Really hope they don't do Cyclops dirty again for the mcu
Facts
It's the MCU I'm afraid. They have lost their understanding of their characters, for the sake of poorly written jokes.
They are nailed both Captain America and Starlord. They probably do the same with Scott (I could even see them following Peter Quill exemple and having the X-men film open with Scott origin, with him losing his parents, his brother and meeting Xavier and becoming his first student).
@@Skaiser_Wilhelm7938 Which is why Guardians 3 is a beloved film...
@@TheMaestroMizerous That's one director and one movie. One good movie isn't enough to save a declining franchise.
3 characters that deserve love and attention in the MCU: Cyclops, Rogue and Storm.
Neither Rogue or Storm should be in the first movie. Original team, Original Five.
I really hope they do something similar to X-Men Evolution. Really like how most of the characters were teenagers and there was no love triangle with Cyclops, Jean, and Wolverine.
I wan't them to really dive deep into the characters in the MCU I want to see cyclops jean night crawler storm ice man angel and rouge learn how to use there powers and become the x men together
I am a bit scared about that. Marvel seems doesn't look to animation no more and prefer to let the directors of their movies to do what they want. With or not knowing what they're actually doing (cough cough Kang the Conqueror cough cough)
EDIT: also that's why i think the DCU by James Gunn will beat the MCU seeing that he Will take inspiration from the animated shows JLU and Young Justice in particular.
@@OmariAndersonyou guys are asking too much. The mcu won’t do any of this. They’d just do some mediocre comedy like every marvel movie
@@damiantirado9616 man, GOTG Vol. 3 was certainly a comedy movie, as was Infinity War.
Let's not forget Captain America: The First Avenger or Captian America: The Winter Soldier. Those war films were basically the heights of Marvel comedy.
Even better if they have Brotherhood or the Hellions (Emma Frost's students) as teenagers villains , making the X-men film be basically Cobra Kai with super heroes
Cyclops and Logan should have a relationship kinda like what Rick and daryl have in TWD. Someone who is the clear leader and other one who's such a fan favorite but still knows his place every now and then.
Also like Steve Rogers and Tony Stark
I would personally trade Wolverine for Gambit
I would argue Storm is the second most important x-men, especially during Claremont run of the x-men (the blue print for x-men in general) Storm goes through a huge character journey during that run while Scott wanted to live his life after Jean’s death she had to take up role of the leader while going through her battles, still coming out of it changed but not broken
Would love to see that character arc adapted and her relationship with the others too
Yeah the frustrating thing about these videos is they never talk about Storm's leadership and how she blossomed as a character in that role being the protagonist of the X-Men in their most popular run.
He even summarizes her mistreatment as "not a queen" when that couldn't be furthest from the problem. She's a leader, and NOT just as second in command. Cyclops himself has recognised her as his equal and has led her own teams or the definitive X-Men team for decades.
To see her importance constantly be ignored is frustrating. If she's ever not a leader or important X-Men again in the MCU then they've failed her.
She and Cyclops should be the new Cap and Iron Man to put it simply.
@@shepardoakenshieldprime3357 Couldnt word it better myself. Nice one mate
What I love about Scott most is how everything about his character is driven by early childhood ostracization. He was a lonely boy who didn't want to be lonely anymore and didn't want anyone else to face the bullying and turmoil he faced. It's a relatable drive to a large portion of the audience, that connects the idea of the X-Men back to something we all experience.
I also love Scott's development, starting as the shy leader who believes he's too much of an outcast to ever fit in, and realizing that good leadership requires him to begin to believe in the potential that he can fit in. He begins to see the X-Men as his family and starts to feel more hostile towards a world that's out to destroy the closest thing he has to a family and takes action to prevent it. How he starts out a Magneto hater, believing in Xavier's dream, but then becomes more and more like Magneto as he feels the growing need to defend his family. All of this is from a boy who couldn't fit in and wants his family to not suffer the same fate.
Finally, I love how he eventually returns to the classic boy scout leader approach, after taking things way too far because of his unresolved issues with being an outcast. How he realizes that compassion is the only way to heal a corrupt world.
Along with characters like Cyclops I hope the Women of the X-men dont get done dirty. The X-men have so many great female characters. Rogue, Kitty, Emma, Jean, Mystique, Laura, Storm and more.
