to do anything or try to unify the world too I think. Now he definitely did ask the wrong question like you guys said, i think if he asked how do you stop Salem or save Salem he’d be able to have a solid plan for sure. Ozma’s life is rough though, seeing many generations come and go with no end to the strife or conflict in sight. Get this man some therapy. Also, Maria’s young design and her gravity dust scythes are SO cool!
People give Oz shit for his he framed the question but not only is that kind of a stupid criticism I also can’t really blame Oz for thinking that he is the only person that could defeat Salem. Oz is the main character of Remnant, the only reason e think otherwise is because we know the show is called RWBY
The God of Light literally said, "Hey I made Salem immortal for you also she hates Humanity now. Have fun with that, byeeeeeee" and then he went on Vacation.
For me, a mark of a good show is never letting the characters who died be forgotten. RWBY and FMA: Brotherhood both come to mind in being great at this.
Yeah! Like, it’s not “don’t kill characters” but “make the deaths meaningful.” Everyone from Pyrrha to Penny to Pilot Boy (accidentally went all Ps lol) had a meaningful impact by living and by dying.
This was a blast. I think volume 6 might be one of my favorites, though part of that might be how it was the first time I was continuing with the series in a very long time. I binged it and volume 7 in a single weekend! ...I, uh, haven't continued since, but maybe seeing your reaction to volume 7 will give me a new perspective on it and the will to keep going.
The lyrics to "Indomindable", e.g. Ruby's rousing finale when she unleashes silver eye blast on the Leviathan are an explicit tribute to the memory of Monty Oum. Likewise the Volume 4 OP lyrics are a tribute to Monty as well, expressing CRWBY's grief within the context of the story.
@@reapingjoker4198 would've been more believable as a Grimmified human, once Salem recovered his body. As we see that happen later on. A full on Bull Grimm or a Minotaur would've been sick as hell. (since he's based on constellation Taurus/Beast)
@@reapingjoker4198Out of the characters, Adam is one of them that deserves redemption the least. From the beginning, you could see his motives were less for the Faunus and more for himself. He teamed up with a racist criminal (Roman Torchwick), risked his followers rather than himself, murdered civilians and members of the of his own team, abused Blake, etc. He even had several chances this volume to murder Weiss, the once heiress of the Schnee Dust Company. The company known for mistreating Faunus workers and whose name is branded on his face. If he killed her, he probably would’ve been accepted into the White Fang, but he didn’t. He cared more about making himself feel strong by killing Blake, more than the plights of the Faunus.
@@viviansmiley2 To be fair to all of those, in V3Ch7 Fall we see that Cinder literally threatened his men while bringing resources as a carrot to her stick so he would agree to reconsider(she threatened him basically) working with her. Before that he didn't even entertain the idea of working with humans In the same episode he also tells everyone to forget about Blake and that he's going alone back to Mistral. At this point Blake and Adam weren't revealed to be romantic, only that he was her fallen mentor And thirdly it was established in season 1 by Blake that terrorism, killing innocents and causing fear was the only thing working against discrimination, that's how bad it was People's problems with Adam as a character and their sympathy to him and desire for redemption comes from the way how badly he was set up in the beggining compared to what his character ended up being He wasn't in the first volumes a lot but what we saw is him being forced to partnership with humans exactly because she was ready to kill his men, implying he cares about them in some capacity, him outright displaying that Blake isn't important to him to the point of obsession and that he's willing to leave her alone. We also saw how he was apathetic to civilian deaths but at the same time Blake and Sun discuss that before White Fang started doing terrorist acts including killing civilians, the discrimination problem towards Faunus didn't become better and that was the only way that actually worked. Compared to all of that, Adam "My Darling" Taurus that we see starting since V3CH11 feels like completely different character even if it was supposed to be his personality from the start. And writers never clarified it so people built up a better version of his character in their head

Tock (the reptile Faunus in Maria’s flashback) was one of Salem’s servants, she was sent after Maria because of her silver eyes. Tock’s semblance was her clock, it allowed her to be invincible for one minute
As a long time fan of RWBY with a complicated, mostly critical opinion of the show as a whole, I'm really glad people are able to find the show nowadays and genuinely enjoy it. It reminds me of what I love about RWBY, even if I tend to focus on what disappoints me about it. I hope you guys keep having fun with RWBY.

When I tell you that seeing this upload finally appear in my subs I almost cried tears of relief, I mean it 😭🙏 I needed this 4hr RWBY video so badly today. Thank you
One thing to note: Monty actually passed away between Volume 2 and 3, not 3 and 4. Just most of the choreo for 3 was done by then so quality didn't take too much of a hit. Another thing is that I got to meet Oscar's VA and we had a nice discussion about the morality of Ozpin hiding information and such. Cool, awesome dude
By this Volume most of the Crew is 18 with Ruby being 16 and Oscar 14. The crew entered Beacon at 17 and Ruby was moved 2 years ahead making her 15 at the time of Volume 1
@@jeffreysmith236 actually you're right. For some reason they don't tell you a year takes place between Vol 3 and 6. Which doesn't really make sense chronologically but whatever.
@xXSlyWolfDogXx most of that falls between volumes 3 and 4, they stated somewhere, that there was a time skip of 6 to 8 months from the end of 3 to the beginning of 4.
@@xXSlyWolfDogXx my understanding, that I no longer recall how I got, is their school year starts in late winter or early spring and ends in the fall, and they are at the end of their 2nd semester in volume 3, and Ruby's birthday is Oct 31, and Beacon falls on Ruby's 16th birthday. And there is a time skip from Ruby walking away from Yang and Ruby's departure with RNJR. CRWBY stated somewhere that 6 to 8 months elapsed at the beginning of volume 4, Ruby's hair is much longer and her hood is tattered. RNJR is not fighting the Geist in Spring, it is late Summer. That is the chronology. If their school year was the same as ours then nothing makes sense, that is correct. But she starts school after turning 15 and has her entire school year pass before she turns 16, so it must start differently.
Great reaction! It makes my day when I see yall drop a new RWBY volume, I really look forward to it! Volume 6 is WILD, the origin lore episode is legendary, I still remember watching it premiere it was wild the fandom reaction was crazy, especially since we FINALLY found out what happened to the moon!! Episode 6 is also one of my all-time favorites, the Apathy felt straight out of a horror game like yall said, they nailed the eerie creeping sense of wrongness before it went full tilt. Can’t wait for Volume 7!!
I don't think the Maidens are reincarnations of Oz's children, rather the tale of 4 women who spoke to Oz is true and he gave them that power because they reminded him of his daughters
No Oz clearly made up that story to help cope with their loss as he reincarnates and those children got the power to come back in a form and so they clearly are the first girls, just the realistic thing is as they lingered around Remnant, they had no purpose but eventually did and knew about their dad's job and wanted to help the world in any way, it's also clear they communicated with him in some way to help hide the Relics. Ozpin's statement he knew about the story since he was a little boy is a lie, he made the story himself and it wouldnt make sense how the life Ozma gotten as Ozpin would know that since he was a little boy because it's legit older.
@@artistanthony1007 It's not clearly just a lie, we don't have definitive evidence either way, and we do know Oz spent several lifetimes having just given up
Fun fact: the origin story of Salem and Ozma was written long before the rest of the series was. They wanted to make sure to give the heroes and the villain proper motivation, making both sides sympathetic. I feel people don’t appreciate the world-building enough, often saying bullshit critiques.
