So I've been thinking a lot lately as to why Captain Marvel just doesn't do it for me as a hero, why she just doesn't hit the mark, so today what I wanted to do is outline my issues withe the character and how we can spin that into a compelling story for Captain Marvel 2 !!!

I like your explanation about something that will challenge their power, there's no problem with overpowered heroes the only thing is there must be something that will be an obstacle to her and in that way she'll realize something.
I absolutely love this pitch, especially showing how Monica gets her powers and rhodie sacrifices himself saving others...both during black history month! I would have liked to see a pitch for the post credit sceneS and I say plural bc I was surprised and disappointed that CM 1 didn't have a 2nd post credit scene setting up CM 2...
Marvel memes always have two post-credit’s scenes, the first one being a serious set up and the second one being a joke.
I was 12 when Iron Man came out now I'm a 24 year old Man so yeah Iron Man is great and holds a great deal of emotional importance to me I grew up with the mcu like many

Me too, when i was 12 it blew my mind to see how Marvel managed to bring Iron Man to life and the movie CG holds up very well to date, even better than some MCU movies like Black Panther. Now I'm 24 and Iron Man is still in my top 5 Marvel movies, including Logan, Spiderman 2 and Winter Soldier.

I hope The Marvels brings up Carol’s “punch first, ask questions later” mentality at some point, maybe there can be a scene where Kamala accidentally startles Carol and Carol blasts her and while Kamala knows and understands that’s just Carol’s instincts and forgives her for it Carol is still horrified by what she did, she not only just blasted a kid but a kid who is her biggest fan, who looks up to her, because when faced with a problem she just thinks “punch/blast it” and she goes through the movie changing that including with whatever the two of them and Monica face where she tries something other than punching it unless the villain of the movie makes it clear that’s the only way they’re stopped
I have high amounts of expectation for this movie to be good, I can imagine in my mind how can Captain Marvel be actually LIKABLE, and I hope the director dont lack the amount of joyness to the audience

I believe Natasha should’ve gotten her sole movie first. Hell, even Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) could’ve taken this spot. But I do agree with your pitch though.
Alternatively you just don't make a sequel and have rogue take her powers and just make a movie about her because she's just a better character
The way you analyze superhero movies and shows never cease to amazing me. You manage to put to words the frustrations I had with Captain Marvel and also gave an amazing way to fix them. Keep doing your great work.

My idea for Captain Marvel is that she's still a powerful hero, but she's also lonely, but refuses to admit it. She also has a binge watching problem and a secret talent for solving puzzles. She also learned multiple languages over the years. This shows her brainy side without making her a genius. I also had an idea for a heat to heart conversation between her and Spider-Man. These are my ideas

Coming from 2023 after the Marvels. I wish this was the movie that we got
The first movie I will defend because I loved it. Now I admit there are faults no question that you definitely pointed out. I put this movie in the mid-tier of all the movies. Better than Ant man 2. Ragnarok squeezes by but just barely for me. Anyway your right about Carol needing to smile more in certain situations. Her smiling with Thor and at Spidey in Endgame put a smile on my face as well cause I was happy she's able to interact with other characters. Keep her brashness and cockiness but as time goes on she thinks her way through. I like Carol in the third act cause it showed she's finally free and explore who she really is in the future. Now your idea for the sequel is great but I would change the third act slightly. Overall I feel Carol will be better in the future and can't wait for her to interact with BP, DS, Wanda, and all the other new heroes as well.
I can't believe I watched a video about this movie that didn't automatically piss me off! Thanks for that, I do like this take on her. However, I don't like the idea of Rouge getting her powerset at any point in time. Mostly because when she did have a "powers" she never went Binary-form and since the MCU is so interconnected that means that visually Rouge would have to glow like Captain Marvel if she absorbed all her powers and even be able to shoot the yellow beam stuff out of her hands. I just don't recall Rouge being used as a cosmic scaled up character in most of her outings. Anyhow, good video!