Poor scott gets so close to getting a movie centered around him way too many times just to get sized up by Wolverine, Mystique, Jean, Xavier, or Magneto lol
They literally did all of this for X-Men '97.
Goes to show that you REALLY do understand these characters. Great video!
Someone hasn't heard the news about Singer's criminal life.
This is why the 90s cartoon was so good. It centered around the whole X-men and fleshed them out. Wolverine shouldn’t always be the focus when you got more powerful and interesting mutants to explore
x-men would work better as a live action tv series then a movie
@@ektran4205 Or a whole shared universe of movies. Fox could have had a series as big as the MCU just based around X-Men properties if they had just done it right.
@@ElvenRaptor legion
@@ektran4205 Not even close.
Original Trilogy Cyclops and Jean were REALLY poorly handled, especially in the first movie. Jean's biggest scene in that movie is nearly being killed by having Toad cover her face in green snot and Cyclops' biggest contribution is saving her and then HELPING Wolverine deliver the final blow to Magneto
And even that last shot, Marsden had to put his foot down and argue with Singer to let him have SOMETHING to do as the leader. 3 of the most powerful and skilled X-Men beaten by TOAD of all people was so absurd and cringey, it completely ruined the climax for me.
I do not think I could make a bad X-Man movie with this. This seems more like a deep character analysis of Cyclops and how to start to write a good X-man movie. I like it.
''Plan B implies we only have 26''
God that line is so fucking cool
I love the idea that each costume looks unique to the person wearing them. I feel like in the MCU every costume looks as though it was bought from the same store with the same design details and tropes. The X-Men should stand out, Jubilee shouldn't have a jacket covered in lines and details, it should just be a jacket. They need to look not only unique from each other but from the rest of the marvel universe as a whole. It would be really interesting to have the actors have their own input on the suits and add designs that they think are cool like the characters would do to their outfits in universe instead of having one guy design the costume for every character.
I'm in no rush for new X-Men movies. I want them to take their time and work out the story in a neat and tidy package.
They should do an Xmen series. Mini episodes focusing on individual characters like Storm, Scott, Kurt, Mystique, etc. They are building up these characters then do the movies. Wolverine shouldn't show up until Xmen 2. Definitely feature Senator Kelly and go from there. Really focus on what its like to be different from a physical and mental level of being a mutant. The original movies were decent but could've been better. Thank you for making this.
An adaptation of "Children of Atom" by Joe Casey.
I loved X2, Xmen first class, and Days of future past. Those are some that I consider some food the best superhero movies of all time.
First Class is my favorite X-Men film. Definitely one if the best superheroes films.
To me i feel Last stand was still a good movie as it was meant to have Magneto realizing and seeing to his horror how much harm his actions had done and him saying how sorry he was to xavier was him finally realizing his mistakes and now seeing what they could've had all those years ago
@@comicbookreviewer4856 I agree. I actually enjoyed that one as well. Used to watch it on dvd all the time. I wish they could've found a way to have Cyclops play much more of leader role instead of killing him off.
Okay, that plan 2 instead of plan b line was pretty awesome
The movies really slept on Cyclops’ hand to hand capabilities. Dude is no joke bro
The team ensemble has to be nailed. Every X-men has to pop out and feel special in their own right so that kids who grow up with these movies can pick out a favorite. The X-men stand out so much as a team because they’re so diverse and identifiable without being prior solo characters who came together.
The Fox movies, even the good ones were more about what the X-men stand for and not so much about them.
Let’s see them go on missions more. Bonding, arguing, developing as a team. Don’t nKe them feel like only coworkers but family.
Some people may disagree with this but, to fix the X-men films, I don't think they should have Magneto as the main villain, or at least not in the first film. Don't get me wrong. Magneto is one my favorite villains (after Doctor Doom) but, just like the Joker, he was overused in the films. It would be cool if the X-men films take some inspirations from X-men Evolution and have Magneto acting as villain in the shadows, building his conflict with Xavier and the X-men for the second or third film.