I love the Jinn flashback, and I appreciate how many resources they must've had to divert to it, creating location and character models that wouldn't be used anywhere else, but it's very clear that they ran out of time or something, because there are weird scaling issues. Salem, for example, was definitely originally gonna be, like a head shorter than Oz, but got scaled up to be his height, hence her head being bigger than his in proportion to her body. Same for their kids, being mostly pallet swaps of each other. They were obviously designed at the same size and them a couple of them were scaled up, one more noticeably than the others. You don't realize that most humans have roughly the same size head, and that animation tends to reflect that by just giving everybody basically the same size head, until you see something awkward like that.
To me, one of the interesting implications of “why are we trying if Salem can’t even be killed” is that like…murder was the plan. They all assumed they would deal with Salem by ending her life and they were all okay with that.
Just a note (regarding a very common misconception, y'all aren'tthe only ones believe me), but Salem's kids aren't the original maidens. The reason Ozpin doesn't have the level of magic he used to is because the story if the maidens is basically true. He was almost certainly reminded of them by the sisters who got him out of his hermit phase, though, so that gives us a clearer understanding of his motivation for empowering them.
I still say the Gods are absolute pieces of sh*t, and caused everything. Wiping out all of Humanity due to the actions of like 50 people attacking them? Made their worst enemy immortal and invincible? Refused to bring back Ozma, but after destroying Humanity decide to bring him back to do their bidding, and blaming the tragedy of what happened to Humanity on Salem?
The god of light only brings Ozma back after Salem's swim in the Grimm pool. So, only after he knows they won't work out romantically and immortality will suck for them. So yeah, absolute pieces of sh*t.
@DXDragon38 i absolutly agree, plus if you think about it if Salem had gone to the god of darkness first then the two gods would have fought against each other and probably wipe out humanity by themselves, but good for them that there is some human to blame instead for their sh*tty behavior 😂.
It's not just fifty people but supposedly united armies of the whole humanity of that time. It's just in 3d so they can't draw an army with of people Gods still went overboard though
I mean it was Salem’s fault tho, she couldn’t handle a natural part of the cycle and her greed led to her unifying not just 50 people, but entire kingdoms of the planet to rally behind her, leaving her invincible was meant to be an ironic punishment but definitely did come back to bite Ozma in the ass, truly Oz is the victim here and Salem is the drama, the god of light should’ve at least told Oz about a way to clear her corruption if there is one.
Straight up I still support ozpin's decision to keep some things a secret. He was straight up right on his choice to do that there will always be somethings you have to keep close to your heart. No matter what because you get blow back just like what happened when they all learned to truth his choices he made were right in my eyes.
Ozpin was afraid to reveal secrets for many reasons. And RWBY proved all of them Hell just look how Raven and Lionheart prove he was correct to hide it
@yp4506 You mean the girl who wasn't forced to do anything, who was given choice to think it over and whom Ozpin strictly told to run away and ask for Qrow/Glynda once the plan failed because he didn't want her to die a pointless death. Then Pyrrha deliberately walked herself to the tower to fight a losing battle because her own psyche was unstable after she became the reason for massive Grimm invasion and killed another person for the first time. Nah, Ozpin's fault clearly
WARNING, HUGE SPOILERS Going to do this because V6's ost is one of my favorites, and while I understand it being quiet due to copyright, i still suggest listening to it. but I'm going to try and name the songs when they appear in the show as I watch it, and talk a bit about the track, feel free to let me know if I miss anything. Episode 1, Argus limited (around 16:50) Miracle. A much more depressing song than one would expect, and a song that really represents team RWBY's thoughts throught the season. "We're waiting for a miracle but for now we'll stand and fight." 20:26, Rising, the intro (and one of my favorites) a stark contrast to Miracle, and a song that very much resembles team Rwby's mindset at the end of v6. "The sky is turning dark, Light is fading fast, but we won't surrender." Episode 5, The coming storm (1:21:33) One Thing. I will avoid spoilers for those still watching, but its is very clearly *Her* song, her rage, her anger, all having built up. The best part is, casey lee williams (the one singing) is technically also her voice actor, so it just fits so well. "Cue the scene, Now it's time, Reparation for your crime. Atonement day is finally here!" It's also one of my favorite songs ever. So, the next song isn't actually in the season, but Adam's v6 character short. Lionize. This one is Adam's song. Tbh, this season did him dirty, but it's not like he really deserved a happy ending. He never actually met Ruby or Weiss, or any of team JNPR outside of maybe seeing them at haven. "I'm here I'm your savior I'll be lionized" Not a song, but shout out to episode 6 for revealing quite possibly my third favorite grimm, the Apathy. And then episode 7 with an amazing fight scene.(and the tidbit of rising that played when the reached the top of that hill.therw are so many little leitmotifs sprinkled throughout the entire series that I still find new ones to this day, i would suggest checking out Changyuraptor for more stuff on it) Episode 9, Lost: (2:26:52) Forever Fall. (Also played in credits) This song, this scene... This isn't Pyrrha's only song, but it's her most heartfelt. Also, so much of this song is has Leitmotifs from all the way back in V1 episode 3, and subsequently every time Jaune and Pyrrha were together. There is so much more i want to say about this song, but I suggest you look into it yourself, the same goes to all the music from past and future Volumes. I have listened to these soundtracks more times than any other album of music from any Artist, Movie, or game, and I have still not gotten tired of it. "But this will always be It's my destiny To be in love with you." Even while watching this reaction, I still couldn't stop the tears. Episode 11: The Lady in the Shoe (yes, like the fairytale) ( 2:52:20 ) Big Metal Shoe. This one, this one is a banger. I used to be able to sing the rap from memory, but uh, not without consequences. So many fairy tale references in this one (the medium, not the anime, I think) that it was very hard to pick out a set of lyrics. "Mirror, mirror, who will lose it all? Soundly whip those children or your cradle's gonna fall" Once again, this entire fight scene is one of my favorites Episode 13: Our way. Now I'm going to do these next 2 out of order. So first up is the song that plays over the credits: Nevermore. This is Blake and Yang's second song as a duo now i think (first being BMBLB (the bike or the ship? Nobody knows.) And its a good one. Something of note is im fairly certain this is yang's first song with somebody else, while Blake almost always is a duo song with somebody else. "I made a vow I'm not alone Not dying now we're protecting our own." Now before we get to the final song i would like to give a mention to the Remixes of past songs on the v6 ost. Armed and ready acoustic is some straight Beehaw! And the rest are all equally bops. Which, leads us to the final song. At ( 3:24:36) Indomitable. I have, so much to say about this song. At first, when i heard it i thought this was the first Ruby song since Red like roses part 2 in v1. In the end, it wasnt her song, it was a song for Monty Oum. Im sure there are better comments on other videos that can explain some of the lyrics behind this song, but I also just reccomend listening to this song in it's own. "Don't be afraid Get up, get going, a step every day I'll meet you there When we strive, we transcend Even death cannot end our climb" See you guys in v7, hopefully my heart will be repaired come v8 and 9.
The volume is my favorite in terms of character backstory. The whole backstory and how his past lives impact his choices are just chefs' kiss. I am an Opzin defender to the end. I think they deserved to know about Salem (even though Salem is essentially what the signed up to fight in the beginning, a never ending evil that never dies), but i think the way they just splay out his entire life story and then judge him on all of it is CRAZY to me. Especially since the others don't do that to each other. But, more importantly, I love how they do Ozpin's reaction. The gang is upset and enraged, but Ozpin just saw his entire life, every failure, every misstep, and every flaw he's ever made thrown back into his face. And when faced with the judgemental and upset reactions of the gang (that persist for quite a while) he runs away. Because despite living for who knows how long, he's incredibly flawed and human. Even though everyone in the gang seems to look at him for all the solutions, he's still just a guy. A traumatized guy at that. And his choices are backed by both the lessons he's learned and the experiences that were inflicted on him. Basically, i love it. And the further the series goes, we as watchers get to see the gang understand those choices and make their own choices as a result.
