Girrrrrl, you've answered my prayer. I do not like the mod podge sealer because it ends up looking like mate paint instead of glitter. today, I just said I need to RUclips someone doing an analysis of the sealers and I found you. So thank you so much for this tutorial. I appreciate it. I'm going with triple thick. :-)
I just got in to doing wine glasses and stuff a couple months ago. I just got a turner and started doing epoxy now too. I have been looking for a video like this since I started. So, thank you so much for doing this! I watched your wine glasses with the triple thick yesterday. They turned out amazing! I have put vinyl on mod podge, then just put a couple layers of mod podge over it, before I got my turner and the epoxy, and it does look nice. Nothing like it does with the epoxy, but it does work. I have also used the super gloss mod podge, which looks a lot like the triple thick when you're applying it. I don't know how they would compare to each other though. So happy I found your channel! Thank you for all the tips and beautiful ideas! Can't wait to watch more!
Also in regard to bright tone I found that at 4 Coats I lightly sand with 400-600 then 4 more Coats Between every coat I dry it with a small area heater 30 minutes spinning, which is probably the equivalent of a blow dryer. It sets up much harder and after about a week or 2 it seems to be harder as well. So it does have a delayed curing time . brings it up to a much harder surface and then the shine comes as well. Triple thick is exactly as the name implies so basically you add 9 Coats on the triple thick cup. And as you mention you have used brute tone before with plastic as well... as I do, with clear plastic and it does set up well. I also find that modge podge is quite dull but for durable usage... hand washed as well as the left in a sinkk and they are still like new, after 6yrs.
Thanks so much for posting this!!! Definitely needed I’m working on glasses now and I have modge podge but I believe I’ll be switching to bright tone from now on!!! I really appreciate you taking the time out to test them all equally and showing the results!!!
I love , Love, love you girl!!! Thanks for showing me how to use the Triple Thick. You know your going to have haters, so the heck with them. You keep doing you and I will keep watching and learning.
I would love to see the wear and tear on these and also which of these are actually food grade safe? I am not a fan of dishwasher mod pod he. It does matte, leaves brush marks and takes 28 days to cure. Triple thick was definitely my favorite of the 3. Thank you for experimenting and sharing with us!!
Crystalac is supposed to be food safe. Also food safe and dishwasher safe are two different things. The Mod Podge says it is not food safe. Spray paint is supposed to be food safe after about 7 days. I think I may try 4 layers of triple thick and one layer of glossy spray paint and see what happens. However that will have to wait until it warms up outside.
@Hope Schuessler, I'm having the same issues sealing a mug with vinyl. Most videos say use Mod Podge, but I hate the brush strokes and it's peeling off. Idk what to use instead.
Thank you for doing this comparison. I want to do tumblers, but I will not use epoxy, but want the look or as close to look of epoxy. I use Triple Thick now and multiple types of Mod Podge as sealers. I love your work!
Hi Monica! I used the Triple Thick for projects I made for Christmas gifts and they were beautiful! I wasn't comfortable using the epoxy method since I'm a beginner so thank you for introducing the Triple Thick on your channel!
Thank you sooo much for doing this video!!!!! Epoxy and I fight when it comes to tumblers, and I am looking for an alternative to try. So thank you again.
Mod. Podge lol I don't know why but everytime you say ModGE Podge I giggle. 😅 Thank you for this video!! I was looking for the best option and you definitely didn't disappoint ❤
OMG!!! I AM SO GLAD I SAW THIS VIDEO. I AM NOT GOOD WITH EPOXY AND I WAS HOPING THERE WAS ANOTHER METHOD. PLUS EPOXY IS SO STRONG AND I DON'T HAVE A WELL VENTILATED AREA!
Yes, please add vinyl. I use brite tone all the time and it is definitely a time consuming process, but in the end, you get a beautiful shine even better than the triple thick. The shine will rival an epoxy cup. I'm going have to check my triple thick because mine is so thick it doesn't go in smooth at all, so I stopped using it. It may just be my technique too
Thank you so much for doing this!!! Your time is much appreciated!!! I was just on Amazon looking at triple thick and bright tone!!! You just helped greatly. I’m new so all I’ve used is epoxy. This will help me save a lot of money!!!!🥰