It’s very true about Magneto being overused in the past, but building him up as the final boss is a slippery slope too since the MCU will have done that with Thanos AND Kang by the time an X-Men film comes out. I think a good middle ground would be to have him as a main player across the whole trilogy, but not necessarily in a mastermind in the shadows kind of way. Make him DIRECTLY affect the story, just not as the villain until the third film. Here’s how it could go:
First film: The main conflict is between the X-Men and the MRD. Meanwhile, Magneto is publicly building Genosha as a sanctuary for mutants because he’s trying to bait the MRD into mounting an assault on it so that he can lead a counterattack. He hates humans as much as anyone, but he’s smart enough to let them draw first blood so that he can appear as a hero and unite mutantkind. In the climax, the X-Men have to stop the MRD from mounting the attack so that full-on war doesn’t break out.
Second film: The main conflict is between the X-Men and Mister Sinister this time. Magneto agrees to handle public relations between humans and mutants while the X-Men deal with this situation on the condition that they keep it under wraps because both he and Charles know what it’ll mean if a serious mutant villain becomes public. Ultimately, the X-Men fail in that regard and the climax is very televised. The film ends with Magneto revealing his new plan to Charles and saying something to the effect of, “This’s exactly what I DIDN’T want to happen! If you had just let the MRD attack Genosha before, then we would’ve been seen as the good guys acting in self-defense. But now because of Sinister, the whole human population is united against us. You better stay out of my way this time.”
Third film: Magneto is finally acting as the villain, setting the Brotherhood loose on humans and the X-Men have to stop him to prove that for every mutant who acts the way humans fear, there are those who are here to help and believe in freedom for all.
@@lewisholiman9237 That would be awesome build up of their rivalry, helping to separate Magneto from other big bads like Thanos. While I usually prefer trilogies and I don't think Marvel would do a IW/endgame again, it would be cool if the third film ended in cliffhanger, with Xavier and X-men fight against Magneto and his followers causing the creation of a more powerful villain like the Sentinels (led by Nimrod) or Ounslaught (who in the comics was born due to Xavier, in anger, used his powers against Magneto, becoming a representation of Xavier and Magneto dark side). Then the fourth film could show the x-men having to deal with this bigger threat and Scott being the one who convice Xavier and Magneto to end their rivalry and inspiring both leaders work together to save the world (basically Cyclops would be the balance between Xavier dream and Magneto will).
Also, instead of the brotherhood, I would prefer if Magneto's followers were the Acolytes, since in the comics they have interest dynamic with Magneto, being very loyal to him and seeing him like savior (creating a similarity between them and the X-men, who are loyal to Xavier dream and see the professor as father figure).
@@alexandrefrauches132 The Acolytes would also be good since, unlike the Brotherhood, they weren’t used in the Fox universe.
@@lewisholiman9237 Yeah, plus they have better dynamic with Magneto compare to the brotherhood. Despite being the most recognizable group, the Brotherhood, in comics and most medias, are usually just henchmen for the X-men to punch (the only time they were better develop was in X-men Evolution).
The acolytes on other hand are very loyal towards Magneto, treating like "a savior" and are willing to sacrifice themselves to protect him.
magneto was a victim of circumstance in that movie
I always envisioned the MCU doing a loose adaptation of the 2011 X-Men anime. That anime has perfectly showcased what I envisioned for Emma Frost and can tackle a story for the X-Men without tackling the Dark Phoenix for the third time. They could pull the same tactic they did for Spider-Man. Don't do the origin story nor Dark Phoenix again and just have them already established.
They could also follow the exemple of the cartoons, with the X-men already established and the movie focus on the younger member, the one who's introduce to the X-men (which would probably be someone like Kitty Pryde).
I would like the Phoenix saga again. But many phases away. Let us love the characters.
You're absolutely right that Cyclops needs to be brought to the forefront in the upcoming X-Men movies. Every major dynamic involves him:
-He's caught in between the ideals of both Xavier and Magneto, as you mentioned
-Any proactive effort from the X-Men is set in motion either by him as the leader, or by Storm as his executive officer. The two of them have a dynamic that needs to be explored in a movie.
-The love triangle between Scott, Jean, and Logan was forced and ridiculous in the movies. This is possibly the biggest emotional crux of the comics, and the obvious B story for the next few films. Jean finds herself attracted to two broken men - Scott may be even more damaged, an anxious-avoidant who lost his family, and was almost married once before, only to have his power - his curse - be responsible for both.