True that Ozpin went through some serious sh*t for ages, but why everyone is upset against him is fully understandable. He lied to them after telling them that there would be no half-truth anymore and in his case, its a huge secret that he kept because he didn't have much choice or maybe it was just revealed too soon regarding his cautioness. To be honest, they all have to endure a part of the blame regarding the new informations
So, fun fact: Maria was initially gonna be in Volume 5! Instead of just sitting in the house, Qrow was gonna find her in his search for Huntsmen and get Ruby some training in Silver Eyes. But it ended up being put off until Volume 6.
You mean the finale... as in the last 3 episodes... as in the worst written episodes of a show I have ever seen. You know until the finale where they make a beloved character evil by coming up with the dumbest semblance to exist, bring back a character, then turn them human only to kill them minutes later, and then fail at saving an entire kingdom.
what in the fuck are you talking about? None of this happens in this volume ...if you meant to leave this comment on a different volume, please put it there instead.

geezus, i wish RUclips allowed us to give special likes or something to people who take the time to comment this sorta stuff. as a compromise here you go:
I loved that they brought Jen Brown back to voice the "red haired woman". Come on Rooster Teeth, everyone in the FNDM shouted "Pyrrha's Mom!" through their tears.
Jinn is based off a jinn in a lamp (like in Aladin) and jinn are known to play with word a lot (ex: wish to be the richest man and they will make everyone lose all their money) soo the fact that she said "YOU can't" to Oz make me think someome else can or could, only that Ozma himself is unable to do so. Also with the fact that Ruby's eyes affect only Grimm i theorised that maybe they need a silver eyes person to "clear" Salem from grimm.
Also like they said, the question could be wrong, you can’t DESTROY Salem, but maybe you can STOP Salem. Djinn are very particular about wording and phrases.
@@hugothibodeau6137 They know how to stop Salem though. She must learn value of life. Jinn would just say this instead. The question how do I beat/kill/stop her is pointless. It's either you can't or something that was already known(learn the value of life). The only working one would be "how can I make her see the value of life" but even then I wouldn't be surprised if Jinn answers, "you can't, she's too far gone". Or "How can I stop her without her needing to learn value of life"
@@Titanfell-d3i she can't learn the value of life because she is corrupted by the Grimm to want absolute destruction. if you watched DBZ i can compare it to trying to teach Kid Buu the value of life, it is pointless. However, Buu without the negativity was able to learn the value of life. Salem mainely need to accept responcibility for her action and as long as she is grimm there is no way to do it
"it's a shame really, he seemed like quite the ambitious fellow. always coming up with a new way to beat the odds" and then ruby walks into frame. and what took him and everyone else out? apathy. you can't say RWBY has poor writing with subtle nods like that. also at the end of v3 arrow tells ruby that she's special like her mom was implying summer had silver eyes too
It is always beyong me how much hate goes towards later volumes of RWBY. Volume 7 and 8 are some of my favourite seasons of any show ever. (Which I will obviously not go into details about here but I am excited to finally see you guys get into it)
I loved RWBY. It's not just Fandoms that do this weird thing that shits on everything. It's internet culture in general. People are not free thinking and go into this weird hive mind mentality that if they see people complaining or hating on something, everyone jumps on board and repeats the sentiment. People don't give things a chance. It's the same with video games. Like that teaser trailer at the Video Game Awards for that new Naughty Dog game. We saw just a short cgi teaser and people are already doing the predictable move, calling it "woke," and whatever other ridiculous overly used crap they throw at everything lately. It's beyond played out and exhausting.
We don’t talk enough about how much of an assholes the gods are. Cursed a woman with eternal loneliness for the crime of grieving the only person she ever loved, nuked humanity, cursed another person with eternal live... all while treating everything as a school project.
If you get to the end of vol 9 you see a bit more about their origins, and I think it says something about their fallibility. They were never perfect, and I suspect that’s a major theme going forwards.
Gotta say, I disagree with your take and the spin. "Cursed a woman with eternal loneliness for the crime of grieving the only person she ever loved" No. They had no problem with her grief. The god of light pitied her, could not raise Ozma without starting a war with his brother, and advised her, from a place of knowing more than her, to let him rest. She pulled the whole going to dad when you don't like what mom told you in the hopes of getting a different answer on a cosmic scale and set the two gods against each other. *That* is what she was punished for. "Nuked humanity" Yeah, seems extreme from humanities' perspective. But this is their creation. It rebelled against them. To a god, this was no more than getting annoyed at sims not cooperating and going to another save file. Delete, reset, move on. Seems harsh from the creations' perspective, but there's no real reason for them to care about us. "Cursed another person with eternal life" Ummm? Ozma? Not really. Gave him an option. Decided he cared enough about humanity to give them another chance. Went to one of their greatest heroes, gave him a *choice* whether to go back or not, with full knowledge of the difficulties and consequences. Not much of a curse, though it probably felt like one after a while. "Treating everything like a school project" For a nigh omnipotent being who created a world because he could and to see what it would be like...isn't it? It was an experiment. Why shouldn't he run it as he wishes and abandon it as he wishes? I mean, like in 2, it seems harsh when we're being abandoned, but from the perspective of an eternal creator, why would it be any different than the hundreds of shrimp that died in the toxicology lab I ran this semester that served only the purpose of teaching new students? It's great to have a creator that cares, but I don't think it's something to expect. Whew. Sorry. Didn't mean to rant. Nothing against you, I just get wordy when trying to explain my perspective. No worries if you ignore it. I just disagree. The gods made fairly rational choices and were offended when something tried to start a fight between them. They punished accordingly.
@@mentaya11 oh I’m not disagreeing with any of your points, but the thing that stands out the most to me is that the god of light placed the destruction of humanity solely on his Brothers shoulders when talking to Ozma. Plus (spoilers ahead) their decision to leave the everafter kind of aged them down in maturity. They are young adult gods so to speak, not ancient and all knowing. This is their first time away from home and I think they made some pretty big mistakes as a result. My point is that with the introduction of the blacksmith, an even older God it creates the opportunity for some discourse around their mistakes. Thematically admitting to mistakes feels like something that may be a major theme in upcoming volumes. Jinn said Salem cursed everyone but herself. The god of light blamed the destruction of humanity on his brother. Ozpin in many ways is a foil who tries to take on all the responsibility. In either case if one of the key aspects of the everafter is growth through self reflection, then why wouldn’t that same growth be applied to other characters? Such growth can only happen after they acknowledge their mistakes and their woes and then resolve to move forward. I don’t think the Gods have ever faced that. I don’t think Salems faced that either. But that’s just a theory. Plus the curious cat was definitely a mistake: they left assuming everything would be fine and we clearly see that if left a once loyal and true character unto becoming something bitter and broken. I think it’s fair to assume that wasn’t their intention.
@@BrittanyArtPoetry I agree, at least to an extent. I don't see placing the blame on the god of darkness as equivalent to Salem blaming everyone but herself. Salem was directly responsible for her own actions. She and she alone was being punished when humanity was wiped out and allowed to reset. The god of darkness *did* unilaterally decide to end the "experiment" he and his brother were doing, i.e. humanity. It was a blast from the dark brother that wiped out all human life. And it was conflict *between* the two that led to that choice, that the light brother did not seem to have objection with. So, in one case we have Salem blaming others for her own actions and in the other we see the god of light correctly identifying his brother as being the destroyer of humanity, while also not seeming to object to the same. That said, I don't disagree about your interpretation of their portrayal. This does seem to be their first time out creating a world and populating it, and it does seem to be "practice" so to speak. These are clearly meant to be fallible beings in the vein of the Olympian gods rather than perfect ones like the Judeo-Christian God.
