I’m from the Netherlands, if he stays asymptomatic he’ll be inside for 7 days since his positive test and then he can go outside again, according to the current regulations. If he develops symptoms he’ll be inside for at least 7 days + the time it takes him to be 24 hours without symptoms. So far in most closed events everybody gets tested every day, I’m not familiar with the chess events, but it’s very likely the at least have to do a selftest daily. So everything will probably be all right :)
I think you understood that wrong (going for some dutch here).
If I recall that right, Dubov's test was negative, but one of his team members got a positive result. They asked him to play in a mask and he abandoned the match. I do not think they would have offered him to play had he tested positive.
Dubov’s initial test was a rapid test. The tournament organizers said to either have a negative result of an accurate test or wear a mask. There wasn’t enough time to take a more accurate test before the game, and that accurate test later on had a positive result
@@rometjoearu184 if the person above is right, they were not sure whether he had covid, but there were suspicions. The safest way is not to interact with other players, which he did. He could have played in mask, but the risk would still be there. How would that be more respectful?
This came with a solution for the corona issue in the turnament:If everyone is infected then nobody can get infected so they should continue playing unless they feel symptoms

Anti-stupidity would be more precise. There is a difference between tested vaccine that has like 200k cases with side-effects in a span of 70 years...and an untested vaccine that has over 2 million cases in under 2 years that every social media deletes and bans for (oh and yeah, they are official numbers, available to the public...)

The kid is healthy and 20 something he's gonna be fine.
nuzzled vs nestled, I think you were looking for nestled
I've never seen Duda "do that".
I've never seen Shankland "shank land".
-Ben Finegold wouldn't have missed that opportunity.
Level up, "Levy" 😀
Vidit had played with dubov, now vidit is playing with carlsen
So Dubov just potentially wiped out all of top end chess? We could be in for some interesting days ahead, folks
Homie what are you talking about
@@jacokyle0160 I dunno, probably the fact that Dubov just tested positive for COVID two weeks into one of the most prestigious chess events in the world, where he's been sitting across the table from many of the world's strongest chess players for hours at a time without a mask on. Probably something like that.
@@Demento56 I guarantee all of them are vaxxed, they will survive.
Asymptomatic means your not sick.
@@andrewg2032 "you're"
And an asymptomatic person can still spread the virus
The winner of the tournament won't be the person with the most points. It'll be the person who manages to not catch covid.
That Giri-Rapport game will decide the tourney, because if they draw - even if Magnus loses to Fabi - Magnus will win with the forfeit by Dubov. If Giri wins Magnus still wins; if Rapport wins then Magnus just has to draw Fabi
Dubov's behaviour about face mask was not ok. Respect towards tournament organizers.
@@rometjoearu184 if the person above is right, they were not sure whether he had covid, but there were suspicions. The safest way is not to interact with other players, which he did. He could have played in mask, but the risk would still be there. How would that be more respectful?
Refusing to wear a mask in public during the Covid-19 epidemic should become as socially unacceptable as drink-driving or not wearing a seatbelt.
"Get into a calculating battle... with Fabiano"
Nope.
Dubov vs Carlsen would be so fucking awesome to see. My thoughts are with Dubov, Hopefully he has a speedy recovery
I cannot believe Praggnanandhaa is already GM at 12 years old and he is 16 right now playing absolute beauty
This came with a solution for the corona issue in the turnament:If everyone is infected then nobody can get infected so they should continue playing unless they feel symptoms
Their are other ppl in the playing hall other then the players, their are the arbitors, the camera guys etc, none of whom deserve to be exposed to covid
@@ryanoneal8480 "deserve" 😄
@@ryanoneal8480 I said "Everyone"
People who only play online blitz for fun are biting off the heads of professional players for drawing classical tournament games. Like, what do you want them to do? Take unnecessary risks just for the sake of a decisive result for our entertainment? How many of us even watch the whole stream, while they're burning out their brain cells for hours daily over a board game. Most of us wouldn't understand half the moves they make if we didn't have access to chess engines.
Absolutely terrible indeed. Get well soon Danya!!!
Very kind of you, but he is asymptomatic
Danil Dubov...
12:53 Didn't you get to the Lucena Position? I'm not sure if that position after black giving the rook for the pawn is winning, but that is probably the way to go
Dubov is dead. Rest In Peace
That's not funny mate
Fore the record, I'm happy with the length of your recaps. Cheers!
Dude the rona will be like the flu for the rest of our lives. It is what it is. We’re humans we will adapt. It’s not mind blowing crazy bad news
People act like it's the plague, literally...mind blowing.
"I have never seen duda do that"
BARS
"Everyone (except by guy) was playing without masks."
Now I feel like I'm totally not into this "in person" chess at all. No more any intentions of going into this "in person" FIDE thing. Just keep the online gaming because science denial in a such scale simply makes me speechless. And when any player flex their "superior chess capabilities" like it being a signature of intelligence, I will simply mention this episode. Congrats Levy and thank you for not being a GM but for being our favourite chess streamer.
imagine being asymptomatic for the flu and having to forfeit a tournament
If you think the top pin is the pin of shame, then you’ve lost touch with REALITY. I love chess and I am with Dubov. Hope he gets well soon.
the walkovers given by Duval will not be rated.
the points in the tournament stand but no elo points will be credited.
Levy, don't pin the anti-vax comments. I know it's meant to shame them (at least, I hope that's why you pinned it...) but unlike insults, this is just going to serve as a beacon for other anti-vaxxers to spread their rhetoric, and it's also not 100% clear that your pin is not a supportive one
Henceforth, this giveaway of points shall be known as the Dubov Gambit.
