As much as I've grown to loving Captain Marvel, I think that Marvel missed an opportunity not Giving That Movie to Nova.
I could make an entire video on how everything captain marvel has done nova could also do/has done in the comics, flies through ships ✅ shoots energy from hands ✅ glows yellow ✅ disappearing from earth for 10+ years to be a space hero ✅ + introducing him in between between IW and endgame would’ve been perfect to tell this tale

When Thor said "He decimated Xandar" wouldn't be cool to see what actually happened to Xandar after of Thanos invasion? just Thor saying "poof, ur planet is ded" to the first guardians movie without even an emotion is just a missed opportunity for a Nova movie to see the perspective of the planet getting fucked up

That is an amazing idea and it really needs to happen.
Kevin Feige actually told an interviewer that Nova has immediate potential and they aren’t straying away from the cosmic side. I’ve always wanted Garrett Hedlund to play Richard Rider/Nova and Daisy Ridley to play the very underrated and underused character Ko-Rel.
To me that comment means nothing, he’s said that about every property that gets suggested to him 🤷🏻♂️

Well looks like THIS hasn’t aged so well either. We might still be getting Nova but it’s now two years later and not only are we not getting any Nova news, but also Marvel is definitely straying away from the cosmos towards the multiverse. I hope something changes tho, i would love to have Nova in the MCU and this is a perfect pitch!

Nova in MCU: luke skywalker journey, him going from spiderman esque to almost cyclops in attitude. A coming of age story for a character who wants the oportunity to proof his worth but grows out of his ego into a selfless hero of the cosmic marvel universe a star of hope in the universe. Also if they had done an older richard rider i can see him totally scolding peter quill for his attitude and aproach with the guardians, telling peter out right this isnt a game and he needs to grow up before his mistakes cause irrepairable damge hell regret all his life lile in endgame.

Thank you for this video, Nova (both of them) are among my favorite Marvel characters and it’s frustrating that there hasn’t been a follow-up to the Corp and Xandar since the brief mention in IW. Hopefully we see some Nova stories soon!

I bought Nova #1 when it first hit the stands on Tuesday June 15h, 1976. I was three months shy of being 15. I grew up a huge PP/Spidey and Hal Jordan/GL fan too. So I loved Nova also growing up. Watching the 1950's Rocketman/Commander Cody republic Serials in reruns on tv. Back then in the 70's 80's a young Dennis Quaid would of been perfect to play Richard Rider. Quaid was in Breaking Away in 1979 and Dreascape (1984). Today I'd cast a totally unknown who can act and who actually looks like Richard Rider. Back in 79 Marvel even put a ad in Variety magazine trying to get a Nova movie made.

I've said this before but Richard Rider is one of the most underrated characters in all of Marvel and should've taken Captain Marvel's spot in the universe.

Even though I grew up reading New Warriors , I think Sam Alexander has a much more compelling backstory and fits in better with the MCU. Sam's dad was a Nova Centurion and it ruined him. Inheriting a legacy of trauma and still being a hero. That's the story I want to see.
It'd be really cool if you did a small breakdown of your hypothetical timeline of the MCU, also love ur vids btw!

I love this pitch but if I ever did Nova, I would base it off of the Nova: Origin graphic novel about Sam Alexander but instead of a movie, make it a Disney+ series so we can have more time to expand more on Richard Rider and the history of the Nova Corps and Xander. I personally love your pitch a lot more though

Remember Xandar? It's the planet that got destroyed by Thanos in Infinity War. All of its inhabitants were perished except one. The survivor is Rohmann Dey. He brought the Xandarian World Mind when he escaped. His space ship crashed in planet Earth then he was rescued by a highschool football player named Richard Rider. Rohmann thinks Richard is the perfect candidate to become the superhero Nova so he gives the Xandarian World Mind to him to use its powers for good.
Richard Ryder should have been brought into the MCU during the Infinity saga. He's a Incredible underrated character with so much potential who needs more attention.