I never liked her in any film until I saw her in Shang Chi in that film for that brief moment I got the Carol Danvers I wanted she came across as well closer to who she was in Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

You have some nice ideas, but I really want to see Carol spending more time in space. Planet hopping, meeting different alien species. Something lika a loose adaptation of the Annihlus wave and just have it centred on Carol.
I love this idea but I think they are doing something different because it looks like the Cree and coming back and Monica and ms marvel are in it
SUPER FRAME thanks for making Carol go to an arc to make her interesting and utilizing the problem with her first movie.
For me the movie was like if you take all of the MCU movies, and rounded up all the average moments from all those movies.
The 2nd act was great though, I want more superheroes just travelling across the country while the plot is also moving, that's probably why Far From Home is my favorite MCU movie.
I like this idea. Carol in the MCU was a bland character for me but you nicely found how a sequel could make her more interesting.
One adjustment I would like to make is that the antagonist Skrulls shouldn't be out to conquer planets for the sake of conquest. They want revenge on the Kree for destroying their world. The Kree took everything from them, so they want to return the favor, and don't care how they do it since in their mind, they are saving the universe by ridding it of the Kree Empire. They are in essence a dark reflection of what Carol could become if she resorts to violence as the solution to everything.

Let Rogue come in 5 minutes into the movie and absorb Captain Marvel's powers to put her into a coma/amnesia state.

Why not make her a villain? Embrace the dislike from the audience as an asset. Marvel movies tend to have boring villains. Captain Marvel already has what most villains struggle to achieve.
It would be divisive, but you could redeem her eventually.

I would love to see "Secret Invasion" on the big screen, but I don't believe this will happen in the next 10-15 years.
The Skrulls were turn into a representation of "real life" immigrants. So, a movie like Secret Invasion would be seen by the click-bait media as "anti-immigration". Marvel would never risk to get a "anti-immigrants" stamp in this era.
Well they are now doing it! As a Disney+ series though. I can't wait. I'm sure the Skrulls we see in Captain Marvel will still be good guys.

While I really like this concept of needing balance, I think a better character to teach her this lesson would be Ms. Marvel. She could teach Captain Marvel how to be more diplomatic while Captain Marvel teaches Ms. Marvel how to be more confident and stand for herself. To have the person who teaches the protagonist a lesson be a villain, it subconsciously tells the audience that the message is incorrect. While you may point to Thanos and say his message was correct (to some) he did not teach any super hero to embrace genocide or to adopt his mindset. To have a fellow hero teach the lesson would be more efficient in my mind. That way you can still provide the moral lesson without engaging in confusing moral complexities that come with the Villain teaching the hero a lesson. Of course, I agree that the hero must use this new found lesson to beat their adversary, just that this lesson needs to come from a fellow hero
After watching the What If episode of Thor VS Carol, the entire episode is the usual dick-mean-overpower Carol, but at the end, my jaw dropped on how nice she was being to Thor on tricking Freya. I want that Carol, in the movies she is the sterotype of mary sue, and not "feminism sucks" or whatever, shes a feminist since her creation, just make her likeble and want me to actually care about her, even if she stills has the sarcastic tone and the god-level power, I just dont feel she as a person deserves the power compared to Wanda or Quake. Give me and us a reason to like her like we like comics/animation Superman, and not DCEU Superman
I used to like Carol Danvers as Ms. Marvel, but after becoming Captain Marvel I couldn't find any likable quality about her at all. Marvel tried to push her so hard in the comic as a flagship character yet most people don't seem to care that much about her given how most of her comic range meh to terrible, that it created this superficial feel of popularity that the media keep pushing when her first movie came out. Not to mention the media love protecting their queen Brie, even though her acting has mostly been meh with only one breakout movie role and her attitude is arrogant at best (almost like in the movie).
Marvel wanted to beat DC at making female superhero movie so much that they forgot to make a compelling character and a good movie first, not to mention pushing the whole feminist angle in their marketing that it came off as cringy and bad. The only thing that would make me interested in a Captain Marvel sequel is to have Rogue took all her power and let her learn humility and responsibility, and probably cast a more likable actress who doesn't talk down on fans.

i overall liked the captain marvel movie but the one thing i hated was that they made skrulls the good guys...maybe they are setting the foundation of secret invasion,but whats the secret if they are working wth SWORD.....i hope we get a good plot twist of them operating under the skrull queen and many of them being bad and some of them being good....you cannot waste such great villains...Kevin Feige has got to have a plan
Interesting pitch. If they're going to power up Rambeau that's a smooth way to implement it. I just really struggle to get on board with doing the Secret Invasion and Avengers Annual 10 stories without Spider-Woman.