-Last of all, you have the Id/Ego/Superego dynamic of Wolverine, Cyclops, and Beast, which mirrors another great franchise to come out of the 1960s, Star Trek. You have the grizzled man led by emotions (Logan/McCoy), the leader willing to forge ahead at any cost (Scott/Kirk), and the logical, philosophical mind of reason (Hank/Spock).
There are countless other character interactions that could drive both plot and character development, so I have to wonder why we ended up with some of the disappointing films we've gotten. The X-Men are fascinating, and were at one time Marvel's flagship property, beating out even Spider-Man. I hope they take your advise and give us the X-Men movies we've always wanted.
The Fox X-Men movies hurt me so. I love these characters and they just never got them right. ESPECIALLY Cyclops who is my favorite Marvel character. This dude is awesome and was a large reason for reading/watching X-Men. Don't get me wrong, I love parts of the Fox franchise especially the First Class group. And there are iconic moments, but I need more.
0:44 Namor who was introduced in wakanda Forever is literally marvels first mutant.
The Last Stand, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix and X-Men Origins Wolverine are crash courses in how not to make an X-Men movie.
What I like the most about the X-Men movies is the fact that they never tried to follow the MCU's formula or its tropes, especially after it became a trend
They never relied on nostalgia, the tone always kept consistent, and they always focused on the present
And DARK PHOENIX kept that way
They kept their sense of individuality. Even the score was different in each movie
Mitch, i just want to thank you for the Incredible work you do with your videos, editing, scripts and edits, for the passion you clearly put into them.
This video specifically reminded me of not just how much i love the X-men, but why. You somehow just put into words what and how i feel about this characters, and has been like that with a loooooot of your videos. So just thanks for making a great work. And i cant wait to see what's next
I wonder if you’re going to talk about X-men (2000) or The last stand (2006)
Both of them would make great videos
I have been a die hard Cyclops fan my entire life! I agree with every word you said. Cyclops is an awesome character that has been disrespected for decades. They should hire you to write the story.
I have a lot of faith in how Marvel Studios will eventually handle the X-Men after Professor X’s Dr Strange cameo and everything we know about Deadpool 3.
This video was incredible. The voice actor for Cyclops is perfect! Amazing job.

It is always amazing to see younger people actually getting the X-Men. I got the premiere comic when I was ten and I have followed their development ever since. Even those times when I've called them "the Angst-Men." I have to admit that this content is something I can get behind.
I love the way that you described the comics and how the movies would be better for adhering to the source material
There are contracts in place currently that need to be waited out before an x men movie goes into production. If they started immediately, then they would have had to use the most recent fox cast.
A good Xmen movie comes with casting a decent Storm and Cyclops, giving those 2 leadership roles and more script
This is gonna be really interesting. Oh btw Mitch if you ever do a How To Make A Good X-Men Movie, in that video of you ever decide to revise your casting I got the perfect solution, so here I go…
Xavier Institute
Cyclops-Jacob Elordi
Marvel Girl-Abigail Cowen
Iceman-Michael Cimeno
Beast-Sam Richardson
Angel-Danny Griffin
Storm-Anna Diop
Colossus-Tom Hopper
Nightcrawler-Finn Wolfhard
Polaris-Mikey Madison
Professor X-Giancarlo Esposito
What do you think?
I've never liked Esposito as Xavier, doesn't resemble the character at all, and I don't mean race, nothing about his prior performances exudes Xavier, he's been a calculated, cold, emotionally monotone villain in everything he's largely been in (breaking bad, mandalorian, farcry, the boys etc) he'd make a great villain, but not Xavier. Some of the other picks are great and I'll definitely consider them.
@@thesuperframe hey I’m glad you like em, I wanted the x-man to be a mix of both young and older. Btw what do you think of Christoph Waltz as Magneto?