I can see this as a continuation to the cosmic side of marvel seeing that both eternals and captain marvel flopped and guardians of the galaxy 3 being the last for james gunn i think nova can fit this new role well as the cosmic side of marvel that seems to begin a new build up

This is a solid movie with great ideas on how a Nova movie should work for MCU. One nitpick though is that I think a missed opportunity with your video was not having Nova’s UMVC3 theme as part of the background music

I think a thing that probably won't happen but could be interesting is if a Nova movie addressed things like police and military reform,
Like after Thanos' invasion of Xandar, the Nova corps have become more militarized and have basically declared martial law across the galaxy, and it's up to Richard try to change them for the better?
A potential story would be sort of need to be a way to not hold a all in origin as the Nova story is sort of in the middle already with xandar destroyed I feel like your initial point of some Nova centurion chasing a some supervillain like in the comics to earth . But instead have him too injured to carry on so he has the xandarian world mind deputise Richard Ryder following the comics instructed to capture the villain . He brings it back to xandar this being before Thanos . Then it could like the Nova corps aren't convinced to let him be a Nova centurion . So Nova Prime allows him an opportunity to join by completing Nova centurion training where Roman day mentors him giving him the emotional connection to make it that much sadder when he died to Thanos. It could follow with the attack on xandar and see the epic fight between the Nova Corps and Xandar and have Richard Ryder be the last survivor in the whole Nova corps he becomes Nova Prime and the xandarian world mind uploads into him . he is leaving to warn earth he gets blipped once he returns he rockets to earth and as he arrives he catches a ship leaving which has Gamora in it they meet and start this love affair that happens in annihilation wave comics which adds emotional tension when Nova meets the guardians especially Peter .

I feel like if they do Nova in the mcu now they will start with Sam instead of Richard or they’ll have Richard be Sam’s mentor/ father figure in a buddy cop style Nova movie.
I would retcon Nova to have been in the MCU the whole time like Cpt. Marvel so that he could be an adult nova and he can train Sam Alexander as his buddy cop sidekick. I like introducing them as a pair instead of dragging out the introduction of multiple novas over several movies. I think richards backstory could be a flashback B plot in a Men in Black style buddy cop with him being the lead and Sam being the co-star.
That doesn't make any sense because the Nova we see in Guardians Of The Galaxy is nothing like the Nova in the comics, so to have Richard be Nova for some time doesn't make sense because he doesn't have a powered helmet yet. Just have the movie center around Richard Rider at the start of his journey and have him grow into an adult and a hero through his story. I don't mind "hero being a hero for some time" but it's becoming stale and just another lame scapegoat for Marvel to do because they don't want to do origin stories.

This actually makes sense, and the casting is real solid here. Youve done a great job explaining why marvel should utilize this opportunity to introduce Nova. However, I'd like to see an exact video of Sam Alexander as well and how it should be picked up by Marvel.
Depending on when this possible movie comes out, a post credits scene should definitely hint towards either Sam Alexander or Annihilation.

I can see most of the guardians dieing in guardians of the galaxy vol 3 and having starlord and gamora surviving so starlord could rebuild the team with Adam warlock, nova, and possibly silver surfer down the line .

I think Charlie Rowe would be a great Nova, the story is great, although I love Oscar Isaac I think Sean Penn can play that mentor role to perfection, but overall great video, it seems your the only person on RUclips that gives realistic fancastings.

I could see Worldmind taking on a relationship with Richard similar to the one that Konshu has with Marc/Steven. That might be one of the reasons they brought a writer from that series to work on it.