@@frenchyfrenchsilver1331 Monica has the ability of energy absorption, energy projection, becoming any form of energy, flight at speed of light, invisibility, & intangibility and if she and Carol were to fight she would win because the energy that Carol shoots from her hands Monica can turn herself into that energy

captain marvel in marvel is powerful but if you put her being badass straight in the first movie just like that , did the writer ever think of trilogy perspective?
make her cocky because she strong but all strong character seem out of touch with weak aspect of living being such as love and not trusting other, try to make her appreciate love of live and start make journey to put trust on other people , that would be awesome and more relatable.
Hey Antman and the Wasp was great it should not be compared to Dark World or Captain Marvel it is the film you'd expect if you watch the first one.
This is great and all. But don’t kill war machine, I know that they need to get rid of his character, but I think they should do something better than sacrificing himself in a captain Marvel movie. Another thing I disagree with is the fact that war machine is the “secret skrull.” The two really aren’t friends, so I don’t see the plot twist being that effective. Maybe instead we could have Monica survive the blast, tag along to help Carol fix her mistake, and then she turns out to be a skrull. I think that would make for a better plot twist.
Not to nit pick but you do understand that throughout the movie we are told that Carole has emotional troubles. And we also see her smile a few times.
We never see those "emotional troubles" they talk about though. Gotta show it.

Capt Marvel I feel she was unable to have the emotions you are looking for from someone because her mind was altered by the Cree and when she ran into the Skrulls was put into far worse of a emotional and mental state.

Ok if you were 9 years in 2008 then you would be born in 1999 or unless in 2008 you were 9 but turning 10 then you were born in 1999 then which means in 2024 you would be 25 or 26 years old
She just isn't a likeable character, even in the comics. As a fan I wanted to see the male Mar-Vell. Even a little bit, knowing he is out there trying to save worlds from the Kree empire or something. I'm patiently waiting for Rogue to hold onto her until she is unconscious.

Honestly Carol Danvers is just a terrible character to have used as a role model she's a Jack booted fascist in the comic books with constiently showing no regard for the the rights of the individual. They should have gone for Spectrum as the Captain Marvel for the MCU, former New Orleans PD detective, who has a strong moral code even when pressured by her superiors not follow through with said moral code.
Strong role models for little girls dont have to be women . Luke Skywalker was a role model for little girls . The Mandalorian season 2 episode 16 is proof of that . Grown Men and Women crying in the youtube reaction videos . Women saying when they were growing up how much they looked up to Luke . I highly doubt Captain Marvel will get the dame reaction when this generation of girls grow up .
Phase four is kind of disappointing so far. I loved Loki, shang chi, and spiderman, but everything else was kind of lame or just... Meh. If marvel can't step it up soon it'll be kinda weird

The biggest problem i had with the movie was how the writers address captain marvels abrasive personally. She is arrogant and self righteous, yet the writers expect you to like her. Plot contrivances to establish a power fantasy is the definition of a Mary Sue.
I expect the writers expected the audience to like her because of some feminist cultural agenda. The strong feminist character worked for the minority of people who love that agenda. To everyone else, she is an arrogant brat who is rewarded with God powers.
This feminist personality works well in a setting with insane bigotry toward women. It would work well on some sexist alien planet. Having her deal with her abrasive personality on earth might be a fun way to go.
This could almost redeem her character, and that's why I have no faith they will do anything like this in the MCU, they think Carol is already perfect, and if they did change her the sjw mob would go mad and demand the devolve her back

How dense are you? The amount earned has nothing to do with how "great" a movie is.
I’m confused.... Aren’t the skrulls good guys? Why would the sequel be about them being villains again? Wouldn’t it make more sense to follow up with the Kree or maybe what space adventures she had during the time skip? I don’t know. Skrulls with bombs feels like a step backwards rather than forwards. If we want to put something she cares about in danger why not the skrull ship or Nick Furry? Those are things she is heavily invested in. I’m not getting where this plot is building from. I like the idea the shapeshifters are the good guys it’s a fun concept and we do what? Walk that back? For what? I’m not trying to crap on the idea it just seems like it comes out of nowhere and I think we can do better than a Star Wars battle. I don’t think it’s awful or anything I just don’t get where it’s coming from.

1. Carol Danvers must reach closure with her family, let’s heal the estranged daughter but
2. Cut the “it isn’t made for them” subtext and begin mending fences as the “woke” thing is winding down
3. Get. BETTER writers , male or female and stop doubling down if you are fairly critiqued.
4. Listen to the fans and have relatable non-goody comic relief side kicks.
Well Marvel is already working on the third one and they promised the second one will never happen again