@@thesuperframe one of my biggest problems with the fox x men movies is I feel we never got to see the x men as teenagers in the way they were in the comics and I feel That's one of the core ideals of the x men how would a teenager or a group of teenagers dill with finding out they have superpowers but they're finding out they have those powers because they're not human and knowing people will hate them because they're apart of that race and have powers wen they live in a world full of normal people who got powers and became heroes love by people for me that's one of the things that made the x men relatable to kid's who are marvel fans and people who are marvel fans and people in general it's asking them a question what if you were a marvel superhero but people hated you because you have power
@@thesuperframe I'm simply interested in seeing him break typecasting by playing someone who isn't a cold and ruthless rich man.
@@CharlieMonkeh Christoph Waltz isn’t Jewish Magneto is
Nobody on the internet has describes this story better than You brother. Old Claremont x-blood kid. You nailed it. Ff and x were my childhood. Unique and wired. Weird even around family.
Thank you.
You have my vote. The characterization is crucial. Hopefully they’re building this mutineers saga to lay a solid framework for creating a magnificent x ken adaptation.
I think Professor X is pretty spot on in the first few movies, a lot of the character aspects you mentioned weren't really added to his character in the comics until after those movies had been made
Here we go again
I love the fox x-men movies honestly
Me too.
Superframe: "A superhero team that acted alongside Spiderman as the one two punch that kicked off the superhero craziness we now have today.
Me: "Correction, A superhero team that acted alongside Spiderman and Blade as the one three punch that kicked off the superhero craziness we now have today."
I noticed you left out my main man Gambit. The freakin Cajun Card Shark. They did him dirty in Origins and he deserves another appearance.
That "plan 2" line *needs* to be in the MCU. 😁
whoever voices scott for this video is literally perfect btw 😩
I love all of your X-Men related videos. I always thought the avengers were more like firemen, and the X-Men were more like policemen.
I don't really consider the "FoX-Men" movies to be good X-Men movies. The only reason ppl liked X2, 1st Class, & DoFP is because they were the best of a bunch of bad movies (not to mention they were the only live-action versions we got). The only reason we got any real characterization was because of Joss Whedon, who actually seemed to understand the X-Men. While Jean was actually Xavier's 1st student, Scott was his 1st X-Man. The FoX-Men movies ruined Cyke because his powers are a bit 1-dimensional, & they didn't know how to implement his strategic intelligence in any meaningful way. I like Jean, but Emma's a more interesting character (esp. when it comes to dialogue & there's no Phoenix involved). If they want to make a good X-Men movie, just modernize aspects from the comics, cartoons, & video games, while giving them a great budget. And have it all overseen by ppl who'll do the franchise justice, like Joss, & Kevin Feige.
The problem that doomed the franchise to me was the fact Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Lawrence became huge stars after being cast and it was obvious their characters were pushed to the front in every movie due to contract demand, when in fact they should never be protagonists.
An other banger, your one of my fav channel! Keep going!
Preach dude. My brother and I grew up with the X-Men cartoon in the 90s and I've never been happy with Scott in the films.
i am so excited. these movies were a coin toss on quality and i cant wait to see your take on them
Fresh stuff man thanks!
Thanks for tha video. Excited to see ya upcoming X-men fan fiction video
This is simply great! I love your content Superframe.
Cyclops is one of my favourite superheroes, so I definitely agree with your points about him.
I'm curious though, with all your focus on his relationship with Jean, what do you think of his relationship with Emma Frost?
A new Superframe video is always the best. All hits no misses 🤙🏾
Amazing job great work
I think you nailed this topic. Awesome job.
16:00 I don't have enough words in my vocabulary to express how much I love this plan! Amazing video, thanks!
I wish they would make a single, side-line universe movie ( Like Matt Reeves' The Batman ) and make a "Hulk v Wolverine" movie. They should skip ANY origin story stuff and assume we've seen 7 or 8 of the 20-something versions out there. We just join "cowboy hat" Wolverine being dropped into the rubble of a leveled city ( Yes - like the animated movie ) BUT it's not really a Hulk movie, it's a Sabertooth movie.
In this telling, for "reasons", an un-transformable Bruce Banner becomes the bait in a Sabertooth "birthday surprise" for Wolverine, and it becomes a Terminator styled chase thriller before Banner finally explodes into The Hulk.
In this movie, Logan should be short, grizzled and have the bigger incisor teeth and Sabertooth should look as large and terrifying as Sabertooth. And for the sake of distinguishing this movie from the other Marvel movies, The Hulk should have the Frankenstein shaped head with the big square brow.