I loved the show V1-V9. Unfortunately RWBY was the first show I followed that seemed to have an all or nothing attitude towards it. Partially because of parasocial relationships before that was a word. I loved Roosterteeth as well. But I called them out on their BS while still being okay with the good. Most people just hated everything including 4 and 5. And some people just started wanting to see Roosterterth fail and shifting on anything they could. Even I put 4 and 5 lower then most but that doesn't mean they aren't good. Cinder vs Raven is still one of my favorite fights in the show. Vernal was a great character I wish we had longer. The V4 Horseman Grim was great. Can't wait for you guys to see V7-V9!
Also, what drew Levi towards them wasn't just Cordovin's anger towards RWBY and Co, but also the massive amount of fear/panic that Cordovin's mech and fight caused. During the fight, the show pans over to the city's populace being worried as the ground shakes and whatnot. Cordovin's arrogance and rage was just the spark that lit a giant beacon to the city.
@@KyleAllen001 I don't know man, maybe just don't steal military property from the military to essentially secretly enter Atlas since you're not cleared to do so. When they closed the borders to prevent that kind of thing Especially when you were given several other options to enter such as sending one of your own to the city so she could be given the clearance for the whole party. And it's not like they don't have a strong experienced animal shapeshifter who could be hidden in a bag or a suitcase and who can bodyguard their teammate in case any problem will arise Clearly Cordovin overreacted and is insufferable however what did they expect? That she would allow them to get away with a crime?
When you guys finish the show (or catch up, anyway), make sure to check out the books. There are three canon novels, After the Fall, Before the Dawn, and Roman Holiday, a canon, in universe, collection of fairy tales, and a 12 issue canon comic that takes place between Volumes 3 and 4 with some flashbacks. There are also two canon games, one between Volumes 2 and 3 called Grimm Eclipse, and one in the middle of a montage sequence in Volume 7 called Arrowfell, and two dubiously canon Justice League crossover movies (inspired by the crossover comics that AREN'T canon), the first taking place during Volume 7, and the second after Volume 9. But there ARE several tie-in series of various formats. World of Remnant, which is basically like going to RWBY school, Fairyfales of Remnant (based on the book, and retelling select stories from the book), and Beyond, which takes place after Volume 9. Oh, and a canon D&D themed series that is currently unavailable anywhere called Grimm Campaign. It might be my favorite RWBY thing ever, and I need them to make it available to watch again at some point and to also make more seasons. And, for fun, there's RWBY Chibi. That should all be up on RUclips still, and it's just a bunch of fun and wholesome shorts to warm your heart. It's non-canon, but this is the only non-canon thing you NEED to get into. And then there are SEVERAL manga, all released by VIZ Media, who now owns RWBY (so expect more in the future). None of it is canon, but some of it did get reused in the also dubiously canon anime series RWBY: Ice Queendom. I'm not personally a fan of the show, but... It does do some interesting things at the tail end. But it just doesn't make up for the lackluster story, poor pacing, poor voice acting or direction (as far as the English dub goes, which is saying something because it makes the good RWBY actors bad, and they all return to play their characters), and terrible dialogue. And then it also does the thing most anime does, which is just to have the cheapest and laziest looking animation possible. There are like two fights in the entire show that are well animated, but even then it's usually hard to even know what's going on at any point because the choreography isn't great. The original music for the series is good, though, so that's something.
From what Miles and Kerry have said, Monty had notes for the rest of the show. But most people assume they were probably very loose notes and not super detailed, meaning they did have to fill in a lot of the blanks themselves. Which, to be fair, they were already doing for the most part early on. Monty got both Miles and Kerry onto the show because he didn't know how to write, whereas they had at least some experience with it. Volumes 4 and 5, though, were mainly done using recycled ideas for Volume 1 that were scrapped for budget and time. I don't think they were handled the best, but it's not like they made something as atrociously bad as Morbius or Madame Web. But it was also still just them directing the episodes, meaning now there was no Monty, no third opinion and voice, and all the pressure was on them. In addition, Kerry was made the show runner after Monty passed, meaning he had even more responsibilities to deal with. Volume 6 saw the introduction of regular episodic directors, which split up the workload some. And Volume 7 saw the introduction of other writers, which further split up the workload. And it generally made for smoother production and better quality. Not perfect, mind you, but not even Volume 3, my favorite volume, is perfect. The massive lore drops basically come out of nowhere, with absolutely no hints or teases to them beforehand, completely changing the focus of the show and throwing off the audience. It's not bad, per se, but imagine if we had learned about the Maidens or other fairy tales before we were told that the Maidens were real. He we are, coming face to face with the knowledge that a childhood story holds more fact than fiction. After Volume 3, the show did change. But any lore drops following that were easier to swallow because we already knew about the Maidens. They don't feel like massive, show altering revelations that make you question everything. They feel like simple additions to be lore.
if you have seen volume 8 we have literally seen her get turned into a stain on the ground and just regenerate from it, and Oz was NOT the one who stained her.
While I absolutely understand why everyone was so pissed at Oz keeping the secrets I can’t really blame him for doing so. 90% of the stuff that was revealed was irrelevant and/or deeply personal for him and the stuff that was relevant would’ve destroyed any organised resistance against Salem the second it came out of his mouth
To be honest he didn't and Team RWBY and Jaune, etc... They're not blaming him for what he did but because he kept so much for himself and they were fed up about it. But after they learn the truth, they're just pissed because they're lost and don't know what to do afterwards
The fight between Blake, Yang, and Adam was definitely my favorite part of this volume. Probably my favorite fight of the series! Also I am definitely on the Blake, and Yang ship! The way they looked at each other when Blake leaves to disable the radio tower says everything they needed to say. I personally support Ozpin 100% on his decision to withhold the truth. I understand everyone would be upset by learning the truth, but the fact that Weiss, Blake, and Yang actually pointed their weapons at Qrow when he tried to de-escalate the situation really pissed me off. Qrow has literally risked his life to keep them all safe multiple times, and they had the audacity to threaten him. Next volume is one of my favorites, so I definitely can't wait to see your reactions for that. Btw much respect to you guys for buying the Blu-rays of RWBY!
In my opinion, its true that its was very unexpected how they threatened him but the way that he was he was more or less taking Oz's defense even though there wasn't a fight going on. And i mean, you have to understand that they cant work together if Ozpin keeps having crucial secrets like the one about the lamp because he literally said last volume that there would be no more lies or half-truth but in his defense he's right here about laying low with his secrets. Its either nothing would have happened and become a group of people struggling trusting the adults or having to fight it now. There wasn't any other option about it unfortunately.
They didn’t know what Qrow was going to do To them he was Ozpin’s greatest agent and before this Ozpin has been truthful and a huge help It was more of a show of how much they respect Ruby and how wanted Qrow to know to tread carefully because of the bombshell we were getting Right after Ozpin lunges at Ruby so it’s not like they were wrong in that it was a tense situation
I genuinely have forgotten how amazing this season was but the last 3 (7,8,and 9) are like sooooooo good I don't think I've laughed, cried, and had more fun than in those seasons! Be prepared and have emotions in check shit about to get crazyyyyyyyyy!
Yesss I've been waiting for more RWBY. The action of this season on is so good, and I still endlessly appreciate that you state the value of the buildup seasons. So many people ragged on 4-5 and even gave up on the show. But that's such an overeaction. I'm also so happy you love Ruby and are watching her journey because oh my gosh. You thought this here was a change and growth, her arc is only beginning. All of the characters have such fun growth to them going forward, and anyone who complains otherwise I don't even give a thought to. Someone else has probably commented this, but Adam's brand is "SDC" because he was a slave at one point by the Schnee Dust Company.