This is great. I think I would say do the entrance opening a little differently. I say start it on a black screen, with a voice over saying something like “Richard Rider it is critical you take action.” Then it’s a POV of eyes blinking open to a destroyed Xandar. Then flash back and forth to the past for the origin story and the present of a destroyed Xandar after Thanos destroyed it with Chitarui in the place of the Annihilation Wave. He is following directions to absorb the entirety of the Nova Corps. Then you have it run a similar story to annihilation conquest in the years following the snap. After GotG 3 you can have it start the beginnings of the Annihilation storyline.
I like a lot of what you did here. I'd like to see an arc not like the xandar in a bubble but RR initially giving up he powers to restart xandar in some manner then find out later the nova force was still inside him whem he is needed later such as for anhilliation

whilst I think thats very likely, I feel like Richard is a pillar of the marvel cosmic sphere that sam just isn't yet, richard has a legacy, a legacy that is grand and epic and needs to be shown on screen. Richard is more than a fun marvel hero, he's complex, traumatised, brave and rich with story possibilities
@@thesuperframe Yeah, but they will probably choose Sam Alexander over Richard Rider, for two reasons:
1) I heard some rumors (nothing official) that MCU have some plans for Nova and they were looking for a young actor to play him wanting for the hero to have a friendship with Spider man which fits more Sam's character than Richard (specially considering that Sam and Peter worked together in the Ultimate Spider man cartoon).
2) Sam's whole story, involving his father being a member of the Nova corps fits a central theme in most of this phase 4 movies about family and legacy (ex: Black Widow and Shang Chi)

Post Credits reading the Leader for Hulk 2 and the mid credits teasing Wolverine for Hulk 2. This also leads I’ll full hulks recruitment for the Avengers, despite him running away. Abomination does NOT get killed off.
It is an origin story of how the hulk came to be.
If they will follow the storyline of Infinity War the possible Nova would be Richard Rider. Rohman Dey, the last Xandarian, escaped from Xandar that destroyed by Thanos. He escaped along with the Xandarian world mind then his space ship crashed in Earth. Then Richard rescued Rohman. As a sign of gratitude Rohman Dey gives the Xandarian world mind to Richard and he teach him how to use its powers. Then Richard becomes the superhero known as Nova.

My only question regarding the pitch is how will the Blip affect the story structure? You already have a prologue taking place before Infinity War. Will the rest of the plot be taking place in less than a week?
I am writing my own Nova script based on your ideas and I was thinking, what if instead of Sphinx being the main villain, what if Zorr The Conquerer was the villain of this Nova movie. Since Thanos was the one who destroyed Xandar but it was saved by The Watcher, it would make sense to have Zorr come in and finish the job since he destroyed Xandar in the comics.

My goal is to become a filmmaker and at least direct either a Richard Rider or Sam Alexander Nova movie. I am very passionate and dedicated to the point where I have made story boards and scripts for both movies. I am more focussed on Sam Alexander.

i don’t think an origin movie is the shout at all rather i think he should be a character with an origin in a cosmic movie like guardians 4 or something like that because although i’d be interested in seeing his origin it’s just obvious that the movie would feel formulaic, set him up elsewhere then have him in his own movie occasionally flashing back maybe to give him more depth but have him already be the hero n have to become better to face this new threat in a similar way to Thor becoming stronger to beat Hela in Ragnarok
With access to the Power stone and learning from the Guardians of the Galaxy that the power can be used if it's shared with at least several ppl. The Nova Corps will try to duplicate how Captain Marvel gained her powers. Several years ago, Captain Carol Danvers rebelled against the control of the Kree's Supreme Intelligence AI. She helped the Nova Corps defeat the Kree Empire. Before Carol destroyed the Supreme Intelligencem she was trying to ensure that it can't control her again, she got help from the Nova Corps to understand how her powers work. Since the Nova Corps didn't have access to an infinity stone, it didn't seem to matter for Carol to share that information. With Quill giving up the power stone to the Nova Corps, they tried to duplicate the process in which Carol got her powers. Similar to the mind stone, there's an intelligence or sentience that resulted in Ultron and Vision. The Nova Corps initial experiments created the Xandarian WorldMind AI. Obviously there were failures that got a lot of volunteers burnt out until they figured out the number of ppl needed to share the power. As Thanos wiped out the empowered Nova Corps to get the power stone, the power from the dead Nova Corps merged with the lone surviving member and this empowered him to be near the same power level as Captain Marvel. By the time Nova had finished slowly getting the power up, it was too late as Thanos already wiped out half the universe and he was killed soon after he destroyed the Infinity stones.