With the success of my super duper brilliant movie idea, they'd repeat the success with a Snake Eyes v Storm Shadow movie that begins in Vietnam.
Simon Kinberg might not be a good writer
But you can bet he is a great producer
It was because of him that we got FIRST CLASS, DEADPOOL and LOGAN
And THE MARTIAN too
cool vid excited for part two in 3 months
What a goated video. I've never watched a video on how to do a cbm that had more insight on how to create one than this
Great video. I always love your in-depth analysis and the presentation. After these X-Men videos, I’d love to see you go over how to make a good and bad Fantastic Four movie.
Fantastic video
Thoughtful video, man. Really engaged me; I enjoyed your editing, too. Can I ask: where are you getting those instances where comics panels are being read aloud? Thanks in advance. I look forward to your next vid.
Warren is my X-Men, I really want to see him with the founding X-Men where he belongs and have then build him up as a character, X-Men Apocalypse did him dirty.
That's true, his whole transformation into Archangel could be adapt into a arc through the a whole trilogy. Plus, since Jean becoming the Dark Phoenix was alredy done, Warren story could work as replacement.
Well said, well done.
I think you should do a six movie saga of the xmen in the vain of your video on a good green lantern movie including a tv show withe movie xmen led by Cyclops and the tv show xmen led by storm similar to xmen blue and xmen gold. You should also a a video on a good wolverine movie because lets be honest he is bound to get his own mcu film.
A great video essay, couldn't agree with this more.
Cyclops is basically Capt America minus the super soldier serum but with an optic blast. Granted, I was never the biggest fan of either when I was reading comics but I still respected the characters enough to know they were the undisputed leaders of their teams and were very strong (not physically, as far as imposing their presence) characters.
I understand that Fox was only capitalizing on Wolverine's popularity but that their biggest mistake and what the MCU managed to navigate fairly well with regards to the Avengers movies ie not always making it about Iron Man (although you could say they leaned 60-40 in his favor) but for the X-Men movies to succeed they have to spread the wealth on the core characters they are going to use for the main team.
Watching this it became clear right away you love these characters and these stories as much as myself and so many others. Great points all the way around.
Great lovestream. Good job.
The X-men don't work without Cyclops or Storm. If either of those two are missing from a leadership role the whole thing falls apart.X-men do work without Jean and Cyclops together, people don't even realize that Jean was dead for a very large part of the X-Men history and whatever identity she had before that was wrapped up in the Phoenix for so long she took on the name without the Phoenix powers. It's only in recent years that she's alive and being a Marvel girl again. But let's talk about her Poly relationship with Wolverine and Cyclops, and those two smashing now.
Thank you for understanding the issues with storm I pray that they fix them in the next up-coming portrayal of her in the movie
Let’s be honest if we were in the marvel universe we’d all be racist towards “the team with that one woman that can kill you just by touching you, those two guys that have mind control and mind reading abilities, that one guy with metal claws, and that other guy with those death beams coming out of his eyes”
The return of the superframe super hero verse
I really hope whatever phase of the MCU the X-Men winds up in, they make it the flagship much like Iron Man was. I have loved X-Men 97, i was always a fan of TAS. I wish the movies were like that
i definetly think that ryan coogler should handle the xmen characters , he is a passionate , the themes of the xmen really reasonate on the black panthers movies , with killmonger and namor , and he always find a way to spotlight every characters oe you can also give to destin daniel cretton , who did an amazing job with shang chi , even tho, it's more because i think his previous worked are really screaming xmen too . Yeah , both of them are great option better than the russos
or they could bring back matthew vaughn
I've been working on a personal project since 2019 of what the perfect (or near perfect) DC and Marvel cinematic universes would look like. For my version of the MCU, it's basically what if Marvel had all the movie rights to their characters, all of their characters were unprecedented in cinema (or at least Blade onwards never existed), and budget constraints, scheduling conflicts, recasting, etc., weren't an issue either. After working on this project, I realise how massively depressed it's made me feel every time I see a new DC or Marvel film. I actually believe there is a pretty objectively perfect blueprint for both universes, that if multiple people with comic knowledge and an understanding of filmmaking tried this project, they would all end up discovering and creating this same blueprint on their own, with little changes between each others versions. Or at least the first four phases of this version's MCU and DCU would stay consistent between people as I could maybe see it taking slightly different directions at phase 5. It's actually quite insane how incredibly well every movie flows and interweaves with each other in this version. It's like it was a jigsaw puzzle with already cut out pieces, just waiting to be put together this entire time with the right minds. I'm still working on both universes, but after I'm finished, I want to try and make a video series showing how it could be done. What I discovered though is Marvel basically had zero chance of ever creating the perfect MCU due to complications. But DC actually could have. DC could have made the quintessential and perfect DCU. They actually screwed it up at Batman Begins and Superman Returns, even though I love Batman Begins and what it did for Batman in cinema. Then they massively stuffed up with Green Lantern. And then CW's Arrow and Man of Steel was basically the nails in the coffin (the point of no return). Even if you like Zack's "Snyderverse", his universe is rushed and has little longevity. But on top of that, I also think his version has stacks of other problems going for it too.