Honestly it’s hard not be on Ozma side when they assault him after learning and have discussions about stopping the journey. Kinda validated his traumatic experiences 💀
A little nitpicky, but Pyrrha's name actually comes from the Greek King Pyrrhus of Epirus, who is where we coin the phase "pyrrhic victory" from. He was a brilliant general, but couldn't sustain the losses he endured against the Romans. So a Pyrrhic victory is one where the victor ends up as devastated as the defeated. Also, Adam's brand spells out SDC - or Schnee Dust Corporation.
Pyrrha's name comes from her red hair because in Greek it translates to flame/flame colored and she's a redhead. That's her Color Rule Name Also she's based on Achilles who crossdressed in his mythos and when he was pretending to be a woman he took name Pyrrha for himself because of his flaming red hair. Since JNPR are based off famous historical/mythical figures who crossdressed or pretended to be opposite gender at one point of their lives, she mostly alludes to Achilles
I was jumping across a lot of my favorite moments of this reaction because I simply don’t have time for the binge or the self control to not check out their reaction to bits of some of my favorite rwby moments, but trust I’ll come back for the full rewatch
I adore that the FIRST WORDS the God of Light speaks are lies. 'I understand your pain, but you demand of me that which I cannot make so' Not only can an immortal being whose only connectons are immortal NOT understand her pain... He also COULD do as she asked. And does. . Meanwhile, Darkness never lies to Salem... And while she excludes her brother, Jinn doesn't make it clear that she ACTUALLY LIED to Darkness. in fact, we don't get to actually hear what she says. Which is interesting as a limitation of what a Relic that LIGHT created imposes. Jinn also colors her depiction of Salem - Salem's attempts to die are 'spite'. Not desperation. She also doesn't SEEM to actually lie to the rulers she leads against the gods - the Gods COULD, in fact, make them immortal and they did, in fact, make Salem immortal. Salem manipulates the truth.... Darkness speaks truth.... Light, however, lies and acts behind others' backs. And is a hypocrite. Interesting, to me at least
@@Pokemichael It's the volume where heroes start truly controversial reckless and arguably stupid decisions such as needlessly stealing airship from the military when they had other options and weren't pressed for time. That in turn leads to Leviathan attacking the whole city because they decided to steal military property It's also the volume where they start being very self-righteous. Ruby's speech to Qrow is tone deaf, everyone jumping on Ozpin without any sympathy after he relieved thousands years of his trauma doesn't paint them in good light. Yang becomes downright immature hypocrite who constantly spouts "no more lies" and ready to aggressively demand answers from others for that but has no problems continuing the lies about Raven herself. Or Ironwood in the future
@@Titanfell-d3i They did take reckless decisions, but it was there only choice. How exactly would they be able to go to another continent? Explain they other choices, because they literally had non. And yes they were pressed for time,Atlas was Salem next target. Their only option was stealing an Atlas airship, and it was gonna work, but Adam was the wild card that ruin the plan. Ruby's speech is not tone deaf, I understand were Qrow was coming from, but as a huntsman he has a responsibility to complete his mission and he was just getting drunk and not helping at all, Ruby step up and put him in his place. Ozpin's trauma is not an excuse for lying, trauma is not an excuse to do horrible things. I can understand Ozpin, but while I understand him, he lied and trained children to fight an impossible war just delaying the inevitable, because he didn't even had a plan to stop Salem. Let's not use his trauma as excuse, because he has 0 excuses for the things he has done. Yang is not a hypocrite, they all know that Raven is the Spring Maiden, is not a conversation that needs to be presented on screen, because is just obvious that she told them. Yang told them that Bernald was dead and that Cinder was gone, the only obvious conclusion is that Raven is the maiden. The lying in the future against Iron wood was to be cautious, because he could have been part of Salem inner circle, just like Leo was. Why should Iron Wood be trusted from the get go? And when they understood that he was an ally, they revealed the truth. They are not hypocrites, but just like Qrow said they are doing things different from Oz, they are waiting for people to prove they can be trusted and that is exactly what happens.
@@TheDarkOne1920 This post has so many things wrong it's just not funny They literally had a choice to send Weiss in. They were given that option. From there Weiss can contact Winter and inform general. Yes RWBY promised Weiss to not leave her alone but as you said Huntsmen must to do their job, they can suck it up. If they're worried so much, Qrow is a shapeshifter. They can hide him in a bag or suitcase in case something goes wrong or Weiss needs protection. Qrow also sent letters to Ironwood about them coming. They could wait until James gets them and wait for arranged escort Also heroes DIDN'T KNOW Salem's next target. In fact she was targeting Vacuo next but switched targets mid-season. Viewers know her next target. Heroes don't. They don't watch their own show "Ruby put him in his place" excuse me but you sound disgusting. Qrow is the only sensible guy there, he straight up speaks facts when saying that they're basically stealing from the military of the strongest kingdom. They would steal an unauthorized ship. What will happen when they arrive to Atlas without clearance and there's a possibility they're going to be shot down by the fleet? Not to mention that in the process they're risking Jaune's sister and her wife's livelihoods since they are working there and could be found out if RWBYJNR are caught. Qrow is looking out for them despite spiraling down and he's told to shut up. Ruby is acting really tone deaf there, they don't need adults. If not for adult Terra who helped with the plan or adult Maria who helped her with eyes, if not for Adult Ozpin who guided Oscar to land a ship properly they wouldn't have made it out of Argus in the first place. If not for Qrow, Ruby would've been taken away by Tyrian in V4 and would've become Hound Grimm. But sure, tell audience how those pesky adults aren't needed, oh so wise leader that decides to commit crimes when she has other options. Also Ozpin did nothing wrong. His lies didn't really affect anything. He was honest about it being impossible war from the start. Because Grimm are unending, Grimm are immortal, Grimm can't be destroyed for thousands years. Heroes must already know the war they fight is unwinnable because they signed up to fight Grimm. Salem being immortal changes nothing, nobody ever thought they could defeat Grimm and they still signed up for being Huntsmen, why did they assume they could defeat Salem? They already knew Ozpin fought her for thousands years so she also must be immortal. She still wasn't defeated. Qrow worked for Ozpin for decades and they didn't come close to defeating her. Why RWBY thought they were special enough to win this in the first place is the real secret of the century here. All they did is making Ozpin relieve his trauma and then pounced on him at his lowest without shred of sympathy. And finally. Firstly we don't know if Yang told them because it's never mentioned in the show or outside of it. Secondly Raven was past 30 years so she can't receive Maiden powers she's too old. So that means conclusion would be that Vernal dying would transfer powers to some random person. When in reality Raven had them from the start. That's big deal. So it matters. It's important and you can't make her tell them off screen without mentioning it. In fact Yang probably didn't tell them because finale of V5 has Qrow ask her about it and she lied. So it's reasonable to assume she still keeps it a secret. And if so, then she's biggest hypocrite in the group And RWBY never bring up Leo as excuse to not trust Ironwood. They bring up Mantle. And they tell him only once he starts helping Mantle instead of focusing on the project like they demanded from him. So they literally just told him the truth only when he started doing what they wanted. Real trust here guys
