      I've given up on people learning this game after all these years. People still don't know about role positions, regrouping, and rotations after all this time. Most of the time they just wanna die on cooldown and play deathmatch. I just assume I'll have to cover two different roles or likely lose these days.

      On average, people are the same in every gaming community (same average IQ).
      If a specific community is perceived as "dumb" then it must be a game design/format problem and/or there needs to be an expectations adjustment from those who think they are smarter.

      I had hoped “hero mastery” would cover some basics about roles and positioning for new players. Sadly it did not. (I have to admit, I find the tilt amusing when edited like this. Streams can be a bit too much tilt but appreciate the grind, Freedo.)

      @@CouleeCosmonautThat’s why they tuned OW2 to make it death-matchy. Sucks, but you can literally tell people to group up, they will outright ignore you as if your some threat to their self-perceived cool self-agency. You now have a generation coming in with zero self-discipline and critical thought so they seem unable to grasp even basic teamwork or it’s not just all about them.

    One of the most frustrating things about OW is knowing teamwork is key meanwhile you watch everyone not in your group play totally separately

    • @daniel.lupton
      @daniel.lupton 2 месяца назад +1

      It was bad in OW1 but in OW2 people actually get annoyed with you for supporting the team. They tried to "make individuals feel empowered" but they also made it F2P and brought in a whole new crowd that don't get hero shooters and the result was a community that doesn't understand synergy at all. Everyone's all flank all the time.
      Then when you die on Zen or Rein because your team has run ahead without it's your fault for getting caught out and not the team for being on the other side of the map to the objective.
      Oh and I felt that "here's the objective, we're a close range team, we should force the fight on a corner" my team can never understand that you don't need to run into the enemy spawn gate just because you won a fight. You can actually hold an advantageous angle and "do nothing" for 5 seconds rather than force the fight. But there's always that "red dps killed blue dps" before the engage because the DPS literally can't help themselves.

    This is why I never play competitive, it's not worth all the stress, anger & dealing with bad teammates.

    • @_korbo_
      @_korbo_ 2 месяца назад

      Well, I think the key lies into playing with the right mindset. Sure I _want_ to win all games, but realistically I try to base my happiness no in the "winning" part but in the "trying" part. Trying to figure out, in game and out of game, what could I have done to maximize our chances of winning. Whether we do or not doesn't matter That much, if I get to figure out "Ok, in this situation I should have gone to help This player and we win", "I should have realized this one enemy was carrying a lot and focusing them would have made the fights easier even if it was not optimal". Those kinds of things.
      So my enjoyment of the game comes not from factually winning the game, but from interacting with the game mechanics and trying to solve it like a puzzle. I don't need to win to add another piece to the puzzle. Maybe that's cause I'm not good enough mechanically (aiming and whatnot) to just flat out carry solo.

    • @YourBestBudFlowey
      @YourBestBudFlowey 2 месяца назад +2

      @@_korbo_ I mean I don't care if I win or lose, I still enjoy the game, but when I try to play competitive, I stress out because I know there's stakes on the line. Not to mention all the tryhards that's why I'm a casual player. I don't like to tryhard, but when you play competitive you kind of have to so you don't screw over your own rank & the ranks of your teammates. I just can't enjoy a game if it's too difficult & stressful.

      Quick play is a dumpster fire and not worth the queue time

    • @josephreynolds2401
      @josephreynolds2401 2 месяца назад

      @@YourBestBudFlowey Competitive has a subcategory of players that are more like "competitive casuals". They play, get their rank but they don't rewatch games or try high rank(or basic) strats. These people are often the first to flame others after they make mistakes.
      I prefer the format of playing on a map then swapping sides. I find the quick play time a bit too short. It doesn't allow time to come back after snowballing. The side swap is a good mental reset for the team and I've seen all kinds of comebacks after a side swap. It provides more opportunity for both sides to perform.
      Rank is just a number. Forget about the rank and see if you like the One Map, Play Both Sides format.
      There are a large amount of competitive queuers that become worse players under the stress of the high-action and fraught socials. I've been saying for years that the average "quick play only" player is individually more talented than a lot of the "comp only" players at their (hidden) mmr because all those guys freeze up at the first sign of trouble. Competitive queue kinda needs QPers to join and learn the format so that there are more examples of relaxed, team oriented gameplay. You quick players don't usually choke on a big overtime game because your games have never been into double overtime. You guys just PLAY. It's so frustrating to play quick play then queue comp because the comp players will literally sit back and watch their team lose in a fight 10m in front of them and never lift a finger. But in quick play, every person tries every single fight.
      Honestly, drop the nerves and treat Comp queue like the rank doesn't matter that much. Try and find the exact same fun from the comp format as you find in Quick Play. It's actually not that bad if you don't place too much importance on the number. We're all here to play a game is all. It's not deep enough to worry about whether you fit in, just have fun.

  • @_korbo_

    Well I still think there's ways to fight with that Genji. There's two things I try to do whenever I have a teammate who just WILDLY has NO idea where to stand as their character. You know the frontline cassidys who seem like they wanna melee a reinhardt. You either, find the teammate on Your team who's playing the BEST, and divert all resources from the clueless to the carrier (adjust to his role/positioning or chose something that enhances their play, or if they're a support play with a carry that synergizes with them) OR, pick something that can capitalize on the attention your teammate is gathering by standing so poorly.
    In that case, your genji is playing blind dive, where he decides when to dive based on his cooldowns rather than the teamfight. If you want to play _with_ him, I think you'd have to play doomfist. Winston is just not going to be enough of a threat to capitalize on the chaos from the genji being an easy target. Unluckily, if you can't play doomfist well, I'm not sure what else can do it. Junkerqueeen MAYBE.

    Overwatch’s single biggest issue is educational. 99% of players don’t actually know how to win consistently- myself included. It’s such a complicated game, and that’s why we love it. It’s one thing to do the wrong thing and know it. But not only are people always doing the wrong thing- they’re defending their wrong behavior and misplacing blame consistently. I don’t see blizzard putting any resources towards this problem any time soon, despite them saying that a huge majority of players were in bronze.

    Everyone always blames the Genji. Always happened to me when I played, even during the times when I was WAY below my rank. Communication was useless, most people didn't listen. The reality is most people have no idea how to play the game, and that's one of the reasons why I quit. Overwatch 1 was beautiful when played properly, but when things like that first game you showed here happened it really felt like a total waste of time with absolutely no fun to be had.

    Freedo. Your taking a villian arch. Becoming that which you swore to destroy. Playing this much overwatch is making you argumentative, and angry at the world.
    Even in the podcast you are out to "win" something, and ull get angry to win it.
    Not saying I should stop, but you have been changing since you started grinding season 9

    This game is literally just getting lucky on if you and your teammates are even remotely on the same wavelength for timing and target prioritization. Super annoying.
