      That show is a better live action take on both properties, plus this wouldn’t be the first time X-Men ripped off from that team. So if the movie was to succeed, Marvel Studios (in the first time ever) should copy from DC.

      Drew Nolde So like a more faithful take on First Class?
      Cause if so here are some basic guidelines I would do:
      1) Have Cyclops be the main protagonist of this series of films. It will definitely set them apart from the Fox Men series.
      2) The team dynamic/interaction should be something similar to Breakfast Club or (better yet) the Power Ranger movie .
      3) The main X-Men team are formed due to five students from the Institute using their powers outside the estate by preventing a mass shooting.
      4) Professor X in the movie is initially reluctant of his students using their powers in public, but as the film progress becomes more open to them using their gifts as a team realizing that is wrong to keep such special talent a secret.
      5) Have two Big Bads for the film: Magneto for the mutant side and Boliver Trask for the human side.
      6) In response to a Stark-less world, Bolivar Trask took up said role by modifying the whole “Party Mode” protocol of his armors to be used for the basis of the Sentinel project for the purpose of protecting the public from dangerous metahumans.
      7) Magneto and The Brotherhood of Mutants will initially start out as being good guys that is beloved by the public in the MCU, but due to the combination of bad publicity from political figures, witnessing personally the racism from humanity and a third influence that I will talk about later, the group will turn heel and start to go against the people they once save (like the song Iron Man).
      8) Mastermind is the Bigger Bad of the film who uses his illusion powers and manipulation to instigate further the hysteria among the Brotherhood and Sentinel Project. Basically he wants to instigate a war between the humans and mutants as part of his duties in the Inner Circle.

    • @firstnamelastname364

      Just do with Cyclops what they did with Captain America and they should be fine. Focus on his morality & loyalty as a way to swerve away from the goofiness and do-gooder reputation of previous representations.
      That way when they have tension between him and Wolverine (who should be introduced after the other X-Men members first team up) then it won’t feel like we’ll have to pick sides, but instead it’ll be similar to Cap vs Iron Man in the regard that we can admire both sides of the conflict.
      Also, make Wolverine comic accurate. So more educated, less attractive, shorter and more gruff, etc. So don’t hire Tom Hardy or Dan Radcliffe. Radcliffe can be Beast. Hire someone unknown and young.
      Or if they really want to surprise me then hire Jack Black with weight loss and steroids. /s

    • @alexman378
      @alexman378 5 лет назад +11

      @@tayojones9460 Yeah, but so? Logan was never meant to be an X-Men film, the X-Men themselves are only alluded to, never properly named in the film, not even flashbacks are included. The original film was to begin with Xavier killing the X-Men by accident due to his seizures, and they pulled it out of the film because Mangold wanted to focus the story on Logan, Xavier and Laura. It's almost a given that when they enter the MCU, the X-Men will be focusing more on the team dynamic, but for what we got from the original run, Logan was a masterpiece.
      Given Feige's patience for holding back fan favorites until it's the right time, I imagine Wolverine won't even show up in the first film they get the X-Men in. They'll first make us fall in love with the more underappreciated ones (Cyclops and Storm especially who were never properly realized) and then he'll bring on Logan in a sequel or something.

    • @alexman378
      @alexman378 5 лет назад +5

      @@golden1324 Yeah, seriously, and to think it's the exact same team behind The Wolverine... We could have gotten two phenomenal Wolverine movies instead of just one, but at least they went all out with the one they could do properly. All studios save for Marvel should fuck off from the creative process and just do what they were meant to do, all the distribution and financial shit. Yes, have someone monitor the money that goes in and out, but if you have such a great cast and crew, just unleash them and watch money flow in. Every time I see a great team behind an average or bad movie I always think "the studios couldn't keep it in their pants". 9 times out of 10, the word "studio meddling" escorts the bad reviews for the film or the reason behind it bombing commercially.

    captainmidnight, your points are 100% spot-on for X2. To this day, it is my favorite X-Men film after Logan and the only one I feel that actually gave development to most everyone on the team.
    From Iceman overcoming his own insecurities, to Rogue becoming more confident with her powers, to Jean coming to terms with her powers and her fears that they might harm more than help, and so on. Plus, it's much more thematically rich than most films in the franchise.
    As the cherry on top, it has so many small moments that elevate it above most of the others; Storm and Nightcrawler having a conversation about faith and pity, Magneto being the first to encourage Pyro to use his powers instead of controlling them, even something as simple as Rogue giving Wolvie his dogtags back. Brilliant.

    I feel Dead Pool, as popular as it is, is actually a little underrated by most people who don't like it. I keep talking to people who basically make it sound more like they just don't like Dead Pool in general or the character's humor, but the thing is, that's more of an opinion on the source than it is the film, because the things people hate the most about the film are the things most accurate to the way the character is supposed to feel. He's a walking shitpost, full of references, slapstick grim-derp, and a severe abuse of third-wall-jokes and "twitter culture" memes. If all that sounds cringe to you, that's all fine, but even still, the film should be recognized as the most perfect adaption of the character we have ever seen, and likely ever will see.

    This is kind of an unpopular opinion, but I was genuinely excited about the direction Fox was taking their X-Men Cinematic Universe in, branching out and having more creative concepts, rather than building towards some larger story. Had the XCU continued we would have gotten Laura/X-23 (Western), X-Force (Black Ops), Gambit (Heist), Shadowcat/Kitty Pryde (Home Invasion), and Multiple Man (James Franco-led R-rated comedy). Hopefully at the very least when New Mutants finally drops it will be a genuinely scary horror flick.

    I was excited that you did a tier video. Then the video started with Apocalypse....
    They made 12 X-Men?

    That brief 5 second clip of the 90s X-Men cartoon opening credits was miles better than all the films you listed, save for like the last 3

    Logan adapted the old man Logan comic book concept so well to the film. Easily my favourite X movie

      I mean, the original Old Man Logan mini series was pretty terrible, being edgy just to be edgy (Mark Millar gotta Mark Millar - I mean, Red Skull wearing Cap's face? Everyone is dead, a murderer or a prostitute?). The monthly run was a lot better, but Logan blew both of them away.

    You forgot green lantern which as deadpool 2 confirms is the prequel to Deadpool franchise ( and thus the x-men franchise).

      Mate, don't even try it... Green Lantern is a DC movie, not Fox, they are NOT in the same universe just because the same actor plays them *Facepalm*

    I'm glad you acknowledged some of X2's biggest flaws. I've always found it overrated and liked the original better. It was basically a Wolverine origin movie that rendered the later actual Wolverine origins movie redundant, at the expense of Cyclops (taken out of action at the beginning of the movie? The hell?) and Storm (who got so little character development that they had to rewrite X3 to make her the leader of the X-Men or else Halle Berry wasn't going to come back). The idea of the X-Men and the Brotherhood teaming up against a greater threat was a great way to go after the first one, but Striker wasn't a credible enough villain to warrant it.