@@Titanfell-d3i The only one wrong here and that sounds completely disgusting is you for simply not being respectful on a simple conversation about the show. Firstly, no they didn't had a choice, Weiss would have been send to her father, not Iron Wood, her father wouldn't allowed her to communicate with Winter, he literally had her locked in her house against her will. And again that is sending one small part of the group, and wasting more time, instead of just simply going together, like they did at the end of volume 6. So ko, there wasen't other choices. Yes Qrow send a letter, but if you saw the other show about thee lore of the world of Remenent, it clearly state that letters take a huge amount of time to arrive and that is not totally secure that it will arrive to the destination. Yes the heroes defenetly didn't know what kingdom, would be the next target, but they defenetly knew that there was gonna be another attack to one of the 2 kingdoms lefts, because Salem is looking for the relics, so yes there is a race on getting the relics between the heroes and the villans. So waiting months for the heroes will defenetly be a very wrong move. Yes Ruby, put Qrow in his place, because he wasen't looking out for anyone, he was drunk and done with the mission already after knowing Oz secret. Again there only option was stealing an Atlas airship, there wasen't any other option available, other options requiere more time and other exterial factors to work out, which wasen't the case at all. Also why are we talking about the livelihoods of Juane's sister and wife when thats not a point talk on the show at all, they don't even show any risk to their livelihood, except for the Leviathan, which the want at fault for bringing attention to it was Cordovin. Please, let's not bring imaginary points to the conversation. Ruby is not at all tone deaf. She didn't said doesn't need adults, you might want to check your ears. She said that they have been on pretty bad situations before and they manege to find a way out of them, by themselves, she then CLEARLY states that Qrow is welcome to help, but they are gonna do things their way. And thats exactly what happens and they defeated Cordovin, Adam and the Leviathan without the help of any adults. So Idk where you getting this information were she said she didn't need adults, because that is not what she said at all. Also don't forget the moments were the won battles by themselves. Volume 1, Volume 2, parts of Volume 3, Volume 4, the grim horse/rider thing. There are many examples of the heroes winning without the helps of adults, that doesn't mean in any way taht she said she didn't need them, Ruby said they are welcome to help, but they are gonna complete the mission with them or without them. How Ozpin's lies don't affect anything, they didn't learn about Dalem until volume 4 and no other huntsman/student knows about Salem. The only know that they are creatures of Grimm, they have never stated to any huntsman (except the ones from the inner circle) that grimm are eternal and that they have a master. The only ones that know that are the ones thats were close to Ozpin. So yes, Ozpin is so wrong for making child soldiers, go on an unwinnable war without 0 knowledge of what they are fighting. Also yes, his secrets change everything, because is on volume 6, that the heroes learn that Salem is inmortal and she can't be destroyed, in other words is an impossible fight, because no matter what, Salem can't be stopped and that the one that was organizing the fight and training huntsman to fight against Salem, has no plan at all on how to stop her. So all that they have been doing, for now is been for nothing, because there is literally no way on stopping her, unless they find a way (which by the end of the series I think they will, but we don't know that yet). So yes Ozpin lying and having this very important secrest was very wrong from his part. Again, trauma is NOT AN EXCUSE, to lie or to hurt other poeple. While I can sympathize and understand were Ozpin is coming from, that doesn't give a pass to lie and hold the truth forever, specially when this people are willing to risk their life for the cause, I think they deserve to know that is an impossible one. Also Ozpin has to hold himself accountable for his actions, actions have consequences, don't expect people to be happy about lies, specially when they are risking their lifes. Lastly, again Yang didn't lie, is not important for us to see that conversation because is completely obvious that the maiden was Raven. The vault was open and Bernald died and Cinder gone, meaning the only one that could have been able to open the vault was Raven. Yang has absolutely no reason at all to lie about her mom being the maiden, it doesn't makes sense to her character and also doesn't make snese writing wise, because they literally were enemies during volume 5, so why would Yang cover for her mom? This is just simply a detailed that was told off screen, because the writters expect the viewrs to be intelligent enough that Yang obviously told them that her mom was the maiden, but apparently the writers of the show overestimated the audience, and is clearly that some poeple need everything spoon fed. Well is clearly that people need to be spoon fed so bad. Team RWBY doesn't have to mention Leo betraying them as a reason to not trust Iron wood because we as the audience know that the heroes will be a lot more cautious, because literally in volume 5 they were betrayed by one of the members of Ozpin's inner circle. So again, why Iron Wood should be an exception? The situation, when they arrive at Atlas wasen't good at all and they were betrayed, by the past headmaster. They were being careful and waited till Iron Wood prove himself of bein a person that can be trusted and imediatly after he prove himself Oscar tell him everything, very different of what Ozpin did, which he never plan on telling the truth to the team. They are not hypocrites, they just don't know who to trust, specially when Ozpin had a lot of very huge secrets, Leo betrayed them and Iron Wood was acting very paranoid. Idk about you, but is very normal to act with caution specially when you ahve been betrayed and lied to.
1:43:08 😮 The corpse! I think it’s the village’s huntsman! Picture frame: 1:25:52. One day he must have figured out what was happening, went down there and never returned, and because of the Grimm’s ability, nobody cared!
I totally agree that if you haven’t experienced something then you don’t get an opinion on it Like my sister hates the harry potter books says they’re boring but never even opened one so I tell her to shut up
Now this is a story I’m going to tell About a young girl that fell under a spell Her name was Salem and I will not skim How she was cursed to become the Queen of all Grimm In a Kingdom, set very far away In a tower was where she spend all of her days Imprisoned all her life by a dad with no chill Nothing to do but practice her magic skill Until a man named Ozma busted her out They made a pretty good team there was no doubt They then set on out for adventures ahead But Ozma got sick and poof that’s the end Salem begged for him back to end her strife But the Light God said that’s the circle of life She went to his brother and got her man back But the Gods rescinded and she launched an attack They made her immortal because they’re total wads So she chose to lead an army against the gods They left after removing all the humans for treason Oh yeah I forgot they were Dragons for some reason After some years people came back with no magic Faunus were there too but their lives were more tragic Salem was secluded to hide her disgrace Until Ozma returned but with a new face With her lover back in hand Salem gained a new ambition To Lead the world, but that was not in Ozma’s mission Regardless of that their power made people ogle Then they had some kids, counting four in total Things were seemingly great for our favorite witch Then their kids starting showing a magic twitch She found her family try to leave without a word So she blew them all up, now that’s absurd Salem was left alone again to stew in her hatred And Ozma kept coming back with his worldview jaded So that’s the story we did not skim How a lonely girl became the queen of all Grimm
Notice what the God of Light was saying: If humanity was living in harmony and wandered the path of Light, everything would be good. But if they choose the path of destruction, they're gonna be wiped out for good. Essentially, he is saying "Only use my gifts (Creation and Knowledge) and don't use my brother's gift's (Destruction and Choice (to choose between the path of Light and Dark))" Makes me wonder if his brother even knows about this ultimatum....
I won't lie, I wouldn't distrust Ozpin immediately after him lying about the relic and him keeping secrets for the simple fact that everyone does have secrets and stuff they keep close, he does trust Ruby and everyone else, but he didn't feel comfortable to let all his secrets out into the open, that takes time and judging him for that is unfair, also when it comes to Jinn saying there is no way to kill Salem, Jinn can only give answers to questions that have known answers, so, when Ozpin asked if there was a way to kill/stop Salem, the only known answer is that there isn't a way to kill/stop her, but that is a trick answer, yes there isn't a way to kill/stop her currently, key word is currently, so, there still is a possible way to kill/stop her, they only need to find/create a new answer to the question
so glad you guys kept up with rwby and making your own decisions instead of just listening to the random hate people like to throw around for some reason. genuinely such a good addition to this community, yall are awesome.
What is it the haters are saying? This volume was fucking awesome! Like its noticible that they focus less on the physics of fighting and... Chill character development but holy damn, this was a blast!
I love how the God of Darkness was so happy that a human finally came to him for once he granted her request with no hesitation or strings attached
I wonder how everything would have gone down if Salem had actually gone to him first.
Childish
@@OJMayo-wbk3Exactly this.
If you look closely, Adam's aura broke after Yang hit him with the big punch. And Adam's brand says "SDC" - Schnee Dust Company

Still couldn’t they had to run!!!