I really enjoyed this video. Very informative. And I like that modge podge & triple thick don’t need a spinner. Triple thick and Brite tone are hand wash safe, correct? Thanks I’m thinking of using them for pen/marker holder.
That was a great video 🙌🏻… I’m learning to see what’s out there that’s non toxic to use that’s comparable to epoxy….so far I’ve started tumblers with modepodge and finish with Brite Tone …which is a wonderful product and I get a beautiful glossy finish with a total of 10 coats sanding every 3 but that Thriple Thick looks interesting
Thank you so very much! I have been using epoxy for tumblers but have been curious about these other ways of doing it. I will stick with epoxy. One thing I am curious about is the difference between vinyl and waterslide. I see you use vinyl... have you tried waterslide before? I use vinyl and have been wondering about waterslide but can't seem to find an honest review of how it works.... I feel like you are so trustworthy with your videos and thats hard to find! Thanks again for this video!
Thank you so much for the comparison. I love these kind of videos. I know that where you live may differ from where I live so that needs to be taking in to consideration but your experiment sure gives me a great starting point. Thanks again so much and I hope you do more of these in the future.
From what I've learned from Brite Tone users and Crystalac, Brite Tone needs 12 or more thin applications but is a great alternative for those of us with an epoxy allergy. I plan on switching to Brite Tone soon but have so much epoxy to use up after I suit up with my ppe.
I love all of ur videos!!!! i am struggling trying to figure out what i can use on a plastic tumbler to seal the vinyl decals afterwards, i have bought triple thick, polycrilic, modge poge both dish and gloss, even have the extra gloss and dimensional. Please help me lol. Love all ur videos and ur crafts are amazing!!!! I used your snowglobe video to make my first one!!!!
I know this is a old video but o was looking for a way to not use epoxy. That triple thick worked good. Thanks for this. I have a idea I want to try with glitter.
Yea I would like to see what vinyl would be like under the sealer. I keep reading that you should never seak vinyl. So I want to see how you do it. Thanks a gazzzziilllllllion for these videos
Thank you for the video! Question, how long does Triple thick takes to fully cure ?? How long to wait between coats ? To apply the glitter is recommended doing with mod podge first? And then apply 3 or 4 coats of triple thick? Sorry too many questions 😅, someone had recommended me Crystalac for the glitter so I'm trying to figure it out what is better, thanks!
Hi! Do you allow the first coat to dry before doing your second coat? Also do you allow the final coat to dry before applying your sealer? Sorry if you've answered this previously! Just came across your channel on yesterday. 😁
Great video! Where did you get the tumblers? They look great. Was using regular mod podge but if it accidentally gets wet; you are done! LOL - Even the dishwaher safe one.
I've been dying to know also about the vinyl. I messed up a cup and have to take all the black off I was thinking about doing something vinyl but not sure what to seal it with. I'm new to it all
Love your videos and thanks for introducing me to the triple thick. I am a beginner in the tumbler game lol. One question though. How much time did you wait between layers to apply, I heard three with triple thick but I just wanna make sure. Thanks so much!! Keep doing what you doing 😁
Hi. David here from the CrystaLac Company. I would be glad to assist you with proper application of our products. I really appreciate you mentioning us and would like to discuss with you how to apply our products.
Hey David, it you check out my previous content you will see that i have successfully used your products before and even mentioned that in the video and that this was an experiment.
Good morning, hope all is well. I have a question. I am completely a newcomer to this, I brought a metal coffee tumbler w sports logo on it. I added vinyl on the back. I want to seal it, can I use mod podge? And how many layers
Hi there! What do you think is the best sealant for chunky glitter? I’m really not in the mood for using epoxy. The triple thick glaze seems to diminish the sparkle for me. I think I’m using a decent glitter. I think.
Girrrrrl, you've answered my prayer. The reason for rolling the dishwasher safe mode podge is so you don't get bubbles! Thank you this is a great video!
It’s been a few months ... how did they hold up to washing?
GREAT VIDEO btw!