The huge ball that the Apocalypse movie dropped was that in the final battle, Charles should have responded to A's previous taunts about depending on others making him weak by saying "No, it makes us *strong* !", then link everyone up on the psychic plane and have his *team* wipe the floor with A and his Horsemen.
I wish james gunn made x men movies. He's done a fantastic job with guardians of the galaxy and DC is trusting him to rebuild their cinematic universe.
Who did the voices cause they are really good also always love your videos
Wondering who the perfect team for the MCU's X-Men would be. Maybe go for a more classic formation from the comics?
6:45 To be fair Mitch, The X-men movies were made in the 2000, before the comics start to portray Xavier more as this fallible mentor, who keeps secrets from his students and makes questionable decisions to achive his goals.
which honnestly , it was a bad idea and they wanted to correct it by killing him off in avengers vs xmen
I think they should save Wolverine for a sequel. Maybe if they make another MCU Hulk movie, he could debut there before joining the X-Men. The starting team should consist of Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Storm, and Ice Man.
If you think Fox did Cyc dirty just wait till you see our next fan film. 😈
It's kind of ironic how Kevin Fiege was one of the producers on the fox x-men movies and he talked about Bryan Singer and the Fox producers did not consider the comics at all when making the movies to the point where he was just standing on set with a bunch of x-men comics begging the writers and actors to look at them. Now he has them at his own disposal.
Wow! Thanks for making a tutorial on this subject! I always wanted to make bad X-men movies, but I never knew how to. This shed the light on some things, I'll try to listen to your advice when making my own bad X-men movie.
Heyyy, I am really excited for the Good X-Men movie from you! Any idea when will it come out?
Unpopular opinion:
I found Simon Kinberg's direction pretty solid in DARK PHOENIX
He was able to give the movie an identity of its own, rather than trying to replicate Bryan Singer's direction
Unlike Brett Ratner tried to do in THE LAST STAND
Also Matthew Vaughn did the same
@@matthewsengendo6302 Kingerg was the one that pitched Vaughn
Great video! I’d also add Fix #5, improve the villains. Every x-villain has a unique view of the mutant problem. Apocalypse was survival of the fittest, Mr Sinister was about genetic tampering, Magneto was a holocaust survivor, the Hellfire Club were motivated by money and power. I think the movies pushed Magneto as the only villain and skimped on some of the other ones. Even Age of Apocalypse was Magneto’s story (again). This helps fix the ‘mutants bad, humanity good’ narrative by showing another view of the mutant ‘problem’. Great watch, though, and looking forward to more vids!
Great video! Studios never adhere closely enough to the Source.

I'm just glad someone still cares about the X-Men in my opinion, the greatest superhero ensemble in all of Marvel comics with the richest stories and the deepest layered characters.
I would take a CGI or NETFLIX animation at this point, but if Marvel can pull this off like Spiderman No Way Home, the X-fans I included will be jumping for joy!
🙌👏🏻👏👏🏾🙌🏼 🥳
in order for it to feel more realistic, politicians should be still discriminate against mutants. in real life, discrimination doesnt just go away after a few years.
Never been into the comics so this was a real eye opener, especially for Scott