Wasn´t it also that they couldn´t figure out how to use them? Like how to include them in the story thematically without them being just a throwaway monster

Which would further feed into her not having learned her lesson, because her initial attempts against them were acts of spite, as described by Jinn
And as such, if/when the gods are brought back - whether by the Relic aspect or otherwise - I imagine it would ultimately lead to her curse being lifted, and then just killed, if the RWBY crew can persuade them/they realize this. Because if someone's not going to learn their lesson anyway, better to just rid yourself of them one way or the other
@@Omegafire17
I could very easily imagine the Dark god coming back, taking one look around, seeing the Grimm under her control, and not having any of it. Something like "Did you really think that manipulating us would be as easy as manipulating these humans? You use MY creations as your weapons to stir them against each other, and you think I WON'T SEE THROUGH IT?!"
The god of darkness isn't going to let her off easy when he comes back. Dude is ruthless.
there's also the matter of where or not the Brothers will agree if she learned her lesson even if everyone else thinks so
“She understood that she had a responsibility to try” I think that’s my favourite quite in the entire show.

So a couple of fun facts about the fight scenes:
1. The fight scene flashback between Maria and Tock ( British crocodile lady) lasts for EXACTLY 60 seconds. (The fight was originally going to be longer but crwby were only allowed 60 seconds so utilised that to their advantage)
2. The fight choreography in the scene between Adam and Yang is actually recycled animation from Monty that was originally going to be in v3 but got cut.
I’ll add that parts of Yang v Adam are original and the whole sequence wasn’t just Monty
Very impressive how quick you guys connected the God of Light to Ruby's Silver Eyes
3:12:35
If you look closely when Yang craters Adam you can see his aura break underneath the dust cloud

Re: Monty's notes: CRWBY had previously stated that Monty had general story beats plotted out as far as Volume 12, although he also had a tendancy to include new concepts and ideas (e.g. the _Maidens_ (!)) on very short notice.
2:07 Bro is 2 volumes slow, we’ve seen that at the start of volume 4
@@minhavez6780 I feel like its heavily hinted the kids died.
@@jonasquinn7977 Bro was LITERALLY tasked by the Gods to stop her.
You guys are lifesavers, I was dying of boredom

Before that he didn't even entertain the idea of working with humans
In the same episode he also tells everyone to forget about Blake and that he's going alone back to Mistral. At this point Blake and Adam weren't revealed to be romantic, only that he was her fallen mentor
And thirdly it was established in season 1 by Blake that terrorism, killing innocents and causing fear was the only thing working against discrimination, that's how bad it was
People's problems with Adam as a character and their sympathy to him and desire for redemption comes from the way how badly he was set up in the beggining compared to what his character ended up being
He wasn't in the first volumes a lot but what we saw is him being forced to partnership with humans exactly because she was ready to kill his men, implying he cares about them in some capacity, him outright displaying that Blake isn't important to him to the point of obsession and that he's willing to leave her alone.
Adam: (gets stabbed from the front and back simultaneously, breaks his back on a rock and falls into the base of a churning waterfall)

Volume 6 actually has some of my favorites fights since Volume 3 and fun fact the Adam vs Yang fight has left over fight animation from Monty
Ruby is only a couple months shy of 17, Weiss and Yang are 19, and Blake is 18.

Honestly I didn't even notice any of that. With it being a fairytale-esque retelling of the past it almost fits it in a weird way.
The more we learn about the Gods the more I would have been like, screw it, keep the Relics locked up, Salem is literally the lesser of 2 evils.
It's not just fifty people but supposedly united armies of the whole humanity of that time. It's just in 3d so they can't draw an army with of people
Gods still went overboard though
At least someone has the decency to speak the truth
@@ReshiramMaster14it's an opinion. by definition it can't be true or untrue.
Ozpin was afraid to reveal secrets for many reasons. And RWBY proved all of them
Hell just look how Raven and Lionheart prove he was correct to hide it
Tell that to Pyrrha.

"We're waiting for a miracle but for now we'll stand and fight."
20:26, Rising, the intro (and one of my favorites) a stark contrast to Miracle, and a song that very much resembles team Rwby's mindset at the end of v6.
"The sky is turning dark, Light is fading fast, but we won't surrender."
Episode 5, The coming storm (1:21:33) One Thing.
Atonement day is finally here!"
It's also one of my favorite songs ever.
"I'm here I'm your savior I'll be lionized"
Not a song, but shout out to episode 6 for revealing quite possibly my third favorite grimm, the Apathy.
And then episode 7 with an amazing fight scene.(and the tidbit of rising that played when the reached the top of that hill.therw are so many little leitmotifs sprinkled throughout the entire series that I still find new ones to this day, i would suggest checking out Changyuraptor for more stuff on it)
Episode 9, Lost: (2:26:52) Forever Fall. (Also played in credits)
This song, this scene...
"But this will always be
It's my destiny
To be in love with you."
Even while watching this reaction, I still couldn't stop the tears.
Episode 11: The Lady in the Shoe (yes, like the fairytale) ( 2:52:20 )
Big Metal Shoe.
This one, this one is a banger. I used to be able to sing the rap from memory, but uh, not without consequences. So many fairy tale references in this one (the medium, not the anime, I think) that it was very hard to pick out a set of lyrics.
"Mirror, mirror, who will lose it all? Soundly whip those children or your cradle's gonna fall"
Once again, this entire fight scene is one of my favorites
Episode 13: Our way.
"I made a vow I'm not alone Not dying now we're protecting our own."
Now before we get to the final song i would like to give a mention to the Remixes of past songs on the v6 ost.
"Don't be afraid
Get up, get going, a step every day
I'll meet you there
When we strive, we transcend
Even death cannot end our climb"
See you guys in v7, hopefully my heart will be repaired come v8 and 9.
It's so fucking refreshing to see a group _get it_ (it being the entire situation at the end of this volume)
None of this happens in this volume
...if you meant to leave this comment on a different volume, please put it there instead.
@@trellyv8826bro…….wrong volume 😭
@@trellyv8826 I'm not gonna spoil things by arguing with you but if you didn't see that character going that route that's on you, they were telegraphing it in volume 2 XD
@@bulletsandbracelets4140Real. Once you've seen volume 8, every rewatch of the show is full of foreshadowing and the character flaws that led the guy down that terrible path he took.
Sidenote, RWBY gets a lot of flack regarding its writing, but I don't think most of it holds any water, because on a rewatch the show is so full of foreshadowing and hinting and other stuff you might never pick up on during a first viewing.
Maria reminds me of my own grandma so much
I don't know what to comment but I love this series 😩
Yeah Adam is home for good. I know a lot of people thought Cinder died at the end of volume 5 but Adam is actually gone
*gone
did anybody catch him calling neopolitan "cosmopolitan" 😭
Other shows: let’s give the characters heterochromia to signal they’re unique!
The Chad RWBY: let’s give this random one-off character PROSTHETIC TEETH.
they *do* give a character heterochromia... and then decide that's not enough and make her mute and near-impossible to hit lol
It was so fun watching volume 6 again with you 🤗I can't wait for vol 7
It would be great if you saw " World of Remnant" they explain things about this world in more depth, they are usually short videos 👀

geezus, i wish RUclips allowed us to give special likes or something to people who take the time to comment this sorta stuff.
as a compromise here you go:
I loved that they brought Jen Brown back to voice the "red haired woman". Come on Rooster Teeth, everyone in the FNDM shouted "Pyrrha's Mom!" through their tears.
I only recognize like 2 VAs here. Vic and Micheal Dismuke, I don't recognize any of the other VAs.
Adams aura popped/broke after the semblance punch from Yang when she took his sword.