Why do you sand after 3 coats?
Thanks so much for posting this!!! Definitely needed I’m working on glasses now and I have modge podge but I believe I’ll be switching to bright tone from now on!!! I really appreciate you taking the time out to test them all equally and showing the results!!!
Where all is the 2nd one I believe triple thick sold?
I love , Love, love you girl!!! Thanks for showing me how to use the Triple Thick. You know your going to have haters, so the heck with them. You keep doing you and I will keep watching and learning.
I feel like the triple thick is the prettiest ❤
I really love the way everything is explained on your video. Very clear, fast and on point. Thank you. Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

Me too like on a plastic Starbucks cup
Yeah add vinyl to them.
Mod. Podge lol
I don't know why but everytime you say ModGE Podge I giggle. 😅
Thank you for this video!! I was looking for the best option and you definitely didn't disappoint ❤
Thank you so much for this video! I have a order for 33 wine glasses and I didn't want to smell that epoxy! It's for a girls nite out!
OMG!!! I AM SO GLAD I SAW THIS VIDEO. I AM NOT GOOD WITH EPOXY AND I WAS HOPING THERE WAS ANOTHER METHOD. PLUS EPOXY IS SO STRONG AND I DON'T HAVE A WELL VENTILATED AREA!
Having the same problem , I just started using brite tone but I really want to learn how to use triple thick .

Yess I love bt, but the process is longer but o love it. Especially because I don’t have a well ventilated area
Would like to see vinyl added to the 3. Thanks so much for this video!
I'm not sure of you saw it, but she did a part 2 video where she added vinyl to all 3 cups. 😊
The triple thick is perfect for me. Since I'm just making tumblers for myself or for gifts.

I’m thinking of using them for pen/marker holder.
This was helpful. I have a metal cart that I plan to decorate and the resin/epoxy game isn’t my ministry. Thank you!
That was very informative! I used the brute tone still sketchy about the epoxy I don’t trust myself

Awesome video - I have been using clear acrylic - I've heard of all of these and I'm definitely going to try Triple Thick. Great video.
The clear acrylic, is it in a spray can? Does that work for you?
Thanks for this! ❤️
Great video ❤
Thank you for the video!! How have the cups held up now that it has been a couple years?
Hi! Do you allow the first coat to dry before doing your second coat? Also do you allow the final coat to dry before applying your sealer? Sorry if you've answered this previously! Just came across your channel on yesterday. 😁
Great presentation thanks
Yes for adding vinyl, super curious
Thanks for the comparisons. How long did you let the Mod Podge/glitter dry before adding the Brite Tone?
Great video! Where did you get the tumblers? They look great. Was using regular mod podge but if it accidentally gets wet; you are done! LOL - Even the dishwaher safe one.

Would really like to see vinyl added to them.
Love your videos and thanks for introducing me to the triple thick. I am a beginner in the tumbler game lol.

What are your thoughts on using triple thick on bic pens
The bright sun looks kind of splotchy at the end… Thank you for doing this
Great video.
Thanks, this video was helpful!
What type of brush are you using and does it leave lines??
Hi there! What do you think is the best sealant for chunky glitter? I’m really not in the mood for using epoxy. The triple thick glaze seems to diminish the sparkle for me. I think I’m using a decent glitter. I think.
Thanks for making this video.
Thank you so much! Very Helpful
How many hours or minutes between each layer of triple thick did you do ?
i just did 3 tumblers in dishwasher safe mod podge. 3 layers. sanded with fine sandpaper and it's smooth. are the others dishwasher safe?
