Another great reaction sir! Jinjer is on another level. An awesome & fitting quote I heard about them recently is "Jinjer is the Tchaichovsky of metal". 😉
Jinjer is definitely a modern band in their general sound, but what differentiates them the most for me is their dynamics, and with my completely biased opinion (being someone that chose the bass as their first instrument to play) is actually caring about what the bass brings to the band/song. Modern metal likes to think that bass playing doesn't matter, but every important memorable band over the decades has had every player being distinctive and being a significant part of that band's sound. And that's what Jinjer has.
Yup, watching Eugene's bass playthrough vid for "Vortex" almost had me go spend money I didn't have on a 5-string - something I'd avoided for 20+ years of playing the bass! He's a great example of a both-hands-always-busy player who's musical enough to never have it sound "too much". So good. :)
Heaps of modern metal respects the bass, you just normally have to go to the more technical metal genres, but that’s pretty much the same in all music genres, e.g. pop or rock vs jazz or prog.
This song reminds me a LOT of Faith No More and older Coheed and Cambria musically and both of those bands had very prominent bass. Bill Gould, Trevor Dunn, Les Claypool and at the end of the decade, Ryan Martinie all begat quite a lot of really good bass players to come in the 2000's
The gallop part is amazing. And I love how there’s story telling with the movement of the musical instruments in themselves. There’s a beginning, middle, and end.
Jinjer is just on ANOTHER LEVEL of GREATNESS... And i have met them and their manager, and they are so cool and down to earth guys, but so hardworking and focused, like i have seen few in my life... They sure have struggled a lot to arrive to this time and place with this quality! I have a great respect for all of them... Hope this fucking wars around the world all end soon... Жінка за перемогу!!!
I love this new song by Jinjer, always love Jinjer! I've done some amateur dabbling in music, but I love hearing musicians talk about Jinjer, they're just so good! I love the portrayals in this video of Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, Marie Curie and (I think) Georgia O'Keeffe, although since we know Tatiana loves Frida Kahlo (as do I) because of that tattoo on her arm, I will always think of that character in this video as Georgia O'Keeffe on the outside and Frida Kahlo on the inside. Great reaction, Geebz! Thank you for bringing more of the fantastic music of Jinjer to more people! ❤️ 🖤 🤘
@KeyOfGeebz I absolutely love the way you geek out over this band! It warms my heart. The way you pick up on all of their nuances and break down the technical mastery is such of a breath of fresh air in the land of reaction videos. I have binged all of your Jinjer reactions. I love your content. Thank you!
I heard Jinjer for the first time around 2017 and they were immediately one of my all-time favorite bands. To this day, Tatiana makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I know she wasn't the first woman to sing like that, but she took it to the moon. On top of that, the band is just as fantastic. Eugene & Vlad are insanely great and Roman has put his unique style in every song. I saw them on Macro tour in September 2019 and I had to wring out my clothes after the show. It was amazing and Tatiana's stage presence is incredible. She is the Queen and Jinjer are the best! They do it every single time. Always enjoy your perspective Geebz.
I love the unadulterated prog energy in this song. And the story being told from the very *unique* perspective that Jinjer has in the world is beautiful.
There’s one section where Eugene (bassist) is playing in the lower extremes of his range and Taniana is singing in the upper extremes of hers and it creates this hollowed out mid range effect in the tonal profile of the song that’s ultra…whatever the opposite of muddy is.
excellent analysis, I missed these analyses......please react the song "pit of Consciousness" but live in Kiev......please, I would love to see your analysis of this song live
It's definitely impressive (tones are awesome), but, when it comes to songwriting, it's just a mess! They ran out of ideas for good songs. These songs sound like jamming! IMHO

Agreed, I'd go as far as to describe Eugene as a lead bass player, his playing is as heavily involved in the melody as it is the rhythm.

It's not a problem with modern metal its always been this way. Its a mixing , talent and song writing problem.
The entire band are exceptional musicians. This new track only cements their legendary status in my eyes.
I've been listening to metal for over 20 years and no band has ever made me feel the way jinjer does. My favorite band of all time.

Virtuosos, all of them.

This is great, I can't wait for album to drop, this is exactly what I needed from Jinjer. Give me more of that groovy and jazzy metal excellence!!!

It's an absolute banger of a track. All very talented artists in their craft!
So nice to see you with Jinjer again. Damn I’ve missed your analysis
Jinjer are rapidly becoming their own genre!

The consistency is insane. They always deliver.
I am 70 this is what I listen to. they have changed metal.
Some of the absolute best musicianship and tightness within a band out there today 🤯🫶🏻
As with all of Tatiana's lyrics, pure poetry. Top notch muscianship, amazing vocal performance. These guys never dissapoint.
Such amazing composition while still being totally groovy
Love Jinjer
Jinjer - From Nothing (Live Audiotree Performance)
Jinjer - Call Me A Symbol (Official Live in LA)
this is piece of art
Thank you Geebz
I love her ❤... I dont I think there's another chick in the world as cool as her, of course the whole bands freaking Awesome.

It sounds like what trying to mix oil and water probably sounds like
Was waiting for this to pop up in my feed from the moment the song dropped
Yoo I havnt heard too much jinger yet, I dig ittt. 🔥
Thank Geebz, I haven’t heard this one but I thought it rocked. Also, I’m still here😊
Never heard this band before.
Sounds a lot like a metal version of Guano Apes. Highly recommend Open Your Eyes by them.
The dancing bass you're describing is best done on the song "close to the edge" by yes (the band)
Shout out to Max Morton for the mix on this. More bass goodness than should be legal.
Holy Dark Mother... 😮🖤
excellent analysis, I missed these analyses......please react the song "pit of Consciousness" but live in Kiev......please, I would love to see your analysis of this song live
Thanks for reaction
What about gojira’s olympic opening ceremony? It would be cool to see what you think of that
Max Morton, take a bow...
Mean!
Tatiana is it the best
Music is alright, mainly came for Geebz
All the separate parts of this sound good but together , to me, it sounds so disjointed. Like none of these things belong together .
@jinjermetalband is killer! Good to see ya Geebz!
I was kind of digging this until she started growling. Uuggghh wtf?
same.