Salem mainely need to accept responcibility for her action and as long as she is grimm there is no way to do it
I feel so sorry for Oz his past life was so miserable he deserves better he did not need tell about his past life it’s to much for him
"it's a shame really, he seemed like quite the ambitious fellow. always coming up with a new way to beat the odds" and then ruby walks into frame. and what took him and everyone else out? apathy. you can't say RWBY has poor writing with subtle nods like that. also at the end of v3 arrow tells ruby that she's special like her mom was implying summer had silver eyes too
47:39 "on, off, on, off" Its like Patrick turning Roger's light bulb on and off "life, death, life, death"
It's beyond played out and exhausting.
they’re kinda popping off immensely immediately recognizing the god of lights power looked like ruby’s eyes
eric going to “well first they would have to purify her” DAMN THATS WHAT WEVE BEEN SAYING!!!
The Emerald and Mercury convo /scene is underrated imo. ❤kind wish we at least got to know what his semblance was 👀
We don’t talk enough about how much of an assholes the gods are.
@@BrittanyArtPoetry Oh, and, not an issue, but I was actually responding to OPs points, hence the quotes from that post.
Season 6 Episode 3 is one of my favorite episodes of RWBY to see people's reactions to.
Still alive
Also, what drew Levi towards them wasn't just Cordovin's anger towards RWBY and Co, but also the massive amount of fear/panic that Cordovin's mech and fight caused. During the fight, the show pans over to the city's populace being worried as the ground shakes and whatnot. Cordovin's arrogance and rage was just the spark that lit a giant beacon to the city.
@@KyleAllen001 I don't know man, maybe just don't steal military property from the military to essentially secretly enter Atlas since you're not cleared to do so. When they closed the borders to prevent that kind of thing
Especially when you were given several other options to enter such as sending one of your own to the city so she could be given the clearance for the whole party. And it's not like they don't have a strong experienced animal shapeshifter who could be hidden in a bag or a suitcase and who can bodyguard their teammate in case any problem will arise
Clearly Cordovin overreacted and is insufferable however what did they expect?
The original music for the series is good, though, so that's something.
don't know if it's been answered here or on Patreon already, but... Yang's bike is powered on dust (probably at minimum fire, perhaps wind as well)
I mean, everything is powered by dust. Literally all technology in Remnant is dust.
Thanks. Just thanks❤
@1vis You're welcome?
She never said Salem can’t be killed, she just said ozpin couldn’t stop her, doesn’t mean someone else can’t
if you have seen volume 8 we have literally seen her get turned into a stain on the ground and just regenerate from it, and Oz was NOT the one who stained her.
@Lord_Valmathar It doesn’t necessarily mean “anyone who isn’t Oz”, it implies Salem _can_ be killed, but only by some means unavailable to Oz.
I love all seasons but this season has some of my favorite episodes. Iykyk
I JUST FINISHED MY FINALS AND I'M FINALLY FREE THIS WAS THE PERFECT GIFT THANK YOU YOURE GONNA LOVE VOLUME 6
Ah, the season where it's revealed my GOAT Ozpin did nothing wrong. I've been waiting for the reaction.
They didn’t know what Qrow was going to do
To them he was Ozpin’s greatest agent and before this Ozpin has been truthful and a huge help
It was more of a show of how much they respect Ruby and how wanted Qrow to know to tread carefully because of the bombshell we were getting
Right after Ozpin lunges at Ruby so it’s not like they were wrong in that it was a tense situation
I genuinely have forgotten how amazing this season was but the last 3 (7,8,and 9) are like sooooooo good I don't think I've laughed, cried, and had more fun than in those seasons! Be prepared and have emotions in check shit about to get crazyyyyyyyyy!
I've never noticed this before but the statue at 4:02 is LITERALLY the brothers
The discussions about stopping the journey probably wouldn’t have happened the way they did without the emotional interference from the apathy tbh
That's her Color Rule Name
Also she's based on Achilles who crossdressed in his mythos and when he was pretending to be a woman he took name Pyrrha for himself because of his flaming red hair. Since JNPR are based off famous historical/mythical figures who crossdressed or pretended to be opposite gender at one point of their lives, she mostly alludes to Achilles
@@Titanfell-d3i that's a very good point as well!
'I understand your pain, but you demand of me that which I cannot make so'
Not only can an immortal being whose only connectons are immortal NOT understand her pain...
I’ve seen a lot of people say 6 is their least favorite, but I never understood why. However I can say, it only goes uphill from here
@@Pokemichael It's the volume where heroes start truly controversial reckless and arguably stupid decisions such as needlessly stealing airship from the military when they had other options and weren't pressed for time. That in turn leads to Leviathan attacking the whole city because they decided to steal military property
It's also the volume where they start being very self-righteous. Or Ironwood in the future
adam fully became a pure incel instead of being the badass character he originally was when monty was writing.
@@TheDarkOne1920 This post has so many things wrong it's just not funny
They literally had a choice to send Weiss in.
They could wait until James gets them and wait for arranged escort
Also heroes DIDN'T KNOW Salem's next target. In fact she was targeting Vacuo next but switched targets mid-season. Viewers know her next target. Heroes don't. They don't watch their own show
"Ruby put him in his place" excuse me but you sound disgusting.
And if so, then she's biggest hypocrite in the group
And RWBY never bring up Leo as excuse to not trust Ironwood.

The corpse! I think it’s the village’s huntsman!
Picture frame: 1:25:52.
One day he must have figured out what was happening, went down there and never returned, and because of the Grimm’s ability, nobody cared!
IM SO EXCITED U GOT HERE TO THIS SEASON !!
to keep my thought complied i will only reply to myself 🙏and timestamps aswell if needed;
there wouldn't be gas for the bike but dust, more likely fire dust specifically, everything runs on dust, the bullets are even dust
I totally agree that if you haven’t experienced something then you don’t get an opinion on it
Like my sister hates the harry potter books says they’re boring but never even opened one so I tell her to shut up
Now this is a story I’m going to tell
About a young girl that fell under a spell
Her name was Salem and I will not skim
How she was cursed to become the Queen of all Grimm
In a Kingdom, set very far away
In a tower was where she spend all of her days
Imprisoned all her life by a dad with no chill
Nothing to do but practice her magic skill
Until a man named Ozma busted her out
They made a pretty good team there was no doubt
They then set on out for adventures ahead
But Ozma got sick and poof that’s the end
Salem begged for him back to end her strife
But the Light God said that’s the circle of life
She went to his brother and got her man back
But the Gods rescinded and she launched an attack
They made her immortal because they’re total wads
So she chose to lead an army against the gods
They left after removing all the humans for treason
Oh yeah I forgot they were Dragons for some reason
After some years people came back with no magic
Faunus were there too but their lives were more tragic
Salem was secluded to hide her disgrace
Until Ozma returned but with a new face
With her lover back in hand Salem gained a new ambition
To Lead the world, but that was not in Ozma’s mission
Regardless of that their power made people ogle
Then they had some kids, counting four in total
Things were seemingly great for our favorite witch
Then their kids starting showing a magic twitch
She found her family try to leave without a word
So she blew them all up, now that’s absurd
Salem was left alone again to stew in her hatred
And Ozma kept coming back with his worldview jaded
So that’s the story we did not skim
How a lonely girl became the queen of all Grimm
i know by the time this is uploaded you guys should be starting Volume 8. So i cannot wait to see your guys reaction to the military and specials
Notice what the God of Light was saying:
If humanity was living in harmony and wandered the path of Light, everything would be good. But if they choose the path of destruction, they're gonna be wiped out for good.
Essentially, he is saying "Only use my gifts (Creation and Knowledge) and don't use my brother's gift's (Destruction and Choice (to choose between the path of Light and Dark))"
Makes me wonder if his brother even knows about this ultimatum....
hmmm
3:31:23 the wicked witch and her flying monkeys. 🖤❤️🤍
